This place is great! They provide extra help finding hard-to-find parts, and they are super pleasant to work with. Im so thankful that I can call them and get someone who cares about going the extra mile.
I have worked with these guys twice now. Once for the main control board, and today for a run capacitor. Not only where they extremely helpful, but you can tell they were good people. Not sure where the other reviews went wrong but I can contest they are not a 1 star business. As for price... They are a local business and not Amazon. Ill gladly pay a little higher for the fast, knowledgeable, local small business. When you can have a 15+ min conversation with them bouncing Ideas and questions and feel better off than when you walked in, thats good customer service.
Very very expensive but they were pleasant and got me a blower motor much quicker than anyone else. They charged $240 for a blower motor that is usually $150 elsewhere and they charged $36 for a capacitor that is usually $11 elsewhere. I had to no choice to pay the premium as I needed to fix my A/C right away as weve got a toddler and baby at home and the heat was rough on them.
#DishonestBusiness! The big elder gentlemen works there was super rude and likes to brag about what he has done he but when asked him a technical question he gets aggressive. The worse thing was I have received multiple faulty parts from this place and they are NOT willing to work with you or take returns! They also increase price of the parts because they know you need it ASAP. I don’t not recommend this place it is a waste of money.
So happy to find an HVAC supply store that sells to the public.
YAY they sell to the Public! They had plenty of the HVAC Capacitors in stock that I was in desperate need of (beginning of August without A/C oy vey!). I was in and out in under 5 mins. The part was just a tiny bit more expensive than online (cost+shipping) but its better than having to wait a week without A/C. Nice and knowledgeable front counter guy too. Wholeheartedly recommended!
Our heater went out and we called and spoke to Janet. She was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. She knew what part we needed and even though they dont stock it, she was able to locate one and have it delivered to their store the same day. When we arrived to pick up the part, they were very patient with answering all our questions. Mark went above and beyond with his help. We are truly appreciative.
Just wanted to say these guys are awesome, I bought several parts from them for an older furnace which they were the only ones that had after an exhausting search via Google and every search engine I could find. They answered all of my questions via phone and in person. After realizing that I needed to replace my furnace I bought the parts purchased from them back not at all expecting to get any money back. It was so nice when asked what can we do to offset my expense. I asked if they had the filters for my new furnace which they did and we called it even. These guys are the best, would HIGHLY recommend them.
Just needed a blower wheel, and they were the only place I found that sells to the general public. They were very friendly, and saved me a ton on repair costs!
In and out in 10 minutes with the part I needed.I visited the shop needing a new furnace ignitor. They had the part in stock and was out in 10 minutes. Dont expect to pay internet prices here. A $20 ignitor off the web cost me $65+ tax in-person. Thats okay though, since your money is well spent and invested. Ill gladly pay for their knowledge, parts availability, and convenience. Keep these shops and the people that run them open! Shop locally.
Dont trust these guys. Gave me a quote for a AC unit over the phone and would not disclose details on the specific model being quoted. When pressed for details the man providing the quote got confrontational and started swearing.
I was having a hard time finding a fan motor for our heating unit. Sherrie ordered one for me and it was not shipped. Sherrie dug into her inventory and was able to find a motor that would work. I would like to thank Sherrie for all her hard work and extra effort. Don
They dont want your business.
This place is awesome! We stopped in for a motor for a old furnace and they actually had it!! Janet and mark are amazing! Super friendly and knowledgeable great customer service! I will definitely be back for all my heating and air conditioning needs. Thanks Janet and Mark for helping us out and making our day!
They always have the parts I need.
Awesome place. Friendly staff. Was able to find us the part we needed at a great price.
This place is what every parts store wishes they could be. 5 stars isnt enough for this place. Even if they didnt have almost every part under the sun they would have gotten 5 stars from customer service alone. These guys are extremely knowledgeable and if they dont have an answer for you they will find you one. They dont give you the well you can order online bs you get when you go to just about any other store or even some excuse on why they dont have what you need. These guys get what you need and they can get it extremely fast. I live over an hour away from this place and will likely never get my parts any where else but here from now on.
