Such a hidden gem! My friend and I visited this lovely chocolate shop and were greeted with a historical journey into Stam’s Fine European Chocolates. The staff were also very sweet and had great customer service skills- very attentive! We will be returning.

The best chocolate anywhere

Workers were very friendly. The one piece of chocolate I had was excellent. My husbands gelato was quite tasty also. I didnt see any butter toffee with chocolate on top which is a favorite of mine. Maybe theyll add it there were several varieties of chocolate and fudge.My hot chocolate and my husbands coffee were also good.I think it was definitely worth the stop. GPS may send you in a circle. I take my wrestlers there every for state wrestling and gelato.

It’s very unusual to find a candy shop like those found in Europe in the Midwest, but that’s just what it is! I stopped into select a few candies for my sweetheart. I prefer to choose rather than get the pre-boxed type. They have a lovely little patio for the warmer times & a nice, small sitting area when it’s not as nice. The coffee is wonderful, as well.

I love these chocolates. So much, I had to convince my boyfriend to go there and try some. He became a fan too! Both of us agree that these are THE BEST chocolates! I only wished they werent so pricey, but I cant really blame the hard workers there for that. Worth every visit regardless!

Lovely store with extremely knowledgeable staff. The handmade chocolates are beautiful to see and even better to eat. Huge selection from stem and stone cherry cordials to filled chocolates in milk, dark and white chocolate. Their homemade gelatos are creamy and delicious. This is a must when in Des Moines.

I was told I couldnt put a certain piece in a box as it was a different price. What? I chose a different piece. I paid and there was an option to tip. Really? The employee knew me so I felt obligated. Boo. For the price you should be able to get what you want.

Good family heirloom 🍫, nough said. There is a seating area to drink your tea and coffee by a grand 🎹 indoors. There is a small outdoor patio, which makes for a very cozy music venue performing in the summer months. You can go have a piece ofchocolate with your date, then go walk it off around Grays Lake.

Going to Chocolaterie Stam is always great! They have live music on Friday and Saturday nights in the late summer/early fall with great deals on wine and excellent homemade gelato (Italian style ice cream). The live music varies, but is usually good. It can be packed, but mostly its a low key location that offers great service and an awesome atmosphere!

Super friendly, easy to talk to, and quick service! However, it was pretty empty when I came in. Its a gorgeous place with a piano. The style is incredibly elligant!

Gelato is great and flavorful. Bonbons are too sweet. The chocolate skin is ok but the filling is like made of really bad and man made oil and is so greasy. Just a bite of filling makes me uncomfortable.

Incredible! Everything here is absolutely delicious and hand made. Their treats range from every kind of chocolate you can think of to gelato, espresso, chocolate covered candied orange peels, licorice, caramel, rum filled chocolate beans, you name it! The staff is knowledgeable and super helpful.My favorite part is their outdoor patio area. There is a small stage in the back where bands play weekly in the summer.

I especially love the Gelato and the unlimited samples they give out so youll be able to tell what you like in particular. Oooh the 🍋 cheesecake and blackberry cheesecake is my favorite so far. Im definitely stopping back in today for another guilty pleasure but a deliciously sweetie treat.

I have never had much of a sweet toothe, even as a child, but I tell ya what... This place is just fabulous! I love the entire concept as well...I never knew that receiving chocolates such as these, from an admirer nonetheless, all perfectly packaged and so pretty, could really be so awesome and fulfilling! Like i said, Ive never been huge on sweets but your chocolates really are phenomenal and its been the only time Ive ever noticed and felt the difference in eating them and the fact that chocolate really is an aphrodisiac! It not only created this great, uplifting mood but left you almost vibing out in la la Land cuz you just feel so good! Pretty powerful stuff youve got there, I love you guys!

So much care and technique goes into everything they do at Chocolaterie Stam. A few of my favorites are the white mice, dark chocolate marzipan creams, the liquorice allsorts, and of course the gelato.
