Stanton exceeded my expectations! They give a very thorough eye exam and everyone I met there was efficient, personable, and helpful. They have many more frame styles to choose from than is on-line! It was a very pleasant experience with no pressure to buy. I highly recommend Stanton. Danielle was especially helpful in explaining my insurance, copays, and she was friendly and pleasant to communicate with.

About 6 months ago I went in and had an easy and quick eye exam, and found frames that were perfect. I was heart broken when I broke them!Yesterday I went in to see what they could do to help me.Danielle and Miranda were fantastic at finding my frames in store, and switching to lenses our right there! I am so thankful that once again, it was a easy and quick experience!
This place was amazing! The girls there were very friendly. My sons favorite color is green and he was over the moon when the girl custom tinted his sunglasses green! He couldn’t stop talking about how amazing it was that they cared enough to do that for him. And to get them the same day was an added bonus!
My son needed to get his first eye exam and was very hesitant about the process, along with feeling insecure about needing glasses. The staff were incredible with him and took all the time we needed to explain the process and make him feel comfortable. The prices were very reasonable and the fact we could leave with the glasses without having to come back later was fantastic. And free lens cleaner for life is pretty great, too!
My husband needed an eye exam, after years of putting it off, he finally decided to go. Stanton was able to get him in the same day. The staff was great, made him feel comfortable about the whole process. Due to going in late Saturday afternoon before closing, he didnt get his glasses the same day. Totally understandable as he didn’t expect to get them for a least a week anyway. When he was told they will be ready on Monday, we were pretty shocked and he “excited” at the same time(his 1st pair of glasses). I’m pretty sure he will be a customer for life!
This is now my go to for eyeglasses! Excellent service and very personable staff. Update: In store customer service is excellent however their order status system is in dire need of improvement. I have tried on multiple browsers to get my order status without success.
The people who work here are very nice, but the fact that I have to wait over a month for contacts because they forgot to place the order is unacceptable. I was told the contact order would take 5-7 days to come in, its now been over a month and I wouldnt have even known the order wasnt placed in the beginning if I hadnt kept calling and stopping in to check on my order. No one there wants to take responsibility for the mistake at that office and I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Catherine helped me find new darker tint sunglasses and Sara on the left sold me anti-fog lens wipes that really prevent mask-caused fogging. Thrilled to have gotten those wipes.Catherine sold me new sunglasses with high index lenses and the darker tint I wanted. She explained everything carefully. She took measurements for pupil distance (something the competition up the road doesn’t do).Best of all the price, after discounts, for everything was about half of what the other guys charged me.I have been wearing glasses for decades; this is certainly the best optician I’ve been to. Very highly recommended.
Not really sure what the negative views are all about. They made me feel welcome the moment so walked in the door. I got exactly what I wanted and needed. I am definitely making this my go to for eye care. The ladies were awesome. Don’t read into the negative comments, some people will never be happy and it shows. 🤓
I had a great experience from beginning to end. Catherine was the one who essentially guided me through the process. The negative reviews here seem to be from those who still expect for their hands to be held when handling big boy/big girl tasks. They had technical difficulties when I went as well. It’s technology, genius. Of course they will encounter issues at some point. As far as not hearing of a virtual exam, you should do your research before you seek any medical care or treatment. The entire staff was kind and welcoming towards me. We held great conversation while trying to correct the technical difficulties until we ultimately had to rescheduled which was fine. She was extremely apologetic about the situation and I told her to stop b/c it’s out of her control! Definitely recommend this place. Ask for Catherine if you go, she was absolutely amazing in helping me through the process and I look forward to my appts.
I have been to a lot of vision care places and by far this one is the best. Their website is the most accessible, user friendly, and informative website Ive seen. The people there are not only friendly but funny and hold lots of experience as well as personal experience. They have quality service, and products for a very reasonable price. They have my business for years to come.

