Flooring America, in Crestview FL, is starting week two of what was supposed to be a 4 day, total replacement of my LVP flooring. The plan was to pour self leveler on a Friday and lay flooring on the following Monday. On 8 October 2021, approximately 2500 square feet of LVP was removed, and self leveler applied throughout the whole house. On 10 October, I stopped by to check on the progress of the work. The leveler appeared to be mixed so thin that it ran through the walls to the exterior of the house, and standing water was visible throughout the house.I asked the installation manager about the amount of moisture in my house, and was told it was nothing to worry about. On 15 October, I asked a restoration company to determine the amount of moisture in the house. The company determined the bottom of my kitchen cabinets were still wet, and the baseboards readings showed they were just below the threshold for being considered wet. This was 7 days after the leveler was applied. Commercial dehumidifiers were placed in the house in an attempt to dry the house out, and prevent mold from forming.Additionally, there is a thick chalky layer covering the initial pour. This indicates excessive water was potentially used during the mixing process. Three days after the initial pour, the muddy areas were patched. However, I believe they were not patched in accordance with the manufactures installation instructions (See pictures). Leveler was applied over the chalky layer of the initial pour, indicating Surface Prep was not accomplished during the patching of these areas. It also appears that the leveler was excessively mixed cause bubbling (See pictures).God only knows what may have been hidden under my flooring, had I not stopped by to check on the progress. The manufacturer of the self leveling compound recommend primer be applied to fix the dusty surface issue, which resulted from overwatering the product. However, we hired a professional flooring installer to fix issues not create them. The team at Crestview Flooring America believes this is an acceptable application of self leveler. You be the judge! The pictures below are of the initial pour (that’s the cream color chalky surface), and the gray in color areas are the patch attempts. There is obviously zero consistency in how this product was mixed and applied. Would you feel comfortable having flooring installed on this surface? Does this even look like a professional application of self leveler?
The staff was friendly and helpful. Was able to pick out my flooring quickly and confident I was getting a quality product.
Spent 12 grand on floors for home carpet started rolling up in all rooms with heavy traffic within two years! Not one room but all rooms! Called and the option was to move all furniture out of each room and pay 100 per room to have it re-stretched. I have built serval home and remodeled several homes and never had this issue! Very dissatisfied! The man that laid the hardwood for same company did an amazing job! Carpet layers I’m very very disappointed! New carpet looks 10 years old!!
