Totally excellent local bike store. They were so kind about fixing my old cruiser bike (they really feature other types of bikes). I have gone in for several routine repairs. Every time they are kind, patient and do an excellent job of repair for a reasonable price. So glad this shop is in my neighborhood!
Justin is awesome. I took my 11-year-old and 9 year-old sons in to have the derailleur on my oldest son’s bike tuned and he walked us through his process, identified the issue and fixed his bike! He helped nurture their interest in the equipment along the way. Thank you to Justin for your great service and expertise. We’ll be back!
Very happy with my experience here. Russ was polite and helpful and solved my bike issue in no time. Great looking shop that is well staffed so waiting is not an issue. Highly recommended and happy to support local business.
Cycleton continues to impress me every time I go there. From the first time I’ve gone there they continue to welcome their costumers into the shop. They have such a nice staff and they are always willing to help me out and even give me tips and share knowledge on bikes. I have never had a bad experience here and I recommend going to cycleton! They also always take the time to help customers get what they need. 10/10 recommended going here if you have problems with your bike or if you need something!!!
Excellent customer service. Helpful people. They dont nitpick you for a tighten up. My experience was wonderful. I didnt have to hunt someone down for assistance. Non judgemental staff highly recommend !! 10/10
I had a lukewarm feeling in comparison to so many shops in the Denver area. Its a small shop but they do their best. They display their items nicely and front their accessories. They price everything really really high so make sure you know the prices before you purchase. Unless you do no care. The staff I would not say happy but not mean either. Another way to explain they do not show that much interest in their customer or at least in my case. Further, it is difficult to get into a conversation with them. In general, high end bicycle retail should express a down to earth and conversational manner. The best way to establish high end sales is to show interest in customers. They should do that to every customer, even ones buying a tube or saddle. Because a happy experience generates in a bicycle sale and further accessory purchases. Bicycle enthusiasts generally purchase or upgrade a bicycle every few years to stay up to date.
Great service and really friendly staff. Shout out to Justin for his knowledge and service - super helpful guy and definitely recommend him and entire team at Cycleton for new bikes and repairs.
Very nice staff and service team.
Thanks so much to the awesome people at Cycleton. They were helpful, professional and I highly recommend!!!
Along the lines of some previous reviews, the customer service in here is pretty poor. I went in with my four-year-old to get a part to attach a bike trailer. The person that helped us out (Russell) was rude, in a strange way. He showed us the part, but when I mentioned that I had had a problem with a similar part he got pretty heated and raised his voice and said he had never heard of such a problem in 10 years of working on bikes. The strange part was how frustrated he got after our relatively simple question. I left feeling confused by how the interaction could deteriorate so quickly, and of course also wary of going back. It sucks because I would really like to support a local business. Ill give them another try but if the next interaction is this volatile I will have to go somewhere else for a local bike shop.
Brought my mountain bike in when it wouldn’t shift into two of the gears. The mechanic showed me how bent the cassette was and offered to try to repair it instead of buying a new one for several hundred dollars. After working on it for a bit he got it back into good shape and saved me tons of money. These guys are great!
Absolutely terrible customer service. After having my bike for nearly 3 weeks for a 3-5 business day repair (even with 2 days shipping for other repairs each direction it would be 7-9 business days), I received a voicemail that my bike was ready to be picked up on Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend. I was headed out of town, so I ignored it, planning on picking up the bike the following week. The voicemail failed to inform me they would be closed the entire following week; if it had I could have made arrangements for someone else to pick the bike up on Saturday. Im not at all frustrated they closed for a week; I think it is great they give everyone a week vacation. When finally picking the bike up and letting the manager know I was unhappy with the customer service, he got defensive, and blamed my voicemail being full for the issue, failing to understand that I did receive the voicemail. I also expressed frustration that I had to drive to the shop the find that the shop was closed because there was no indication on their voicemail that the shop would be closed. His defense for this, is that the phone doesnt work for s***. They did have a banner on their website, but the defensiveness about the phones and blaming my full voicemail showed a complete aversion to take any responsibility, or show any understanding for my frustration. When choosing a place to spend your money, youre essentially choosing a place for their customer service as there are dozens of shops in the metro area that all sell great bikes. Spend your money elsewhere. I like supporting individual shops, but Id rather spend it at REI than this place- at least you know you get good customer service there.
