We will definitely purchase any additional furniture needed for our deck in the future from Great Escapes. The salesperson was very helpful and friendly. He kept us informed as to when our table and chairs would be in and in fact, it came in earlier then he said. We decided to pick up our furniture and the person in the warehouse was just as friendly and helpful as our salesman. Very pleased with everything!

My husband and I have bought all of our patio furniture from The Great Escape because of the amazing quality! We stopped in looking for something and ended up falling in love with a pergola that was on the showroom floor. We were hosting a party the next afternoon and asked if there was any way to purchase the floor model and have it setup by the start of the party. The owner went out of his way to make sure we had the Pergola installed in time! We were in the store around 4:00pm and at 9:00pm a delivery truck showed up in our driveway and delivered and setup the pergola. I will be a customer for life and recommend this place to anyone. Customer service goes a long way! I was thoroughly impressed!

My husband and I purchased a 30’ pool from the great escape in September of 2019 and planned to have it installed in spring of 2020. We were building a home 2 hours away and confirmed that this would be no problem for an install. That was our first major issue. We could not get anyone from the company to follow through with a delivery date let alone an install even though we had paid for the entire pool, system and accessories, and install! Finally it was the middle of the summer and we decided we just wanted our money back for the install and we would go elsewhere for help. Here it was a super hot summer and we had a pool sitting in a box in our garage with no way to use it. What a pain just to get our money back. We ended up not having all the supplies we needed to actually set it up and paid way more than was ever discussed. We also paid the up charge to get the robotic vacuum they highly recommended—come to find out it is a joke and doesn’t even work right. I am thankful we moved and now get to work with a competent mom and pop pool store. Never again will we work with the great escape.

I purchased a Jacuzzi hot tub from the Great Escape in Davenport yesterday. The buying experience was superb. We worked with Jay and he answered all of our questions without hesitation. He knows the products very well. The financing application was simple and we are looking forward to our hot tub when it’s delivered in a few weeks. We will definitely be back to this store. I visited the Great Escape on 5/8/21 looking for Chlorine tablets for my pool. There was a guy unloading boxes putting together outdoor furniture standing nearby who was not a floor salesman. I had questions about the chlorine and he assisted me and recommended the correct pool opener kit also and even carried my 25# carton to the check-out counter for me. Great service! I highly recommend the Great Escape for pools, furniture and other entertainment needs. We purchased a bar, barstools, our pool and chemicals from this location.

Eric was very helpful emailed me pictures of what they had available. Drove down and bought the theatre seating had a call Monday for Thursday delivery was really a great shopping experience and Great Escape did exactly what they said what they would.

We came into the store looking into a hot tub with a zero knowledge base and left there feeling well-informed. After much thought and many questions we chose to reserve a Wellis spa. Jay was quite thorough without making us feel pressured to buy. We are glad we chose to shop here.

We bought a large Visscher gazebo with the understanding we needed it setup before Easter Sunday. We were told this would be no problem. The installers came on 3-30 and couldnt finish because the vendor sent 2 beams the wrong size to construct the roof. After calling Great Escape today, we were told the vendor cant deliver the correct parts for a week. They would not overnight the parts and fix their screw up. The product specialist we worked with has been sympathetic, but no authority to help us.I have 22 family members coming for Easter. The gazebo would have provided additional comfort for the family gathering. Extremely disappointed!

Stop to buy chlorine and they are limiting how much you can buy. I live 25 miles away and this has been my 4th trip to get some. I usually like supporting local businesses but I’m done with Great Escape. The get your money for a pool and then it’s all over. No more nice guys they got you.

Initial was terrible. Getting anyone to return calls was near impossible. The incorrect size was given to the installers for our pool to be installed and we had to pay for the extra digging on Great Escapes error.Crystal from our most recent visit was a rock star and most likely will only deal with her in the future if we decide to purchase our hot tub from you or seek another seller.

