I come here a lot bcus they have all variety, affordable to expensive but good stuff. Everyone is helpful and the store is always clean.

I went to make my purchase at the register and I realized I didnt have my wallet. I was completely embarrassed. (I forgot the employees name at the register) but she was extremely pleasant and helpful.. she kept reassuring that I could still make the purchase with my card on file..and she went above and beyond to ensure I had top quality customer service. Im impressed. The employees are polite as well as the security guard that greets you upon arrival 👌

I bought cosmetic kit for my wife but I was little bit nervous coz I dont have any knowledge about cosmetic things. But Ulta Beauty give the best product kit. And my wife really like this kit and also shocked because she never accept this kind of gift from my side.

I just went to get new tinted moisturizer, foundation, and an eyebrow pencil. I had such a nice experience with the sales associate on the floor today. He matched me perfectly and recommended new brands (a Nars tinted moisturizer and foundation, Benefit brow pencil, and setting spray). I just tried them on at home as you are not able to sample in store due to covid, and I’m so impressed by how well he matched me and with the quality of the items he recommended. Other trips to purchase makeup throughout the pandemic have resulted in me having to make a few return trips due to colors not matching, and I just love the products he introduced me to today. I would literally go back to this store over Sephora or another location just to have his opinion on my purchases 😂. Highly recommend the guy!

I am absolutely appalled by the treatment I just got by the staff at the Ulta store on 17th St. in Costa Mesa. I have been a very long client of this store and have spent thousands of dollars in this location. I had reviewed a primer, foundation and powder by Dermablend that has great ratings and reviews on line and on Youtube. While in the store a man by the name of Tony asked if he could help. I told hime about the great reviews for Dermablend. He told me he knew of something much better and directed me to Juice Beauty and said he was a make up artist and this is the best foundation and powder for full coverage and long lasting wear. I repeatedly asked if he was sure it was full coverage and long wearing, as it looked very watery and if it wore longer than the Dermablend. He said ABSOLUTELY. I told him I have so many foundations but I need a really full coverage for night. I got the product home and tried it on. HORRIBLE, streaky, like water, you can not even use with a sponge because it soaks it all up. It is very sheer coverage even after trying to build. Immediately, I went to Youtube to watch reviews and most had the same findings as me. The Ulta reviews are horrible. A lot of 1 star reviews STATING THAT SOMEONE FROM ULTA TALKED THEM OUT OF WHAT THEY WANTED INTO THIS FOUNDATION AND IT WAS HORRIBLE. Some later finding out the person at Ulta was a Juice rep. Infuriating!!! I went back to Ulta, got my original product and asked the cashier if Tony worked for the Juice Beauty brand. She said YES, and I explained how the product was the complete opposite of what I was purchasing and how Ulta should have makeup line reps disclose that so customers are not being swayed into a product thinking they are getting advice from a unbiased staff member who should be looking out for the clients true needs. During my discussion with the cashier, she completely ignored everything I said. Now feeling very irritated and frustrated that I am waisting my one day off driving back to Ulta. So I express calmly to the cashier that she should really acknowledge me and my complaint because its very valid and it felt like I was being ignored. I asked for the Managers name and she said AJ and just then another staff member basically came and shooed me out of the store saying ok bye, I know your upset but have a great Sunday. I absolutely could not believe she was walking me out as if I had done something wrong. I then asked for the cashiers name and she said Arianna, now have a great day and turned around and walked away. How humiliating. As a hug Ulta customer, I am disgusted and completely appalled how all of this was handled! Tony should be ashamed that he did not identify himself as a Juice Rep and Ulta should be ashamed that their staff handles customers in this manner.

First time here and place is clean and organized.

Usually I love Ulta because they treat me better than the people at Sephora but this one specifically was not okay. Specially Laura or Lauren I don’t remember who while I was looking at something stepped in front of me without saying excuse me or anything for that matter while I was looking at Anastasia eyebrow gel. Not one person asked me if I needed help and to be treated that way let’s just say they were lucky the mascara that I LOVE had a huge discount sale or I would have been out of there. Learn better customer service and respect Laura.

Great store, staff, and overall experience. They are currently remodeling so dont mind the board up currently in place. Only thing I wish I saw more of was Kylies Cosmetics. It is so limited at this location.

I like it there. Has different make up of different brands and choose from your liking. They even do your make up or just do it solo. They even facial spas if you want to relax. They can be affordable. I just wish they had make up wipes since some people tend to use thier hand to swatch the colors they like.