This place is great for the novice and experienced rider alike! They were very patient and able to answer all our questions. It was a fun place to shop for the accessories we needed. We will return and recommend this experience for anyone who rides a bike!
Cycleton is awesome! We’ve been in numerous times and they’ve helped us with clipless shoes, loose brake cables and more. Everyone we’ve encountered is knowledgeable and kind. We will continue to go back for all of our biking needs!
Brought my bike in on a Saturday around 1pm for a new tube install. I got helped immediately and they had two repair techs available. Got what I needed for like $14 and waited maybe 5-10 minutes. Plus the tech DIDNT recommend new tires but told me what indicators to look for. Respect. Thank you for existing 👌
Needed two cassettes replaced on the fly.....Justin had me in and out of the store within 15 mins....AWESOME.....also, they had my 29 hard to find tires ON SALE!!! My new bike shop...thank you guys!!!
Best bicycle shop in town! They were so accommodating and helpful for our two daughters who needed new bikes. Great customer service and the only shop we will go to from now on!!
Rented a road bike from them a couple times and had a great experience. Remained open during this pandemic and I really appreciate that. They made sure to get me on the right bike even though it was just a rental. Afterward they even took the time to get my input and talk to me about buying a bike that suited me best. BTW they are still renting bikes when others arent!
Cycleton was my first stop after renting buttercup off of Turo. And friend and I took 4 days to to explore all we could. After talking with a few shops in town I instantly realized the staff and Cycleton had what we were looking for, plenty of recommendations and were extremely knowledgeable and experienced.Upon arrival we were fitted to our bikes and protective gear and headed out of town for an awesome time.In short;- friendly and knowledgeable- owner was awesome and experienced- the FS specialized bikes were amazing to ride.- Rentals were VERY affordable- reservations were easy- buy plenty of honey, snacks and other life saving rations from them. (It will save your life)- rent a vehicle off turo, you can specifically search vehicles with bike racks.
I had a great experience with Jessi at Cycleton. When I called about a bike that was no longer available, Jessi looked up a similar option for me. I was having weird issues with my S-Card (not Cycletons fault) and she was very patient throughout the whole ordeal. When I finally got my bike, I was impressed I am able to get free tuneups just because I got a bike from their store. 100% worth it as other bike stores in the area charge a good amount for that service. We had bought a bike before from another local bike shop and I was far more satisfied with my experience with Cycleton.
So much better than Bicycle Village, appointment not required for a spare tire. Thanks guys
Staff is all very knowledgeable and friendly. I’m very lucky to have such a wonderful bike shop in the neighborhood! Check with them before you buy anything on Amazon!
They were excellent! Took my bike right in!
Ive purchased three bikes from Cycleton over the last five years and Ive had a great experience each time. This is a top notch shop. Russ, the owner, is a great guy and the mechanics have done a great job on all three builds.
Chris and the boys turned around my bike for service in a day and went above and beyond to clean some key components. Highly recommend!
We have been going here for years. They are getting better and better! The current staff is helpful, kind, listen to what you want and anticipate what you need. Our family of seven has 10 bikes and they maintain them all from replacing slime tubes to tune-ups and even built a tandem bike for us.
I was a new customer and I made the mistake of walking through the back door. If you dont want people walking through this door dont leave it open and without a sign, all I saw was your logo and a wide open door... I was rudely told in the future to use the front door and recieved minimum assistance afterwards. I wont be returning because I didnt feel welcome but the employee could have greeted me and let me know in a kinder manner that the door was for employees only. Example: Hello! Welcome to Cycleton. Im sorry we left the backdoor open but in the future please use this other door... its a simple change to the way I was greeted that could have made a difference.
Had a great experience getting my 5 year old a new bike! Friendly staff eager and happy to help us! Would definitely look here to get a bike!
I just noticed that Cycleton is not enforcing masks for customers or respecting social distancing of six feet. It is not just against the current COVID law but it is unkind to people who are medically vulnerable and those who just are concerned about catching COVID. Come on guys, you can do better.
