Definitely a hidden gem! This was a wonderful experience and I do highly recommend. The service was phenomenal and the atmosphere was great too. The food was very flavorful and the waffle was made so well that you didnt even need the syrup. The Buffalo Mac and cheese was so great that it actually surprised me.I know I will definitely be back for sure.
What a great restaurant. Show up early on a Sunday because it will get busy very quickly. Nice and clean, indoor outdoor seating. Lots of items to choose from on the menu and the drip coffee is actually really good. Next time I’m in the Bishop Art District I will be stopping here to try more of their menu.
My family and i were in the area so we decided to have brunch here after church. i love the bishop arts area overall (based on what i’ve heard) so it was great to finally hang out in the area and get some food. the service at Oddfellows is phenomenal. i kinda wish the seating was better but it’s okay. i had the fork and knife breakfast which was really good but i was turned off by the fact that my eggs weren’t fried over hard. my sister had the buffalo mac and WOW!!! the chicken is *chefs kiss* AMAZINGGG. it made me wish i went with my first instinct and order the chicken and waffles. my brother had the french toast which is good but if you’re a texture person then you might want to tread lightly choosing those one, it’s pretty doughy. i think it’s bread pudding french toast. anywho, i can’t wait to come back and try more options on the menu!
The atmosphere and service were great at Oddfellows. However, I was not fond of the food. I was warned that the shrimp and grits was very spicy, which it was. It wasnt terrible, just not the best. The Buffalo chicken Mac was also a lot spicier than normal. My husband ordered the French Dip. He said it was OK. The best meal at our table was the chicken and waffles and the appetizer blue crab hush puppies. Daughter loved the waffle and the chicken was fresh! Our server was great! He knows his stuff. Sorry I forgot his name....I may go back for the hush puppies and a drink.
Came here for a quick bite to eat with a friend and lucky for us, it was happy hour. They had $5 cocktails and $6 shareable plates. The cocktails were great and the shareable plates were more than enough to hold us over for dinner. They had outdoor seating as well, which was nice considering the weather was perfect.
We loved it here! The inside isnt that spacious, but the food is worth it.We ordered coffee to start with a brisket hash, the eggs benedict, and pancakes. Everything was great, but the eggs were the best cooked eggs benedict weve had in the DFW area. Most of the time its like a boiled egg on top with little to no yolk, but these was perfectly cooked.Highly recommend for anyone looking for a nice brunch spot. Because youre in bishop arts, theres also plenty of little shops to visit while you wait.
This day calls for brunch 🌅🌞.••Grabbed some delicious brunch @oddfellowsoc in the bishop arts district. The key to this visit was to get on the wait line on yelp. Which was about ~2hrs but once we got there we waited about 30 mins. The food was delicious and tasty. Despite being a busy place the waiters made sure you were taken care of.••What we had:Chicken fried steakBrisket hash.
I had high hopes for this place since it seemed so popular, however; it turned out to be one of the worst brunch experiences we have had in a long time.Seated at a table in the sun while shaded tables were available on the side of the restaurant. The table was dirty (like most of the other empty ones) with bird poop - which the server never offered to clean. To make matters worse, we were placed next to other patrons with two large dogs - one which smelled and regularly barked at others.Continuously fought off flies throughout the meal.Continuously.Rescued a FEW from our mimosas - including one before our first drink. Guess the flies didnt mind the dirty glass I had been given. Turning the fan on would have helped with the flies. Cleaning more thoroughly would have helped with the dirty glass. The mimosa carafe should have been served on ice - it was truly warm by the second drink.Paid $40 for one order of chicken & waffles (which tasted fine) and a mimosa carafe. Somewhat steep for the very unpleasant experience. Will be avoiding this place.
Besides the long wait, that is an indicator of popularity, this place is awesome. I love the chicken and waffle. Some of the best Id had. Also note that they dont serve drip coffee after 3pm if thats what you are craving. After 3, you need to order from their coffee specialty menu, which means no bottomless coffee. Parking is tight on weekends, take your car to nearby streets to avoid valet parking.
