I’d like to start by saying I ordered a couch through big lots. We did not end up keeping the couch as it did not fit up apartment stairs. However, our experience here was so wonderful I had to share. The couch itself was beautiful. It was extremely comfortable, stylish, and priced very competitively. I wish we could have kept it as I really loved it. Next, the customer service was outstanding. They didn’t have the item in stock so they had to order it and after saying it could take 4 weeks, it actually arrived in 1. After bringing it home to try and place it in the space and realizing it wasn’t going to manauver the stairwell, we called the store and they told us we could bring it back in original buying condition and they would issue us a refund. Upon arrival back to the store (an hour after bringing it home) we were greeted by Leo who came right out with a cart for the couch and brought it inside for us. Leo and Tim helped issue us our refund and made a frustrating process extremely enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this store and the staff to anyone looking for competitively priced items, great quality, and great customer service!

Place is a little messy but the furniture is good quality for the price ( my 3rd piece).Hard to find employees sometimes but the ones you do find know what theyre doing.Also good selection and prices of food, toys,holiday and outdoor products

Really friendly staff! Very helpful! They have everything at good prices except no clothes. Smart! You can literally set up a whole house or apartment at this one stop! Beds, mattresses, couches and living room set with recliners, outdoor patio furniture and cushions, curtains, rods, bedding, towels, cleaning supplies, and even some food. Great easter baskets and some good holiday stuff. Also sine health and beauty stuff. Take away the clothes departments from the once popular Ames store and its very similar. I became a member to get points with every purchase and coupons to my email. It was free and I am going back to buy a livingroom set. They have them in stock and they have swatches of different colors they show you if you want to order a custom one from the swatches. Check this store out! Update: We ordered one custom and will take 3-4 weeks to come in. You pay in full first. We would have just taken the brown set but we wanted a lighter color.

Disappointed that the employees in the furniture area were not wearing masks at all (they were around their necks). Its a requirement to enter the store but yet the employees showed no respect for their customers safety. I wont be returning during the pandemic. The cashier was very pleasant and wore a mask, however.

Great place to buy food items, you have to look at exp. Dates though. They sell brand name drug store items at reduced prices. A quite a few times a year they have 20% off everything in the store weekends. A great time to stock up on things you need. They sell furniture, although I have not purchased any from them. Sell seasonal things too.

Purchased a new recliner at the store in Derby. My sales person Janet was great. Attentive, but kept her distance allowing my wife and I to render a decision on our own. I appreciate the no pressure approach in a store. Honestly can not stand it when sales people Hoover.The chair was pulled from stock and out front of the store in no time flat.We received help loading our purchase into our truck. And off we went. Thanks Janet.

I use to be able.to.go there and find may out door chairs etc but their shelves seem to be very bare as of lately.

Great prices, I picked up a patio rug and love it. Good selection of seasonal items. I also bought 2 club chairs recently so they have furniture to. Good quality and staff. Mike is so friendly and helpful.

Good place to stop for snacks to sneak into the movie theater. Cant beat paying less than five bucks for anything you need. Also a good place to come test out recliners. Dont stay in one too long though. Apparently its a faux pas.

This is a very good place for price minded people. There are a lot of alternative items compared to other stores that are much cheaper. Packaged items are almost always cheaper. Store layout is good as well.

You always find brand name products for less. And the inventory is always changing to fit the time of year. We easily saved $60+ on out last visit.

Its ok the prices on certain items can be lower. You can always find something you want there. Certain older cashiers could be more friendlier to the other cashiers though.

This place is a joke!!..bring your patients!!....they are in no hurry to take my money every time I go.No matter what day, or time I go, there is only one register open, be prepared to stand in line to pay for at least 15 minutes!!!...They make zero effort to take my money when I want to pay, so I will now make zero effort to return to give them my money!!!!...I will buy my household items elsewhere, where they are eager to take my money, and who can get me on my way faster.There is much need for improvement at the checkout registers at this establishment!!!!...

Basic groceries (no produce), some furniture (mostly outdoors) and overall utility goods. Ok place for a quick stop. Quality is on the lower end but not terrible

Only thing thats off here is the smell of the fridge section, inside it smells like a dirty diaper was lost in there. I wouldnt be caught dead buying anything from that section lol. Rest is great, really friendly staff and very helpful.

The majority of employees here are flippin fabulous people who seem to genuinely want to engage and make the shopping experience fun, or at least unsucky. Even most of the shoppers are cool and engage in a bit of small-talk or opinion-offering. This is my fave Big Lots store in CT, hands-down.

I love Big Lots, and stores like it. Theres a certain thrill to be had looking around these places. I rarely enter a big lots with a specific idea of what I want in mind. Usually you just wander around and marvel at the strange products they sell. Like non-alcoholic monster energy beer.That being said, this particular location is usually understaffed. Be ready to wait in line since there will likely be only 1 open register.

Great deals but need to watch sale items. Halloween goods marked full price but signage said 25% off and rang up full price. Was surprised management didnt know how to calculate percentages...
