My sister contracted with this company to turn a sunroom into a 4-seasons room. The review I just posted detailed the difficulties she was having with having the job successfully completed. I greatly appreciate the prompt response from the company explaining aspects of the situation that I was not aware of, as well as emphasizing their commitment to quality work and customer satisfaction. I will be visiting next month and will be happy to change this to a five-star review, hopefully with pictures, as we enjoy her new home addition.The completed room is just wonderful. We hired Cortese Construction Services to remodel our Kitchen and perform some other repairs to our dining room. The service from Cortese was impressive from the start. Sheldon was our assigned salesperson and he worked with us in our home to find out exactly what we wanted to have done. Then he prepared a number of options so we could get what we wanted to have done within our budget. He worked with the estimator, Tyler, in order to help us to complete our project within our budget. And then the project managers Dillon and Vinnie worked to finalize the details on our project before the work began so that everything would be in place when it started. Then Ryan as the project foreman and the individual who performed most of the work did an outstanding job not only with the quality of the work but the speed and his general attitude towards the job. He wanted it done as if it was his own home and he wanted us to be happy. Dillon and Ryan were even able to offer some design advice and gave suggestions that we had not thought of.They always arrived on time, the materials were always made available through their logistics personnel and the work was completed on time. They even were able to handle some last-minute scheduling adjustments that we made to fit our own schedule.We had never hired anyone to do this kind of work or to this extent in our home and frankly I was worried when we were beginning the process. But the individuals at Cortese construction services did such an outstanding job that all of my worries were put to the side and now we really enjoy our kitchen!

I called Cortese because we were considering converting a bedroom into a master bath and walk in closet. Phil came to the house to take measurements and discuss the project. A few weeks later, we met at his office where he reviewed every detail of the project while displaying a computer rendering of the project. We couldnt have asked for more! Phil covered every detail and answered all questions. The experience was amazing. Unfortunately, we decided that we will not go forward with the project but, if we had, we would have chosen Cortese hands down! We still have contractors that have not yet returned our call in over 3 months. There are contractors who came, saw and measured and said theyd submit an estimate but never did. We wound up with the choice of two contractors but absolutely, unequivocally would have chosen to work with Cortese. From the very start to this very early finish, I just cannot speak highly enough of the wonderful experience we had meeting and speaking to Phil. There is no doubt in my mind that this company makes its clients the highest priority. If youre on the fence, choose Cortese! Theyll make your vision happen!

I have had numerous projects done, including remodeling my kitchen, bathroom, and adding a deck and awning, They are the nicest and most professional people to do business with. Cortese Construction was hired to update a half bathroom unit by adding a shower. My decision to use the company was based on the very positive and professional experience I had when about fifteen plus years ago when they converted a sun screen room to a family room . The current project was handled similarly .Domenic consulted with me in my home and recommended design and construction of project based on my expressed needs. He then prepared the work design as he did that many years ago. Everyone was courteous, punctual and professional in handling the project from start to finish.The project managers Vinny and Dillion took over to manage the project and Jacob “Jake” was the assigned project foreman who did most of the actual work in the home . Dillion over saw the project making sure all needed supplies were made available and regularly checked project progress . I was regularly kept abreast of each step of the project as it progressed in the home.I was more than satisfied and impressed with the finished product and all who participated in making it happen. I would definitely use them again or recommend them to anyone.

We are extremely pleased with our bathroom remodel! From start to finish, everyone we dealt with (Dominic, Dillon, Ryan, and Rebecca) was friendly, knowledgeable, polite and considerate. Ryan, our project foreman, was punctual, hard working, and thorough. He was extremely organized and left our bathroom (and garage) clean and organized everyday. He worked fast and did everything he could to minimize the time our shower was out of service. Dillon was friendly and kept us updated with the progress of the work! We are so happy in the future and would definitely use Cortese in the future for our home improvement needs!

