Oh my goodness you made me and 12 kids so so happy. They have been collecting mac n cheese from friends and family for Community Unity 5000 to feed 5000 local people a Thanksgiving meal. To show them how proud we were of them I asked you to make mac n cheese cupcakes and you delivered BEYOND expectations!!!! Oh my goodness they were AWESOME!!!! Thank you so much. The kids collected 832 boxes which will give 3328 people a side of mac n cheese!!! Your cupcakes were the icing on the cake. ❤️🧁🧁

I hosted a 60th birthday party for my mother. I ordered a three layer cake with vanilla, Lemon, and white chocolate raspberry. The cake was amazing all of the guest really enjoyed all three flavors. The ordering was extremely easy and they emailed me back so fast which I loved they made hosting an event from a different state much easier. They decorated the cake just how I wanted but even better! The delivery was right one time. I would HIGHLY recommend!

This is one of the most customer friendly places I have visited in quite a while. I was greeted with sincerity, not just as Oh well, another customer. They listened attentively to what I wanted (purchasing for someone with special dietary needs), made notes, etc. The end result was great tasting cupcakes that were also a treat to the eyes.! The price was what I considered very reasonable.

I ordered 2 dozen cup cakes, 2 dozen cake pops and 2 dozen cake sickles from them for my niece sweet 16. We had a dessert table in our mind and went to many places around but couldn’t find one that is suitable for our needs. This is the only place who actually sat with us, listen to our ideas and suggested us with options. The girl who took our order was so patient and went beyond in helping us come to a decision with flavors, designs and color combinations that would go with our theme and decor. I forwarded them random pictures from pinterest for inspiration and they included the ideas so nicely in their designs. Overall our dessert table is a huge hit at the party and everyone (kids and adults) loved the cake pops and cake sickles.

Sweet Cakes Bakery is the best!! When on vacation I stopped by everyday for cupcakes. They were SO delicious I had to try as many flavors as I could. I was so impressed with the bakery that when I got home I made a custom cookie order! The cookies were shipped and arrived in perfect condition. They not only looked amazing, but they tasted amazing!The staff and owner were very kind and knowledgeable. They also promptly answered all of my questions when I ordered the cookies... and I had a lot.I am so glad that I visited this bakery and I cannot wait for my next road trip so I can make sure Sweet Cakes is on the way to wherever I am going.

Ever since Sweet Cakes opened we have been going and enjoying their delicious cupcakes. We moved to Indiana in 2014 and have been coming back once a year to get some of these delicious treats. Today we were greatly disappointed in the quality of cupcakes we received. These Betty Crocker looking and tasting cupcakes deeply saddened my family. If we wanted cupcakes of this quality or new recipe we would rather just go spend the money to buy a box at Harris Teeter.

Just got a vanilla vegan cupcake, delicious !! It tasted buttery and moist, the icing was a bit sweet for me so I didnt eat it all but the cupcake- demolished it. I tried to save some for my daughter but it was too late. Guess well have to come back together and each get our own 😊

Cake was awesome and sweet cakes bakery made the same cake as picture which i have sent them. Taste was superb and appreciated their effort they made our gender reveal party awesome. Couldn’t take pictures before cutting.

We had the pleasure of receiving personalized cookies sent to our school for teacher appreciation week. They arrived in perfect condition and the details on the icing were amazing! They were so pretty I didn’t want to eat mine, but really I love cookies so I ate it anyways! I’m glad I did because it was even tastier than it was pretty! I wish all bakeries could come through like this but they can’t and I’m glad SweetCakes Bakery can! Thank you!

We ordered a cake for our sons graduation from college. It was beautiful!!! Had it on the restaurant table for lunch before the event. So many comments about “What a beautiful cake” from people passing by. We had ordered the hummingbird cake and it was amazing!!!! Wish I had a piece now for breakfast now with a cup of coffee.

Ordered 3 dozen cupcakes for our sons engagement party in NC and they were FANTASTIC. White chocolate raspberry (my fav), red velvet, salted caramel, and lemon poppyseed with blackberry frosting - they were devoured and raved about all night. We live in MI and I ordered over the phone - they were incredibly patient and helpful. Based on my experience, they are a tremendous value for the high quality product. Would stop there weekly if I lived closer!

To the OWNER take control of you’re establishment! Unless you are just the same as the people you HIRE. I am sitting here in disbelief of what I just experienced with an employee by the name of EMMA. I got here so excited after a rough morning. And my graduation cake looked nothing as pictured. My congrats  script was written very sloppy and was almost unreadable. The green was also a light green and definitely not a UNCC green as I sent through email. It was to the point that the other cashier had to step in and admit it. I only became really upset, when Emma came out with an aggressive attitude asking “What’s the issue with it” instead of an apology or how can we fix this (In a polite way). She was just really aggressive. I really wanted to take my money elsewhere as my normal cake artist had been booked. And this was the establishment that a family member had previously ordered a cake from and had great things to say. Unfortunately, my experience did not work out this way. Bad energy seriously scares the customer away. And Emma later confided in my sister, who had an order placed for a few days later. And informed her that she really had an agitated day, and I guess my situation drove her. I appreciate the other worker who fixed my cake and assured me after the fact. But this was a horrible experience with Emma, and this sadly reflects the owner and she works in your establishment. She even snatched the curtains and closed them after her co worker told her to just go to the back and she would handle it. Despite my experience, I really hope my cake is worth the hassle and poor experience.

