Awesome Toys R Us, probably the best in the Charlotte area. They carry a ton of inventory, easy parking and nice store. The staff are okay, not overly helpful, but always seem to have what Ive needed.
Bad experiences all around. We purchased hundreds of dollars worth of toys from them for our Salvation Army Angel Tree. We did all of the shopping online, for in-store pickup. Placed 4 orders on a Tuesday afternoon/early evening. By 11AM the next day, we still hadnt received word on those orders. Showed up at the store, and the employees (who have to yell at you from across the customer service area, because the computer they use is at least 6 feet from the customer counter, ridiculous), basically shrugged and said, I guess no one pulled the orders. Really? We were promised that they would work on them, but when we came back at 2pm, we still had to wait, and one of the orders wasnt scanned properly so the order cancelled, and we had to wait around while they rung up everything again. Store pickup is supposed to make things easier, not harder. A couple of employees and someone whom I believe is a manager, they were the only ones who were helpful. An older lady there basically walked around with a frown on and answered all of our questions with I dont know. Probably shouldve added And I dont care. Youd think that with the stiff competition from Amazon, Target, etc, that theyd want to be on top of their game, but apparently not. We wont be shopping here again.
Ordered a crib a few days ago that was supposed to come in within the hour, then their was no tracking information it said it didnt exist according to the order number, came in and spoke to a worker who was very rude and mean to me (everyone has bad days so I will not be stating her name), a few days later (yesterday) I called and Rich the manager devoted a good 30 minutes trying to help me figure out the situation, he is the best manager I have ever dealt with and he was super helpful and made me feel very welcome!
My children absolutely love this place. They find everything they want. Its always clean and organized and the lines are always short.
Four members of the Cabarrus Detachment 1175 Marine Corps Leagueshopped for needy children for the annual Toys for Tots Campaign.All the staffs helpfulness was unsurpassed, they knew what children liked, knew what was a very good value helped us purchase over 300 toys by age & gender and bagged the items that helped us sort for the age groups. They did this with a pleasing attitude that made a bunch of old but sill serving our communities Marine Corps Leagers happy and in a good frame of mind he help the needy children. We left with a good feeling knowing that Every Child Deserves a Little Christmas.
Ive applied for job here and had interview set up with store manager. Three different times and and all three times she had made up BS excuse if not being able to do the interview. Wasted my time multiple times. Rude employees that dont know how to talk to people or even acknowledge customers presents. Horribly service. Unorganized management and disgusting bathrooms.
Unorganized and rude employees. Ran into two employees having a conversation about what they were doing when they got off. Said excuse me 3 times before I was acknowledged. when I asked for help with locating a product I was told thats not my section I dont know. I went to customer service to do an exchange and the employee working the desk just walked off and left me at the register (never spoke to me). Two more employees went back and forth about who Would work the register before I was helped. The one that came over replied idk where she went and helped with my transaction.

Rude customer service as well as associates that all say different things due to improper training. Return policy changes day to day. Exchanging something that was a gift for something of the same price and item. Will be doing my shopping on EBay or Lego store for cheaper prices and better service.

It is an old store and there dont seem to be as many shopping options as Ive seen at other Toys R Us. The service is good and friendly!
Let me start off by saying its 11 days before Christmas! ELEVEN! Went to pick up layaway waited for ever with receipt in hand then was told my layaway was no where to be found😲. Naturally one would begin to get annoyed. While the young lady helping was sweet an helpful she was not able to recover everything we had already paid for on are receipt due to no longer having said items in the store. Now im pissed😠! Im being told they will now have to find the missing items online an have them shipped to my house hopfuly in time for Christmas lol. I will never EVER DO this again nor shop here.
I worked there for about 2 weeks, realized how unorganized it is! I was seriously the only employee helping customers on the floor, the backroom for layaway is terrible! none of my co-workers wanted to help at all, for a store its size it is understaffed. They never answer the phone because it requires them to work. Hardly anything stays in stock, season time is extremely busy, if you order online good luck getting your stuff on time, i worked shipping for a little bit and orders that were 2 weeks old still hasnt been packaged. People wait forever for layaway!
Out of stock of a lot of items. Wal mart had a better selection of the popluar toys.
They have good collection of toys however price is costly compared to Walmart and target. May be this is the reason they couldn’t stay competitive . Sad that they will be closing soon and kids will start to loose the feeling of touching and feeling the toys before buying
Went to purchase a bicycle for my 6 year old. Most on display had no prices. Asked staff to price for me. He was disgusted and said I will have to get a scanner. Ok, Ill wait. Walked off mumbling. Came back 5 min later - No scanner. Oh, I forgot. Be right back . By now I had looked it up on my phone. He returned looking at the display models then determined they had no bar codes. Wrote down some numbers and again said I will return. Not sure if he did. I rolled the choice to the register with my price information I looked up and was told it was $10.00 more because it was assembled. Seemed crazy to me as the hex bolts were not tight and tires were not properly inflated, but Ok. I paid. When I took home and read manual with parts list I noticed parts missing. Returned to store to ask for missing parts. Employee was rude and explained that That model does not include those parts. Had the manual with me and showed parts list. Blank stare.. Said I could return but would not refund assembly fee. I will not return bike my 6 year old loves, but will not shop this store again. Only went there because of gift card from cousins in PA. Advised them to not gift TrU again. Walmart has better selection and does not charge to assemble and lose parts.
Clean store. Hard to find help sometimes to get into the video games and prices. Cashiers were very nice.

They wont answer the phones when you call so if you need directions forget it. Good sales though at Christmas.
The building and store itself is mad old and busted but they do have a lot of toys and kids only care about toys anyway. Minus one star for deferred maintenance.

It has many toys but not all of them, which were available online. This means careful with last moment shopping, because you may not find item in store what are you looking for online.
Fair warning, during the week their sales are 30% storewide. During the weekends, it’s only 10%.

I tried to call this store and was put on hold for 15 minutes. Finally someone answered and then put me back on hold to check on the item I was inquiring about. After a few minutes, someone else picked up, and then proceeded to hang up on me before I could let them know that I was on hold. Needless to say I will not be back if this is the type of customer service that the store has.
