This is a hidden GEM thats worth your time to go visit. The food is amazing, even if you order pick up the food is crisp and fresh. Its a clean establishment which is very important and the staff is friendly and welcoming like excited to serve you the tasty treats this place sells.
This is an epic fail! Do not waste your time. The food was all frozen and heated. They use zero spices and flavoring. The breakfast was an absolute disgust. I took my monte Cristo back to the counter and told the lady it wasn’t cooked throughly and she said oh it looks right. Then offered me French toast instead, like I told you it was not cooked properly and you think I want you to cook me something else? Really! No offer of a refund or an apology was offered. The tables in the lobby were dirty we had to ask for it to cleaned off before sitting down. The staff was bare minimum when it comes to customer service.Like I said Epic Fail!Reply To Owners Response:Thank you for your response and refund on the dissatisfaction with the monte Cristo. Yes, Monte Cristo is my absolute favorite I always order them. I love fruit preserves or maple syrup as well unfortunately neither was provided with the one I ordered. Unfortunately potatoes are one of my absolute favorite with breakfast also one the easiest things to make homemade and these were straight from a freezer. I guess overall the lack of seasoning and homemade touches to recipes lacked in our opinion. I wish you luck but just not a place we would recommend.
Found this little spot by total coincidence. Such a great experience. Staff was super nice, food was yummy! The chicken pot pie was amazing!!! I dont know if Ill be in this neck of the woods again, but totally recommend anyone in the area to check it out.
The food was fantastic and service was spot on! They had some of the cutest wall signs and says. I would definitely recommend trying some of the different pies they have as well!

I love this place so so much! The chicken salad sandwich is always great, the burgers are cooked and seasoned well, and there is a really nice variety of sides. This place honestly made me like pie after 20 years of insisting I hated it. The peanut butter pie (and cheesecake) are both fantastic, the lemon meringue is a great consistency, and the tuxedo is wonderful. Every time I visit I’m very happy with the food and the customer service :)
My family and I decided to try The Cherry Pit Cafe and the food was great. I had the crab cakes and sweet potatoes tots, my husband had the meat loaf and mash potatoes and my son had the burger and fries with a milkshake. The food was so much better than we expected. If youre looking for true dinner style food, you should definitely try The Cherry Pit Cafe.
The Cherry Pit Cafe and Pie Shop has wonderful hamburgers, shepherds pie, zucchini bites, French fries, macaroni and cheese and ham quiche! My family and I are looking forward to trying everything on the menu! This is a great restaurant!!
I got the Carlina burger. It doesnt have any taste. The chili had black beans. The slaw didnt have taste. It was bad!! Then they use a nasty whip cream tht I never had b4. All of it was bad. The person wt me had crab cakes and they liked it.
Never had a bad meal here. Great food every time.The vegetable soup and chicken salad half and half meal was wonderful. The dollar brownies are unreal.The pie filling stuffed French toast breakfast is massively delicious.One of my favorite restaurants in Greensboro. So glad the virus hasnt shut them down.Went Sunday and ate inside. We were the only customers there, but their takeout business was booming. Free fountain drinks for the delivery companies drivers was a nice touch.Their small dining room was sectioned off for social distancing, but their once booming, wait to be seated energy was sadly missing.Food was wonderful, and so glad theyre hanging in there.Enjoy if you get a chance!
Placed an order from there to be delivered through Doordash. We made sure all items were listed as go with merchant recommendation if unavailable. Instead they decided to cancel our order at the last possible minute, and when we called to find out what had happened they just told us they were closed and couldnt do anything. Absolutely horrible customer service. I do wish somebody who had some clue what they were doing running the place, because honestly the food is pretty decent if you can get it. They just make that a major difficulty, which seems weird since they make their money selling food. I would recommend this place, but only if you have backup ready to go, because the operation of that place is horrible.
This place always gives me a pleasant experience. The staff is very friendly and the food is always great. Its hard to find a restaurant with one of those qualities in current times so its nice to have one with both.

The food is delicious but I will be back for the service alone! I came in during the power loss from the ice storm. Only one cashier powering through a line of people with grace and an awesome personality! Even with so many people she seemed to still try to make each interaction personable. That’s what I love about small businesses. And I watched her do that between running back and forth (and I counted) 4 pots of coffee while I was waiting to place my Togo order. I think there was only 2 cooks as well and my food still looked excellent as always and was packed with care! They include all the necessities like butter and syrup. It was very nice to have a hot meal after we did not have power for over 24hrs. Thank you cherry pit!
The desserts are amazing and so is the food! I’m very picky about my pies and I tried their triple berry and let me tell you that was like a smoothie in a pie! It was absolutely amazing and there was even pie filling in the crust of it, absolutely amazing! Their pecan pie is really good too!