When I first walked into the store, I was not greeted, but was allowed to look at various frames by myself. I believe this was because all of the employees were busy helping other people. I picked out a couple of different frames and asked one of the employees for her opinion. After choosing a frame, Sara helped me through the process of choosing options. Everything was illustrated on a card on the counter and she explained all of the options to me. Ended up, I got a lovely new pair of frames with no-line tri-focals, photo gray and blue light filter for less than I paid for the glasses I was wearing and that was without using my insurance. Ill definitely buy my glasses at Stanton from now on.
There is a disconnect between the store and the customer service department as well as an overall lack of professionalism. I was initially given a significantly higher Rx for my contacts so I had to go back to have it changed. I updated my prescription and was told I would receive it in an email. I waited over a week before I called and had to ask why I hadnt received it yet. The customer service had no idea they were suppose to send me my prescription. A week later and I receive an outdated prescription. Im still waiting for my updated prescription. Would not recommend going here. They have cheaper prices because there isnt a Doctor in-store to check eye health, only to give prescription, which in my case was significantly inaccurate.

This place in an emergency was awesome they took my insurance but Ms Danielle made sure my daughter and I got the best deal she worked a miracle Miranda made the eye exam so much fun thanks to these ladies for helping us in an emergency It was different experience because the Dr were virtual but they got the job done

Made an appointment over the phone. Had an eye exam at 1145am. I was the only customer in the store with 2 employees. One was the service technician and the other was the sales clerk.The service technician did a fine job of the pre-screen process and the ophthalmologist was televised remotely. After the exam, I was instructed to wait in the lobby for my final prescription. After some time of wandering I asked the clerk for a time estimate. She didnt know. I requested some estimate of 5 minutes???.... an hour??? since I had to go back to work. I said I had to leave and she said I needed to pay for the prescription (not complete). I paid with no issue, collected a receipt with the clerk telling me she would call when it was ready. 525pm and no call back. I phone the store and it was a call center. I asked if the prescription was ready? And made complaint. Then the operator contacted the store directly and the manager said they had no record of y order. I had the receipt in hand and requested a refund. I was told I have to go back to the store to do that. I requested a call from the manager - no call back. I want a refund for my exam payment of $89.00

I will never trust them again. I cant see well with my glasses. Had to have my cataract follow up. They checked my prescription and found they were nothing but clear glass! No wonder I couldnt see with them. Never again.

Not good service! Not very good selections of glasses. They broke in a couple weeks. Went in to reorder. 2 weeks later didnt have a reorder. Can not talk to anyone at the store. Just poor business!

Weirdest appointment I have ever been to. Staff dressed unprofessionally and doctors were all online for a virtual visit which was so weird. Glasses and lenses were crazy expensive. Found an adorable pair of Timberlands which they had for $160 and lenses were at least another $100. Told the lady they were discontinued and found them for at least half the price online. She was annoyed after that. I also had a contact fitting and they were going to order contacts for me to try. Told her I had used Acuvue Oasis before and they didnt work so needed a different brand. Two weeks after my appointment I called to see if the contacts were in and they were not because they didnt them. Then told me they would expedite them. A week later after that I call and they are still not in. I then ask what brand they ordered.... Acuvue Oasis!
I scheduled a same day appointment after waking up with an eye infection. No point in my brief visit was I asked the reason for my visit. I received a very brief exam by the receptionist and was put on a telehealth call with who I assume was an optometrist (she did not introduce herself). She flew through her “exam” to give me a new prescription, which was fine, but also not the reason for my visit. Before I could get out a single question she ended our call, and the receptionist ushered me out to the lobby so I would shop for glasses, again not my reason for the visit. When prompted by another employee to pay I finally exclaimed I was experiencing an infection and was told nobody on-site could help with that. The fee was $75 and a waste of my morning. Heading to a real optometrist now to spend even more money.

Absolutely Amazing Experience- Made an appointment via call to set up an acceptable date and time. When walking in I was greeted right away and taken back for my exam after a short survey. This contactless experience was quick and exactly what you would expect in modern day America from any business from the Covid-19 response. The staff are pleasant and will definitely help pick out the right style and package for your glasses. Highly recommend this business to those looking for a very streamlined way to get your glasses.

