A while back, we stopped for a couple of cones. My daughter got sprinkles, and almost gulped her first bite before we spotted a brown sprinkle MOVING! YES, the thing that looked like chopped up peanuts was a maggot. Before she threw across the parking lot, I had her go up to the window with me to show the staff.Now, bad enough there was a maggot, but worse that they rushed us to the side door and tried to get it away from us, apologizing profusely.The little manager guy blamed 4 or 5 things, and said hed throw out the container. Did we want new cones? YUCK! He offered my money back but I didnt even want bills touched by him. We told everyone on the way out...they were all checking their stuff. Just disgusting.

The ice cream here was delicious, but what was even better was the customer service! the girl there (Annalise) actually knew my sister and we had a very nice conversation with her. she was incredibly friendly and sweet, as were the other workers we interacted with. i definitely recommend this place for great ice cream and amazing customer service (:

My family and I love going to this ice cream shop. Most of the ice creams are made in house and are delicious. Its such a great stop on a friday night on a hot summer day.

Consistently the best soft serve ice cream in RI. (Cant speak to the hard ice cream but Im sure its good too.) Ive been coming here since I was a child and Ive never had a single bad experience. The ice cream is great, the service is great, the people are great.A vanilla w cherry dip is pure heaven.

Good ice cream but I had to leave 3 visits in a row. All done with this place. The open one service window 95% of the time no matter how many people are waiting and leaving. Faster to get ice cream at the supermarket. Completely unaware of what they are losing.

Such a great ice cream shop with wonderful people working there. I am on Weight Watchers and they have an incredible selection of low point options for me and decadent options for my kids. I highly recommend the pistachio Newberry frozen yogurt.

First time at Gelinas last night, and I will be back! The Cookie monster ice cream was the brightest shade of blue, which I crave but can never find but for but one other place in the state. If youre looking for some delicious ice cream at a reasonable price with a ton of variety, here you go!

Gelinas I have to say is in my top 5 for favorite spots for ice cream. Perfect location for this spot a stop light right next to it so if your feeling ice cream then you gotta come here. Open for more than 40 plus years and large menu choice, there is no better place. Depending who is working and the tip or day they are having you definitely get your moneys worth for ice cream. I have asked for a 2 scoop in a cup and got extra. Come to Coventry for your ice cream needs. They are ways busy which is a good sign.

Gelinas had a sign for dairy-free ice cream so I stopped by with a few friends. They had no dairy free ice cream on the menu. Just about every other ice cream shop now has at least a few vegan options on their menu.

I ordered the hard yogurt and honestly it was awesome! Tasted like good ol fashioned ice cream! I only wish I lived in Coventry instead EP!

Small but excellent! Outside seating. Large selection of flavors and types of ice creams. Several serving options in cones, bowls, etc. Service is quick and friendly! 2 serving windows. Personal favorite is soft serve vanilla and coffee swirl in a waffled cone. Parking can sometimes be a challenge but there are small lots on both sides of the building and easy access to a side street. Elevating from 4 stars (earned) to 5 stars (recommended) because this is the single best option for several miles or more and reminds me of the kind of place a little league coach would take the whole team after a game.

No chocolate ice cream with nuts but owner sprinkled nuts on it a good try.

Place has a large selection of decadent treats that will please everyone. Owner is a pleasant fellow and wants you to be happy with your purchase. They take cards so if you dont have cash, youre good.

Im from Massachusetts originally.We did not have places like this ice cream stand on corners where I live.So for me its a super treat to just swing by and get an ice cream.Even in the fall.My kids are a couple of boring borings. with their soft serve vanilla ice cream one with sprinkles one without.But for me. Say what you will. But that watermelon soft serve ice cream with chocolate sprinkles just knocked my socks off.

A must visit place. The options are endless. The small size is enough to fill you up. Kids loved it...a hot summer day beckons a trip here. The only negative is that you are on the roadside, so expect fumes from cars and trucks passing through

Yogurt, soft serve, lactose free; menu is geared to nutritional and dietary needs of the customer. Just ask if you need special handling. Hand packed containers ready for take-home, too. This place is like a staple in Coventry during the summer months. I love going here on a warm night with my husband. This upcoming summer, my son will be able to begin joining us in our Gelinas tradition. The staff is all very friendly and the service is quick. Also very fair prices.

REOPENING RI PHASE 2...Husband and I just stood in line for 7 minutes, watched the 3 staff members and owner, serve family after family, take money, write down orders with pen, wipe down counter with scrunched up, wet dirty orange rags....all with the same CLEARLY VISIBLEY SOILED AND TORN rubber gloves!!! Never once washing hands or changing gloves or using hand sanitizer! We walked away without ordering! I felt compelled to call the owner immediately and he said we wash our hands between every order. I said we watched for 7 minutes n not one precaution was taken to help prevent the spread of Covid 19....he hung up on me. Nice!!DOH notified.

Overcharged, then said there was nothing they could do so I was out the money. Male staff member said derogatory things about me, which didnt help. Technically the ice cream tasted good. So I guess if you dont mind tolerating the inappropriate names the staff call you, and dont mind them keeping your extra change, its fine. Will absolutely not go back.

I live right down the road. My family occasionally goes there after sports on the way home. Cheap, Delicious, and Fast. They have regular soft serve, swirls, many flavors, and theres also other options (Watermelon sherbet was amazing.) They dont disappoint. Sometimes on super busy days it goes slow, but it would still go faster than other places. Highly recommend this After a soccer game or after a long day.

The taste is amazing (so is the size!). They have a relatively quick service and I have never experienced something wrong with my order. The price is a little on the expensive side but its 110% worth it. An amazing place for the whole family, or a group of friends! ;)

Love all the different flavors of Only 8 they have! Cheesecake is my favorite. The homemade whipped cream is absolutely delicious and plenty of regular ice cream flavors to choose from. Very sweet and friendly staff.

Ive been going to Gelinas since I was a kid. Theyre one of the best ice cream places in the area. They have typical pricing compared to similar businesses. My favorite is the Kerrys twist which is vanilla soft-serve and their awesome watermelon sherbet twisted together... So yummy!
