(Writing this as a Canadian) Visited the Wolcott Guns range for a fun group outing (6 of us) and it exceeded our expectations! Excellent long-gun rental selection (no firearm license needed) and they were able to outfit and brief my buddies who weren’t familiar with long guns, and answer more detailed questions for those of us who were. It’s not every day you can fire an AK-47, AR-15, M4, etc. They have two ranges (25 + 50 yds) as well as an archery range. Great selection of products in-store and a sitting area while waiting or cooling down! It should also be mentioned they have a huge respect for safety, and are always willing to help the most amateur or experienced shooters. If you’re on the fence about this place- go for it! Looking forward to going back at some point when I’m in the Buffalo area.

Had a great experience going here for my first purchase. Went to quite a few places, that either had no stock or were just rude people. Wolcotts staff was friendly, courteous, and made it way less stressful. I highly recommend them!

Had all the ammo you need, plus they are mad educated on weapons. I felt very welcomed.

I had a conceal carry class there in the last two weeks.I felt the instructor was rude and unprofessional. It was a very bad look for the store. He spent alot of time talking about himself vs teaching the class. I talked to a few of my class mates afterwards and they felt the same way.The other store employees seemed nice enough but i felt the instructor was arrogant.I would not recommend.

June 3rd 2021-gun shop requiring customers to STILL wear a mask. Are you fn kidding me? I would recommend bringing your business elsewhere-2A but put your mask on. NO, something wrong here! Laughable. Unfortunately, I bought a pistol from them years ago and since then their service has gone down hill AND the range is still closed. Go to smaller gun shops that actually care about customers and freedom.

Friendly for beginners. I came with 3 other people, we rented 2 rifles (an AR and a 9mm), and we shot for about 45 minutes. They helped teach us the basics of how to shoot. It ended up costing $38 per person, including the rifles, ammo, targets and ear protection.

Some of the most helpful, professional people around. They will spend as much time as needed to make sure you are happy with your purchase. Clean ranges, awesome archery range too! Cant believe these negative reviews this is the best place in the area by far.

The people workin there were great! I had some questions about my purchases and they explained some things i wasnt quite clear on in a way that didnt make me feel foolish.Didnt rush me out the door after my purchase like other places. Showed up at 4pm to shoot for a half hour before the range closes at 5pm and was told the last call was 3:45pm… it is a shame there is no where else to shoot recreationally in Buffalo because I would never spend another dime here.

Anyone looking for a great place to do buisness with firearms THEN LOOK NO FURTHER. This was my first time there today and Ive been to many gun shops in my days full of ignorant and rude employees. These guys are professional, and down right just nice people. Will be doing all my future firearms buisness with them.

Very bad experience. I purchased a gun went to shoot it .but did not fire.i took back to store to be told they needed the head gunsmith to look at it. After he could not figure it out they sent it to factory they claim but its been a month now.bad service

As a women shopping for a gun alone I was nervous because I didn’t know what to expect, or even what to ask. Everyone here was so nice and helpful though, and made the experience a positive one. I’m looking forward to taking their women’s only defensive handgun class the next time they have it, and I like knowing that I can stop in with any questions in the future.

This will be my third firearm purchased with the help of Wolcott Guns. My first handgun purchase went smooth, I believe I was working with the owner and he helped me decide on the right home defense handgun that is a great first time owner firearm. Since then Ive purchased 2 more and will be going back every time. The staff is courteous, helpful both in person and on the phone. They always tell you what they can do and explain how to follow the processes, theyve helped me with 2 online orders to date. Highly recommend.

The shop shows a poor understanding of firearms and over charges for bottom dollar quality Ar15 rifles. When asked about twist rates on the rifles they had no idea when asked about Acogs and Aimpoints and Ehotecs the replied why would you need something military grade i would not trust this shop with my money or business go somewhere else

And asked if someone can help.they set me up with Dan. And I paid for one lesson with him and he went above and beyond. Gave me a incredible experience and knowledge for the price I paid. Being someone whos never owned or handled a firearm. I was very intimidated and to be honest a little scared. But with the help of these guys They paved the way and gave me a great confidence and the knowledge to know how to safely and properly handle firearms and shoot. all in all Ive never had a bad experience there and even though Im a newbie. All the employees treat me with the out most respect Even though I know close to nothing, They made it incredibly easy. To get comfortable behind a firearm and to use it safely and properly with expertise knowledge Which is such an enjoyment and surprisingly friendly environment. Unfortunately, these guys gave me the bug or itch. For shooting and I bought another gun from then which they helped me all the way through from buying experience. 2 showing me how to handle and shoot it once again. I love knowing that when I walk into the range the staff remembers who I am, as in knows my name. This is a RARE thing these days. I appreciate the way the staff treat me (not a beginner) and how they treat beginning shooters. Most people inside the range are nice and willing to help if you have a simple question. They have good services for transferring rifles and a fantastic BOW RANGE and classes!!!!!Stop in and say hi!