Brunch was not out of the ordinary, but they had a few items on the menu which are worth trying. I had the chicken and waffles, they were a miss for me due to the lack of seasoning. The chicken salad sandwich was great! Would have given 5 stars, but it was a little dirty where we sat and there were so many flies. If yall go and its nice out, please sit out!
I wish there lattes were as good as before, other than love the buffalo Mac!
The location is fun, the food is good, the day we were there they were short-handed so the service was slow but it was an enjoyable brunch.
1st time patrons in this Bishop Arts District restaurant, and it did not disappoint. We got there slightly after 5p, and it was happy hour with sharables for $4. Homemade Pinmento Cheese dip, Hummus & Pita bread, Fried Green Tomatoes, Deviled Eggs. We had 3 of the 4, and were delicious!. Entrée orders began at 6p, so we opted for the Grilled fish sandwich and Beet & Pear Salad. Awesome choices! I got cold, so I ordered their house made coffee. Nice!We plan to return on a weekend for their brunch, but told it can be a 2 hour wait. Wow! So, go early, 7am to try and beat the wait.
Great food and staff. The French toast was excellent. Quaint little place, decent prices, and great food.
My husbands go to place for breakfast although if you arrive past 10am ( on weekend ) you’ll see a long wait time it’s still worth it with those red velvet pancakes and fresh orange juice. Parking can be tricky but always near the restaurant. Customer service good as expected. While waiting make sure to check out the near by shops :)
Quickly going to become a regular here, it’s a hipster atmosphere with good portions, I ordered the oddfellows Benedict and subbed out the ham for smoked salmon. It was great their hollandaise sauce is more dairy and yolky then Le only and I liked it a lot. I came here for the pork belly Benedict but they don’t serve that anymore. Good place try it out.
The food is really good! The Waffles are great, service is good and its a really cozy place. Only reason Im giving 3 stars is because the chicken fried steak was really bland. No kind of flavor. The pictures we saw looked so delicious but, nope, didnt meet our expectations
EXCELLENT, friendly service. Great food and drinks, pancakes are HUGE and delicious! Highly recommend this spot to anyone. In a great area with cool art and shops
Amazing little gem! Was searching the area for a new spot to eat and stumbled onto this while walking somewhere else. Great environment and even better food. My buddy had the chicken and waffles and I had the Odd fellow Benedict. Phenomenal. We splurged and shared the buffalo Mac as well! So so good. Espresso was fantastic. Service was professional. Must visit little spot.
Will never return. My daughter and I were yelled at by a man I believe to be the owner of Oddfellows. While asking if I wanted more coffee, he saw we were upset. He asked if there was an issue and when my daughter tried to explain that we had been waiting quite a long time, he started yelling at us that any restaurants in the area would be the same. He would not let us explain that it was not just the wait but how we ordered that was the issue. We were seated for 10+ minutes with no contact. During that time, two other parties were seated. Once the server arrived, she took the orders in reverse of the seating so the party that just sat down ordered first thus taking our order last. For some reason, once the food started to arrive, both the other parties got their orders within 5 minutes of each other but we were still without food for more than 20 minutes after the second party got their food. This is when he approached about my coffee and would not listen. This man was so aggressive that I was actually scared he would get violent. We were shaken and asked our server if we could cancel our order and get the check for the drinks. He then arrived with our food claiming it had only been a 20 minute wait. I got him to calm down long enough to explain but he interrupted me asking if it was the servers fault. He jokingly said he did not like her anyway. I did not want him to scream at her as he did at us, so I told him that I did not believe it was her fault as she probably did not know who sat first. We have never been treated like this in any restaurant. I am a pretty bold woman but I was truly frightened by his behavior. No owner or manager should treat customers in this fashion. I reached out to the Co owner Amy Cowan but have not heard back.Eat there if you like but dont say a negative thing when asked by a tall thin man with crooked front teeth, unless you like being verbally attacked.
A bit pricier than we expected...but wait! Theres more! The menu was a perfect size, the food was perfectly prepared without being boujee, hot!, heartily portioned, made with quality ingredients, and it would seem the employees were compensated well. Happy environment, not too loud, great service, accommodating, not pushy, maybe a little quick to clear the table, but it was hopping, so... understandable. Overall, great long-awaited date night.