Always kind service at this location! I drive extra just to come here! Super knowledgeable staff and great product deals. Check your coupons for further benefits and watch your points, especially when making purchases the month of your birth.

They dont ask u if I need help on the floor. They chitchat between each other. But the cleanliness of the store is nice everything is organized other than the sales/clearance it looks like a tornado hit the place. When checking out the customer service us great she made conversation with me and was friendly.

Good luck trying to get out of this place its ridiculous. They usually have one cashier and 50 people in line and the managers on a break and and and so on so on so on. I pass on this place all together Id rather be at Macys right and get a handful of wonderful perfume samples theres plenty of staff to help me pay for my order I dont have to stand there and wait for them to figure out they need to call for someone whos on a break already anyways very badly managed

I like the convenience of this location. DETEST the store managers attitude and how consistently it doesnt get better. What is she doing in a customer service job?..shes bothered by questions... I only go to this location now if Im short on time AND also, because the staff members are fairly helpful.

My girlfriend called with a simple question (which is their job to answer no offense) and she was met with a terrible attitude and stuck up behavior of Cynthia. Acted as if her phone call was an inconvenience, hey I get it retail is tough, but tighten your act up Cynthia. Tons of people would love to have your job!

High end makeup on one side of the store, drugstore brands on the opposite side with fragrance, bath essentials, hair accessories and nail polish down the middle.Good customer service and what appears to be a nice salon in the back.Nothing bad to say, I love Ulta!

Staff is super helpful, pointing out sales that you would otherwise miss. It always takes a lil to get through check out, but be patient. Staff are kind, cheerful and attentive. I feel like Im being treated like a movie star from their superior customer service.

Perfect place for a one stop shop! Not in a regular mall or busy shopping center so its not usually crowded. It is mostly surrounded by restaurants so the parking lot can be packed by lunch time

I had to leave cause I felt very uncomfortable. So I left my goodies and went to “planet beauty” for a more comfortable environment. Sorry won’t be going to this location anymore.this was Thursday July,12 at 4:00pm.

I love this store so much i can literally spend hours in here checking out all the make up and products they carry. They also have a lot of items that you would normally buy at drug stores for a lot cheeper.

I prefer this ULTA over the nearest one in Irvine/Tustin due to the well maintained displays. They rarely have prices missing or products misplaced, unlike the aforementioned one where employees dont seem to care to upkeep things in order.

I usually like this ULTA, but they only had 1 cashier working and there were 4 - 5 people in line, when the cashier asked if the customer she was waiting on wanted to open an ULTA card ... she did. Then she raised her voice to all of us, to let us know, someone would be coming up to help us soon.

Wish they had a better selection like some of their other locations. I feel like this store is more comparable to CVS and not Sephora.

Lots of selection and mostly friendly staff. Only ulta nearby that carries the Mac line. Unfortunately they do the full Mac makeup here and the artist won’t even acknowledge you. Another ulta worker had to ask her if she could help me with a color match. After waiting for 40 minutes, I narrowed down my colors and asked if someone could just make me a sample so I can try it and come back tomorrow to purchase. I’ve been told by everyone it’s the best foundation for oily skin and photos. 40 minutes and no acknowledgment from the artist and no help. Nobody else is allowed to make a sample. She saw me asking the other associate for help and just proceeded finishing the make up on the other person. I understand customer service, but maybe Ulta needs to have another associate working like the normal MAC counters, or they need to not allow fill makeup which takes more than an hour. Or if they do the full makeup, one artist does makeup and the other helps customers. It’s a popular brand and only at select ulta stores. The girl said everyone has been trained and could have helped me. 🙄🙄🙄 I would have left if I didn’t have a gift card and if I didn’t need this for my wedding and gladly gone to a main MAC store. She finally realized I’ve been sitting there and acted like she had never seen me although we were introduced now 45 minutes ago. I don’t have one hour to waste waiting for a stupid sample this is ridiculous. I even told them my ESA is in the car (AC on and doors locked but still).

I spent a few hundred dollars which is normal every time I go to Ulta & this is the second time they didnt put all my products in the bag. This time it was only a 12 dollar nail polish & when I left the store I went next door to eat outside & was going to paint my nails & sure enough the polish wasnt in my bag. I immediately went back & the manager said I must have lost it in my car...I didnt even go to my car so I had to buy the polish again. I will never shop at ulta again. Bad customer service. Ive never returned anything there but going to take everything back now that I thought about how rude she was to me. Going to call now & get the managers name & will add it to this post. Be careful at ulta & check your bag before leaving.
