I chose this garage based off the good reviews that he received so I feel inclined to write a review, which I never do. This is the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a mechanic. His Communication skills are terrible. Well.. he doesn’t have ANY communication skills! My Jeep was in his shop for a month and a half. He could not figure out what was wrong with it, and just kept putting it off because of it. He never called me, ONCE. He would say he’s checking on something and that he would call me back and a week would go by with no call. I had to call him and every time I did, he literally forgot who I was! A month and a half later, I finally towed my Jeep to My Mechanic in Littleton who has phenomenal communication skills.Do not give this guy your business.

I feel obligated to share my experiences with Chucks Discount Muffler and Automotive. My Jeep had a complete restoration and lift package done to it. I asked Chuck to do several things. Check the overall steering and suspension as I wanted to be sure it was ready for off roading. Do the check engine light correction. Mount 2 side running boards. After over 3 months of me calling and stopping in, I finally took my uncompleted Jeep elsewhere. No, the steering and suspension had not been worked on, no the check engine light did not get corrected and no the running boards did not get mounted. He did sell me a new exhaust even though a brand new one had been installed in the restoration. He tried to sell me a new steering box but fortunately I took it away before he replaced that because my new mechanic says it is not necessary. In summary, Chuck lied to me multiple times. He took forever and still he didnt do the work I asked him to do and that he said he would do. And finally, he sold me or tried to sell me work that was not needed. I do not trust him and I would never, ever recommend him to anyone.

I live in Wisconsin but drove to Denver to visit my son. On my way to Denver, I must have hit something as my cars exhaust heat shield was smooshed. I took it to a dealer. The person at the dealer said that I need to replace power shaft as well as the heat shield because the smooshed heat shield damaged the power shaft. She said, it will take two days and may cost thousands of dollars. She suggested that I get my insurance involved. I took it to the Discount Muffler & Automotive. Chuck flattened the heat shield and put it back for free. He said that it cost him nothing, so he does not want to charge me. I could not believe what I was hearing. I believe he is the most honest auto mechanic in the world. I wish his shop was in Wisconsin. I give my strongest recommendation to Chuck.

I had my Catalytic Converter stolen off my vehicle. Chucks Discount Muffler was a recommended to me by my mechanic Ken at Bonnie Brae Conaco. I could not have asked for a better recommendation. Chuck and his team worked with my insurance and got my vehicle fixed. They were easy and delightful to work with. I would definitely recommend Chucks Discount Muffler for future service. Went here about 5 months back. Paid $100 for a resonator delete and my man Chuck told his guy to go ahead and weld on a tailpipe since I did the good old muffler deleto with a sawzall. All for free!! Felt really bad I couldnt leave a tip because all I had was the $100 I was quoted. If you need exhaust weldy work this is the go to place.

The only man/exhaust guru, I trust!

Let me save you the time and pain of calling around. Being new to a city and not knowing a trustworthy mechanic can be a daunting feeling. After calling down a long list of mechanics to see who could put a catalytic converter on our new 1985 VW Vanagon, and being told over and over that it was too old to work on or that wed have to bring the van in before theyd tell us anything, finally I was referred to Chucks. To my surprise, it was Chuck himself who answered. He was patient with me as I, with no mechanical inclination, amateurishly described what I thought the exhaust system looked like. He asked some questions and we talked over various options, and I had a good feeling from the getgo. When I arrived he put the van up on the lift right away and I asked if I could have a look at the underside while it was up there. Two other employees, Raymond and Kelly, came up to me separately to talk about the van. I asked them each if they could give it a quick lookover and tell me what they thought of the condition of the hoses and other items on the underbelly. They were both delighted to and gave me really great information. When Chuck came out he happily did the same and gave his own opinions. Later Raymond even helped me pop the trunk lock off that I was needing to get rekeyed, which had been giving me grief for over an hour with a stripped bolt. It took him 15 seconds. After all of the help, the friendliness, and possibly the best experience Ive ever had in an auto shop, the charge to install the new catalytic converter was extremely reasonable. With all the added advice and care, I felt like was getting away with a steal. Save yourself the time and expense and go here first, and you wont regret it.

If you need any catalytic converter, or exhaust work done, go to Chucks. I failed emissions and he was very helpful.

Took my work truck in for a possible exhaust leak, there ended up being nothing wrong with the truck. They were honest and didn’t try to up sell me on anything and they didn’t charge me to look at the truck. Very nice folks and family owned............highly recommend

Chuck said my very loud SUV would purr after he was finished with the recommended repairs and you know what, it does! Honestly, never would have believed my SUV would ever start up smoothly or run quietly... it runs like a totally different vehicle. His shop was knowledgable, quoted price was the actual price, thanks to their experience, they know what they were needing to do. THE BEST PART is Chuck found an issue from another mechanic and fixed that work for me, free of charge. Rarely happens, so thankful I found his mechanic shop; will definitely be back.

