Called these guys looking for a Cummins 4BT. Guy told me he had a new Perkins that was in the same HP range. Sent pictures etc.Unit arrived and it was a Lovol motor - which is built in China and apparently is a copy of a Perkins. I was annoyed since nothing was mentioned regarding it being a Lovol and which I consider shady and misleading.Called the fellow who sold it to me multiple times. Never got a call back.I wouldnt buy from these guys again.

Awesome, and this is why, I sent in an email with request for information on 8.3cta, late afternoon. First thing the next morning Mike calls me, I tell him my problem, he asks for my serial number of my motor, and within seconds he tells me all about my motor, the horse power the rpm ratings etc. He then tells me which engine will replace it, a 8.3 CTAA and what little changes need to be done to make it fit in the motorhome. With that, a quote within 1.5 hours on the engine and freight costs arrives in my email box.I takes about a week for all the other quotes to come in and finally, I tell Mike, we are going with him, we arrange the money transfer, he gets a freight company lined up and ships the motor.With some confusion on the delivery place, Mike follows up with me not once but a couple of times to make sure my end is ready for the delivery. Arrived today, in a secure crate and looks good.Will follow up on this as the installation proceeds, and the sound of the engine come alive.

I bought a 4BT here exactly a year ago with John for my 78 land cruiser. The communication and process was excellent! John explained the entire process, supplied literature in the engines, and tips for swapping them into jeeps/trucks. I also had a water pump issue and with just minor communication had a new pump sent to me no cost! (Still in the warranty timeframe). Shipping was also just as excellent from communication to sturdiness of the crate. I highly recommend Big Bear and John when ordering your diesel engine!I knocked my rating to 3 stars because all of the cheapo Chinese Alibaba accessories that came on the engine had to be replaced within 2 years including the tensioner with higher quality parts. I expected more from a brand new create motor. Im a bit nervous about the internal parts quality now...

I am doing my first rebuild on my 4bt Cummins so obviously theres a lot to learn. first and foremost should I go OEM or aftermarket? OEM is triple the price and I was wondering am I just buying the name or are the parts actually higher? searching the web there are hundreds of overhaul kits to choose from there I stumbled upon big bear engines so I gave them a call. I first spoke to John who could not have been more helpful! I have patiently answered all of my questions and I immediately sensed I chose the right place. John in turn connected me with Mike who was helpful beyond belief! now mind you Im only buying an overhaul kit for around $ 500. not a big sale. Mike offered me so much helpful information. I have obviously had a vast in-depth knowledge of engine rebuilding that I have actually shared with me. I have even called me one day to explain the process to me! I have also sent me articles about aftermarket vs OEM. I have been reading literature on how to break it in a new engine. even though I watched countless videos and researched mike taught me things that I did not know? the guy actually cares! I am amazed and thrilled I was lucky enough to have been able to deal with this company. its a little intimidating doing your first rebuild but I feel a helluva lot better after my experience with this group of stand up helpful caring guys!
