I often work here to help my family with projects. The fact that during covid they wont allow you to use the bathroom to wash your hands all while paying thousands of dollars a month is simply outrageous. I was in shock that I had to drive to the mall down the road, park, and walk into the mall to use the many bathrooms they have open to the general public. There is absolutely no reason that the private bathroom for customers is closed. We spend all day at storage to do work and then have to stop and leave the property to use the bathroom all while leaving someone behind to make sure our belongings are safe... Horrible
I highly recommend this storage facility. Bethany, the manager, is terrific, the facilities are clean & well-lighted, the flatbeds and dollies are gratis. Most importantly, the security system is excellent. I have been a customer for 2 years and recently downsized to a slightly smaller unit. Unfortunately, the rates seem to be increased fairly often, but this facility is still my top choice.
This place is great so far. They have big double doors that stay open on the ground level and plenty of flat bed dollies to roll your stuff AND a free box truck rental / use. I mean what do you really want. There IS a little bit of efflorescence in the corner of my unit so I will move units asa I sell some stuff. Also the staff is nice, the office clean bright with bathroom and small store.
Avoid. Not the best place to rent storage from. I highly recommend going local/to a small business.Somewhere you can get real customer service from, if that matters to you.I chose the Alameda, CA location because it’s indoor and offers easy-to-get-to units on the ground floor. It also seemed well secured, til the security roll-up door broke and they didn’t fix it for months! Mind you, it was not like someone drove into it - the door was poorly maintained and the mechanism that rolls it up no longer functioned correctly.Instead of having someone man the gate or setting up a temporary access code at the back, they left the back roll-up door wide open all day... so anyone can get right in. This of course also affect the access hours, tough to get in 10a-6p when you work 9a-5p. No security, no cameras, just wide open. For the months the door was broken I asked for a 10% discount, seeing as they’re not holding up their end of the bargain (basic facilities maintenance and security - which is what I’m paying for. Right?). Immediately denied. They also do not pro-rate the units. So once you pay, you’ve paid the whole month regardless of when you pull your stuff out. They’re not willing to work with you at all.I stored stuff here for exactly 1 year - and I will never use their services again.I genuinely hope they do better at customer care game, otherwise it will probably put them out of business. I’ve had far better experiences with Public Storage than I have here - despite PS being a very large business it’s clear that customers matter to them. With Central Self Storage I’ve encountered:- unaccommodating + rude staff(on phone and in person)- difficulty in reaching customer care(automated phone system leads you to VMs always - no humans without lots of stressful button mashing and luck)- broken facilities- increases in rates- a lack of accountability from the company at large
Very easy to work with property manager
My monthly rate has steadily increased for the past four years, most recently a 19% increase in less than a year forcing me out. I have automatic payment and am an ideal, clean customer. In my opinion Pegasus Group is price gouging and not pricing to costs nor market, very unfair.
Clean, quiet, well managed.
