I took the Gals and Guns class I had ZERO experience. Our instructor, Tony was absolutely amazing! He was funny and engaging. His comment to safety was inspiring.! I started the class with personal feelings of inadequacy and fear. Our instructor, Tony, lead the class in such a methodical way, that he covered all aspects of firearm safety I almost didn’t even show up to the class. I ended up leaving saying GIVE ME MORE 💕The professionalism and commitment to safety is outstanding . Thank you Tony! You changed me.

This place is the best range in the Chicago suburbs that Ive been to. Very clean and never had to wait for a lane. Staff is super friendly. Prices are good. Not much else to say.

My husband and I had a private lesson with Joe tonight and it was so informative. Joe is the perfect person to train a novice. He was patient, kind and made me so much less nervous to shoot for the first time. This is a nice range. Coming from TX where we don’t have any sort of FOID restrictions, I was a little concerned about the rules about FOID holders getting non-residents in. To my surprise, they made the process smooth and painless and me my father and brother had a great time. They have a pistol and a rifle range but you can still shoot pistols on the rifle range. The range itself is modern, clean, and run very well. Ventilation is good and the staff is very friendly. Will go again next time I visit Illinois.

Great experience and well organized class. The lessons were well prepared, effective and covered all the aspects of safety and handling of a gun. Tony was very articulate and engaging. My daughter and I felt very comfortable and confident in our abilities that were taught in a firm, but respectful manner to ensure that we both knew what we were doing.

Great staff. They are polite and courteous . Nice range. I have been here twice in the last month. Used the rifle range both times. Nice selection of rental rifles and pistols . I did rent a pistol to try a different model and buy some ammo my 1st time there. Nice ventilation. Range prices are competitive. People need to realize gun ranges cost money to build and operate. Plus all the permits, business licenses, liability insurance, staff payroll, payroll taxes, ventilation system compliance and maintenance . The list of expenses never ends. I recently took the guys and guns class. It was a great interactive class that provided a lot of information and some real world hands-on experience. Definitely worth the money!

Our instructor took us to this range for CCL renewal. I was amazed by the cleanliness of the range and the staff was great to work with. The staff was very friendly and willing to answer any questions I had. The prices are some of the best I have seen from an indoor range. If you plan on going to the range more than once a month, look into their membership. Lots of different specials going on every week plus discounts.

This used to be my go to range. However, after my last visit and encounter with some guy named Mark, I will not be spending a single dime here, nor will I ever step foot into this establishment.

We just moved back to IL and we were looking for a range close to the house. Very happy to say we found this particular range. The ventilation system is second to none. The staff is attentive and friendly. The rental policy is great. With my wife being new to shooting it is great that we can try out multiple firearms for the single rental fee. We picked up a membership on our third visit. Keep up the good work!

This is an excellent shooting range! Modern, well-run and well-maintained. These guys also set the bar for top quality customer service. Every time weve been there theyve been friendly, helpful, responsive, and several times have gone out-of-their-way to help us with some issue. Even though there are several ranges closer to our home, we keep driving the extra miles to Crystal Lake. On Target Range is well worth the trip!

First time i was there was because i wanted to take a class there. The instructor (Van) was a great instructor and the reason i switched to this range. I plan to take other classes they have to offer. Everyone i talked to that worked at the range was helpful and had a smile on their face. It made me feel very welcome. The outside looks new, nice, and clean. I found the range very nice and well lit (light switch in the booth). I think one of the really great benefits of the range is the fast fresh air exchange rate. Price (summer) was good. only downfall i can think of is, since the rapid air exchange with the outside, then its about the same temperature as the outside so it can get warm. But the benefits of not breathing in that bad stuff in far outweighs having to sweat a bit (which is why i still believe it deserves 5 stars, putting health first). I havent been in winter yet, but heard the range is heated. Overall, i really like this place. Its far out of my way, 2 times farther than my last range and 3 time farther then my closest range but its definitely worth it.

Great range, great staff.I shoot IDPA here and the staff is very accommodating. The facility is super nice. Its the best ventilated range Ive ever been in! They offer great daily deals. Id rather add 20 minutes to my commute and come here and shoot than go somewhere else.