This place was great! Being the only place in town that will sell parts to regular Ol Joes, I worried that they were going to abuse that from a supply/demand stance and try to take advantage of their customers. However, it was the exact opposite! Their prices are super fair and Janet is the best customer service person Ive ever dealt with! Thanks for everything! You now have a customer for life!
Excellent service. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Any time I need something, I have no problem driving the 30 minutes because I know I am in good hands. 2 trips yesterday and it saved me hundreds in labor.
Dishonest business. The booster pump went out on my boiler during a hard cold snap so I was in a bind. I called Federal heating supply and they said they had a brand new Bell & Gossett pump for around $180. Thats top of the mark for a genuine B&G part - they can be had on eBay for under $100 - But l needed it immediately so I was prepared to bite the bullet on price. I drove an hour and a half round trip to pick up the part. When I got there the old guy behind the counter hands me a pump in a bag. Every Bell & Gossett part that Ive ever bought came in a sealed box so I questioned whether the part was brand new, as promised, or rebuilt as I suspected. He assured me multiple times that it was brand new. I was suspicious that he was being dishonest with me at the time, and under other circumstances I probably would have walked away, but like I said I was in a bind. When I got the part home and started installing it it became quite obvious that the part was in fact rebuilt and not brand new as stated by Federal. Not only was the part rebuilt but it was poorly rebuilt. They included the wrong gasket and the impeller shaft was not sunk to the proper depth causing all sorts of problems. Bottom line: I paid a premium price for a brand new genuine OEM item and received a poorly rebuilt used item instead. I sent photos to the Bell & Gossett distributor and they confirmed that the item was not new. Be careful with these guys!
Needed a part for my furnace today, brought in the old part. The 3 people behind the desk could not have been more helpful. Needed a part in 2013 which they also then helped me replace. THEY are the best. Couldnt have gotten what I needed on the internet.
Extremely helpful staff. They took care of me fast and were very friendly. I will be recommending to anyone that needs the help.
Very helpful knowledgeable and just great people a must go if you are in need of part or help.
Great place, one of the last of its kind. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Thank you!
My heat went out and it was 3F outside and 62F inside and dropping. I knew it was something simple, either the igniter or flame sensor, and the service companies couldnt get to me for about 8 hours and couldnt or wouldnt (or cant) sell the parts to a consumer. I found Federal Heating Supply and an hour later I had the heat running in my house with a new igniter installed. They are easy to do business with, fast and knowledgeable. Yes, you might/probably can get a part cheaper on the internet but IMHO its worth a few bucks to be able go to a store, talk to someone, see the part...and its way quicker than ordering a part from some unknown website while also making sure youre getting a real part and not a counterfeit.
Excellent customer service. Great parts stock.
This is my go-to place for Furnace and AC parts when I need them NOW. They usually have what I need in-stock, or get it by next day. The lady that answers the phone is always super thorough, friendly and always gets the right parts put in Will-call or on way! The owner is a good guy and very knowledgeable, though I have not seen him in-store since COVID came to town. Dont know what I would do without them as the other places have gone out of buisness during this pandemic. THANKX Federal Heating for making my life easier!!
Super helpful staff, theyll find the part you need
Theyre the only place in Denver that sells parts to the public.
Very very unprofessional people. Unwilling to communicate and then unwilling to refund on their mistakes. Definitely dont recommend to anyone looking for help. The opposite was given. Overcharged and underpromised is this place.
Don, Mark, Janet and the entire staff down here are extremely friendly and very helpful. Super happy with my experience. They helped me solve my problems and get me out the door with the correct part as quick as possible. The only spot in Denver for my heating supply needs. Thanks guys!
They pulled through for me! Sold a furnace to me on very short notice. Good service and responsive.
They have always had what I h needed to do the job I was doing. They have paid close attention at what I was asking or stating.