I was in the bakery yesterday during what I think was the situation described in the most recent 1 star review and I saw nothing wrong with the way the employees handled the situation. They helped me even while trying to deal with rude customers and were extremely kind. I love sweet cakes and Id recommend their sweets to anyone!!!!

I had the MOST TERRIBLE experience with this bakery today. My daughter was having her birthday photo shoot, and the cake that I placed an order for was never made. The employees who took my order obviously wrote down my information incorrectly, despite me having been a previous customer. However I gave a specific date that I had reached out prior to that with pictures on their Facebook page, along with my name, and they did not use that mode to contact me either. Instead, they never actually went through with my order. They said they could make the cake for me later in the day after I had already taken off work for the morrning, but they said they would not be willing to offer any sort of discount for the inconvenience. This is the absolute worst form of customer service, and I will never recommend them again! I am very disappointed the manager did not even have the courtesy to speak with me. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Pick another bakery, and support someone who cares for their customers!In response to the below “reply” from Sweet Cakes:Unfortunately when I called your employee did not let me know that I had to pay on the spot, otherwise I gladly would have immediately. Additionally they wrote down my contact information incorrectly (this is the reason you had trouble reaching me...even though you could have reached out via Facebook, assuming your employee took the notes that I specified), and told me that 10 AM would be the time for pick up. When I called and you offered to make it on the spot. you said 12 PM, so that would be a two hour difference long after the photo session was supposed to take place. Additionally, whenever a customer has to be put on hold multiple times while an employee goes back-and-forth to talk to the manager, the professional response would be to speak directly to the customer, considering this was your employee’s error for not understanding the process! I want to ensure customers are not left without a cake on their child’s birthday. Thankfully another bakery was able to accommodate my request right away! Hopefully in the future you will try to keep your customers versus loose them (I was a repeat customer- I spent $100’s or dollars with your bakery), due to you be unwilling to admit your error and at least offer a small discount for the inconvenience. However, despite all of this, I do wish you the best and hope you learn how to better respond to other customers in the future.

Sadly their quality has changed. Weve been buying their cupcakes since 2011. I got two vanilla cupcakes on Tuesday, and to my surprise the cupcakes tasted like the ones you get from the grocery store. I sent them a message through Facebook but they didnt reply until I left a comment in one of their posts (comment that they deleted) and replied back. They told me the bakery was under new ownership. Its sad to let go the great quality these cupcakes have been known for.

I had a great experience ordering and receiving my cake pop “bouquet”. The team at Sweet Cakes were able to completely make a vision that was provided over the phone into reality. I will be supporting this locally owned shop again in the near future!

I brought my kids by after dinner for a desert and my daughter usually just eats the icing on top of the cupcakes, well she ate it all and both my son a daughter enjoyed their cups cakes as I enjoyed mine! Thank you!

This guys are not professional bakers we really disappointed with our baby girl 1st birthday cake . We gave order 20 days advance.We payed for a cake that was done horribly. There are no words to describe the attention we received the day we went to pick up the cake. We complained about the cake to the lady, and she had the nerve to respond well what do you expect from a cake that you only payed $100for. Only? That was $100dollars and we didnt put a price on the cake that is what they charged us when we came to them with our ideas. When we gave them our ideas, we thought they would put it together like a professional bakery but they did un professional,I would not recommend this place to anyone. Please dont waste your time or money here. Find yourself a place that values their work and puts in effort to present a good product no matter the price! We ordered our daughters 5th birthday cake from here and it was so delicious!!! Every detail of the cake was perfect and it was done with short notice. We wont be going anywhere else from now on! The staff is very polite and willing to help you with all of your questions. We have tried their cupcakes as well and they are superb! Our favorite is strawberry and cookies and creme but they are all very good!

Always a great experience at Sweet Cakes and hands down the tastiest dessert shop in the area! Weve worked with Sweet Cakes for years for our corporate gifts and the service has always been impeccable. There was even an ownership change this year and it was flawless. Although we miss Brenda the new owners, Billy and Wendy, are fabulous! Its definitely still family-owned. I highly recommend Sweet Cakes for the cupcakes and cake pops as well as the gluten-free options! The new cakes look divine and I cant wait to try them as well! Sweet Cakes never disappoints! My daughter and I got sick and had to push her birthday party back a week. Sweet Cakes only required one day notice to reschedule our order. Very pleased!