Had a great experience! My husband and I have no gun experience and went for the first time over the weekend. Susan was so helpful on the phone and made extra effort to get us a Virtual gun appointment on a Saturday (and I now know that was a big deal because they were slammed busy!) Glen was our instructor and walked us through gun basics, target practice and some real world scenarios. He was great and helped me to get way more comfortable. We had such a great experience, we are going to sign up for a class.

Came for the first time yesterday, very friendly staff. I felt welcome and taken care of as a customer! Also, The range is top notch, ventilation is the best, bring an extra shirt if you sweat a lot easily, its warm in the range, but I read that this helps for optimal ventilation. I enjoyed my trip to on target. Its about an hour drive for me but I will be coming back for sure just because of the friendliness of the people working there. . As a newbie the instructors were fantastic and took their time with me and answered all my questions. Im very impressed with the wealth of knowledge they all have and their willingness to help. I highly recommend joining On Target and taking a class.The pistol range is my favorite place to spend some free time. It is well lit, great ventilation and always has a safety officer around. 5 Stars!

Best to come before 3pm from my experience here. I personally never had to go to the rifle range because the pistol range is full but Ive seen it happen. Yes this place does have a rifle range as well as a pistol range. Both ranges are reasonably priced for non-members and even better rates if you want to pony up the money for a membership. I found that I dont need to pay for membership since I shoot so infrequently and when I do it is usually on a day where I get 1/2 price or some other sort of deal (look @ their daily deals! ). All and all, I really do like this place.

Absolutely amazing experience! Instructors are knowledgeable and CARING. Incredibly high focus on safety. Great product mix of guns, ammo, supplies, and accessories. Range rates are VERY competitive, gun rentals available as well. Fell in love with this place on the very first visit. I drove an hour to get there and am glad I did, and will do it many times again!

Top notch place to shoot and take classes. I drove over an hour each way to come to this facility when I lived in IL, it is phenomenal! The range is clean, well lit, and everything works! Ventilation is top notch as well.I also took my CCW class at On Target and it was a great experience. Their program, room, instructors, everything were fantastic!

By far the best indoor range in the Chicago-land area. Very helpful and friendly staff, great prices, and a large amount of lanes! They do take lane reservations, which is very nice, and offer a wide array of gun rentals. I have not taken any classes there, so I cannot comment on those. If you are looking for a cheap, very nice indoor range to shoot at, you will NOT be disappointed!

I absolutely love shooting at this gun range. Their rates are competitive as far as range time, and pending on the day of the week you can get in right away. If you are shooting on the weekend get their early, as wait times can reach over an hour. Gun rentals are also very nice, and if you end up liking your rental gun enough and want to buy it, theyll put the rental fee towards the gun purchase. Check it out!

Very happy our latest visit (and all the rest). A gentleman by the name of Mark was cool enough to take some time to help me get my rifle sighted in, as it was wayyy off as it sat. Then after getting me comfortable with getting it sighted in, he wandered next door to my mom who was having a little difficulty with her pistol and offered her some tips and advice that ultimately improved her visit as well. Definitely the best gun range around. Highly recommend for their clean facility and awesome staff! Thanks!!!

I visit this range several times a month. Everyone is always helpful and they never talk down to anyone. The range is well kept and clean every time I go!

My wife and I took the Gun Couples training course at On Target in February. Excellent beginner course with heavy emphasis on safety. The instructor was a police officer who was the firearms instructor for the Algonquin Police Force. My wife was a little nervous about attending a firearm training course but felt more at ease when she saw other women in the class. The class size was limited to twelve couples so we were able to receive individual attention. The class lasted for over four hours (with a few breaks), three hours of class time and one hour of shooting on the pistol range. We felt we got our moneys worth; quality training in a modern and clean facility.My wife also bought a pistol at On Target. She felt good about being able to talk to a women sales person about her purchase; a big difference from some of the macho type gun salesmen we ran into at another store. Nice place, friendly folks!

