I have 3 units and have been a customer for 10+ years. Recently they raised their prices over 60% in 1 month, from $104 to $165 per unit. I went to start getting stuff out of my units one evening, and to my surprise, they had put their overlocks on all of my units. After calling them the next day, they tell me that since I was on Autopay, they can’t charge me the new rate, even though they have in the past. After looking at my CC statement, I find that they have actually charged me twice, meaning I have overpaid. They also have now assessed me 2 late charges, even though I have been over billed. I tried talking to Chris, the manager, which I have found is useless. He doesn’t care that I showed him my CC statement, because his computer says I only paid once. Says a lot for their accounting if they just pocket an additional $312. Chris also can’t give me any phone number to call, since it is “Corporate”. Having found that it is Jefferson Home Builders that owns them, I call and leave repeated messages, with no call back. Basically, I have been over charged, even after a ridiculous rate hike, can’t get in to my units, and can’t talk to anyone other than a useless Chris, and can’t get a call back. After calling other storage facilities in Culpeper, every one of them is cheaper than the new prices at Montanus, so the “ we raised our prices because we were too cheap compared to the competition” story I got from Chris is bogus. If JHB accounting can’t realize an additional $312 from me, it really makes me wonder what other accounting “irregularities” they have.

I wish I could give no starts the mice tore my brand new furniture up. It was infestation of those nasty things and still no resolve from management!!! Iv been keeping record of every conversation and all the dead mice iv killed from setting my own traps,they will regret the lies. Especially by telling me they have never had mice before and my research proved that was a total lie. I even went as far to contact every landlord iv had in the past two years to prove iv never had a rodent & iv reached out to the previous tenet of my unit who had the same issue SMDH. Please be warned.

Plenty of spaces and decent prices for storage. The place does a good job of working with you for your storage needs.

I started storing here because of the price. I stayed because it is a well-run clean facility with helpful easy to understand staff.Rules are simple. Access is secured, but easy to manage. I feel my things are safe here and I do not worry about them and isnt that the point of a storage facility?

The units are available 24/7 which is fine. The staff seems to be totally incompetent. The roads need quite a bit of repair. Decent location.

Not a bad place except lots of mice and snakes in storage units. Make sure everything you store is sealed if you don’t want it ruined by rodents.

Too bad they took the dumpster out because people were too lazy to throw it in the dumpster and left the trash all around it too bad they dont have a public restroom anymore which was a nice benefit of storing things there because people trashed it I pray to God I never use storage again not worth it