Russ and the rest of the Cycleton crew are super knowledgeable and friendly. I purchased a Shiv TT and Russ spent the time to talk through the build, help me choose wheels and components, and make my dream bike a reality!
Had a question about a loose cassette and Cycleton recognized a quick fix and got me sorted faster than I could have hoped for!
Ive bought 3 bikes from Cycleton. Jubal and his staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They are also in the neighborhood, which makes bike maintenance trivial. If youre willing to buy floor models, you can get a great deal. Its easy to sell bikes on Facebook, if you ask a reasonable price and are willing to wait a few weeks for a willing buyer.
Rented a bike which was adequate but the owner is rude and doesnt seem to care from the phone call, when i picked up the bike, and when i returned it. Also, they couldnt get the credit card right and overcharged until i caught it. If this is the service they provide you might as well buy online or go to another shop.
Great shop with easy-to-work with people. They’re not caught up in charging you for every little thing they touch on your bike and provide fast and quality service. I’ll be coming back regularly!
This is a great local bike shop. Always friendly helpful service. They will give you great tips and very knowledgeable. Free place to go for a tune-up Ive been to some other bike shops in town and they were a little elitist. Best places definitely not like that very family friendly and willing to help enter any questions.
Been in a couple of times and had good experiences. So far the techs seem to know their stuff and arent pushy about upgrading when you dont need to. Cant comment on purchasing much, but I try to support my LBS where I can. Happy to have these guys in the neighborhood.
You dont go to Cycleton for a bargain, you go there for great service and quality. They are always willing to help with a minor fix on your bike, often free of charge. Im glad to have them as our local bike shop!
Been taking my bikes in here for several years and these guys are awesome! Always willing to help with my next scheme to upgrade one of my bikes or fix things that I break trying to be my own bike mechanic.
Took my bike in for repairs and my chain broke after 2 miles. Caused me to be late to an appointment. Nice folk, ample of products to choose from but they failed at the most important factor...FIXING MY BIKE CORRECTLY.**They compromised my safety and for that they SUCK.** 👎Mama & Pop shops wonder why they end up closing, they steer some customers towards big box retailers.
I highly recommend this shop. Their knowledge of cycling is top notch. Every service experience has resulted in improved performance on the bike. Their sales team is fully equipped to help you. I have bought 2 bikes from them, plus had them service 2 other bikes I have. All in all, experience I have is attractive and positive. Keep up the great work!
Been here twice now. Im used to bike shops costing more than elsewhere, not the case here, prices are very nice compared to others. Staff is awesome, I was looking for a new chain lubricant and they suggested the one they use, I am in love with it, this is my new primary spot for bike stuff
Being very mindful of safe practices in these unprecedented times. The social distancing practices if done everywhere would really allow a full reopening. All businesses should match cycleton practices
I went to get some hydraulic brake fluid at 10 am for a bike trip the same day. The guy tells me that they dont have any for sale, but they have some in the back. I think thats code for drop off your bike for a week and we will service it.Then the best part, the guy tells me that he can order the fluid for me. Sir, its 2015. I can order it too, faster and cheaper. I come to pay your high prices for convenience and last minute items. On that note, please, for the love of god, open earlier. By 10 am Im done for the day! Try opening at 7 and youll likely see more customers.
Came in to buy a tire tube. I asked a question about price because none had price tags. I was answered and spoken to very condescendingly. Decided they didn’t deserve my current or future business.*Response to below comment*: The nature of your response infers that there was some sort of failure on my part. This further reinforces my negative review. I completely understand bike tires and this not about understanding rather about the treatment of customers. I was willing to chalk the situation up to a miscommunication until the employee was blatantly badmouthing me to the rest of the shop staff. I was still in the store and clear heard every word. It is important that the public knows how they can expect to be treated.
Great people and willing to help with anything. Good selection and if they don’t have it they will get it for you. I have never felt like they didn’t want to help me and I think I call them way too much. Customer for life.
Great people! My wife and I dont know doodly squat about bikes, and they have helped us with a few upgrades, accessories, and repairs. Reasonable pricing. We like this place.
Hands down the best bike shop in Denver. Professional staff, knowledgable techs, great selection of new and used bikes as well as parts and apparel. Also the best service and advise for Ebikes... They know what theyre doing!
