I have been an LL Bean customer for 65 years. Certainly this is not the complex of mega stores in Freeport Maine. It is however a beautiful representation of the Bean product line and in my opinion the staff is extremely helpful and courteous.Beans products are not cheap and in some cases the quality is not quite what it used to be, however I find the occasional sale item and still enjoy shopping here.And no, there is no longer a lifetime guarantee, however a year is certainly long enough to determine that a product is not performing.So, I still say LL Bean gets 5 stars.

L.L. Bean customer service is absolutely one of the best companies i ever dealt with, there return policy is incredible.The jacket i purchased is so light weight and warm is the greatest.

I just recently placed a hold on some beach towels and forgot to pick them up. The nice associate called me before putting them back and was sweet enough to send them to me. With the craziness going on in my life right now I really appreciated that. Excellent customer service! Will definitely be shopping there again!

I walked in the door and was greeted by a very nice person. I asked a question and they walked me over to the location of the hats and sunscreen. What store today go s out of there way to help a random customer? It was so nice to be treated as someone important. Still my favorite LL Bean store in the lower Hudson Valley.

The customer service at this store is phenomenal! Linda was great, she took the time to assist me in finding my size in a pair of jeans. Will definitely return!

They didnt have what I was looking for in stock but I was able to try on similar jeans to find a comfortable pair that fit me and get them shipped to my mailing address in less than a week! Amazing customer service and great products as always!

Ive never before walked around a wondering did I already shoplift something? Did I want to shoplift something and they read my mind? I dont think Im a shoplifter, am I a shoplifter? Why are there more staff members on the floor than there are mannequins? Is that mannequin also a staff member?Yes. Yes he was a staff member. There was a greeter that I 100% mistook for a mannequin, he then greeted me, and informed me he was not a mannequin. He may still be a mannequin.

I think that they are building their team back due to Covid-19. There was very little staff in this store

Brought a pair of winter boots back whose stitching was deteriorating along a seam that were purchased before LLBean changed their satisfaction guarantee to its current 1 year from the former lifetime. It is clear that the damage is due to a manufacturing defect and not neglect/abuse. Store said that they only honor the new return policy even though these were purchased before they changed it. This is unfair to those customers who purchased prior to 2/18 (when they changed) who made their decision on purchasing here based on this policy. Such people should be grandfathered. Was even willing to work with them to have the 1 boot repaired by them at their expense but they still were unwilling. This is not right!. This is a severe blemish to a company whose foundation is their superior customer service

I came here to get a pair of snow boots. I found a pair I loved, but they didnt have my size in stock. The sales associate checked the online inventory and they were also sold out. He then checked all of the the stores in the US to see if they had it in stock. He found 2 stores that had them. He called one and set it up so they would ship it to me for no shipping cost. Great service! I just received my boots and I love them! Whenever we come here the staff is great!

Great LL Bean location, typically the staff are good, and the store is fun to visit. I cant rate it 5 stars purely due to the quality issues with clothes (especially shirts and other tops, for some reason, though less so with pants and winter coats) - they just arent made well and are of lesser quality materials and theyve increasingly been this way for 10 years or so.The high cost of these lower-quality clothes was supported by LL Beans stellar returns policy; moreover, I was willing to take a chance with purchasing clothes there since I knew I could easily return it if necessary. But with the end of the easy returns policy, theres simply no real reason to purchase clothes from them anymore - there are better places to get better quality clothes, typically at a lower cost.

Great quality in all their stuff and the price reflects but well worth it. Staff is super friendly and always willing to help. Love the 25% sale days!

Went to this location last week in search of a good pair of boat shoes and hiking boots. Ended up with a new employee and she was beyond helpful, they did not have the size in the style I wanted so she was able to get one ordered and then tracked one down at another store, both came in quickly and without shipping charges! I could not be happier with the service that was received.

Very helpful staff in terms of discussing the benefits of different products and which would best meet my needs when I was shopping for new hiking shoes or boots. Great sales periodically like the 25% off almost the whole store this past weekend. Fun toys for kids of all ages for outdoors. And, as always, top quality clothing!

Poor customer service. We traveled an hour to buy boots and shoes for hard to fit feet. The first two sales people told us that they would not have us try anything as they did not carry the correct width. The third salesman we interacted with was helpful allowing us to try on shoes for fit, so that we could order the correct fit. But, the store had limited selections

Clean looking store and merchandise neatly displayed. It was quiet in there when we were shopping, thus all employees kept coming up to see if we needed help. So we felt obligated to buy something since they were so helpful. Thus, husband got a new wool baseball style cap. 😊

From the moment I spoke with a rep via phone to figure out what kayak was best for me (and he listened so very well...better than my son or husband 😊), to the tremendous effort in getting the kayak safely hitched onto my car...ll bean Danbury provided me the best customer service I have had in such a long time. Will be heading back soon!

Great selection on items! Way more than you find online and in the catalogue! They even have slim fits and signature items! The staff was very friendly and the store was very clean! Move over J.Crew!

The manager and employees are racially profiling individuals and harassing them while they shop. I would stay far away from this brand and location.Please read below.This incident happened yesterday.the store manager of the L.L Bean in Danbury. Tonight my two friends and I were minding our own business, shopping and chatting with each other. While in the store I noticed multiple employees were following us, coming too close to comfort as if to “confront” us. My friend being of color, felt very offended and violated as she seemed to be the target. When this woman approached us AGAIN after we stared back at her, she proceeded to come over with an absolutely DISGUSTING attitude. She informed us “security cameras are watching you guys” all while smirking and demeaning my concerns. When I went to the counter to purchase a pair of moccasins, I asked to speak to a manager. The employee called up the manager, just for it to be the employee who verbally berated us. I voiced my concerns as an adult and in a professional manner and was met with the same hostility. She smiled and advised us “it’s all good, security is outside waiting for you.” When I inquired what the issue was that lead to this treatment, she stated “our employees overheard statements, it’s our job to watch you guys.”This manager clearly is on a power trip, and deeply offended myself and my friends. My friend was brought to tears in the parking lot. I cannot express into words how offended and upset I am. I have zero tolerance for hate or discrimination of ANY kind and this needs to be addressed. I purchased my merchandise as there was nothing to hide and nothing to prove. Still was belittled by this manager as she snarled while I exited the store.I strongly encourage this post be shared, it’s not right for situations like this to occur. After calling the store number, once again the concerns were minimized. There is and was absolutely no reason for this treatment, and while assumptions are not facts, this event when looked at in context would offend many people. No one is looking for any reparations other than a formal apology. Disgusted in L.L Bean and this tolerance for hate.

Helpful sales staff.

The staff here is great but if youve ever been to their Freeport, ME store then this is a big let down. These small stores cant offer the full LL Bean experience. They mostly have clothes and shoes in this location with a very small selection of outdoor gear. If youre looking for a quick fix of basic LL Bean clothes, then this will probably work for you. If youre looking for a large selection of camping or outdoor equipment, youre better off going to Dicks.

I went here after our house burnt down and we had no clothes to wear. Sam Dodge helped us access our accounts, gave us a discount, and literally gave me and my fiancee her jackets. She was kind, caring, and went way beyond the call of duty. Customer service like this stops you in your tracks and reminds you of the goodness there is in the world. We are llbean customers forever, and will be going back to this store again and again.
