I do not really love writing peoples names on Google Reviews and Ive been to this store before and never really thought about writing one. But today was kind of a rough day and to be honest, Jacobs wonderful service in helping me and listening to my shipping needs pretty much turned that all around. He is a friendly customer service person but he also went above and beyond with just being really nice and empathetic. Sometimes it is just that little extra that really makes the customer experience.
I have been using this UPS store for about 2 years now and have had good experience most of the time and some experiences that were not so good once in a while. Unfortunately, today was poor enough experience for me to write about it. I have a mail box at the location and have an account setup. I had a package returned to the location yesterday with no notification that it arrived. Then over the phone I tried to ship the box overnight at more cost than what is inside the package. They response was that I had to go into the location to sign paperwork to ship it again. Keep in mind we had blizzard like conditions at the time and the roads were bad. I went an picked up the parcel and took it to the FedEx store to ship overnight. I will no longer be providing this location any of my business if I can help it. I am sure for them this is normal process to follow and did not see anything wrong with it.
I gave fair warning to Brian, this stores manager, wed be using social media to post our dissatisfaction with his efforts. His deadline was today to have his regional UPS representative call me. She did not.Throughout our ordeal, he never once called me back; I only spoke with him twice (post-damage claim) on the phone, both times when I caught him there. Over the long weeks of waiting, repeated talks with his people, including numerous messages to call me back, never resulted in any effort to reach me on his part. Let me tell you, hes not an advocate for you as his customer. Our $200 prepaid insurance damage claim was denied by UPS (check their fine print for all the excuses they use), which is simply wrong.I dropped off a bubble-wrapped glass framed photograph in a sturdy, well packed box here mid-October, and when delivered, the glass was shattered and the autographed, certified photo was severely devalued because of all the glass scratches. My face-to-face drop off day discussion with Brian included my question should we put a FRAGILE sticker on the box? Brians answer was that doing so would insure damage by UPS workers, so I went with his advice. After reporting the damage, Brian was briefly encouraging about a partial reimbursement, but that never materialized, along with very little effort by him, on our behalf.Bottom line: Dont ever patronize this business. Your bad experience will eventually come, as indicated by the other one star complaints posted here.
Worst customer service ever. Stopped in to ship a package. Absolutely no one was in the lobby. No customers, no workers. I called out not once but twice saying “HELLO!” I even had time to look up their phone number thinking maybe they’d hear the phone ring. Instead, I thought I’d peak around to the back thinking they couldn’t hear me or were out back smoking, I don’t no. Not stepping into the back area mind you, just at the threshold. I had been there a good 4 minutes. That’s when I saw a door open and I could read the front which said “Restroom”. The woman comes out and starts yelling at me “YOU CAN’T BE BACK HERE!” I said “Well, no one was out front.” Then she yells, “I HAD A MINUTE SO I THOUGHT I’D GO TO THE BATHROOM!” Which I would’ve been fine with because I do understand. However, there was no reason to yell at me and make me feel like it was my fault nobody was at the counter. I grabbed my package and left. I don’t need to be treated poorly when I can drive 5 minutes down road and go to another UPS store. Which is what I did. The Woodstock store had two employees. Someone immediately helped me and ANOTHER employee (imagine that, two employees) helped the person in line behind me. I will NEVER (yes, now I’m yelling) go back to the Crystal Lake UPS store. They’re not pleasant AT ALL.
Kind of a bummer, because I want to support this small business. But, man, when you lose a package, at least talk to your customer and discuss the problem.
Keep up the good work. You guys rock. Always busy but dont wait long.
We had 5 very heavy moving boxes not make it onto our POD despite telling the professional packers our desires to have some lighter weight items left until the end. We were quite upset about having to take these 5 very heavy boxes filled with China to UPS. Crystal Lake UPS was so kind and understanding and worked with us to get these boxes repacked and shipped quickly so that they these items would be there when our moving truck arrived at our new destination. They were very professional and made an upsetting situation for us less upsetting. Highly recommend this UPS.