What a horrible experience with this facility. Went in for an exam and got the wrong prescription, which I discussed the moment I put the trial contacts in. The store manager was pretty rude and dismissive initially but I tried to rectify the situation by calling to get the issue resolved the next day. Was told to just walk in on Saturday, so I did. They were obviously busy but the manager kept making eye contact with without saying anything and after a while I left. Called in later in the day and spoke to an associate who was going to give me a refund. Ended up getting another call from the store manager a bit later, and no surprise, she was so belittling and kept talking over me on the phone. She ended up hanging up on me because when she said things like common sense says you should have came back at a later time and I told her I did as she instructed and corrected her on how everything transpired she got angry. Called their corporate number and relayed everything that transpired and Im currently waiting on a resolution. I also disputed the claim on my card. Absolutely poor customer service from the manager, what an emotionally taxing situation. Now Im stuck with a prescription I cant use, and a bill for it on top of that.ETA: The 1-800 number wanted me to come back to the facility for another exam, but it is not worth being subjected to being belittled and degraded again.
I have been seeing another eye group for years but they no longer accept my insurance. I found Stanton on list of providing eye care groups so imade an appt. The store itself looked completely unorganized. I proceeded to the back where the exam rooms were and i was greated by a WONDERFUL tech who was extremely courteous and friendly. I completed the exam and it went downhill from there. One gal was explaining to another how she didnt want to get yelled at and was refusing to service based on being yelled at they were both doing this infront of a customer. I am COMPLETELY unhappy about this whole experience. I have insurance that would have covered my visit but i was told there systems have been down allday, so in turn I had to pay out of pocket, when i could have been told prior about this and could have rescheduled. I did in fact recieve my contacts but wasent even offered solutions or carrying cases. They were not helpful at all. I am furious that i had to pay when my insurance covers and the assistant stated how she gave me a few discounts. Dismissing the fact i had to pay when i shouldnt have. Completely unhappy