I was nervous about getting a pool. What kind to get, what would be best for our family. All that nervousness went away as soon as our salesman started showing us the different pools and packages! He was awesome! From getting us the pool we needed, everything, up to getting us all set up and comfortable with our choice! We have always had a great experience at the Davenport Great Escape. Whether we are browsing or buying the staff are all nice and helpful and exceptionally knowledgeable, if its not their specialty they get you someone who can answer ALL your questions.We had a rough year last year with a pool install and miscommunication, and Great Escape was always amazing with us and worked hard to get our issues resolved quickly as possible.

When my husband and I made the plunge to finally get a pool for our family we were so excited when we went in in January of 2021 our salesman was great we paid for everything in full we were told that our pool would be installed end of may maybe the beginning of June and we were good with that we got our contract via email no other contact then we got a call saying they were coming on the 10th of June once again we were ok with that June 10th comes they deliver our pool NO installation so I call to find out what’s going on I have left many messages no return calls it’s been two weeks still no call back that is very unprofessional our salesman Doug is very good at sales but will tell you what you want to hear just to make a sale he is in the process of becoming a manager and lies to his customers I very upset with this company they are NOT standing by their word and trying to put everything on the Installation company today is June 22 and the installation company calls me and tells me that they will be out to install our pool in the middle of August I totally understand that it is a busy time of year for them but just be upfront with your customers do not lie to them I have Referred many friends and family to this company and now a few of them are in the same situation we are in being lied to and just giving us the runaround so when you are out shopping for pools be very careful get dates and everything in writing I would not ever do Business or recommend this company to anyone so please be aware

We bought a pool here a year ago and a hot tub this year. Our salesman was great and took his time to give us details and help us select the best item for our needs. Only ever had 2 issues. The first was for the pool purchase, we were promised I believe it was 30 month no interest or something like that which is why we chose them over other stores offering only 12. However when I got my stuff from loan company it was for 12. I called store and he apologized and got it corrected. 2nd issue was with the install company. First they wanted to schedule for Spring even though it was still only end of August. They finally setup for fall. They came over and leveled the ground and added sand base. Said theyd be there next day to setup pool. They arrived however it was so windy they couldnt. Next available day was over a week later. OK understandable. However in that time rabbits, squirrels etc had ran threw sand and left divots. Assumed they would level it back out before installing. However after the install and we filled out pool and filled around with dirt and did everything they said, we got in and there was divots all over and not just small ones but some several inches around. Very lumpy floor. Was told they would have to have us fully drain pool so they could level it and then refill it. However thatd be following spring and of course they wouldnt cover the water cost to have to fully refill our large pool again. This was at no fault of the great escape. They were friendly and kind and did everything they were suppose to. Thats why we bought the hot tub from them. We even mentioned we had planned on buying a new pump (1.5 year later) as we wanted a 2 stage. Salesman apologized that he had not offered that when we bought the pool and offered to let us bring it in and just pay the difference and hed give us a 2 stage. Love this company and in a year when we pay hot tub off well be in to buy our patio furniture next.

I dont give reviews, but after the great service I received from Crystal at the Great Escape, I felt moved to! She went so far to give me her cell phone number to send pictures of my test strips to get expert advice on how to treat my pool water. Shes been a great help and I couldnt imagine doing it on my own. Their products are great and priced very well. Thank you very much!!!

Purchased a pool in early July. Sales person confirmed style and size were available and in the warehouse. Opted to have the pool delivered a few days prior to install in September.Installer calls in September confirms pool install date. We spend the rest of the day scheduling permits for utilities locate and sand delivery. We then get a phone call from great espace saying our pool is not available.What happened to our pool? Did someone figure they could sell our pool and get a replacement back in the warehouse in time for our install two months later?We are told by great escapewe wouldnt receive our pool until October. Contacted installer, they stated they had no idea when they could install. Most likely scenario, we would be looking at next spring or summer for the next available install date.Cancelled Pool!!Great way to do business....not so great escape.