Delivery was long but that was expected. The food was warm still when it came to us. I got the patty melt and it was really good. My mom got the tex burger and sweet tots. It was very good! She got the pecan cheesecake and it was delicious and creamy. My peanut butter bomb was really chocolate and sweet. Will order more!Update: I order here all the time now and this place is great!! I love it so much! Order is always right! Salads are yummy, wish they had cheese! I love the fried zucchini. The ranch is so yummy! I wanna try the peach cobbler !
Hubby and I ate here for the first time. The food was really good. The chicken pot pie (the best ever!) and the shepherds pie was fabulous! The mac and cheese was super good. You could tell it was homemade as was the potato soup. I dont usually get potato soup in restaurants because they usually come from a factory and taste like it. I know now where to get really good potato soup! A previous reviewer complained that the zucchini bites were spicy and that it wasnt mentioned on the menu. There was just a tiny hint of spice that was barely noticeable. I wouldnt have even noticed had I not been paying attention for it! It was extremely mild. You cant make everyone happy. They were really good but I think they would have been better with ranch dip instead marinara sauce even though it was really good marinara sauce. Ranch seems like a better match. Maybe ask the customer for a preference upon order? Just a suggestion. Ranch could possibly make a difference for someone to reorder next time. If I couldnt get ranch I probably wouldnt get them again. Staff was friendly and we were promptly served. I would have liked to of seen staff cleaning the tables after each customer leaves like most good quality restaurants do. It only takes a minute. We dont eat much pie but hey, its a pie Cafe! So we took a slice of cherry crumb pie to go to share later. Man, it was FRESH and so good and tasty! It was perfect! The best cherry crumb pie Ive ever had. I know where Im coming to get pies for the family holidays. Over all great experience. 👍👍
When I need comfort food, Cherry Pit is the 1st place on my mind. Food, service and especially PIE are top notch!! Crab cake slider and breakfast burger w a runny egg followed up by pecan pie or chocolate chess pie. Or the most delicious pie known to man... Blueberry Dream Pie!! Oh yea!! Youll be dreaming about it alright.
Saw this restaurant on Doordash. I was really excited when I saw they offered pecan pie. So I placed an order for that and 2 hotdogs and also a chicken pot pie for my husband. It arrived rather quickly but I have to say this was the most disgusting thing Ive ever had in my mouth. My hotdogs were cold to the touch and covered in flavorless toppings. I dont know how you can fumble a hotdog but The Cherry Pit Cafe definitely did. Needless to say I was disappointed but I originally came for the pie, so I thought that would be the saving grace... Little did I know, the pie would be just as bad. Overly sweet and mushy. My husband on the other hand, fairly enjoyed his meal... Maybe I just chose the wrong items but Ill never order here or recommend this place to anyone.
Had lunch here today, it being my first time eating at the Cherry Pit, I was excited to try something new😛. I was highly disappointed with the food. I ordered the California veggie burger with fries and the double crusted apple pie. The burger had no taste and there was only 2 pickles( I asked for these to be put on there as extra) but I would have left them off if I had known I would only get two! The fries were cold and the double crusted apple pie had mushy crust that was barely flaky on the outer layer and not done to my liking! The meal was free for me, thank the lawd...the JOB bought my coworkers and I lunch and everyone complained of there food not being good. Really disappointing lunch today😞
Ordered online asked for omelette to be cooked soft, omelette was brown and burnt, potatoes were under cooked and under seasoned same with the grits. Not sure if they changed cooks but the food was horrible. Never ordering from here again.
Bought two pies for Christmas dinner. Tried the coconut cream pie early on Christmas Eve. The pie was terrible. It tasted like it had been sitting in a refrigerator for a while. The crust was uncooked. Had to throw it away. Peanut butter cream was excellent. Will probably give them a second chance.
We pickup breakfast every weekend, and usually love everything about our experience, however today, though it was very busy and as a restaurant manager myself, I understand, but quoting short wait times when knowing it will be at least double the quoted time (over triple for mine) just makes it worse. On top of the long wait we received no syrup for our French toast and a substitute of store bought frozen potatoes for one of our sides. Also the ladies I perceived to be the managers on duty were doing next to nothing to help the staff. She seemed more concerned with taking her phone calls than helping the guests. The 2 working the front counter were excellent and deserve to be commended for doing there best to keep everything running as efficiently as possible.

