If you are wanting a chalazion treated or removed, do NOT see dr Jill Grennan. As I lay in the chair I asked if she got it all, she shrugged and said she tried but “got more than she thought she would” “couldn’t guarantee” she got it all then walked out. According to the supervisor the procedure I’ll describe is how she always treats patients- she cuts into the eyelid and lets it drain but does not remove the entire thing. She acknowledged shes seen other doctors do it the way I had requested in her tenure of work. So naturally it came right back 2 weeks later Grennans way. Waste of my money, time, disfigurement and PAIN. Patients should know what the type of procedure you’ll do and the failure rate before we’re cut into. The reason I’m so upset and know from experience is years ago I went somewhere else where the doctor removed the entire chalazion on my other eye (sac for lack of better terms) under my eyelid and not shockingly it never came back. I should have been given the choice right away to know to go somewhere else if she wouldn’t attempt get it all. YouTube the proper procedure to ensure it’s fully removed without recurrence, like my first doctor had done, and you’ll also see the swelling and pain- to have to go through paying for and feeling this procedure again (properly) is heart breaking to me. *Update- got an email response from CEO, basically saying Im lying and that Grennan had explained that she only drains instead of trying to get it all prior to the procedure which she absolutely did not. Patients are customers, when they ask for a specific service and you cannot provide, explain that to them so they can go somewhere else. AVOID THIS PLACE for any procedures outside of basic eye exams.
This review is only for billing practices, not care received. They charged $42 to take a photo of my eye with a digital camera. When I pushed back on MW Eye care saying that $42 for a digital photo seemed excessive, I got several reasons - the photo needed to be high quality, they would have to store it in my file, etc. Bottom line is they said I received this service (the aforementioned photo) and I would therefore have to pay. Most other businesses would gladly write off a small charge like this if a customer questioned it, just to avoid a negative review and make a customer happy. But not Midwest Eye Care. Ill pay the $42, no problem. But it does make me wonder what would happen if someone were to probe Midwest Eye Cares billing practices to see if they were taking advantage of patients with these types of charges.
I broke my glasses last night. I showed up this morning and they got me in. Thank you!
I am beyond frustrated with this office and will never go back. I had an appointment at the beginning of September for a routine checkup to have my script for contacts and glasses filled. I still do not have a contact script, and have been waiting for two months. I called in August to make an appt, as my contacts were running low. They could not get me in for almost a month for an appointment. When they could get me in a month later, they got me in with someone who was not my doctor. After my appointment, The contacts had to be ordered. I waited a week for them to come in. Once they came in, I had to set up ANOTHER appointment for fitting. I tried them on, and could instantly tell they were not the right prescription, and way too strong. They told me they would order different ones. Those have been backordered, and I still have not received them. In the meantime, they gave me a different brand and type of contact, and said that those should be good for now. The different brand gave me an instant headache, and hurt my eyes. Today I called yet again, and they said they are still backordered. So....we are now at 2 months wait time (just to get trial contacts, let alone a prescription), and I have already had to take time to go in to the office 3 times. I have had contacts for over 20 years....and have never had any issues getting a script renewed, for the brand that I have worn for the past 20 years. At this point, I am about to go and pay cash for an appointment somewhere else, and be willing to eat the cost, as I work at a computer all day and cannot function without contacts that are correct and work well.
It takes a long time. People are great to you.
We love the staff! Very friendly and professional.
Great group of doctors, the glasses are a great price for what you are getting (the best).
Never been here but I called to ask a question and the lady who answered was very rude nor was she any help! Wont be going here!
Dr. Jackson was amazing!
Doctors are great. Glasses are expensive.