We were originally concerned when we tried calling Buds Muffler, but it rang through to this place. We read the reviews and were pleased with them so decided to take our sons car here as its check engine light came on less than 48 hours after passing its emissions test. We scheduled an appointment. They came back saying that it needed new catalytic converters, but could start with one. We knew that it had a muffler leak that needed fixing. The catalytic converter was $450 plus some other parts, labor and taxes would bring it to just shy of $1000. After researching, we asked additional questions about the testing of the O2 sensor and what test determined that it was the catalytic converter. They said they didnt test anything, that the check engine light was on. We said that we wanted to have the muffler fixed, have them clear the code so we could see if that fixed it. If the check engine light came back on, then we would know that we need to look at something else. How would the muffler pipe repair be. $400. When asking for why the discrepancy - - - they got very defensive. First thing this AM my husband said ok fine, lets just go forward with fixing the muffler and we will be by between 4:30-5p today. They arrived to pick it up, and it wasnt done. We had an appointment for the work. They didnt say that werent able to get to it today. My husband said fine, Ill just take the keys and we will go elsewhere. My husband is not a yeller, and certainly not scary. They had someone follow my husband out to the car in a threatening and aggressive manner. He thought he might get jumped as he was walking out of the place. They even followed him to the end of their driveway as he drove away aggressively pointing and gesturing. It was weird - threatening - and scary. We are fearful of retaliation and know where to look if anything happens. Weirdest scariest experience. DO NOT GO!!!

I needed to get some exhaust work done on my old Toyota with just over 300,000 miles on it. I wasnt looking to spend to much on repairs however and needed it done soon. I gave them a call and they were willing to take a look at it when other, more well known shops turned me down or gave outrageous prices. We set up something same day and not only was the work done quick, it was done right. I would recommend these guys for whatever muffler work youve got going on.

Honest straightforward mechanics are hard to find. But these guys are the real deal. I took my vehicle there for what I thought was a minor issue. They inspected it THURLY. They recommended not repairing anything as the issue was coming from deep inside the turbo system and the overall cost to fix the issue would have exceeded the value of my vehicle. I had an outstanding experience at Chucks. I made an appointment to swing by over the lunch hour just to get an estimate to replace my muffler. Chuck gave me an estimate that was very fair and reasonable and when I asked about scheduling a time to complete the repair, Chuck offered to do it right then and there. 15 minutes later he had completed the repair and I was headed out the door. I really couldnt believe it.Highly recommend this shop. I will look to Chucks in the future for upcoming repairs.

Great service and very reasonable. I brought my 2013 ford fusion in. I was low on cash having just put a down payment on this car that had no muffler. There is limited information about the exhaust for my car and I had another muffler shop quote me $500 to reinstall a muffler. They took care of me same day for almost half the price. They even stayed late to make sure that I got my car back on the road. I would recommend you come by here before other shops.

Okay I get it its a muffler shop. But For All Mankind please clean your bathroom and maybe a small TV for your customers to watch while theyre waiting would be nice and the old porno theater seating in your office need to be changed to. My car sounds better with the $400 overw priced Muffler but I still hear an exhaust leak sorry just being real very nice staff and yes Chuck is an awesome guy he does know his stuff

Went in 5 minutes before close with an idea of the problem, by end of next business day it was ready to go, and I was dead wrong - the repair was several hundred dollars cheaper than expected. Last night, I hit a bump and a rusted-out spot in my muffler opened up. My 05 Corolla sounded like I was trying to turn it into the worlds most uninspiring sports car.My wife and I are moving to Seattle in four days, so I was eager to have a road-worthy vehicle quickly.Even better, Im new to Denver. I didnt have anyone to reach out to for a trustworthy mechanic.So, I took it to Garys Auto Service on Santa Fe, who told me that he could replace the exhaust system, but that Chuck might be able to patch the hole or just replace part of the pipe.A new exhaust system, installed, would run me $1600.I called Chuck, and he was great. Collected my details, asked about the car, and had me bring it over so he could take a look.I brought my car over, and was walking down the street to Breakfast King for lunch (per Chucks recommendation), and before I even got there, Chuck called and said it was an easy fix.It would cost $100, and would be done by the time I was back from lunch.:)So, Chuck treated me well, and had my car back in action. Hes kind, and trustworthy. Even if it was a more expensive repair, I would be thrilled with the service. Chuck strikes me as trustworthy, and looking through other reviews on here, many other people feel the same.Hes been in business for 26-ish years (he was having trouble remembering exactly how many) and Im not surprised. Wow. Super friendly and trustworthy repair shop. We took our SUV in for a wheel bearing repair. On a day when most other shops were closed, they got us right in, communicated estimates and turned it around quickly. AND, they found something they didnt originally diagnose and took care of it for free. Well be back.