The Range is an up to date facility, with 1/2 the lanes available for long guns. The staff is super friendly and helpful and are not uptight like some ranges I have been to. I am a member, and it has been worth every penny.The prices are reasonable, with most targets costing only .75 cents. They allow rapid fire, which some ranges I have been to do not. I have even used their gun smithing there, and the work and prices were good.I can not say enough good things about On Target.

Love the daily range deals, great customer service. Only come when its not busy because of all the amateurs I see on date night for example. Had a SUPERIOR customer service experience one time where someone overheard the counter help stumbling to help me, and later someone, maybe the manager, met me on the range and made everything right. Even better than right, they made my experience GREAT! What a great thing to do. This is the range I visit most when Im not headed out to the private club in Waterman, IL.

Best ventilation system around. The split facilities for handgun and rifle keeps noise level down and the all around environment more enjoyable. The staff are hardworking and takes customer service with a sense of dedication and a touch of humor. Also the range is very clean. Worth a visit and the cost is reasonable, even when you dont take the superior amenities into account.

This was actually a cool shooting range to visit. They definitely know what they’re doing there. They’re well organized, seem to know how to do their jobs well, keep the place organized and clean, definitely a place I’d return to to go shooting again.

I have bought quite few toys from here. Staff is great; Range is awesome, and price is very great. I like to go there with my family all time. I dont think so I can go to any other ranges. Every staff member will give you respect even though you are new member there. Mike, Jeff and Geno you all are great staff member.

Met up with my brother from Mchenry and I came in from Wisconsin. No hassles about being out of state. Both Sharon and Mark were a pleasure to meet and talk to. Everything was explained as far as the range rules and off we went shooting.Nice range friendly staff, highly recommend.

My favorite place to shoot! Friendly staff, absolutely spotless facilities. Shooting areas are clean, well lit, well ventilated, and the digital range controls make setting targets a snap.Not usually too crowded, and if there is a wait they have a nice seating area with TV and refreshments available. Easily the cleanest range in the area.

Great place to go shooting. It has two ranges (rifle and pistol), a decent selection of firearms to purchase or rent, and a fair amount of merchandise / other gear that you can also buy.The classes offered here seem to be the best perk, Im always seeing events that they are hosting for a variety of ages and experience.As with any range, the wait times can be extremely long.

A range with specials? Genius. I live closer to another range that I wont name (rhymes with rat runs) but on target has hit the bullseye. On Fridays and Tuesdays two people can share a lane for $20. Holster draw nights are also a huge plus. Id be a member if I werent already a member of an outdoor range.

Fantastic Range and Training Center. Very clean range with superior ventilation system. Both 50yd rifle and 25yd pistol with digital range distance. Super knowledgeable staff, free rentals on Mondays (with valid F.O.I.D.) so you can try out guns before purchase. Many classes to choose from as either a first time novice, or a seasoned shooter looking for some tactical training or home defense training- they have it all.

The range is nice. Good place to shoot. The product selection is minimal though and the pricing is a high. Personal suggestion would be to go here to shoot, but dont plan on finding your firearms or accessories here. Without giving specifics, I bought a firearm here and then spotted it in stock at Cabellas for 100$ less the next day. I also purchased an accessory here and found it on Amazon for 35$ less after getting home. As to their policy of being able to order what your looking for. When queried regarding the availability of many basic firearms, all were unavailable. When ordering an accessory for a firearm I purchased there, the wait time to receive this item was well beyond what was originally stated. I should have just ordered it on Amazon and received it weeks earlier.

Was always recommended to come here by friends. So I decided to check em out and rent and gun to shoot for an hour. Extremely respectful staff, great range, very knowledgeable. So great I ended up buying a new gun on my first visit. Highly recommended, this place is awesome.

Been to this range a handful of times now and am convinced theyre the best in northern Illinois.Pros: If you pay for a rifle lane you can shoot rifle, shotgun, or pistol. Discounted price for two people shooting on one lane. Very clean and well ventilated. Nice digitally controlled target carriers on the pistol range. Very friendly staff.Cons: Wish they were open until 9pm during the week (vs 8pm).