I was just out in Denver on business and really wanted to do some road biking in the front range while I was there. I called Cycleton and they told me they had bike rentals and they had a road bike I could take. I was expecting a beater but when I arrived it was a full carbon Specialized Tarmac. They put it in the stand, took the time to tune it, check it, put my pedals on it, and sized me to it. Additionally, they provided me with a flat kit. I was blown away by the service and the great quality rental bike. They also took the time to point me in the right direction for some great local rides. I spent the afternoon making repeated trips up Lookout Mountain. Awesome time. Thanks for the great service, Ill see you next time Im in Denver.
I love this shop. Everyone is really knowledgeable and friendly. When their bikes were outside our budget they actually gave us several referrals to used bike shops to help us get started. They took really good care of us when we were ready for some larger purchases! Go back frequently!
The “guy who runs the show” is unpleasant and does not deserve your business. He values bike sales over repeat customers. He pulled a mechanic from looking at my bike to replace a chain ring because “I can’t have you off the floor, not selling bikes, for this”Edit Re: owners response below.I saw families come in to look at bikes get helped while I was waiting for service. You saw the weather was nice and decided to prioritized sales over service.“I can’t have you off the floor, not selling bikes, for this” is not a miscommunication.
Awesome place!Bought my bike from here and about a year later I took it in for service. They were about a week out on repairs but i told them I planned to leave town with the bike sooner than that and they made it happen. Got my bike fixed quickly so i can make my trip.
For $10... The Great! Repair staff fixed the REI Gold tune-up Id gotten. Never happier on my bike.
First time there to repair my bike which I have no knowledge of. Repairs were affordable and fast. I will be back for all my bike needs.
Best Bike Rental! We visited Denver, CO and we were looking for a good bike rental place at a decent price. Cycleton had the best prices by far and the staff was amazing. Not only did we have an awesome adventure mountain biking at Marshall Mesa, but the bikes we had to do it with were high end top notch Specialized! They really hooked us up! The even hooked us up with a bike rack to travel with since we had a rental car. It was the best mountain biking experience of my life thanks to the guys at Cycleton.
My son and I visited Denver to do a mountain bike trip. We rented two awesome bikes from Cycleton and we were very pleased. Very decent pricing and high quality, modern bikes. The manager was very friendly and even gave us recommendations about places to visit. We started our visit to Denver by going to Centennial Park in Golden Colorado. It had all type of excitements that you can expect when you are doing MTB. We rented the bikes for 3 days, and we were able to explore a lot of places. Thank you guys for making our trip to Colorado an awesome experience.
New to town. Needed a tune up on my bike. Guys in store super nice. Fixed bike quickly and returned it WITH A PRESTA VALVE WIDE OPEN! I really wanted to praise a local business, but that lack of attention is mind boggling. How do you work on a bike tire and not close Presta valve? Inattention to detail and a lack of caring. Really bummed.
Im new to mountain biking and was a bit intimidated. Jubel (spelling?) and his entire staff have been so patient, helpful, (and funny) each time I have gone in there for a part or a repair. He recently went above and beyond in addressing a suspension issue and showing me how to set up my bike as a beginner to MTB. They hooked me up with some basic, essential tools and got me back on the trail.
I have bought two bikes from Cycleton in the time theyve been in the area, in both cases Ive gotten great service and had the guys there spend a lot of time with me figuring out what bike and size to buy. My height has me between 2 sizes for Specialized and Cycleton put me up on the fitting station to determine what size to buy. Ive never had another shop make this kind of effort. I have needed minimal maintenance on the bikes after the purchases; however, repairs are always done quickly so I can get back out to ride.
Don’t waste your time.
I’ve purchased 2 bikes from Cycleton- a road bike for myself and a bike for my son. Both experiences were great. Andrew is fantastic to work with and he is very knowledgeable about the brands they carry. I’ve also used their shop for service and the turnaround times on the repairs were fast!
Great shop with knowledge and friendly staff. Switched to using this shop a couple of years ago and have been happy with all my service. They specialize in specialized bikes but have brought my Bianchi/campi set up in as well.