I originally called Sweet Cakes as I had an order to place for 24 cupcakes, 4 of which were to be vegan/gluten free. When I picked them up, I was very surprised to find the charge to be $100. Ive never in my life paid that much for 2 dozen cupcakes. I dont know if they were good as they were for my 8 year old daughters class but they were most definitely very very expensive. I will not be going back.

The cake we ordered was beautiful on the outside but we were so disappointed in the flavor. The cake itself tasted like flour and the frosting was a horrible gritty texture. I was truly embarrassed with all of our guests and regretted spending that much on a cake when all of our guests were throwing it out 😐

My husband and I got married in Vegas so to celebrate our first year anniversary I ordered a small replica of the cake top that we had in Vegas . The cake was absolutely beautiful. However I was very disappointed about the dryness of the red velvet cake. I chose specifically a bakery because I know how grocery store cakes could be dry. I didnt mind the price, but I feel if youre going to pay the extra money for a professional bakery to bake you a cake that the cake would be perfectly baked.

I had quite a large order for a graduation party. The order was to be ready at 4:00, and when I arrived at 4:30 it was not ready. I had to wait almost 20 minutes for the order to be finished and packed up. The cookies were not designed as requested. The cupcakes were supposed to have a college design and square stickers were literally just placed on the top of the cupcakes. You would have thought they melted or blended the paper designs into the frosting. They do this a HT. Guests all removed the square pictures because they looked like paper tattoos. We had a special order for some pretzels and those were fabulous. The cupcakes and cookies tasted delicious but the cosmetics were very disappointing considering the cost. Unfortunately I could not address the issues at pick up because I was late to the party I was hosting.

.... Wendy and the rest of the staff was excellent, easy to work with, creative, punctual, and reliable. She had made a wedding cake and grooms cake, both of which were originals as well as double cupcakes in apothecary jars.... it was all delicious !!! The fillings were splendid and finger licking good ....All the guests loved the surprise cupcakes and flavors !!!!

We used Sweet Cakes for our wedding and we couldnt be happier with how everything turned out! We used a cupcake display with a 12 cake on top. The mini cupcakes all turned out great and they were delicious! Their prices are excellent! I sent an original image of what Id like our cake to look like. They told me they could do that, but it would require fondant and likely turn our teeth blue! So glad they warned me about it, I changed the design and it was just beautiful! Guests raved about how delicious the cupcakes were as well. Thank you Sweet Cakes! Ill always be a fan!

I’ve only had great experiences here, however that changed today after I purchased a few cupcakes for my husband’s birthday. After tasting his first cupcake- the Mississippi mud, he nearly spit it out, said it was hard as a rock, and tasted 3 days old. This has always been his favorite flavor from Sweet Cakes and why I went there in the first place. I don’t usually write negative reviews but it’s frustrating when something that is supposed to make someone’s day turns out to be a disappointment.

I was very disappointed. My husband ordered almond cupcakes for my birthday and they were terrible! They tasted like they had been made days before. They were dry, hard and didnt have that light fluffy texture that you expect from an almond cupcake. He even order a couple other flavors when he got there to pick them up and none of them were very good. He got one that he was told was strawberry but it was nothing but a vanilla cupcake with pink frosting. The chocolate was very dry and so was the red velvet. We will never order from this place again! Next time we will remember to stick with small cakes in huntersville!

Their cupcakes are excellent and they have a great variety! I took a dozen to a dinner and everyone loved them. The customer service was very helpful and friendly. I placed a phone order to pick them up that evening and everything was waiting for me when I arrived.

I called Wednesday about getting cookies made for my sisters bachelorette party. I was told to bring in a picture, I asked several times if I could just tell them what I wanted. They insisted I bring in a picture. I told them I could bring in a picture after I got off work and they told me to wait until Thursday bc they would closing early. So I called Thursday to let them I could not bring in a picture because I could not get off work but I really needed to order cookies. They told me to email a picture, so I emailed a picture to them along with my number. I never got an email back. Friday morning I was there at 10 when they opened but the doors were locked. I left cane back at 10:40 am. They told me they never received my email and that they could not make cookies for Saturday. I don’t appreciate companies that give you the run around and will not be using them anymore.

Ordered a cake with fondant and a specific design. The cake that was picked up had buttercream icing instead of fondant, the design requested and agreed upon was different but the colors matched, the cake was very dry and lastly the icing was sparse and had bubbles in some areas. The icing clearly was separating from the cake, maybe it was put on when the cake was still warm? The responses from Taylor in regards to the with separation, icing and bubbles, “not sure what you would like me to do here” and because there were other people waiting in line Taylor avoided answering any other questions. Nearly $60 for a cake that was highly disapppointing.

The owner was accomodative in term of pricing and cake design. However, when I came for the cake tasting, she was not there. She said she would call back to work something out, but I never heard from her...