I Googled this shop off of Maps. Spoke to Chuck and articulated as best as I could the context of my vehicles issue. He seemed intrigued and offered to diagnose my vehicle in a short amount of time.I dropped off my car and went to work. By end of day, the diagnosis was way off what I assumed (Im no mechanic obviously). Chuck and his team found 2 issues that were causing my car to act like a POS. Low and behold, they replaced 2 coils that went bad. I thought it was catalytic related...In short, Chuck and his team cut right down to nitty gritty and problem solved my issue. I am now running on all 4 cylinders again.This is my review and I stand by Chucks Discount Muffler and Automotive.

After an entire day of calling around the state for custom exaust work Chucks Muffer & Auto came out on top. Not only were they the best priced but the quickest time estimate and was able to even beat their own estimate! I left extremely satisfied and i suggest you try the same. The interior of the building is well beyond aged but i dont need to relax at a mechanic shop we are there to get work done.

This place is really as good as the reviews would suggest. I live in Ohio, and my daughter goes to Univ. of Denver -- we needed exhaust work on her vintage Rav4, and Shawn at Chucks took great care of the problem at a reasonable price. Trying to find a mechanic you can trust remotely is a scary proposition, but I feel like I now have that place. NOTE that the only negative review, having no comments at all, looks entirely bogus.Update 12-18-18 -- The HITS keep on coming --- these guys need to have SIX STARS -- Five STARS is truly not enough. Please know that I live in Ohio and have never met anyone at Chucks, but the way they treat my daughter with her old 99 RAV4, never even hinting at any ripoffs, is beyond amazing. My car wouldn’t pass emissions testing. For half the price of some other shops and only 45 minutes, Brian and his crew had my car up to spec with a high flow catalytic converter the day I needed it . I would highly recommend this shop.

My 2006 Pathfinder had a check engine light on and was having some operational issues. I took it to a Nissan dealer and was told I needed a new catalytic converter for $900.00+ . My husband took it to Chucks for a second opinion. He checked the catalytic converters and there was nothing wrong with them. It needed a new oxygen sensor that ended up costing about $230.00 for labor and cost of replacement. I have used Chucks again for various repairs or second opinions, and always feel that he is honest, kind, has the highest integrity, and is single handedly trying to change the image of the auto repair shop rip off. I would recommend Chucks to everyone, especially those who feel a bit of a panic at the mention of auto repair.

Was not impressed drove from Colorado springs to Denver to talk to them and find out why hed had my girlfriends car for over a month got there the cars not there supposedly he says oh its over at another shop were having them take a look at it and hes like what so next day we go get the car $700 supposedly to fix the problem the problem was not fixed and car broke down 3 days later my girlfriend was so upset she would not take the car back to have them look at it cuz we think they took parts off of it and put it on his daughters car cuz she had the same 2000 Honda Accord XT she ended up selling it for scrap metal thanks a lot dont go here very unsatisfactory service

I was referred here by Pete from Firestone because Firestone didnt offer the exhaust services we needed. I was told to ask for Chuck and I am so glad we came in here!When I first walked in, the environment is very eclectic. The lobby area is pretty cool when you pay attention to all of the little details they have. I walked up to the counter and was greeted by a young man, whom I later found is named Sean (Shawn). I asked for Chuck and was informed that Chuck was on vacation. Sean asked how HE could help me.I explained that during the weekend, while we were backing out of our camping spot in the mountains, the truck fell into a deep hole and the muffler was bent against a rock. The muffler at this point was only inches from the road while driving and we felt it was extremely dangerous. A small speed bumb was too much and, in addition, the exhaust pipe itself was bent in and mangled. Every place we took it to for a quote was informing us that it could NOT be fixed and that we would need to purchase the part, an of course the labor, in order to have a safe vehicle again.Sean (or Shawn... I apologize if the spelling is wrong) brought the truck in and lifted it to examine it. He asked if I wanted the muffler all shiny like a lamborghini or..? I stated that we just needed the muffler to be functional and not a road hazard. It was still fully intact but bent in an extreme fashion. He said to give him 20 minutes.He was super awesome and had my muffler fixed and back in place in less than 30 minutes! It works great and we have not had any issues. I would definitely recommend bringing your vehicle by Chucks if you would like amazing service, no BS and a friendly face to take care of you. Thank You Sean!! Exhaust work is never cheap but sometimes the quality of the work is. But not at Chucks. He puts on quality tubing, bends nicely, and tucks up to the body where it needs to be. I bring my customers cars down after major engine conversions and work and havent had one I didnt like the results of yet.

This actually happened some years ago. I broke the brick in my catalytic converter on my Accord. Antero wanted something like $700 to replace it. An acquaintances shop up in Arvada wanted $500 some. Chucks did it for $430 and had me in and out in 45 minutes.

I went to Chucks based on consumer reviews and am glad I did. I thought it was just had an old muffler. Turns out there was a hole in the top of it that melted things that controlled my shocks and a bundle of electrical wires. New muffler, new air line for the shocks and I found a new mechanic.

Not the cheapest in town. But the job gets done the first time right, and he will not fix anything that is not needed.