Zero help. Couldnt even look up a part for me. Encouraged me to buy on Amazon
Parts lady takes pride in telling how she cant provide any technical help whatsoever.waste of time .
Amazing people up there really. Helped me with every question and more. My second time in with what I thought was another broken part they showed me right there why I should not need a new one as the repair man said I did and that I have another problem. After a 10 min conversation with them I was able to go home and get things all back in order. Seriously care about the service they give and their customers thanks a lot guys
They really know what their doing.
Needed help finding the correct part to repair our furnace... my husband called and spoke to Janet, she was extremely kind and helpful. The next day when I went to purchase the part Janet helped me. Again, she was extremely kind and helpful! Janet made the process easy and seamless. I appreciated the fact that she took the time to assure we were buying the correct part.
Public HVAC supply store, not many of these around. They sell new units, components and will come in after hours and weekends for a fee but the option is there. Friendly staff!
Got my parts lickety split! Thanks!
Great help with parts for hvac. Very knowledgeable! Old school parts store!
Dang.... I cant believe I made a call looking for some help that I couldnt get anywhere else, only because everyone only wanted to just make some money off of service call. This gentleman that I spoke to on the phone was very professional asked me what I needed and helped me by communicating information that I needed specifically to getting my air conditioner up and running in a matter of minutes.Whoever that dude was.....I love you man. 😊😊
This company installed and serviced the HVAC system in a home we purchased in Homestead. In my opinion they have questionable business ethics. There is no customer service and they do not follow through on written word. Customer service is non-existent. In my opinion there is no integrity. I advise looking elsewhere.
In this day and age of Ebay and impersonal texting and emails its wonderful to be able to talk to someone who cares about you and your problem. Not only did they look for a part and find it they welcomed me to look online for a quicker delivery as I was without my main heat for my home and its winter!Even though they were not able to help me this time they WILL be my go to when I need help again.Honesty, integrity and great customer service makes for a fantastic company to deal with. You cant go wrong!
Customer Service is great - parts are around 200% of what you will pay anywhere else. They also have a NO REFUND policy which forces me to buy elsewhere next time.
I didnt buy anything here in the end, but I spoke to their office manager/customer service representative and was very pleased with her service. She wasnt sure on a product I needed but still ram it down for me and called me back within a couple of hours after finding the necessary info. I would certainly go to them again for HVAC parts, etc. They do sell to the general public as well which was hard to find.
Helpful folks. Sadly didnt have the part I was looking for but gave me a few ideas of where else I might look.
This place is a lifesaver! They had the part I needed to fix the furnace, when larger shops wouldnt sell to me without a business account.
The staff (especially Janet) know their stuff and really go above and beyond helping customers !!! I recently was trouble shooting and repairing my Bryant gas furnace. After doing the novice igniter replacement I narrowed the problem down to what I thought and the fault code indicated as a faulty pressure switch. Off I went in search off said switch. The first business I went to was going to have to order the switch and recommended I try Federal Heating and Air where I was lucky enough to be waited on by Janet. It didnt take me long to realize she was very knowledgeable as she proceeded to explain that the pressure switch which I brought with me was in her opinion not defective. She then went on to explain what was likely causing the pressure switch not to open (defective inducer) . She then even showed me on one of their display furnaces the location and basics of removing it .After getting the inducer removed and the correct part and serial number, she had the entire inducer assembly delivered the same day.Thank you !!!!!!!!!Gary S
Great customer service. I gave them a wrong part number for a overly complicated filter and they were very understanding. Very quickly found the part(1 min) when right part number. Also multiple people at the phone and very organized.
This place is awesome to say the least. I have a unique furnace and parts are hard to find. Sherry helped me track down the parts and made them available the same day. The parts were fairly priced, and of a higher quality than parts from the internet. Sherry returned calls and lived up to everything she said to me. If your a do it yourself kind o person this is your place. Very helpful staff gave me a few tips and tricks on the install of the parts. My furnace is working well today, because of Federal Heating and Air.
Extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Very friendly, made my visit quick and painless.
The blower fan on my furnace/AC wouldnt start during a major heat wave with a baby in the house. This was the only place I could find that would sell a motor start capacitor to a nonprofessional without waiting for shipping. What a wonderful small business to be able to rely on!
Accidentally purchased the wrong part at 400% of what it cost online. Part was never used and they would not accept return two days later. Don’t waste your money.
They have saved my house from heat in the summer by having a pulley that Home Depot and Lowe’s didn’t. They saved us this winter by having a flame sensor that again NO ONE else carried. They have all the parts you need that big stores don’t carry. I’m thankful they are around with the parts they carry! Thanks!
I called all around for a few key items we needed. No one had what I was looking for or said they could order it and I could pick up in a week OR they had the parts but wanted an arm and a leg.Federal Heating didnt have the parts either but this is where they stood out; they said they would send someone to find what I needed and I could have my order by noon. THIS is why I think so highly of this business. They have been in the same location as long as I can remember (at the top of the hill) and I doubt they have updated the place in all that time. They run lean and mean and that allows them to offer competitive prices.
Lets see....I will share my experience and you draw your own conclusion. We noticed AC wasnt cooling as well. My father called for me as I have to work and they came out and said I needed to add freon. They added two pounds of freon and performed a leak check. They said they dont use the outdated electronic leak detectors. They use the latest and greatest which is a dye they put into the system.$917 later...they put in freon and dye. We had to call them repeatedly to follow up and look for leaks. It took them a month to get back out. No leaks. So I would let you draw your own conclusion. Is 2 pounds of freon and leak check worth $917? Was that a fair price? You be the judge.
Called this place for two parts. Rip offs!! Quoted me close to $575 for both. I went with another company and am walking out the door with the two same parts for $118.14 after tax! You can do the math to see difference in price. Will not shop with them EVER!!
Needed a new HVAC capacitor for furnace, extremely hard part to find. Most other suppliers wouldnt sell it to me because Im not a contractor. But...Federal heating did!Very friendly and knowledgeable! I would recommend this place if you want to save some $money$.
My ignitor went out when I was at work. Called Federal Heating Supply and they had the correct part. No hassles and very fair price. Staff was great.
When our furnace stopped blowing warm air, my fiance & I went to Federal Heating Supply for parts. Janet helped us identify the problem & solve it ourselves. The customer service was above & beyond!
Very knowledgable, I am a beginer and was able to fix my furnace with their help. Thank you.
Furnaces are an absolute necessity in Colorado in the winter. I have obtained random parts for hvac supplies on a few occasions over the years. I am not a professional HVAC technician. Federal has always been very professional, prompt, competent and more than helpful. They deliver. This time I would like to extend a special thanks to Mark for his help. He said Ill call you right back and did. He helped me with my order and said the part will be here this afternoon and Ill call you 1232 PM he calls and my part is there. Not one hitch in the process. Thank you Mark and the young lady that checked me out was very friendly and efficient. A very positive experience and my family is warm tonight.
Worst customer service ever. Price gouging and rude
Fast friendly service for the diy homeowner!
Janet and Mark are ALWAYS thorough, friendly and professional! Yesterday I came in near closing time and they went the extra mile, stayed late and made sure I got the right parts I needed to get the heat back on for my clients. Thanks you guys!
I wish more of these Mom and Pop shops were still in business. It seems every industry is going to the way of dealers only so they can charge a premium. My furnace went out Christmas Eve with family and kids stuck in the cold. A local company wanted $1000 to fix it and I was able to get the part at Federal Heating for $125. The staff was courteous, listened to my questions and even gave me some tips. I cant say I noticed the no returns signs but that wasnt a concern of mine, I needed my heat back on and nothing more. 2 days later my furnace was acting up again. They were kind enough to listen to my problem over the phone and gave me some further tips. Once again things were running smooth in matter of minutes. You guys have my business and I appreciate the help during the holidays. Chris
Great people, excellent parts source.I wish they still did service, but if you talk nice, they can recommend quality, reasonably priced service providers.
