Got a trumpet for my son here. Great selection, friendly helpful staff. Cost of many instruments is about 10x what I can get them for elsewhere. I hear claims that these cheaper instruments break easily and cannot be repaired. I am buying a cheaper trumpet also, and will compare, and update this review with my findings.

Great place! Purchased a cello...the instrument is beautiful great quality...shop owner was willing to let us put the instrument on layaway which was awesome...paid for it picked it up the staff is so friendly!

Great place with great people. It may be a little more pricey than online, but definitely worth the attention and care you get in return. The only drawback is their hours. It is challenging to find time to make it up there with a full time job.

Simply put, the care from the staff exceeded my expectations. Jims knowledge and experience with the clarinet had us feeling that we were in good hands. He then took the time to chart and tune our potential purchase and provided my daughter with some helpful tips for her upcoming college auditions. Don and the rest of the friendly staff worked with us to get the purchase approved. To top it off, I paid hundreds less than the lowest price I could find on the internet. I would strongly encourage anyone looking for an instrument or equipment to contact Central Instrument Company.

This is a wonderful shop that has been a god send in times of need. We first started going here about four to five years ago on the recommendation of my daughters band director after an extremely disappointing encounter at Woodsys. While Woodsys claimed they couldnt repair my daughters clarinet because it was cheap, old, unidentifiable and too complicated, CIC easily identified it and explained how simple of a fix it would be. They had us a customers from that moment forward.The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Repairs are always performed in a timely manner and meet the estimates given. I agree with the reviewer who says the hours can be tricky, but its well worth it to find the time. We have no complaints and recommend this shop to anyone and everyone who asks about an instrument shop.

Do not rent your instruments from this company. They are not truthful in their pricing. I signed up for the rental program of 18$ and some change. Somehow they switched it to their rent to own program of 27$ and some change. Bad business.........

Staff might be friendly, only because they have to make up for the horrible attitude the owner has.He has been known to send threatening letters from his lawyers to anyone who writes a truthful review. Or any teachers who don’t want to use his instruments for their students.As a consumer I believe that I should take the opportunity to write as many reviews as I can, wherever I can, to educate others and keep businesses honest. That’s what social media is for.Instruments and accessories horribly overpriced...google it. “Vintage” instruments are just instruments they found in people’s attics or basements and “fixed up”.

Been going there for 2 years, today I tried to find somewhere closer but failed we went to Imax and really crowded cant find anything on our own we got no help, we were standing and waiting for half an hour finally heads to the door and left. As we walked in at CIC front door and right there we were greeted and got helped so fast in less than a minute we walked out from that store. Thank you and you will see more of me soon.

Awhile back I was looking to get my bari sax fixed and my natural choice was Woodsys because it was closest to where I live. (Ravenna) and it was insane! They charged a TON and it would have taken three months! And I needed it in two weeks. We were looking for better options and there really arent any close. I discovered CIC through my band director and it was kinda far, but I needed my instrument fixed so I decided to go out. They were great! They got my bari fixed in about a week and a half and for like next to nothing! And the service was great! Ive gone two more times since. Once for my other instrument and one time just for accessories and it was a good time each time I went. I highly recommend them if youre able to go. You wont be disappointed!