My husband and I hired Cortese construction for a bathroom addition. We decided to go with Cortese because although they charge top dollar we had heard great reviews and we wanted the job to be done right. Ultimately the bathroom looks great now but it was a process (10weeks). We were told it would be two weeks, when We confronted the manager Brian Alexander on week 8 he barely let us get a word in about our concerns. He told us the project took much longer because we added built in shelves in the shower, yet they did not even start the shower until week 6 or 7. We did also need drywall done in our bedroom due to the spray foam insulation we had done but to expect 2 weeks and end up with your house torn up for 10 weeks is extremely frustrating. I am not sure if it is their company as a whole or if it was just the men working our project but throughout the job we felt that the progress was extremely slow (most days they were here 8 hours and my husband I would go to look at the progress and we would just shrug our shoulders confused at what they did all day), they were sloppy and clean up was not great. On their last day here we went into the bathroom and immediately found a dozen flaws that were not fixed just due to laziness. I would have thought for the amount they charged us that the job would have been perfect but it seemed that they didn’t even take pride in their work. Luckily the project manager agreed this was not right and a man named Billy came to fix these things. Billy did a great job. He was very efficient. I am overall really disappointed in the amount of money we spent because I feel that a smaller company or independent contractor would have taken much more pride in their work.

After interviewing three general contractors we selected Cortese to remodel our basement into a game room, TV / Entertainment area and ½ bath. We are extremely pleased with the process and results. We first met with Tyler S. to discuss preliminary ideas, take measurements, review concept drawings and finalize the project. Timelines were discussed and agreed on. Cortese held a pre-construction meeting where we met the project team including Brian, Vinney, Dillon and site supervisor / lead carpenter Dan.During this meeting, the team, while reviewing the plans suggested ideas and minor changes that would enhance our project. Project started on time and completed on schedule. Dillon was excellent on keeping us up to date on the process and keeping to the schedule, which was particularly important to us. His communication skills were impressive.We can not say enough good things about Dan and towards the end of the project his assistant Mike.They were meticulous in their work, fantastic craftsmanship and so detailed oriented.The entire team was so considerate while in our home, no swearing, extremely polite, and trustworthy.At the end of every day, they ensured to clean up the entire project area.The new addition turned out so much better than we envisioned.We are incredibly pleased we chose Cortese and would hire them again for future projects.We strongly recommend Cortese to our family, friends and anyone looking for a General Contractor.

Cortese remolded my kitchen a few years ago something was dropped on my floor and removed part of the lament.I had the flooring tile, grout and adhesive so Bill came and replaced the tile.He was very polite did a excellent job and when the job was done I had no clean up Bill left it spotless.So happy with their work Looking to have a bathroom remolded and I will definitely have them Thanks for a great job Bill

We contacted Cortese Construction because the previous contractor whom we hired from another company built us a faulty shower. It was leaking through our shower floor and into our basement. We were referred to the Cortese handyman service which turned out to be the best option since it was a small job. It was also financially reasonable for what we were asking for. The work involved removing the tiled shower floor, the bottom row of the tiled shower wall, the marble threshold, and the shower door (which we were able to reuse). They also had to fix the faulty plumbing that was in place. Jake was the guy who came and did the estimate. He was extremely professional and communicative. Cale was the guy who did all the manual work, including the demo and the rebuilding of the shower. This guy is amazing at what he does. He is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and professional as well. We have had such a good experience with Cortese Construction that we will not look elsewhere for other home improvement jobs in the future.

I had to have a range installed and a new door installed in my living room/garage. I am so pleased with the work that was done. They were so meticulous and tried so hard to do exactly what I wanted even though what I wanted created extensive work. I wanted my door to open into the garage instead of opening into the living room. This created More work and some Creativity as I should have bought a custom door. But they made it work with what they had. The result is absolutely beautiful I can’t stop looking at my door and I love going in and out the way that it should’ve been from the beginning.Justin was so professional so charming and so accommodating. I understand he hasn’t been working with Cortese very long but I believe he should have a raise. He had a helper but I can’t remember his name and he too was very pleasant. I can’t wait to have more work that needs to be done so that I can have them back.