Nice friendly folks. They have hot water heating parts sitting on the shelf. Needed a new recirc pump. Identical replacement was on hand.
I wanted to offer a balancing review since I had a pretty good experience today. I called up to check on whether they had a part in stock and had good customer service on the phone and in person. The people behind the counter were friendly and helpful. I will say their policies seem heavy handed (many signs around the store shouting they dont every take returns on anything and its definitely your fault if you make a mistake). Perhaps these policies are necessary in this industry, but Id love to see a more customer-friendly policy. The place is definitely old-school, but their parts definitely got my heater up and running.
They didnt have Rheem tankless water heater parts but they looked high and low outside their warehouse and kindly.
Amazing staff service and parts! Jannett was great helped out without any issues on a cold busy day! Great place would reccomend coming here for your needs.
Worst customer service
I was needing a gas valve on my 30 yr Rheem furnace Saturday night. I was impressed that they responded to my email mail within 10 minutes. They opened the store up for me, and had the exact part i needed. I was able to have heat for the cold weekend. I would recommend Federal Heating to any do-it-yourselfer. Great people.
Furnace ignitor went out while out of town, came back on the weekend to a 37 degree house. Called HVAC companies and was quoted $375 for just the part. Found online but needed it quickly and found Federal Heating Supply (open on a Saturday no less). Called ahead and they said they had it, came by and they quickly found it, verified it was not broken or damaged, rang me up, and I was back home in no time. Part installed and heat back. Cant believe people complain about the price when you cant just buy any of these at a local Home Depot or Walmart. Its a local small business, of course they cant compete on price, nothing stopping you from buying online. But when its cold out and you need it quick its worth it. Thanks Federal Heating Supply!
Great place for all your supply needs, very friendly folks! They didnt have what I needed but went out of their way in directing me to another place that was a competitor to try and find what I needed!
EXCELENT! I tried looking for a part for my 20 year old evaporative cooler, and NO ONE had this part. I called Federal Heating, and spoke to Cheryl, who looked in store and wasnt able to find it, BUT took the effort to track one down for me from a supplier. I ordered this same piece from HOME DEPOT and it was supposed to take a week to arrive, and then they or UPS lost it in the mail, but Cheryl and Federal Heating were able to find it and have it to me with in a day! I wish I would have used Federal first. Lesson learned. THANK YOU!
Great serviceThanks
Im not a customer, but I tried to be. I went in looking for a replacement furnace igniter. Not only did they test my old one for me and tell me I didnt need a new one, but they talked with me and gave me some thoughts on what else could be wrong. I said I live an hour from here. Are there any cheap parts I should take home with me in case I need them? They said no. So they helped me out, and twice declined the opportunity to sell me something I didnt need. You just dont find that kind of integrity very often. Next time I need furnace parts, I wouldnt dream of going anywhere else.
Mom and Pop bozos. Bought a HVAC condensation pump it failed after 4 months. I call manufacturer and asked if it was still under 2 year warranty and they said yes. The factory sticker shows it was made 14 months ago.Manufacturer said take it back and they will reimburse Federal so it should not be an issue. Well it was. These bozos wanted the original reciept? Even though it had manufactured date on devise. A big box hardware store would had taken this back in a heartbeat. Park supply another distributor in town laughed at their policy. Do not go to Federal they will not stand behind their junk they sell.
Very helpful old business selling heating and cooling parts and services. They worked with us and even called around a bit to try to find a particular part. The prices are much higher than Walmart or Home Depot, but if youre looking for specialty parts or expertise those places dont have, Federal is a good option. Watch out for the curb driving into their parking lot- it doesnt slant at all and you can damage your car.