Lots of fun at target range and tactical training centre located on beechcraft in beautiful crystal lake.I went here with a friend and we had a great time trying out different weapons, the staff here is very nice and informative. Will go back if i visit crystal lake again

American Heritage Girls Troop IL3130 had a fantastic time at On Target! Gunny Mike did a great job teaching the girls, ages 7-14, about gun safety, fire arm components, and shooting/aiming technique. We will definitely be back for another class and some target practice.

People are rude and Range Safety Officer cant leave your firearms alone when you step away to help a lerson next lane over.

Small store but has all the essentials. Price was fair on new equipment. Range was clean and has plenty of room. Lighting in the booth did not work on my lane but worked on others. Will use the range again. Staff friendly and knowledgeable.

I brought my daughter in for the tots training to learn basic gun/shooting safety. The instructor Jeff was a great guy who made it easy for the kids to grasp and follow along with simple terminology for the 7-11 yr olds. He got them involved with the questions and answers, which I think helped them remember everything and my daughter absolutely loved it. I shoot there myself and can now bring her to keep practicing, great place, nice people.

This was the first time my son and I have ever been to a gun range. Really like the facility and staff! The staff is friendly and very informative. Ive been back since the first time coming here and will be back again! I plan on taking some of the classes they offer here.

I stopped by On Target for the first time last week, and I definitely be back. The range is top notch, and they allow for larger calibers to be fired ( not limited to .308). Its a bit of a hike for me, but well worth it.

Great place! Tom (Head of Operations) is a great instructor. I have been a member since it opened and have never had any issues. The shooting range is top notch and they dont tolerate anyone skirting the gun safety rules.

I wouldnt believe any of the bad reviews you read. This place takes the cake. If you ever feel like you have been ignored when you are there, its because they can get busy and at times yes they can be a little understaffed (sometimes). If you are looking to buy a gun, I would go in on a Wednesday evening. Im talking from experience. Also see if Mike or Bob are available to help you. They will not only provide you with the best customer service but you might learn something new. The range is the best in the state in my opinion. The most space you will get at any indoor range that isnt mobbed is here. The best ventilation I have ever experienced as well. Whether youre new or a pro, this place is the best. There is one guy there that is rude, and I think hes a manager too. But thats just his personality. If you talk with him a bit, youll see. For other people rating this place, dont be so quick to judge people either. Judge the place overall. Especially if its that one guy that you dont like... On Target isnt a restaurant, its a gun shop and range. And its one of the best in the Northwest Suburbs.

Great Modern Range! I always BZO iron sights and Optics for my rifles, at this range. You can take your time and feel relaxed. There are long waits for shooting lanes, but its local. Range Safety Officers are professional.

Closed due to power outage, no social media or webpage update. Drove 1.5hrs to find out they were closed. All other times great place to shoot.Edit: On Target reached out and made it right. Quality customer service. Still my favorite indoor range

They dont like the fact that you dont purchase ammo or targets from them. Range is clean and well kept. Other than that, there are a handful of the employees that arent friendly at all, mainly the younger guys. They walk around as if its some sort of saloon and you are some gunslinger. Off-putting and intimidating for new comers. High prices for guns too, wouldnt suggest purchasing anything from this place other than range time.

Went to get training this weekend for ccw permit. It was my first time at there facility. I will definetly be back! I have been going to another facility closer to my residence for a few years because of the location. However I will be driving the extra few minutes to on-target from now on. I was very impressed with on-targets facility, staff, and instructors. It was truly night and day to what I am used to. Great place and great people!

Helpful staff...if anythings not right, they make it right Clean and well-ventilated shooting area. They have daily specials: senior citizen discount on Wednesdays, free gun rental on Mondays, free second shooter on Tuesdays, etc. Our club took a basic safety class that was practical, not just the usual regurgitation of what we already knew. Its my favorite indoor range.