Great place to go, staff is very knowledgeable and patient enough to answer questions. Josh, Cliff, and Derek know what theyre talking about. I would recommend anyone looking to buy a handgun to go here. Theyll take the time to give you as much help as possible so you can make an informed decision on what you buy. If you dont see it on the shelf, they can probably get it for you too. The range is well maintained and watched over to keep things safe. They have lessons available as well. I cannot recommend this place enough, go there.

My boyfriend, myself and his father came in to take our basic pistol permit class and I learned things I never knew I could learn. We were all hoping to take our personal protection class but we are low on funds at the moment and the owner helped cut us some slack for our next class. I 100% highly recommend coming to this shop for anything gun-related!

I have had nothing but good experiences at Wolcott. Most recently I purchased my first handgun from them, which was another great experience. I rented 4 guns first to see what I liked and shot well. As I was ready to go and purchase one, I got talked into trying another rental, as Matt had thought I may like his suggestion better based on my feedback. Following that, there was another gun on consignment which they let me put a box through. For both the extra rental plus trying the consignment gun, they threw me in either free ammo and/or didnt charge me a range or rental fee. They were just trying to help me make the best purchase, and it was appreciated and I felt I was treated well.I have also gone to their indoor range to shoot my rifle, and that has always been a good experience.The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, the facility is nice, and seemingly wide selection of product. Dont hesitate to go to these guys (and girls)!

Incredible service, friendly staff. Knew what I wanted, they had one in stock. Filled out the paper work and had my documentation for the permit office. Out the door in about 15-20 minutes. Compared to my experience at a local big box store - I waited there over 45 minutes without being helped. This will definitely be my go to store going forward!

Called a day ahead and asked about an AR15, and was promised that theyd have one for me on Friday. I spent 30min driving there, but by the time i got to the store, they told me that they are all sold out. I will never come back again to support a store that cant keep promises to its customers.

Excellent experience! I spoke with Josh, explained it was my first time buying a guy, explained what I wanted to do with it. He spread out a variety of manufactures, and styles. He let me try all of them and was very patient with me asking as many questions as I could think of. Friendly staff, great place to rent firearms to try out. Not a huge selection on supplies or ammo though. I do believe their rental system needs to be ran better. When I went, the mentioned to the initial cashier I had Thank a vet discount. However, when I went to check out after my rental, a new cashier was there and he said the first cashier never put in my discount. He also asked me how many boxes of ammo did I use, as if it was never noted initially. After I paid, I noticed on my receipt I was charged for 4 target papers, when I only bought 2. It was only 3 bucks that I didnt think it was worth asking back. There should be better accountability, otherwise it was great day at the range and experience overall.

Love this place. Used to be the regular date night spot for my wife and I (I of course let her beat me when shooting on the battleship target). Gotta get back into shooting again, I miss those guys. Staff is awesome. Doesnt matter who you speak with, youll be treated like a regular from day 1. Plenty of guns and gear at great prices. Couldnt say enough good about them!

My wife and I both purchased our first rifles here and are extremely pleased with our experience. Josh and Cliff were great about answering any of our questions, even showing me how to field strip my rifle before I bought it. Whenever we are there they have always taken the time to make sure you get the help you need and wont rush you or pressure you into decisions. They make a point to try and guide you into a purchase that will suit your needs the best and not just to make a sale. I know my wife and I will be bringing our firearm purchases here from now on.

Met the owners the first time I stopped in. Very friendly and professional. Have been going there about once a month (or two) since theyve opened, always a clean organized facility. Brought some friends of mine a few times, next thing you know, one of them is purchasing a rifle from them, and it was a very fair deal for both sides. Great place, great owners/management and staff. This was not my first time going there but it was the first time I felt it was important to write a review about. I went there for advice and to possibly purchase a new barrel for an old shotgun. They were more interested in making sure I got what I wanted than they were in making a sale. After discussing my options, they actually showed me where I could get what I wanted at a better price! You just dont find that kind of service anymore! I was amazed and they will continue to have my business.

