A hidden jewel! I wish I had known about this place sooner. I forgot to bring my box-o-knives and bought used sharp ones that didnt break my wallet. Love supporting local family owned business, especially ones that have been hustling for almost a century! Anyway, Ill update this review and add pictures when I come back and bring the knives.Update: Ok I came back a week later and found out that they also sold spices and bought sumac. I brought my whole kitchen Mish mash of knives to be sharpened and they told me about 30 mins which was enough time to go make an errand while I was in the area. Easy and quick and cant wait to start using these knives. Love dealing with kind no-nonense business. Will recommend!

5th generation of cutlery experience. Every restaurant in metro Detroit uses them for their professional grade sharpening. But open to consumer walk in sharpening. And most affordable game in town!!! Historical establishment.

Friday the 13th, (I know, I know)Binell Brothers and cutlery is a family owned business . A company that deserves a 5 star rating without a doubt. I brought in 1/2 dozen knifes along with Cold Steel Blade that needed to be sharpened. The owner was a tad hesitant for liability issues but completed the job with pinpoint accuracy. He treated me respect and honesty . A rare commodity in todays business world. KUDOS TO A FIRST CLASS OPERATION !!!

Could this place or the employees be any cooler? Nope. More than fair pricing (they should increase their prices I think), super fast sharpening, didnt even take long enough to need a chair to sit in. Plus very reasonably priced knives for sale. Cant beat it. Look forward to returning every 4-6 months until the end of time. Perfect experience.

I was in need of some household knifes and some hedge & hand trimmers to be sharpened this morning. Through google, I found Bindell Brothers Cutlery. When we arrived we received a warm greeted by the owner and staff. The owner personally cared for us. He sharpened, I believe 7 items while we waited there a very short time.He shared that in the early 1900s his father would go from restaurant to restaurant with his equipment and sharpen their cutlery on the spot. This equipment is sitting at the front of the store. The quality of his work is wonderful and the prices are beyond reasonable. I will keep coming back.Thank you for taking care of us today.

Couldnt have had a more pleasant experience this morning! Gentleman that I presume was the owner, was knowledgeable, professional, and most friendly.For the fishermen out there, they have an assortment of sharpened used fillet knives for $3. A real steal!

I went to this place to sharpen my pocket knife. All the staff there were very nice. Under 5 minutes I was out the door. My pocket knife is know razor sharp.

What an awesome place. Its definitely an old school experience going there, but then, isnt that what youd expect from a family-owned business thats been around for 100 years?The folks there are nice and friendly, willing to answer questions or just shoot the breeze (if they arent busy).And the price... $2 per blade... Are you kidding me?And fast... They sharpen your knives while you wait, and you dont wait long. I think it took them five to ten minutes to make my knives razor sharp!But all this wouldnt mean anything if their work was shoddy.IT MOST DEFINITELY IS NOT!!! When I got home, I immediately put my chefs knife to work. It was so sharp, I barely felt the tomato I sliced into super-thin slices. Like buddah!!I think my knives are sharper than when I first got em!!Thanks Binell Brothers! You guys rock!

Anyone that cooks that uses a lot of spices and needs sharp knives this is the place for you, theyve been serving the restaurant business professionally for years. I just picked up a bunch of used chef knives that are razor sharpened and ready to go and a nice big bag of granulated garlic baby. This place is fantastic for all Foodies and Chefs.

Made the half hour drive to have my chef knives sharpened. Was pleasantly greeted and immediatelyhelped out. My knives are factory sharp, amazing job! Super quick, friendly and incredibly affordable.

Stopped in today with 6 kitchen knives that have been in dire need of sharpening. I found it thru a google search. Very impressed with the customer service. I was slightly intimidated at first, but the employees were very nice. Took less than 10 minutes and cost was only $2 per blade. The gentleman wrapped my knives in paper before giving them back. Very satisfied!!! Thank you!

3-20-18Had a great experience as usual. I brink my folding pocket knives here to have a nice thin edge put on them. They do an awsome job, at a fantastic price! $2 a blade! Walk ins welcome. Only takes minutes.

The Detroit fire department has used their services at their firehouses for as long as i can remember. Im a 20yr veteran of the dept, and we cook everyday in between runs. They have never let us down, complete customer service.

Excellent service and very affordable. They literally do sharpen while you wait. I was in and out in 10 minutes. My kitchen knives which had never been sharpened before are now good as new!

$2 a frickin knife? Its like theyre doing it for free! Took 19 knives in and they did them as I waited! Best if not only deal around. Looks like they do every single restaurant around. Each knife gets sharpened on three separate stages.
