Always felt annual prepay was manipulative. More expensive than the competition. CEC seemingly made it hard to leave contract. Changing call monitoring was needlessly difficult. When we switched companies, CEC said they charge $260 for a person to come out and reset equipment. All in all, very poor experience.

This company grossly overcharges and under performs, highly unethical in their business practices. There is a reason their reviews are so poor!

We use CEC for our corporate office and have good experiences. They help manage our door and security systems. They have knowledgeable nice technicians. They seem quite busy and can be hard to schedule a visit quickly.

We purchased a fire alarm system from them a few years ago for an 8 plex in Sturgeon Bay. Several months ago a tenant said the panel was beeping so we called them and said if they were in the area to check it out, but we could not find anything wrong since it wasnt beeping when we checked. Several weeks after the initial call my husband talked to the service tech who said he arrived, spent 5 minutes looking at is and couldnt find anything wrong. We received a bill for $450 comprised of a $120 trip charge (even though we said to not make a special trip) and $306 for 2 hours of labor. After numerous phone calls and discussions we still are being billed $214.17, which we will pay and NEVER do business with this company again.