Have been here many times and bought firearms here. Mostly helpful and nice. Today i took my sister and her boyfriend to shoot. After my sisters BF took 3 shots one of their employees ive never seen before Sprinted into the range screaming at him that he shot the ceiling and had to pay for fines...we were shocked and never have i dealt with this before. We didnt argue or deny it said wed like to see the video since the man said he had one and he lost it. screamed and flipped out so we left. Unfortunatly i wont return there. Very wierd

Very informative and patient. The staff explained everything without pressuring me to purchase Today. One of the salespeople even offered to allow me to use his handgun on the range because the gun I was interested in was not available for rent. Had it not been for the fact that a big box store had the gun I wanted Slightly cheaper I would have purchased from wolcotts. I will definitely go back and purchase from them in the future. Best indoor range in the area. fair hourly fee and awesome facility. they have a 25 and a 50yrd range as well as a bow range. the staff are really nice and helpful and VERY knowladgeable. my favorite indoor range to visit. the have an ample variaty of firearms for sale and very well priced. their rental firearms inventory is plentiful and includes pretty much, most of the categories and types you may want to try out.

My new favorite place to go and shoot and have a great safe time I would highly recommend who may have never been to Wolcott Range to check it out you will not be disappointed. Also they have a very knowledgeable gunsmith who is very kind and well educated if perhaps your firearm needs a checkup or want something such as fiber optic sights to a total tear down and rebuild or a trigger jobby, in my opinion you could not ask for better people who are willing to help or answer any questions you may have. I went there to get information about some pistols and ended up purchasing one. The staff was friendly and very helpful, letting me look at and compare multiple pistols while explaining differences between the various models.

Ive been there twice so far. First time was during their Springfield event and then tonight. Both times I was there the springfield they were packed and tonight barely anyone there. Both times I got awesome service and talked about firearms reguardless of how busy they were. They also gave me a really good deal on ammo. I have closer shops to me but I really like this one so the ill be going back frequently even though its a 45 min drive. I was also openly invited to come out to their uspsa event. Its way closer than the old range I frequented. Prices are good. Though I brought my own long guns, one cant rent their pistols without permits due to New York States laughable draconian gun laws. Way to go NYS

These guys are awesome! Nice selection of rifles and handguns. 25 and 50 yard Indoor ranges plus entry of accessories.

Staff was very friendly and informative. Price for range time is good. I like the fact that they didnt pro rate me. I spent maybe an hour and 20 minutes but was only charged for an hour. Ammo could be cheaper; but I know they need to make money. They lost a star because there are no barriers above the side walls where you shoot to prevent casings from flying over. I had casings raining over the wall to me the whole time and some of them were hot and burned my neck and arm. Also the range has shooting bags available to assist in sighting in weapons. All in all I would go again after they put something to cover casing from raining over.

Ive had several trips to wolcott over the years. The staff has always been extremely helpful, the prices are fair and the ffl service is outstanding.I wish they would add additional lights in the range to help illuminate the first few yards of the range. Its a wee bit dark for me.But overall a great local business and I am going to be a repeat customer.

They have a great selection of rentals and the archery ranges are phenomenal. I am seriously considering buying a years membership because I am there so often.

Went to FN Range day. For a small fee I got to shoot some awesome guns by FN. Had a great time, friendly knowledgeable staff. Owners are there onsite. Great gun range. Lots of guns for sale at competitive prices.

Went there a couple of days ago. Asked if I could rent a gun they said no. Was disappointed because I read so many reviews about people buying and renting guns from them. Had a good time shooting what I had though. I would not be going again. Overall it was fun shooting the ranges are much quieter than others. . But after I checked out the service got much better. I guess I can only get good service there if I pay first but their policy is pay at the end. Every time I went to ngr I had a good time shooting my guns and they actually let me rent their guns. If I cant be treated and respected like everyone else I will spend my time and money where I can. I am of middle eastern decent and look like the typical arab, but whenever I go anywhere I always make an extra effort to be courteous and respectful and always respect people and the businesses and beliefs. If only I was respected the same way at the range instead of being told I cant rent a gun when it says on the website they do. Hope they learn to respect others or people will feel disrespected and take their business elsewhere like me. Ngr looks like youre my go to.