I came here but Im not a high end racing biker. I just wanted some cheap stuff for my commuting bike. They were helpful to me even though they knew I wasnt going to be a big spender. Ask for Marshall hes really nice and knows what hes talking about.
Great friendly service. Was in town for a pitstop on vacation and wanted to get some different bike mounts. The service was upfront and friendly. This was the closest bike shop to where we were near. Much appreciated.
Nice shop with a good selection of bikes. I chose to test ride one and it was looked over by the mechanic before taking it out. The pedal fell off while I was out of the saddle and I nearly went face first into the street. When I came back into the shop I was told dont worry about it. I definitely would not trust them to service my bike. Its a shame because I was seriously thinking about buying it.
Always had a pleasant experience when interacting with the staff. Always helpful with finding the right part or ordering it. Never bought a bike or had work done so i cant speak to that.
Great shop. I have purchased 4 bikes from them in the past 12 months - 2 for me and 1 each for my son and daughter. Russ and his employees have been excellent to deal with for both sales and service. I recently took my Tarmac in for what I thought we be a full tune and they did some cable and front and rear derailleur adjustments and had me on my way within 15 minutes. I only wish they had a location closer to Centennial.
Super nice guys who do a good job every time I bring my bike in.
Being a former shop manager/employee Im pretty particular about where I chose to purchase and have my bikes serviced. Cycleton has been a great find for me. Ive purchased two bikes and had one warrantied from the shop. I have my rides serviced there regularly. Always go there when I need something to get me on the road or trail. The staff is knowledgeable, the techs trouble-shoot things well and they are a great crew to just go in and talk shop with. A great addition to the Denver cycling community.
I rented a road bike from Cycleton. The bike was great quality (carbon Specialized race bike), it was set up well for me, the service was fast and effective. I got 3 days riding Denver’s canyons for about $100.
TOP NOTCH! I brought my bike in for diagnosis and repair of clunking, creaking, rubbing and squeaking. Matt listened to my issues, took my bike for a test ride, and after working his magic my bike feels and sounds like new. The time to do the work and the price were both better than expected. There is no doubt that I will be back for future repairs and tune ups... and once I have saved up for a shiny new bike, i know where it will be coming from! Cycleton all the way!
Bad customer service. Maybe the guy was just having a bad day
Nice clean shop and great customer care from Jubel. My wife wanted a certain Specialized bike model to test ride but Cycleton only had the higher tier version available (out of our price range). He found the bike she originally was interested in (boxed up) and said he would get it assembled for her to try. Got a call a few days later and she was able to test ride the one she originally looked at as well as the higher tier model. She liked the higher tier bike after riding both and Jubel was kind enough to offer us a great deal allowing us to remain within budget. Patient, knowledgeable and friendly assistance.
This bike shop is awesome. Very knowledgeable. Store manager made the buying experience great, and got me exactly what I wanted will definitely recommend
Just called to ask if I could order a brake handle to get it replaced on my Electra cruiser. The guy on the phone was curt and instructed me that they are two weeks out for any service, but I needed to bring my bike in as soon as possible to get a full inspection of the bike. When I asked if I could avoid having to bring my bike in twice because of the inconvenience, he stated that was not possible. I instantly felt like they are going to pressure me into getting more maintenance than I need on my bike. After reading other reviews, it seems this is typical of this shop, which is often described as having high prices and poor customer service. Im off to find a better bike shop.
The guys took great care of me when I needed a new shock, but also have found I great great service for smaller parts & repairs. Very knowledgeable, so recommend going there for top-quality service.
Great shop. Rented a bike for a day to ride around. Great price, staff and service. Would definitely recommend.
Ive purchased 3 bikes from Cycleton over the last couple years. They are fast with repairs and knowledgeable with their products. Overall Ive had a great experience with them and would definitely recommend them.
This shop sells high quality bikes with very low quality service. I go here for last minute parts for my specialized and the guys will never help correctly. They tried to charge me $4.00 for a screw! How about, dont worry about it but come back to support us in the future mentality. They are bike elitist and I feel if you are not part of the bike team you are nobody and no special help unless you buy a $4,000 bike. Its a shame.