4:00 PM on a Friday (today). Two female employees at the registers. One other patron in the store. I don’t think they were so bogged down they couldn’t afford to be pleasant or polite. I said hello and set my Amazon return on the counter, then held out my telephone with the UPS return code showing. What I received in return was a blank stare and a monotone voice asking, “What do you want me to do with that?” I have never done an Amazon return at UPS. I’ll tell you one thing: They ain’t no Kohl’s! Rude and they made me uncomfortable.Follow up: Since I had never done an Amazon return at UPS I did not know what to expect. I asked if would receive a receipt since nobody was offering me anything and just stared at me; waiting for me to leave. They told me I did not get a receipt, but I could take a photo of the label on my package, which I did. I am now making my Amazon returns at the UPS store on Algonquin just east of Randall Rd. They have been very helpful, pleasant and polite. They have given me a receipt every single time I have returned a package there!
Very helpful from the moment I walked in the door. They had access to a computer so I can look something up on my email and print
Top notch with customer service in every aspect. Personable, friendly, helpful, efficient, professional. I definitely recommend this store for your mailbox rental, shipping, printing, notary needs.Need special attention for an out-of-the-ordinary circumstance? I think you will find the staff at this UPS Store to be most accommodating.I highly recommend!!!
We find these folks to be mostly pleasant, and mostly efficient. Have never had a package not arrive at its destination. The staff has good knowledge of procedures and rules. Pretty good, reliable local business.
Got my product sent and signed. But the verification paper had 2 mistakes only in spelling. Their attention to detail is an 8 or 9 out of 10 but it got corrected with ought any drag. Still happy.
Excellent service, very helpful!! They are all very kind, and willing to assist you!
Unprofessional. Lied to me that Amazons new policy is no receipt after I requested one. One button pushed and this post wouldve even been here. Two days later went to a different UPS receipt was printed without even a question.
Rudest employees ever. Two ladies working there I was standing in for a good 5 minutes and not one of them acknowledged me. Then when I finally made a noise they both look annoyed like I was bothering them.. lol oh well I guess Ill take my business elsewhere
Went in for a quote to ship an unpacked item . felt very rushed and the clerk was quite sure i intended on giving her my business before she even gave me the price. she seemed annoyed that I questioned the extremely outrageous price and then responded that the post office charges more. i have shipped through the USPS bfore and never paid more than the $10 for the lightweight items i was shipping. this place offered zero customer service and i happy to go wait in line at the USPS to save the money.
I have been using them for about 3 years. They do amazing work. Very fast, reliable, and reasonable pricing. I would recommend this store to anyone!
They do so much more than ship packages for UPS... you can get a PO Box with a real address, large printed posters and pictures, and so much more!
Whenever I order a package they are consistently missing my house and I have to go and pick it up.
Smart, fast and friendly people. If you are looking for professional people that truly understand the meaning of service, this is the place. Printing, packing, shipping and more, there is no better place to go than the Crystal Lake UPS Store.
Over the last 2 years, I have gone here for Notary, Print Jobs as well as Pack & Ship. Staff is always very helpful and prices are reasonable. Highly recommend!
Brian & Tori are very helpful every time I go in there. Great store, great people. Thank you!
Rude and not helpful. Wanted $40 to send a box to LA
I was at the door 4:01pm with 30 prepaid shipments and the guy locked the door and said he cant take anything.
I don’t know why I even come back to this location. The employees that work here are consistently rude. Worst customer service. Go elsewhere!
Service was slow but friendly. Interior could use some cleaning and straightening up...
This store works very slow. I filed a claim with my damaged product. They said they would get back to me with any information they had. i never once received a call from them with information. The only time I received information was when I would be persistent.I will not use this store again. The only reason I gave them one star is because I had to, or else I couldnt post my review.
Great prices. Very convenient to email stuff to be printed and pick up later.
Made a drop off here a few weeks ago, staff was nice and friendly
Great service, always working to please their clients . Customer Service at its best