I cannot begin to tel you about the excellence of service this company has!! We worked with Nick in purchasing our pool and he is AMAZING!!! So helpful, so friendly and the communication is excellent!! He always emails me back ASAP and has all the answers to my questions!I was in a panic today when the inspector told us we needed a fence around the pool! I nervously called to see if they had any (since it is pool season) and Crystal looked it up in the computer plus she walked back to the warehouse to be 100% sure they had it! She marked the boxes and typed up an invoice while we were on the phone! I think she could tell by the panic in my voice I needed that fence. I got to the store to pick it up and OMG she was also freaking amazing!!! She walked me through how to start the process with the pool and chemicals, she walked me around the store and explained everything to me in detail and she even wrote down step by step how I needed to do everything! She gave me her phone number and said to call or text her anytime and she would love to help! I am telling you, I used to work retail and this level of customer service is the best around! We were in the Davenport store looking for patio furniture. We told Crystal what we were looking for and she showed us some great options. She helped us get the correct covers for the new set as well as for our existing furniture.She ensured we had it delivered as promised. My fiancé and I drove 1:45 minutes to go to Pleasure Pools & Spas and walked in to inquire about pools. We were told the one person they had was busy all day and told to take a card. That was it! No help, nothing. We left unhappy and pretty discouraged that this guy that worked there didn’t even try and help us with our questions after driving so far. We left and went to The Great Escape and was instantly greeted with smiles and everyone we encountered was friendly. The exceptional service we got was with Doug. He sat and spoke to us in detail about the pool packages. He is very knowledgeable, honest, and had a great personality. We left with all of our questions answered and even if we don’t buy a pool, which WE WILL :) he deserves a shout out! So THANK YOU DOUG for the amazing customer service! You turned our day around and made sure our trip wasn’t for nothing, even though you never even knew our previous experience and travel.

Horrible service bad customer service Got a 24ft and was never was shown how to run the pool and had to backfill the dirt by myself and remove the 8 foot of dirt myself talk to the manager didn’t make a difference all they care about is making a sale …never again

FIrst time reviewer here....we just purchased a hot tub from the Great Escape. The delivery was ok, but when we realized the hot tub didnt have a lift assist and the speaker was not working we worried a bit. Troy and Eddie came out and fixed the speaker and installed the lift today. They did a great job, were personable and very helpful in explaining things. We appreciate all the information they shared! As I read other reviews I noted that Krystal is a very common denominator in the great service experienced by many customers. The same applies to my experience! From the moment I walked in the door Krystal made me feel like her foremost priority! She was knowledgeable, helpful and responsive. She even went as far to personally deliver my outdoor rug that had been on backorder. Krystal is the kind of employee any business would be fortunate to have! I appreciated all she did for me and hope her quality of work continues to get noticed and rewarded.

The customer service at the Davenport store is light years ahead of the Peoria store. If you are located halfway between the two, Do yourself a favor and do not go to Peoria!

I cant begin to say enough about the staff and products that The Great Escape carries. I came in to shop for bar stools and the staff was very eager and professional to help. We ended up with beautiful Amisco custom ordered bar stools for much less than we could find online as well as a brand new Bullfrog A8 spa!! This store is amazing and worth checking out whether youre in the market for leisure product or not. We worked with Doug and could not be happier with our purchases and experience. We are new to swimming pools, got ours set up and the water was brown from our well water. We had our water tested and purchased the chemicals we needed. Their great staff took the time to go over our water results and wrote out great instructions for us to follow. Thanks so much for all your help. Our pool is blue, clear, and ready to swim in.

