10/10 very cool place!! Has all types of food from everywhere and very fun. The lady was super nice and helpful answering all of our questions and recommending a ton of cool things! They also have a lot of vegetarian/vegan options. Make sure to ask for help as the place has a lot of products in there, plus they will give personal, helpful tips. This store is a nice gem of a store for oriental food items and supplies. I found some awesome Ramen bowls here. They have a good selection of frozen vegan meat substitute items as well.

This was the cutest, little market. I’m not from the area but the employees were very friendly and they seemed to have a lot of regular customers. They were very familiar with all their clientele. I’ll definitely have to come back and shop!

We came to buy ingredients for Thai iced tea and were pleasantly surprised by the variety of products sold here! At very reasonable prices too. The staff were helpful. We asked if they had boba and the clerk was happy to show us all their selection. Friendly staff, fair prices, and wide variety of products make for a wonderful store.

This is a convenient little Asian market in the city. It doesnt have everything like the big H-marts but often has all the specialty foods Im looking for without the long drive. The staff is helpful and available to ask for help. They also have a nice selection of dishes and glassware in the back door a nice price. Overall I would say this little place is a fun adventure to walk through and a convenient stop for specialty Asian food items within the perimeter. Ive shopped here for years and will continue to do so.

Great selection of items. Could use a bit more organization. I enjoy coming here when picking up a handful of items. It beats those long lines of your larger supermarkets. Independently owned, and a lot to look at. The only negative thing is make sure you look at items that may have expired on the Shelf. This however is my favorite place to buy African black soap.

No need to talk about it. If you are a resident of Atlanta or a resident of one of its suburbs and are on a healthy eating journey then you already know about this place. And if you dont know about it, you will soon. Ill tell you this. My mom is a picky eater and she prefers to drive over 40 plus mins to buy their meat substitutes instead of driving 15 to 20 mins to someplace closer and more convenient.

Thus is the place to come for Asian food for the low prices. Great for vegetarians too. Im not vegetarian but I mess with the vegan shrimp though.

I came here because of all of the reviews describing their vast selection of vegan items, and they did not disappoint. They have an assortment of vegan shrimp, chicken, beef, pork, etc. in the freezers in the front. Its a little chaotic on the inside, and you cant fit your cart down some aisles, but thats just part of the experience. Everyone working in there is super sweet and helpful. I will definitely be coming back.

I love this market because, when I am not finished shopping and still a ways from home I can buy my veggies ribs and they will heat them in the microwave for me. Although they are not a restaurant. 🥗 which means I dont have to go in such of a vegetarian restaurant. 😋

If you are tired of grocery store Ramen noodles and want to elevate your palate The Oriental Market @ Avondale East Ponce De Leon is the place. They also have the varieties of Japanese Kitkats thats the Marta Rail Operators just love. Always a great experience from the staff as well. Me and my son will be back soon.

I love this tiny but jam-packed little market! Really nice people with there who help me sort through a dozen varieties of fish sauce, hot pepper flakes, noodles, rice flour, oyster sauce, bean paste, tea, and more. Funny little sausages, Asian candies, cookies. And a random collection of cool dishes, tea pots, steamers, sake sets, and stuff to pick through. Nice to not have to go way out to Buford Highway ... I usually drop in after a visit to Your DeKalb Farmers Market

A lot of great variety in the goods & products they sell. Vegan foods are available! A little grunge but authentic!

This place can be overwhelming if you arent familiar with it. There is so much stuff its hard to navigate if you are a first time visitor. They do have a selection of frozen meat alternatives (vegan options) that are hard to find elsewhere like faux shrimp. If youre cooking an Asian dish and need a particular seasoning or item this is the place to go! Just picked up some Agar Agar, Google it!

I love First Oriental Market as a vegan especially! This place is a go-to when I need my seaweed, bean curd, and rice noodles or a vegan protien like shrimp or vegan steaks. The prices are good and they also sell woks and other items. I love that this place is down the street from my favorite market, DeKalbs Farmers market.

This place is HUGE and has tons of products to choose from. I was learning how to cook Vegan and this place had a great selection of items for me and vegan cooking. The only downside is that many items didnt have prices on them and I got tired of asking for price checks. Also, items are jam packed in there and It would be easy to overlook something. All in all, there is a huge selection at good prices. I highly recommended.

Its OoooooK. Its not as good as it used to be but its worth going inside in order to see if they have what you need. Check the date and make sure its not spoiled and throughly look at the frozen items

This is the only place with mae ploy curry paste that I can find. That alone gets them a 5th star. Even without that, they are a decent place. They really dont have a freezer section, so dont expect that.

I love this funky little place. Very nice staff (owners?) Excellent selection of every kind of east Asian food item as well as cooking implements, cups/bowls and even seeds to grow Asian veg. Superlative selection of teas including herbal/medicinal teas at good prices. A bit messy and overcrowded with items, but that just adds to its charm.

Ive been going here for close to 20 years now. First as a kid doing grocery runs with my parents. Then as an adult when I needed unique items for work. I did catering and crafty on movie sets and this place has some of the best teas, noodles, seasoning, and eastern produce. They even carry good vegan substitutes for a variety of meats and the prices beat anywhere else in town. On top of that, the owners are great about special ordering crates of whatever I needed.

First Oriental Market has a potpourri full of Asian items to dishware seasonings Foods clothing you name it they have it. Make sure you get some rest and put your sneakers on and also make sure you dont have anything else to do because it will take time to go through this place.

Love the service there. I go there to get my Jasmine rice. They separate it into 5lb bags so I dont have to buy the 25 or 50lb bag. Good price on seasoning packets.

It took me forever to get my Taiwanese wife to stop in at this store, but now she agrees that it is a good source for all kinds of Asian foodstuffs, including sauces and snacks.Very convenient to Decatur, especially since the next best option would be going all the way to Buford Highway.