I enjoy the range and they seem to have the equipment and essentials you need for any maintenance, customization, etc of your firearm(s). They price very fairly in regards to ammunition and range time, but Illinois seems to be a sellers market in terms of firearms, so theyre prices on firearms seem to be on par for the rest of northern Illinois. My only complaint is the subtle arrogance the counter staff displays, especially in regards to more vetted staff. Instead of being a learning environment, the staff has a tendency to be know-it-all almost in a passive way, however it may be towards me due to my age as Im a fairly young shooting enthusiast. Regardless the way they present themselves to me always seems to be a hurry to get me in and out and that any questions I have seem to be rhetorical to them. This reflects a few of the counter staff, especially Bob, who Ive always felt like I have had a negative experience with. For the most part, newer staff members seem to genuinely want to engage customers and assist them with any issues that may arise. I have had good experiences here, but the bad experiences have definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. I have plans on attending a concealed carry class and that experience will ultimately decide whether I want to continue to invest my time and money in a company that seems to be geared towards their more regular clientele.

A few things. First, its a great range, not a very good store. The staff is cool to talk to and knowledgeable. I did notice it is better to come early or on weekdays because when they get busy they arent as friendly. But thats just like any business. The RSOs can come off a little rude, but hey its a gun range. Better safe than sorry. On the numerous visits Ive made, Ive seen that as long as I show basic gun safety and abide by the rules they will let you be.Pistol range is awesome. Well ventilated, digital distance indicator, and good lighting. However you only have one little shelf for your gun. If you bring three, space is limited when you account for ammo, targets, and your range bag.Rifle range is 50yds and is older. No digital distance indicator. And for some reason, the targets move SUPER slow. And you have to hold the button the entire time. Makes it difficult and time consuming to take your targets father out. The good part is they allow you to shoot standing (not just a bench) as well as shoot pistols too. Very cool. Other ranges force you to shoot sitting at a bench and do not allow pistols.Never bought a gun there. There prices are more expensive then anywhere else. The range prices are 20hr for pistol and 25hr for rifle. Thats comparable to other indoor ranges. However, they have awesome weekday specials like two for Tuesday, free Monday rentals, 1/2 off second shooter, and $5 off early bird Wednesdays.Bottom line, Ive been to other ranges that have friendly staff, but its nice when they actually know what they are talking about and not just cashiers. I dont go to ranges east towards the city because they theyre all Rambo and can be very rude. On target is worth my 30 min drive!

We went there to shoot and they were out of ammo. What kind of a target shooting training center runs out of ammo. No 380 ammo. They had 380 hollow points.Other than that the range itself is nice. Clean and great RSOs.

I bought a Glock 22 that was reasonably priced and was impressed with how they handled the sale. It is my first pistol and I had a lot of questions, some valid some dumb but the sales person was patient and well informed. The range does get backed up but the turnover is quick. I dont care too much about the price only because it is so close to my home where I can put my name down go home then return in 45 min to be called. I will be taking my CCW class there next month and will look forward to more range time.

Its only an ok gun store and range. They seem to be pretty picky about what type of ammo you can use in the range(no steel core ammo). The lighting on the rifle range is very dim so it is hard to use iron sights and get a good sight picture. As for the store, they have good variety products for the limited floor space that they have. However, with the latest frenzy buying of guns and ammo they usually dont have much available to purchase. Other than that the staff seems to be polite and helpful.

Its where I go to shoot and buy. Very knowledgeable. If they dont have it they will get it for you.

OnTargetI’ve been shooting at OnTarget from the time they opened till about a two weeks ago. Two years ago I had to go on oxygen and was able to be off of it for about ½ hour still going to the range. I used this range around 40 weeks or more out of every year to shoot. I had a concentrator that I used in the range the past 6 months but the filters collected the gun powder smoke little by little which was enough to cause the filters to have to be changed costing me $250.00. The company telling me that any smoke or someone smoking I must be far away from it.I asked management about bringing an oxygen tank and keep it outside of the range area and run an oxygen line through the wall from the tank into a booth so I could connect too it, but the owner said no.I just don’t understand that.So now I’m not shooting as the range owners said no oxygen line through the wall so I might be able to connect to an oxygen tank.To everyone at the range it was great and fun, Ill now be looking for an outside range now. Relay to the owners that others on oxygen could of used this also. It would of cost them nothing for me to install as Ive been a plumber for 45 years.

I feel real safe here they also have clean bathrooms I would recommend pooping here.