They sell parts to the public! Thats important for many reasons. When your HVAC technician charges you $450+ (or $1500 in some cases) for a simple capacitor repair, it helps to know that they may actually costs $20 and the job takes 5 minutes TOPS. I get that they have to make a living... But I also get the meaning of fair price. I also get supply and demand. Supply yourself with parts at a reasonable price and demand for fake inflated prices goes down quite a bit. This is the real reason HVAC supply companies dont sell to the public. They are trying to create a false demand for their needlessly expensive, marked up parts to take your hard earned money. They know you have no idea... Now you do.
These guys n gals helped me with my furnace problem. But I ended up ordering parts from a different supplier
Good people doing good work. Highly recommend.
This is the worst company that I answer have had the displeasure of dealing with . I bought a defective part from them and when I told them it was defective, they didnt believe me & told me to call a repairman. The repairman told me that the part was defective and replaced it and my heater worked fine. The companyrefused to give me my money back and only gave me a replacment part after I argued with them .So now I have had to pay a repairman, buy an extra part and now I have an unnecessary from the company.
People are very very helpful. Tons of parts in stock and are able to order in almost any other part or equipment.
Charged me $70 for a $15 ignitor on my furnace. Since I had few options at the time. I didn’t bring it up.
This is my go to company when I want to get something done myself and not deal with the crazy prices that HVAC places charge. They either have what I need or they can get it even if they have to go out of their way a little. If you are even thinking about DIY, give them a call.
Great service
Great customer service and competitive pricing. Love the personal and thorough interaction I had when buying my garage heater here
I am very pleased with my experience at Federal Heating Supply. Not only did they have the hard to find part I needed, they all had experience with the furnace I was working on.
Staff was so helpful and went to get me a part even after theyd already made their daily part run. Meant a lot to me because we had no heat in the winter!
Overpriced
Great place, small and family owned. Theyve been in business forever and carry harder to get parts for furnaces.
Great help over the phone, had my part on hand and was able to quickly provide it when I showed up.
These Guys Rock that is all there is to it.. Just about no one will assist a DIYer with parts for HVAC equipment, but they ordered or had in stock everything I needed to get my lennox system running again and August without AC is no joke.. Helpful, Courteous and they always answer the phone or call ya right back.. The best experience I have had with a company in 20 years... Quote from HVAC professional was to replace a fan and capacitor on a condenser unit at 746.00; The problem was actually a bad contactor.. about 40 bucks, and that was quoted at an additional 225.00! DIY cost was under 400.00 Thanks Federal you guys rock, and I am now super cool!
Excellent group of people. Ill being going here for all of my heating and cooling repair parts needs.
Just an average homeowner who does his own hydronic furnace work here. Was in a big jam with a broken part and a long night before I got to FHAC. Walked in the door exhausted and met with an elderly gentleman who never made me feel stupid and answered all my questions, even making a recommendation beyond what I was thinking of when I entered that ended up helping a ton.Previous reviewer mentioned the big NO RETURNS sign. Yes, that might be the only negative, but at least its unmissable. Being a truly local and small business, it makes sense that they have this policy.Id argue that the helpfulness they provide should, in most cases, avoid the need for a return, as opposed to blindly ordering parts on Amazon only to find they were wrong two days later (previous experience).Anyway, highly recommended if you need parts and like a local, personal touch.
My AC stopped working, 90 degrees out so i went to a place that opened at 7am close to this (Trans Supply) but they dont sell to the public and neither does Johnstone so I found myself outside Federal Heating at 7:20am, they dont open till 8. But the people inside must have seen me waiting because they opened a good 20 minutes earlier.Don and Mark listened to my AC issues, took the time to show me a new ac and how it worked and what to check to troubleshoot. It took me a day to find and fix the problem but these guys were helpful and available the whole time. I kept calling for advice and they were patient. The part itself was a little more expensive but i would rather support them then some online company.Update:Just a heads up they dont take returns and the pump i paid them $120 for is $36 on amazon. I understand they are a small independent business and cant compete with Amazon but FYI...