Bought my bike here yesterday. Incredibly friendly service. They tuned it up before I rode it out, no problem.they definitely know their bikes here.
I changed my tube on a bicycle, it works perfect. They are super talented. Just go to the shop if you need something on you bicycle.
Ive brought my bike here a few times for service and each time not only did the service department do a great job fixing what I asked them to, but they always go the extra mile cleaning up the bike at no extra charge. You all have my business!
Great service, good people and owners
Immediate service, very helpful, and we found everything we needed within minutes. Definitely our new neighborhood shop!
Just wanted to thank you guys again for the new ride!! Outstanding knowledgeable staff. Great selection of equipment right in the heart of Stapleton. New lifetime customer for myself and the family. You guys rock!!
Their staff was really helpful and really cool about letting me take bikes around the block to try out. Really pleasant experience.
I went in to warranty a brake on a new sworks demo 8. They wouldnt do anything. As an authorized Specialized dealer, you would think they would care if I had a faulty brake that could kill me. But no, they told me to call sram, not even specialized. Why would I contact the sub-manufacturer? They werent busy and basically blew me off. I wont support them and I wont support Specialized. Its no wonder brick and mortar retail is struggling...
Helpful staff! I needed some goo for endurance training and they gave me some great suggestions of what to try.
My Husband and I went into this store for the 1st time today. The employee behind the counter just looks at us. He doesnt greet us or even speak to us. So we proceed to walk through the store. As were leaving, another couple(white couple) walks in. The employee stops helping the customer hes now with to not only speak to them, but ask them if they needed help. I will NEVER step foot in this place again. Ill take my money elsewhere! They need to work on customer service of NON-WHITE customers !
Snobby staff, high prices, poor selection.Avoid them if at all possible, in a town with some really great bike shops that are not staffed by douche bag pretend racers, this place is a waste of your time.
Great service!
Dont waste your money. The whole time I was there, I was feeling pressured into more maintenance for my bike than was needed. Fortunately I had enough bike knowledge not to get completely worked over. I still left feeling like I was talked into too much. After all that, I never receive notification that my bike is ready and when I finally do, I get chewed out for not picking it up.
Best shop for repairs that Ive found on this side of town. They do minor repairs while you wait and major repairs within a few days.
Fixed my derailleur in 15 min and it was cheap. Well done
A good selections. I was able to get in and get out quick and efficient with exactly what I needed
Simply put: Cycleton sucks. I was quoted for a wheel set at 300 bucks, and Denver Cycles qouted 100...you be the judge. Plus he had no clue how to deal with a puncture proof wheel. LMAO!!!
Rudest bike mechanics ever. I rented a road bike for a three day ride in Silverton CO. I was expecting the disc brakes which I had never had before in a bike to provide excellent braking. Instead on the first turn going down Red Mountain Pass I found the brakes to be weaker than I expected and came real close to the edge of the road. A bike mechanic supporting the ride looked at them at the end of the day and said they were not only loose but the back brake was out of alignment with the disk which prevented them from being tightened without riding on the disc when not engaged. When I took the bike back I told the mechanic that the brakes had to be tightened. He was rude the minute I walked in and ignored me when I told him about the brakes. He took the bike into the shop and returned with my pedals holding them up in the air with his back to me.These guys don’t care if they are renting poorly maintained equipment that can get a cyclist killed.
DO NOT GO TO CYCLETON!!!I brought my 08 enduro in for a brake lever rebound issue. I strictly wanted that fixed and nothing else. They gave me a call the next day and said my pads were shot so I agreed in replacing the front set. I was expecting it needed a bleed so I figured id be out the door around $50. I went back a week later to pick up my ride only to find new pads on the front and rear, a new chain, a derailleur adjustment, and a brake bleed done to my bike...... I wanted my brake lever fixed, I had them remove the new rear pads and managed to discount me the chain, but it was still $61 out the door, and no improvement to my front lever was made. I understand they may have been just trying to fix up my bike, but when the main reason of service is not accomplished and unauthorized work is done it is a waste of my time and money, dont let them waste yours. I am very disappointed with the service and went out of my way to bring my bike to a specialized elite shop thinking it was my best choice. I will not be going back and dont advise anyone else to either.