After many years of research and looking at bathroom remodeling I decided to convert a 1920 sunroom into a SPA bathroom. I spoke with 4 construction companies. Cortese was the most easiest to work with and met my budget needs. Nick developed a few great floor plans. Ron the carpenter did an excellent job turning the sunroom into a room of my dreams. A soaking tub by the windows and a walk in rain shower with a pebble floor. I love it! I lived with only one small bathroom upstairs with an old pedestal tub for 15 years! Brian made sure everything went according to plan. Cortese is all about customer satisfaction. They truly want you to be happy. They went above and beyond my expectations.

Although I have already hired another company for this particular job, I am impressed with their responsiveness and am certainly more likely to try them again if we have another job to get done.I contacted them in May about a small job. They scheduled someone to come out in July to take measurements, now its nearly October and I havent even gotten the estimate. Needless to say I hired someone else.

I had Cortese Construction remodel my kitchen and it turned out phenomenal. Their custom cabinets are truly the best quality and I get compliments on them all the time. My kitchen reconstruction (down to the studs) was made easy by the co-ordination of each phase by Cortese Construction. Great care in workmanship was shown by the workman (Mike) assigned to my job and the result was very fine. My custom cabinets are a dream as are the corner lazy-susans. Philip Cortes, who oversaw the project, went out of his way to make the project move along smoothly and personally assisted me with an appliance size problem. I am very happy with the result and would recommend this company for any household reconstruction need.

After hiring Cortese for a large deck construction project they were happy to to take my deposit and collect progress payments. However upon problems with quality they have been slow to respond and i have had to consider litigation for finalization of the project. I would not recommend this company to friends in the future. Overpriced. Under performed.

I called for a quote on bathroom remodeling, they told me it would be a month before they could send someone out, June 28th they stopped by to look at my bathroom, called twice asking when I would receive quote, today is September 14th still no quote, thats terrible

My wife and I have been long time customers of the Cortese Construction family. We started listening to Domenic on WBEN over 20 years ago when we were do-it-yourselfers. As we have gotten older we have greatly taken advantage of their Handyman service, and just last year we had them update our master bathroom to make it handicap accessible for my wife. The final product was remarkable, their team came in and laid down plastic and taped off areas to keep the dust to minimum, they cleaned up daily and never left our house a mess. Their men and women were very respectful of our home and we loved having them. When the project wrapped up we were sad to see them go but loved the new bathroom they left us with. As always, highly recommend the team from Cortese!

What a transition! Our kitchen was over 45 years old. The only thing that changed through the years was the linoleum and paint. It is so nice to sit at our new breakfast island and take in our new kitchen. Although we signed in April and work didnt start until September, it was well worth the wait. It is also a credit to how popular/busy they are. We were told it would take 6 weeks. Technically, if you dont count the one-week wait for the countertops to come in, the job was finished in 5 weeks. The cost is what we expected and were quoted. Dominic wasnt afraid to provide his opinion as he designed the plan. Selecting the finishes was easy and convenient at their showroom. I liked that I didnt have to go to various suppliers to make selections. Both Mike and Mason were friendly, courteous and professional. We were very comfortable with them (and Josh when he came with deliveries/pick ups) being in our house - even when we werent there. The site was completely cleaned up each night before they went home. Either Mike or Mason would have a debrief with us each evening so that we knew what to expect the next day. They were a great partnership! Mike is a perfectionist and there was no punch list when he left on the last day. Hed ask how we wanted certain things done and wed always look to him for suggestions/guidance as the expert. We are so pleased and would hire Cortese Construction Services again. Thank you.

I found that working with Corteses project manager very disturbing. He is suppose to look in on jobs but did not until i asked him to come and go over bills that i was billed in three different places for wood used for the job.. The job they did was suppose to take 2 weeks and ended up being 7 weeks.. This was due to the flooring that was ordered came in with flaws in it. That could not be helped but it was still a long going project and so sad that this was not looked into at a reasonable time factor..