Hip dinner that aims to present as a high quality restaurant. Basic American food and overpriced drinks. Staff are nice and place is clean and has a nice ambiance. I would rather sit outside and get there in time for happy hour.
The wait was a half hour but that’s not bad for brunch. Took forever to get our food. the beignets were TERRIBLE, like I’m pretty sure they just fried some old biscuit dough or something. The rest of the food wasn’t bad it was goodish. Had to flag down 3 different waiters to get our check, that process took about 30 mins. We just wanted to leave.. go somewhere else, it’s not worth it.
Great food!! Would recommend the French Toast OMG!!Nicholas was our server and he was awesome, he truly made our Sunday a Fun Day!!
Cool atmosphere. Drinks were ok. Ive heard they have the best guacamole in town but unfortunately when we went the kitchen was closed. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
The place had pretty good food, just the service is horrible. Server didnt acknowledge us until about 10 min after arriving. Then came with waters and said they would be back. After about 20 min of being here we finally had our oder taken. Food took about 30-40 min to arrive and throughout that whole wait the server never returned. The server only returned after we got up to ask for anything. This was a Tuesday afternoon.
Great place for brunch! We had the Bread Pudding French Toast and the Brisket Hash for a sweet/savory combo. Both were delicious, with lots of flavor. Cold brew coffee was great too. And the location and ambiance of the restaurant for the whole package together.
Nice little place to relax or have an informal meeting. Great tasting menu. The coffee is legit. But also true to definition sizes (espresso cups are used for more than espresso). If youre not sure, the staff is happy to help. Very warm and helpful employees. Small, shared, free parking lot around the back (farther than gps will guide you)
Best cheese board in town and wonderful coffee
The atmosphere was great, however, the food was a bit horrible. In my personal preference, the steak was too well done and too chewy. The fries that came with it were too salty. Also, the mac and cheese did not taste that well.
Wait was long, but was expected. The waitress we had was very rude and nasty and acted like she didn’t want to be at work . She got snappy with my aunt which we came for her birthday. Terrible customer service and they messed up our foods order took about and hour and half to get all orders and still where messed up . We asked for a manager and a pregnant lady who was the manager on duty was no help all she did was make excuses for the waitress’s terrible customer service . First and last time coming here .
The service was good, the chicken and waffles were really good but a few items on the menu were not that good. I will give it another try!! Oh the fresh squeezed orange juice is amazing!!!
For some reason I keep coming back thinking I’ll have better service the next time…..I guess it’s because Oak Cliff is limited to decent food…somehow every time I come here they mess up the order. They like to charge $4 for 2 overdone pieces of bacon, meanwhile completely change you order for you and you don’t realize until you’re home. Mediocre and overpriced food. Find the skip button and drive across the bridge for breakfast. You’ll be doing yourself a favor.
Really cute spot today for brunch. There is patio and indoor seating. The menu is pretty straight forward. I chose the chicken and waffles with a side of grits. The mimosas were delicious. Everything is reasonably priced. Freshly prepared. the interior made this casual dining experience all the more wonderful. I would highly recommend!
The food was really good the only thing is that the dishes smell nasty as soon as I took a sip of my drink you could smell like fishy. There is only so much a dishwasher can do should have people hand wash them with a bit of bleach and the smell will go away.Food was good smell ruined my appetite!
I am editing my previous post to 1 star because of my most recent experience. I had breakfast here on 10/30/2021. After leaving the restaurant and walking about 1.5 blocks away, I realized I had left my sunglasses on the table so I came back. A new party was already sitting at the table and my glasses were no longer there. When I spoke to the manager and the waitress, they acted so unbothered, said they did not see them and refused to show me the camera footage to understand what happened to them, without any explanation.I am (was) a regular customer here, coming almost every weekend and really expected more from the management team. Disappointed and angry is an understatement.
The beignets tasted more like yeasty wheat bread covered in powdered sugar (honey on the side). Chai latte was good but nothing special. Big patio.
