I spent close to a year researching how to get around the profoundly inflated retail climate of the bike industry without settling for low quality or sketchy companies. I came across a Spec in my local bike shop and was instantly impressed. The shop owner told me it wasn’t for sale and it would never be, because the owner of the bike loves it so much. (It was there getting packed and shipped to a vacation destination for the owner).After looking them up and sending an email, I was contacted immediately by Josh Davis. We set up a call to talk through a potential build. By the end of the call, I was convinced this was the right fit for me. And it’s just gotten better and better.Here’s a very quick rundown of some of the ways Josh has made this process the best buying experience I’ve ever had. For anything. Ever.-From the very beginning, he answered every question (A LOT of questions) and offered recommendations from a place of clearly great experience and knowledge.-He took a deposit and held my components until I was able to pay in full. In the present climate, that is amazing.-During the build, when he discovered a problem with the derailleur hanger, and determined that he wouldn’t be able to replace it for a few months (overseas issue, not his), he offered to immediately and completely return my money or upgrade me to a higher model. He didn’t mess around or make excuses. He took care of his customer.-After a few hundred miles, I determined I needed a shorter stem, and he shipped it out right away and trusted me to ship the longer stem back upon receipt.In the end, I paid a fraction of the cost of other bikes in this category, and I was taken care of every step of the way. I have a little over 500 miles on the bike, and it is definitely checking all the boxes. Fast, light, stiff, comfortable, reliable. I truly cannot be happier with the purchase of my SPEC road bike ! To be able to customize it the way I wanted was awesome. I get compliments on the bike on every single ride I go on. Plus, the level of service I received from Josh was second to none . I really feel that I have found a life long friend in him.Before I found SPEC I went to several different local bike shops to purchase my dream bike. I had the worst experience with all of them. For some reason they could not put me in the bike I wanted. And it seemed like I was wasting their time when I was the one that was about to spend a few thousand dollars. Im a new owner of a Spec Crit Pro X and I couldnt be happier! I wish I would have pulled the trigger sooner. The bike is so strong and well built and amazingly light at the same time. The amount of power I can put out climbing is a huge improvement from my old Trek. Plus, it looks sweet with the custom aero bars and DI2 shifter. Im a triathlete and the bike leg is no longer my weakness. I cant wait to get up in the morning to ride!

Got the Stelth R in early June and have put over 500 miles on it so far. The bike fits perfectly (Im 54 and have a tough time finding a build that works for me). Josh asked me a bunch of questions and nailed it. I looked a bunch of other builders and this was a huge value for full Dura Ace and they toss in a bunch of other stuff like a computer for nearly cost. I probably saved at least $1,000. Super happy with this bike!

Incredible bike at a great price! Spec Bicycles provides a truly unique bike for the hardcore cyclist that comes in far below comparable bikes from big name brands.Their customer service is incredible and after working with Spec, I wouldnt consider going anywhere else for a new race bike.
