Perfect little shop to get all your oriental cooking essentials, easy to get to. Frozen food, small but varying fruit and veg selection, really good for Chinese herbal soup-prepared soup mixes but also dried ingredients like ginseng etc. Wide range of instant noodles and other snacks. Staff are very friendly and helpful, lovely atmosphere. Parking is available but is on a first come first serve basis.

Just amazing, after years i decided before any lock downs to start looking into Asian food as its so tasty. I already knew about Oriental Mart in Nottingham but found the staff very unhelpful even though i was polite and trying to learn about the food and how to cook.Well, the things i can cook now are amazing thanks to Chung Wah and youtube such as School of Wok and Marions Kitchen to name two. Some of the oddest things Ive found in recipes they have which is great.The staff have always been so helpful in looking for what i want or what to do with things and always enthusiastic to help me. The pictures show a small amount of recipes i can make now as like Uncle Roger YT says im trying to be not as white and have food with culture history and flavour.Its changed my life i can actually cook great food now, and my family loves it too.Pictured are Asian BBQ beef short rib and pulled brisket in bao buns and a toastie, Thai drunken noodles, Malaysian char keow teow, hainanese chicken rice, char siu braised pork ribs and some ribs braised in a pack noodle sauce. Added Thai Moo Ping pork and Vietnamese caramelised ribs. Just added Prawn Tom Yum soup, this is a School of Wok recipe and amazing tastes. I used the shell on raw prawns from the freezer.You want properly tasty raw shelled king prawns (that in recipes are called shrimps)? These have it frozen, i always keep one bag in the freezer they are so tasty compared to the usual big brand supermarkets and are amazing in recipes and soups. Same goes for the massive garlics and ginger stems.So yeah, brilliant. You want Asian food? Go to Chung Wah and support them they will support you and in return you get a better fulfilled life with great food in it. We know Jamie Oliver doesnt have a wok well i do and i know how to do proper Chinese fried rice.Oh and they have been very careful in restricting numbers in the shop and keeping distances.

YES.Absolutely adore this place, but then who wouldnt, Asian food is superior in every way.

Superb Chinese supermarket ideal for my Thai wife to buy her groceries imported from Thailand including fresh produce. Shop is always fully stocked even through the pandemic. Ive known the family who run it for many years and they are extremely pleasant and accommodating. They have their own parking opposite the shop. Highly recommend for all your asian cuisine groceries.

Ive been buying from Chung Wah for my business for around a year. Im a bit of a novice when it comes to Asian food and just get given a list of things to buy, and the staff are very helpful with finding my items for me.Its a shame the shop is so small as it sometimes results in queues outside during peak times (due to COVID/social distancing), but this is no fault of their own. I buy as much as I can from these guys as I try to support local, independent businesses as much as possible. Cheers folks! 💚

Small Chinese supermarket in Derby but has everything you need including a small free car park just over the road. Chinese food Online prices are extortionate and other Chinese supermarkets are too far away so Chung Wah is my go to place. Well stocked, quality brands and a huge selection of products are always available. Theres also a small selection of fresh fresh vegetables and cakes. Behind the counter you can request wines and spirits and also order pan dam celebration cakes. The fridges have coconut, aloe Vera and other exotic canned drinks, fish balls, noodles etc. The chest freezers are packed with spring rolls, pancakes, seafood, meat, buns, wraps etc. You can also pick up woks, cutlery, chop sticks and other utensils. The staff are always happy to help and very friendly. Sometimes the card machine doesnt work so be prepared to pay by cash. Great place, highly recommend and Derby should be proud it has such a great Chinese supermarket.

Friendly, great choice. Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Thai and waaaay more than I can list! Great selection of cookware, bowls, utensils etc. Been coming here since I was a student and its still a solid favourite. Nicest people you could ever hope to meet.

I love Chung Wah so much - there are always plenty of ingredients from across East Asia; fresh, chilled, cupboard and frozen, and the staff are really helpful and often offer to carry my larger purchases to the car!

Can I just say...some people may be uneducated when it comes to food and appreciation for food and quality....but this Chinese supermarket....is my childhood dream ....but with spices etc. They are better value for money than supermarket also you wont get the odd strange request in Morrisons like you may there lol.... absolutely love this shop

I love this Chinese supermarket. Cheap sauces, rice, pastes, cooking equipment. Fresh, frozen, tinned /jarred foods. Soy is way cheaper than supermarkets. Worth a visit.

There is only one chinese store in the whole Derby, and there is no choice.

If you want far east foods, Chung Wah is really the only place of choice in Derby unless you want to travel miles to Birmingham. The staff are friendly and there is a good variety of average priced foods. There is also free parking for customers. We go there about once a month.

If u want spicy noodles...then go here..even my wife cdnt handle the full pkt..(tip) if u want medium or mild...add a lil of the add on spice at a time.Red packet onesYou get 20 (boxed) for £12 double the size of the regular small ones

Magical place with very friendly and welcoming staff. Very well organised. Ive been to Manchester branch as well and as Manchester was bigger was also somehow less spacious. Derby branch is way easier to move around. I love it especially for my ramen! Highly recommended!