I came in today for brunch. I wasn’t wearing my mask for several reasons. I went to put my name in and the three hosts up front told me to put on my mask. I said “no that’s ok”. To my surprise, one of the hosts was wearing her mask below her nose so I asked her to pull it up if she was going to make me put my mask on. She rolled her eyes and put it up. As soon as I walked outside she slipped it right back down. I went back in and asked to speak to the manager about this issue. I see her standing in the back corner where the food comes out of the window without a mask on. Not even strapped around her face. And while I was waiting for her, I saw one of the cooks wasn’t wearing a mask either. I don’t care if people want to wear a mask. That’s their choice. Because we’re Americans. We have a choice. But for an employee to tell me to wear a mask while she wasn’t even wearing it “correctly”, the manager not wearing one at all, and A COOK HANDLING FOOD not wearing one either is absolutely absurd. At least be consistent. Either enforce it or don’t. And don’t insist customers wear masks when 3 people on YOUR STAFF aren’t wearing them either.
Disgusting service! After 45 minutes we are asked to sit in the in the muddy puddle table at the back of the restaurant, HORRIBLE!. Thank you for allowing us to take our mimosas our money at better restaurants within walking distance.
One of my favorite places to eat! Great atmosphere, great food and excellent service!
Awesome service! Yummy food. The Buffalo tenders and Mac and cheese were delicious.
Energy, food, staff and music will always make me come back. This place has it all! So happy that restaurants are opening again 💜 this is a favorite I will always take friends/family to.
Delish!!! Ordered the chicken linguine and it had so much flavor! My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and it was delicious as well. Clean and friendly environment.
Breakfast was delicious and the servers were very friendly. Laid back atmosphere with a full coffee bar and adult beverages.
Oddfellows is a charming place that offers some of your basic foods with a slightly gourmet flair. The ambiance is pleasant and we were promptly greeted by Marcus A+. The food pictured is the brisket hash, breakfast sandwich, and OC cheeseburger. The food was good but not extraordinary B+. Check-in through the YELP app to decrease your wait time.
Been here a few times. Hit or miss on the food, no consistency at all. The only thing consistent is that the service is absolutely awful every time.
Seriously good. Try a Ding Dong. Those things are really good. Beware, theres always a wait so prepare.
Nice, little, cozy restaurant with outdoor seating serving up some favorite American fare food. Their biscuits were doughy and soft with honey and butter were served to add more goodness to your taste buds. Their chocolate chip pancakes had more chocolate in them than Willy Wonka himself. Their brisket needed some work, everything was good besides their brisket. It tasted as if they cooked it too long in the skillet making it crispy which I did not find pleasing. The fried potatoes were good but I prefer mine to be more crispy. The vanilla latte to top it off was super smooth and the cream on top was thick and fulfilling. Great spot for a Saturday brunch. Get there early to great parking because is limited.
Yeah, my wife took me to Odd fellows for my first time going. I had their limeade drink, which is really sour. I tried the lemonade and that was to sweet but I know what you are thinking, mix them. I did but it didnt taste great, but their water taste great. To eat I had Chicken Salad Sandwich and my wife ate Chicken and Waffle with gravy, which was savory!!
Cute little place! They played a lot of oldies like The Beatles and Queen. The waiters were really friendly and attentive. The Mac and cheese with Buffalo strips was amazing.
Very good coffee (and I am european, so you know what I mean 😉)
Great little Italian restaurant. Very reasonably priced and good food. Plus BYOB!
The food quality is good, and the earnestness of service is there, but they are always stretched a bit thin.
Awesome local spot for food and drinks.I like that the menu changes a bit to give variety. Drinks are are great. Have to try them out if you haven’t been here
Eggs. Simple. Cook them to temp. Also took 45 mins for one order. Wish I had a pic. Eggs looked brunt. And no jelly.
Had chicken linguine. Plate was warm but the food was cold. Presentation was left to be desired.. Shirt staffed. Both Food and dessert took a while. Staff were nice. But the food was a disappointment.
Good food but there are flies and bugs everywhere. I could not enjoy the meal because the flies are landing on my food and on the table continuously.Staff seemed unaffected by this filthy infestation.
Tried the French Toast was good👍🏻