She is so caring and compassionate!! Just met Sara tonight and she too, is AWESOME! These to women have made a situation bearable for me!! Called the phone number listed to see if they accept our insurance. Definitely didnt get a local worker, got a rep in a call center somewhere- who I could barely hear over her background noise. Instead of helping me determine if they would accept our insurance she told me about their out of pocket specials and asked when Id like to make an appt. When I again asked her to verify they would accept my insurance, she asked for more info about services I needed and offered ann appt. Again I wanted to know if they accept our insurance first b/c I didnt want to pay out of pocket when Im already paying for my insurance... She hung up in me.
I went on Feb 6th with 3 people one including myself. The staff was good and helpful. I was given a date to receive our glasses and that was two weeks out 20th. That date came and only one pair was ready and the second pair ready a week later 27th. Still waiting on the 3rd pair of glasses after 3 weeks March 2nd. Iasked if I could have a full refund back. I was told Id still have to pay for eye exam. I dont recommend Stanton optical after dealing with all of this. Not to mention the prices are outrageous and the warranty wasnt explained well because its a joke.
I tried to get a pricing on a years worth of contact lenses, and they were very negligent in giving me a price. I did not appreciate that at all, especially when getting a not so nice response after that.
The sales person was great because hes the sales person... I got a great deal! However! Nobody even likes to hear however because now its followed with something negative... These people told me my glasses would be in by a certain date they werent in by the certain date and now Im being told I have to wait another 3 days.... I got my exam done and they said would take about a week to get used to my new glasses. I gave it 2 weeks. About fell off a ladder at work. Redid my exam. Got glases back a second time. They are to strong. NOT RIGHT PRESCRIPTION AGAIN!!! WASTE OF OVER 400 DOLLARS!!! I think they should just take glasses back and give me my money back
Ohh my I visited Stanton Optical about 6 months ago but, right after I broke my Android and started using IPhone in which I didn’t think I could access my google reviews! I got it downloaded and HAVE to share my experience here, it was absolutely awesome! The staff was super kind and knowledgeable and willing to help in anyway they could. I LOVE that they got my glasses ready so quickly, given that my glasses just broke and I was unable to see driving and at work. I was finished in time for work an I believe her name was Danielle who took care of making sure my orders were complete & I was fitted she was awesome to work with. I would recommend this place to everyone looking for glasses, because my budget wasn’t the greatest but you’d never know that. Their glasses are cute and durable.
Prices are very misleading. They don’t explain things well to you. The eye doctor is through a webcam. I also spent 2 days trying to order my daughter new glasses. The first day they pulled up her prescription and then hung up on me and let the line keep ringing when I called back. Then today when I tried calling again I talked to the same person from yesterday and all of the sudden they were not able to find mine, my husbands, or my daughters prescriptions. I now have to go to the next state over and physically go in to an office to get this figured out when I’m high risk and not suppose to be going out at all but they are making it impossible to do it any other way. I would give 0 stars for the review if I could.
Had I exam on 2/5/2020 and is now 2/19/2020. Called to check the status of my trial contact lenses and they have only one with no way of tracking the other. I understood the service I was receiving with a Virtual Eye Exam, but 2 weeks with only half of my trial lenses? I chose not to order my contact lenses online because Ive never had the particular brand the Virtual Doc recommended. When speaking to the Stanton optical representative she said she would have to send an email to find out the status of my other contact lense. It seems to me that they have the ability to stream line an eye exam by cutting out an actual physical doctor in store, but cant do the same with a product. I get these are trial lenses, but they both came from the same brand. The cost to order them in store are higher, but I also believe in buying local. However, this time I will be ordering online through a contacts reseller. Doing this I will have tracking information and order updates. This will also be the last year I use Stanton Optical. When it comes to your eye health, speaking directly to an Optometrist is crucial.
Danielle was wonderful, she helped me pick frames that were best for me, was well informed, and very nice. I am unable to get my regular appointment at the VA until May, so this was worth the money 💰!
I was thoroughly impressed with Stanton Optical in Davenport, Iowa. In fact, I experienced the best eye-care service I have ever had. Sales Manager Korey Thomas conveyed his extensive knowledge about eye-care and answered my many questions with an exactitude I had not previously experienced with eye doctors offices. He was thorough, yet expedient as he attended to the many tasks at hand, all the while providing outstanding service to myself and the others in the center. Mr. Thomas provided me with multiple cost savings during the experience and I was able to get two pairs of glasses with very specialized lenses for less than the price I paid last year for one pair. He not only exhibited a mastery of all of the technical terms, he helped me to understand my eye needs in a clear and warm manner. I received exceptional service from the start of my visit until I walked out the door, and I am confident that anyone who walks into the center will be treated this way.
This is by far my favorite eyeglasses place in town, they were very kind and helpful in every way I will be returning for my next check up the doctor was great even though hes on a monitor and the eye check was done completely remote. The ladys were great too!!!
I was shopping around for somewhere to get a new pair of glasses and I came across Stanton in a Google search. The prices were just right but boy did Danielle exceed my expectations!! She was superstar from the moment I came in the door, and stayed with me through the entire process of deciding which frames I liked and then customizing my lens package. 5-star service hands down! Good turn around time and super staff. Will definitely be back in the future!

I must say hands down this was the most amazing experience I have had while purchasing contacts/glasses. Thank you Danielle. I apologize in advice for the long post but it has to be said! I have been wearing glasses/contacts forever and have never received better service. I decided to try Stanton Optical in Davenport because of the convenient location and their appointment windows worked best with my busy schedule. I decided I just needed a 6-month supply, I made an appointment, walked right in and was seen by the doctor right away. The actual eye appointment was quick and easy. I got my trial pair, they ordered my 6-month supply and they notified me that once they were ready I could come pick them up. Long story short it took a little trial and error to find the perfect contacts for my eyes (because I wanted to try a new brand) but Danielle made the entire process easy and most of all pleasant. I went in for the follow up visit and needed a stronger prescription in one eye. Without a single hesitation Danielle called me to the back without an appointment, I spoke to the doctor and she had my new trial pair ready right away. After wearing my trial pairs for a few days I came back in to make my purchase. Luckily I was able to work with Danielle again to make my final purchase of a year supply of contacts and a lens replacement in my back up frames when I originally just came in to get a 6-month supply. Thanks again I couldn’t be more satisfied.

I gave 3 stars because I don’t know about the virtual eye exam, no doctor being there and some of the other things people have mentioned in some of these reviews but a screw came out of my glasses on a Sunday and they were basically the only place I could find open so I went there hoping they could fix them. As it turns out, the guy that helped me was nice and fixed them for no charge. Thanks!