I would never recommend this company to anyone. Ever. Bought a pool on May 8th. Paid $5,500 up front. We were told the pool would be installed at the end of May. An hour before the pool was supposed to be delivered on May 29, we get a call saying it’ll be the next week. Finally got the pool on June 2. Next we have to deal with Bureau County Pool Installers. They continuously changed our install date: End of May, first week of June, June 10, June 28, July 16, end of July sometime (they were unsure of the date). So on June 24 I called our sales rep, Doug & canceled the install. He said we would receive the refund (around $1300/1400) in 5-7 days. We found an installer locally who would install the week of July 6th. This same day, the installers call once again and now say mid August. They had no idea we canceled them. They were never notified. July 6 there’s still no refund. It’s been 12 days/8 business days since Doug told me we’d have our refund. I call Doug. He assured me he called corporate on this day and they were mailing the check this week. On July 9th I speak to the manager, Jay. He tells me he’s spoken to corporate and the check will be mailed July 17. I get a long list of excuses & zero solution. Now we have no one to install the pool until September. Granted, both Doug and Jay are very friendly but Jay is also great with the long list of excuses. Great Escapes and Bureau County Pool Installers are the absolute worst companies I have ever dealt with. I highly recommend finding a different pool company.

The biggest down side to purchasing a pool from them is the company they contract with to do the installation of the pool. We would not recommend Bureau County Pool Builders, as their communication was terrible and our pool install was rescheduled 5 times (2 of which was weather which is expected/understandable). Staff from the GE even had trouble with getting someone on the phone from BCPB.The staff at the GE was very knowledgeable and friendly but one staff in particular is the sole reason why they have not completely lost our business (because we can buy our chemicals and other pool needs elsewhere). Darrien is amazing!! She not only returned my call (when other staff wouldnt) she gave me her cell number so she could walk us through the initial chemical plan needed to get our pool up and running. She even checked in on us the next day to make sure everything went ok. We are so thankful for her help and she is the only reason why we are giving the GE a 4 star review. It would have been a 2 or a 3 because of the installation headache but she saved it by all the personalized help she gave us. We suggest the GE look for a new company to contract their pool installs because they will loose business over it.

I purchased a hot tub from them on May 31st. The salesman told me there was a chance I may not get it till July 1st. At that point I told him nevermind, as I did not want to wait that long and was willing to continue my search at other stores to get one sooner. He then gave me the ol salesman line well let me see what I can do for you.... After some looking around on the computer he tells me he can get it to me June 16th. I excitedly tell him its a go. 2 days before the delivery, they call to tell me its not in stock and itll have to be July 1st. At this point Im already invested with time and pouring a slab for the hot tub to go on so I reluctantly say ok. The delivery was set up for July 1st 10am to 2pm. At 1pm I get a call from the delivery company who tells me they sent the drivers over to pick up the hot tub and its not there. I go to the store and talk with Jay (the GM) who tells me he has no idea when they are comming in and gave me my money back. His word exactly there is no accountability on my part because its not my fault, its the factorys fault for not making it. Im upset because I was sold something that didnt exist in the first place.

While all of these are positives, they have exceeded all of our expectations with their quality of service. I truly love their customer service they are so willing to help with anything you need! In August my pump went down and I had to get alot of plumbing fixed my pool went dark green!! Crystal Lambert one of the product specialist suggested I use green to clean instead of algacide and my pool was back to blue in 2 days! As long as I have a pool I will continue to give my business to The great escape!

Meh, in there for 30min looking at hot tubs. Not one person asked to help us and they were not busy.

This place is by far the best pool supply place in our entire Quad Cities. They also have the best rates on chemicals and all the supplies you will need for any type of aquatic activity. They also have the largest inventory on display of patio sets. This place is huge!!!

Well just purchased our first pool here. I would give them a 5 star but there was a few things that I was just not to impressed with. First thing is we was not greeted when we came in . Second, there was not enough staff there to handle all the customers that was in there at the same time . Thats just a few thing I noticed. But on the up side of things . The salesman we had was very very helpful with helping us get the pool that would fit the family needs and wants . Very knowledgeable in the pools and answered all the questions I throw at him . We was there a couple hours get everything done, just wished they had a kid corner. And a changing table in the mens restroom. But so far, so good......

I walked in looking for clips to hold pool cues on my newest project and was surprised when I found exactly what I was looking for on the first try. To make matters even better, I was shocked when they couldnt find a price for the item and they negotiated a VERY fair price with me. Excelent experience and very helpful service. Thanks again!
