I was hoping for more of toward the trade in of my PS games. They also force you to come back the same day if youre not accepting their offer. Even 24 hours would be nice but I get they dont have room. They were all friendly enough and the store appears like a reasonable place to get books and what not at a discount. Ill try them once more to see if they can offer me more on a box of books.

Have used them many times. Fast service, consistent across all locations. They many not pay the most money, but if you simplay want to sell/ recycle books fast, this is the place.

I never go wrong with HPB - love it. Staff here was happy to assist me when I needed help finding a book right before closing time recently.

Always a good place to take some time to look around. Its good to be aware of pricing if your a bargain hunter, otherwise there is plenty to choose from and you can almost always leave with something you like.

This location is the only place workers have been friendly! Ive frequented locations around the Twin Cities that are still open and some that have been closed now for years, and I was so pleasantly surprised to meet a woman who smiled and was super welcoming when I brought items to the counter to sell. I told her how much I appreciated that and though this store is further away compared to other locations, I would go out of my way in the future to have a much more enjoyable experience.Its also a much brighter, sunnier store compared to others in strip malls so that may add to a happier atmosphere. I browsed and purchased a couple items. One thing that surprised me was cheap ($2) greeting cards. I happened to need a couple so it worked in my favor!

This HPB is well lit, fully staffed, attentive, clean and well stocked. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. I will be back again.

Half priced books is a nice used books store. but the prices they pay for used books are crazy. for about 50 books they gave us $10. we were just trying to get rid of them so we took it, but honestly the total cover price on those books was probably $250. which means they will sell them for about $125. that seems like a bit of a rip off.

I have always loved HPB, anytime Im in MN its worth a visit. Most recently been visiting to complete my collection of game guides, and of course, pick up a self help book or 7.

I love buying used books here. I think used books have more character. They make me happy. I can always find something awesome here for a great price.

Retro video game prices have skyrocketed since covid shutdowns with more people gaming or introduced to gaming during lockdowns. hpb, which should be renamed to over-priced books (esp games) no longer have competitive pricing on used games. id look elsewhere like pawn shops or dedicated mom&pop game stores if you want a good deal on used games. online marketplaces have cannibalized hpbs business as many have migrated to selling & buying their wares there. selection of popular and collector games have dwindled in recent months leaving just throwaways on their shelves. and they still havent brought back their popular week long coupon drives that was a staple business driver

Stopped in while waiting for dinner reservations at outback. Found these 5 books on clearance, $3 each! $15 for five hardcover #1 top authors books. Yes!!! Im prepared for the shutdown. Need lots of books to read. Visit your local bookstores. A+

I love this place, the ppl are kind and helpful. In 5 years, 2 ppl have come across as annoyed but it was also busy... they have a great assortment and options of they dont have it at the store youre in. Their online presence via mobile site leaves a LOT to be desired. I think there would be a boost to their sales and such if it was improved on. I always call or go in to find out information.Always bright, clean and friendly.

The place was very clean and well put together, friendly staff. I brought in so many books, had to be close to their limit of 50, including three box sets, including a shrink-wrapped game of thrones box set, retail $50. They offered me $23, and I foolishly assumed they just werent taking very much of the stuff, cashed out, went to get the remainder, and found out it was $23 for ALL THE THINGS. Unbelievable, thats less than 25 cents per item, and the cheapest book I saw for sale was $4 (typical, okay condition romance paperback, retail $8), unbelievable. I should have asked, I know that, but wow.

This is my favorite HPB. They RARELY dont have the book Im looking for and everything is so well placed and clean. I even love their variety of clearance books. And the staff! Just marvelous. Highly recommend!

They have a lot of good deals on mystery and thriller books. Right when you walk in theres a cart for 5 dollars or less. A lot of the books have been published within the last 3 years or so.

Love HPBs, they always say hello and are friendly. When I bring things in for cash I feel like I am contributing to help others enjoy reading, learn new things and reminisce about our childhood.

I stopped in this morning (March 5th) looking for a few books. After speaking to the gentleman behind the counter he asked me to pull my mask up over my nose. I replied due to my asthma I cannot. I was than asked to leave the store. So long half price books. I will never shop at any location again.