This company has HORRENDOUS customer service. Prices are misleading and eye exam is given virtually, without a doctor present.Expect to wait several weeks for your order and to not be able to reach anyone, once they have your money.
Came into this new location at Davenport, Ia and it was a phenomenal experience, as soon as I walked in I was greeted promptly. There were so many selections of frames to choose from. The sales manager there Danita helped me choose a pair of glasses that I fell in love with and she was just amazing. Helped me with everything I needed and was just so professional and nice. Easy and simple eye exam. Extremely helpful staff, I didnt feel pressured to buy anything expect what I wanted. My only issue was the Zoom-like eye exam. I didnt feel like I could ask questions. I could tell the doctor was reading from computer. The doctor also didnt give me my prescription, it was a staff member. So I dont fully understand what my eye issues are. I still give it 4 stars though. Easy and simple process.

Ill give a one because i cannot give a zero!! My daughter went here and was not given a proper eye exam. She paid for glasses that she received, but are the wrong prescription. she paid for contacts that she never received. Stay away!UPDATE 1/30/20 Their computer automatically generates a message to call to call them.... Calls made, only to leave a message.. no calls returned!
Really not a fan of not actually seeing a doctor. I found it more expensive than other places. Workers are just sales pushers. Called on status of glasses after 12 days was not given a staus just they are not even expected for a week. Me and my family will never go here again no personal touch and poor customer service
We went here today for an eye exam and a pair of glasses, walked out with two pairs, and smiling faces. Staff are very professional and extremely helpful! We will definitely be returning in the future!
10/10 definitely do NOT recommend this place. Went to the new store on Brady with an appointment after already confirming over the phone that our insurance was accepted. After a fake (virtual) exam they told us it wasn’t so we were pretty much scammed and either had to buy something or pay 45$ for an exam that didn’t even get the prescription right. They also wanted to sell a bunch of stuff we didn’t need. They’re only in it for the money. We bought a pair of glasses that the lady says was a “manager discount” but was actually exactly what they were advertising. What a joke. She didn’t even know what she was talking about when she tried explaining the products. I could see right through her LOL. Go to a real doctor like we did because I promise Stanton will get your prescription wrong too.
I had a great Experience at this location. Everyone is friendly and professional. Highly recommended Stanton if you go ask for the manager Danita shes great!

Katherine, in the Davenport store was very helpful assisting my wife and I. She is very knowledgeable and answered all our questions to our satisfaction.
I just popped in, never had glasses before. They got me right in to see the eye doctor, sure enough I needed glasses. I had my young child with me and after a day of running errands he was over it and didn’t show the best behavior. One of the staff got her phone out and let him watch a movie on her phone and talked to him to keep him occupied while I picked out the glasses I wanted. It was a free eye exam with the purchase of 2 pairs of glasses for only $60!!!! What a deal. On top of that once I picked out my glasses the staff let my son watch (help in his eyes lol) make the glasses and then he got to give them to me and was so proud! We were there for maybe and hour and got an eye exam, picked out glasses and got to leave with my glasses the same day. Besides there extremely affordable prices, this place by far has the best customer service I have ever seen in any type of service in the quad cities. I will forever be a returning customer and send anyone I can to them! Also Extremely friendly and professional and helpful! I was a little sad that I’m getting to an age where my eyes are going bad and the rep was soooo comforting like she was friend. She made the situation fun and helped me see the positives. I strongly recommend them. Hands down best customer service.

Danielle and sarah were great. I crushed my glasses, therefore half blind. I was a walk in first time customer and they sent me out of the store within 2 hours satisfied. First rate service and I love my glasses. Thanks ladies!!

Would not return to Stanton. First off Davenport location only has a couple professional people working there. Everyone else needs a bit of training. they offer free eye exam but.... only if you purchase glasses from them. That is not noted. Then after being there 2.5 hours with little employee help we finally walked out the door. Waited for about 2 weeks for our glasses which was what was expected. Went to pick up our glasses and the lady did not even check to make sure glasses were adjusted or fitting correctly. Handed us the glasses and was done. When i told her my glasses did not fit properly her response was OH NO! but did nothing. After getting home and comparing these to the glasses i already had these appear to have nothing in them that is helping. I see the same with or without them. So go else where (even Walmart is better) before going here. Complete waste of money. Plus never heard of a Virtual eye exam.