Delicious food, easygoing atmosphere. My wife really enjoyed the breakfast. She finished her whole plate, which rarely happens. We will definitely be back to try out the lunch sometime

There is so much opportunity left on the table here. Shepards Pie could have been warmer, chicken pot pie had good flavor but a bit too much breading, brownie ate my cookie could have tasted fresher if warm and cherry pie would have tasted great warmer than room temperature. Add staff could have cleaned the tables instead of customers... Almost a five star but just a few too many misses.

We had the chicken pie and it was awesome. Excellent flavor. We also tried the peanut butter cheesecake. Delish. We also had sides of cornbread and zucchini slices. Loved the cornbread it was moist. Zucchini was not good at all. It was so spicy and it hit the back of my throat hard. I coughed and coughed. Nowhere in the description did it say they were spicy. A warning would have been nice. But overall a definite 5!!!
Stopped in for the first time to grab a quick bite. Tried the cheeseburger sliders and Mac n cheese. You know what? They were GOOD! Hot and fresh. I think they put them on toasted Hawaiian rolls out something for an extra slap of deliciousness. The macaroni and cheese was more of the cheese sauce variety than baked, but still pretty good. My food came out quickly and the prices were decent. They will see me again.
Pie is literally raw on the bottom. Absolutely gross. Just ended up buying Walmart pies. $30 on uncooked pie.
The food is okay, a little bland. Dry main portions (meatloaf and crab cake), and seriously over priced for such a small amount of food. I would not eat here again due to the pitiful portions.

Oh my goodness! This was some of the best breakfast I have had in awhile. I got the country fried steak and gravy with scrambled eggs and the potatoes. I even got it delivered! It was fast, delicious and still warm! Thank you for doing an amazing job! Keep it up!

Stopped for breakfast this morning after a friend raved about this place. saw the cook run to the bathroom with gloves, hat, mask, and apron on...walked out all the same and went straight back to cooking in the kitchen. didn’t even want a refund I just threw out my plate and walked out. disgusting

Extra long wait for very small portion of burned meatloaf that was reheated on a grill. When I took it back I was made to feel like I should have not brought it back. We will not be back.
I love the keylime pie; however, I have to repeatedly return my slices because of the way they are stored. They keep the pie in the cooler with the drinks and it has a stale refrigerator taste, down to the whipped topping. I have to ask for slices from the back in order to get a better tasting one. If they can correct this issue I think the key lime pie would be five star.
Very nice staff. We go there for breakfast and an occasional piece of pie. The place is tiny so sometimes there is a wait but usually doesnt take long.

Good food, friendly service. The menu of non-pie food includes tasty and diverse sandwiches. Dont miss their delicious quiche. The pies are beautiful and freshly made on-site. For savory dishes they have chicken pies, shepherds pie, and quiches. I have not tried their salads & soups but am working my way through the menu. Locally owned business with some of the happiest staff Ive seen outside of Disney World. This is casual dining at its best but has a small dining area. The furnishings are clean and accommodating but do not invite you to come and sit for hours (thats what coffee houses are for, maybe?) This is good, fresh food, served with a smile for take out & eat-in.
Great little counter serve breakfast place. (Havent tried the pie yet). Bacon was crisp, the eggs perfectly done, biscuit and gravy delicious. Best breakfast potatoes Ive had in a long time. Well be back for sure. Recommended!

Just got delivery. The food was perfect. Chicken salad had just right amount of ingredients and the croissant was fresh . Fruit was very fresh and chilled perfectly. REAL MASHED POTATOES. EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD. IM TRYING TO SAVE SOME FOR TOMORROW. WISH ME LUCK. Almost forgot -- the driver was so nice. She was smiling like she was happy to be at work. Very courteous.

Got a grilled cheese kids meal and it was more than enough food for me. Instead of a side, I paid $2 extra for a full size drink and veggie soup. My total was around $7 and I am satisfied! The food was also great.
Took the family and the grandparents and there was something for everyone. The Monte Cristo was perfect, good burgers, crab cake sliders are awesome and the breakfast food was top notch. All the desserts looked amazing to!
A bit more pricey than a diner, but you truly get what you pay for. High quality food, large selection and the fresh pies make the expense well worth it. Always a win when a local company and play with the big boys and win. Food quality is in par with Mimis Cafe.