I cant recommend selling them your books. They give you a total for everything you bring in, and its a fraction of what it is really worth, even for selling them to resell. I took the one dollar book and sold it myself for $35, took the other two they offered .50 for and sold each for $15. I am kicking myself for being taken advantage of. Books arent worth much, except when they are.

I wouldnt say all their books are half price I think thats just their name but, it is still really nice to go back to the days of a book. I mean simplicity is so refreshing.

They barely give you anything for what you sell, then they sell it to people for like, $10.00 more than what they gave you! Their also pricing their things based off AMAZON! I saw something that was like, $50.00 here, and should be worth less! I forgot its name because of the price. Other stores around will tell you the same thing about their pricing, and you can confirm it, by looking on Amazon.

HUGE selection of any genre if book. Paperback, hardcover, collectable, first editions, you name it theyve got it. I am into cookbooks and I found a couple of real gems including The Original White House Cookbook 1887 Edition. I havent been able put it down... I want to try all the recipes.

My niece is missing so I stoped by to see if they seen her and forgot my mask as its a stressfully time they wouldnt answer if they seen her or not because I didnt have a mask. There view is a mask is more important then a missing person

This is a great place to buy books especially in that clearance. Not the best place to sell your books. I had a ton of books and DVDs that I brought in on two different occasions in the past week. I have done this in the past but had stopped because I always felt quilty after I left the store. The first time was decent was around $50 and the last one was $17. The bigger amount was rare otherwise Id say I average 12 bucks from the times I have sold here. All in all if you are hard up for cash, depending on the books uoure selling of say wait and sell online. I

The distancing spacing for the check out line combined with the one-way aisles makes for a really tricky navigation situation in the paperback sci-fi/fantasy and romance aisle. Other than that, really great. Got some fun finds, proper masking and distancing in place, and they have specific hours for people to sell their used books right now.

I had the most terrible experience in this store some employee named Annie kept following me around and harassing me and others, about how we were wearing our masks. She was rude and acting more like a bully- then helping us out, she was also stalking other customers about how the mask was being worn. We had our masks, on and she and another employee wouldnt stop, she was saying she didnt care about health concerns, because it is a private establishment. She proceded to try and escort me out of the store even though, we had stated we wanted to leave, she stood there blocking the way and continued to stand right next us less then a foot away even after repeatedly being told to back up and let is leave! We had our mask AND SHE WAS invading my personal space and breaking the 6ft distance policy herself ! I was about ready to call the police to be honest and they are just asking for a lawsuit .

I always have nothing but amazing service, even with this virus they are amazingly helpful and accommodating. My go to place when I need any book for a good price! They only charge 1.99 per book for out of state shipping, so it’s still way more affordable than ordering online.

Great service wide selection I went in there to fill my library and ill have to make a couple more its amazing how many more books you can get for a good price I tripled the amount I got from Barnes and noble I think slightly used will work from now on

Can you believe what I found at HPB this weekend? No, I didnt buy it! But it was good for a trip down Memory Lane -- an Apple II in 1978 started a great side-hustle. I am always looking for a Gem at HPB -- found a couple of Sonny Rollins cds.

Really nice book store. Not dirty. Very organized and clean. They have a good selection from new to older books . For all ages! I really recommend coming here . Best half price book store I have ever been to. They have a 20%off sale on black friday on everything. Very reasonable on prices as well.

I am unable to come into the store at this time because Im older and have weak lungs. This causes me to be unable to breath through a cloth or paper mask without becoming light headed and feeling faint. And the store will not let anyone in without a cloth mask. This is wrong!!!!

Every single Half Price Books is great but this one is in a pretty busy area so they get a lot of good items. You can get movies, games, books, toys, almost anything you can think of here. Always great prices and also have a bunch of coupons they send out for up to 50% off quite a bit.

Nice little store. Has a large selection of new and used books. Has a lot of different categories of books. Also has a discount section with a small selection of books for just a few dollars. Theyre are some good choices in the discount section. Even though prices are cheaper then a new bookstore, they still are somewhat pricey and can be found used for a lot cheaper online.

What an awesome place with good and cheap books! Before you go to Target or Wal-Mart, come here!
