A local gem in crawfordsville Indiana. Great ice creams and shakes and diner favorites. Definitely a go-to if youre in the area. You wont be sorry.

Milkshakes are fantastic and onion petals are great. Slushies need some work but still a great ice cream place to get a snack.

This is my favorite ice cream place in town. Not sure why they cant put a large ice cream cone in a large cup. But I guess I cant complain. Most of the time the staff is friendly but sometimes youll have someone who isnt. So thats really the only area of improvement i could see that may need to happen.

This was our first visit to Big Dipper and all we got were frozen treats. They offer hot sandwiches and sides as well.The slushies were perfect! Very flavorful and perfect consistency.The shake and malt we got were very tasty. (Id have liked a little more malt in mine. Now I know to ask for more.)We also purchased a cookie dough Razzle (think a snow storm at Dairy Queen or a light snow at McDs) and an ice cream cone with 2 scoops. No complaints from those folks!The prices are reasonable and the service friendly. Its a small location on a corner lot with a drive-thru that wraps around the back of the building. There is a small parking lot and even some picnic tables with umbrellas.Theyre not open year-round, so check hours before you go. If you miss them in the Fall, be sure to visit when they open back up in the Spring.

My little girl can not have dairy and loves getting dairy free sherbert with sprinkles. Right next to Milligian Park. Stop by on a hot day. The bumble bee shake is my personal favorite( Hot fudge and bannana). Will be coming back again.

No restrooms here for customers! We had soft serve chocolate ice cream. Nothing special about the ice cream. Neither hard or soft serve is made in house. Prices were reasonable for the cones. There is no seating inside, everything is either drive through or order outside. There is seating outside under umbrellas and a very large tree with amble shade in the park next door. The location to order is all blacktop with no shade so it gets very hot waiting to order.

Run of the mill ice cream stand. Wait times are horrendous for simple items when the line isn’t even long. Incompetent kids working here

Locally owned and conveniently located next to the park. I love that they offer both hand-dipped and soft-serve treats, as well as lots of good food. They keep prices pretty low, even though the quality of their food is high. I had a Superman single-dip cone and my son had a vanilla shake. Both were delicious!There is a walk-up window and a drive-thru, but no indoor seating. They do have a few picnic tables, though.

My favorite local ice cream stop. You get more for your money than at other like businesses. The staff is always friendly and efficient. You can enjoy your treat in your car, at their tables or walk over to the park next door. Nothing like a good soft serve or regular ice cream cone on a summer evening.

I ordered 2 dips of icecream for my grandson and what was in the dish was almost embarrassing for me to hand it to him! I was very upset and disappointed! I have been here before with great service but when I called them about it, I asked for the manager and to my surprise I was talking to the owner, she remembered who I was, speaking of the incident. She was rude and unapologetic! She did say I could come back (it had to be that same day) to get 2 more scoops for free. After what we (my 11 yr young grand-son and I) went through, I wasnt so sure if I EVER wanted to go back!

Love the breaded tenderloins, plus their coney sauce is home made, and doesnt look like minced meat.

Ordered a medium sundae snickers and it was well made. The staff is helpful and polite. Just something remember when going the drive though takes priority and it may increase your wait time to get your order at the other window. Understanding that they only have a limited staff but that didnt hurt my experience. Very enjoyable 5/5 stars

I love big Dipper great ice cream great foodBut over time horrible service each time I go they r rudeToday I went and ordered 3 scoops of butter pecan a flavor burst in a dish and a hot ham and cheese sandwich took 35 mins then we just asked for our money back...now I get food takes time but soft serve or hand dip we waited that long no one was at the window they were busy making other kind of ice cream got the sandwich first after 10 mins then the rest the time just sat there no warning it was gonna take forever so its a one star for me right now

Being coming here since I was a kid. Fair prices, weekly sherbet flavor and next to the park. Service last year was horrid but one bad year out of 20+ won’t keep me away!

Today was our 1st visit to Big Dipper. The food was FANTASTIC!!! The service was EXCELLENT!!! I had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with onion chips,cole slaw, and a chocolate shake. My husband and son in law, both had a tenderloin with cheese and fries. They said they would definitely come back for another. My daughter had a cheeseburger with fries and a blue raspberry slush. She said that it was an AMAZING burger. We found our lunch place. Especially after a day at Milligan Park Pool. Hit the spot...YUMMY!!!