Lovely staff, both pies and food were brilliant. I got the chicken pot pie and for me it was enough for two servings. The pies were healthy size and were flavorful while not being overly sweet. I had the Blueberry, Apple Crumb, and Key Lime. Definitely coming back soon to get more.
We ordered catering (boxed lunches with assorted sandwiches and an assorted cookie platter to go with it) for a work event and I do not have enough words to praise how fantastic our experience was. Not only was the food excellent (and so pretty), but they were flexible, courteous, and outstandingly accommodating and patient with us. The delivery was exactly right, on time, and everyone really enjoyed their lunch! Thank you for a wonderful experience, we appreciated it and definitely anticipate coming back!

Delicious homemade food and desserts in a great, family friendly atmosphere. Their menu has lots of food options too: burgers, deli sandwiches, quiche, and comfort food like chicken pot pie, meatloaf, mashed potatoes with gravy... They also have plenty of healthy options to choose from such as steamed veggies and different types of salads. There is something there to satisfy any palette. They have the best desserts and pies too! We eat there at least once or twice a week.
Great comfort food! The Carolina burger and the meatloaf are our go-to choices. The sweet potato tots are fabulous and of course you cant forget the pie! You can even add a scoop of ice cream for an extra bit of decadence.

We ordered pot roast, mac & cheese, meat loaf, and cornbread. All tasted delicious! Would have liked a little more gravy on the meatloaf. You must order gravy for mashed potatoes.

The food was good and I think its a local business not a chain which I like to support normally but... I feel like the prices are pretty high for what you get. The plates seemed greasy (more than what the food on them produced and the overall cleanliness of the restaurant wasnt very good. The service was just ok.
I was there and witnessed a terrible thing. A customer came up and asked for a toothpick and the girl at the register, let the customer dig in the container that holds the toothpicks that go in sandwiches. When i tell her about it, she says she didnt want to put her hand in it.

We really loved this placed. Small diner atmosphere with counter service. Good selection for different tastes/preferences. Breakfast quiche was amazing. My husband had a pot pie and said it was definitely worth going back for!

Food here is fantastic! Fried green tomato sandwich and buffalo chicken are my favorites so far. Pie is also delicious. Boston cream and cherry with ice cream are amazing. Zucchini bites and sweet potato tots are two of the best sides. Overall delicious food! The prices are a little high but its worth it for the food

The pies here are definitely great and you cant miss with any choice you make. If you cant decide, try one of the fruit-based varieties with Dream in the name (Cherry Dream, for example). They also have great lunch and dinner items, ranging from burger and grilled sandwiches to meatloaf and vegetable plates.
It is easy to support local restaurants when the food and service are terrific! And that is what you will find at Cherry Pit! Whether it is breakfast, lunch, dinner or desserts...the entire family loves this place! Sliders are delicious, pot roast dinner is a favorite as well as their burgers! I did a search for chicken pie in Greensboro and the Cherry Pit came up. So I tried the chicken pie, mashed potatoes, with a salad. The chicken pie was good. Its full of meat with a thick sauce. The mashed potatoes were ok. They sale a lot of homemade pies and pastries. The place was clean and easy to find. Its in a strip mall.
The Cherry Pit had great food for adults and kids alike. My favorite menu item is the crab cake sliders with sweet potato tots.My one complaint is the portion size on the kids menu. The burger is only 1 slider, which was not nearly enough for my 6yo daughter. The plate was then filled with fries. Too much of the side, not enough entree.
Had Fried Green Tomato BLT & Apples. The sandwich is on sub roll & stuffed with great food, but too much for me. Half sandwich would be sufficient for one. Great spot for quick meal. Seating: tables & booths.
Where should I start? The potato soup, that was not soup. That was scalloped potatoes in a bowl. I like scalloped potatoes however, I ordered soup because I wanted soup. The vegetable quiche, um that was scrambled eggs in a pastry crust (and not even well cooked scrambled eggs at that), and they had the nerve to call it quiche and charge $6 a slice. Why? I guess because they sprinkled feta on top, which frankly just made the whole thing worse. Also the coffee, I could have gotten better coffee for free at an AA meeting. At least the coffee at AA would be hot. The staff was friendly, quick, and helpful so they have that going for them.

I had heard of Cherry Pit Cafe before. I was excited to try it. My food was not that good at all. My fiance had to take his back. The portion size left much to be desired for the price you have to pay.
