Love my local Ace hardware. The employees are always helpful and nice. I like that they recognize me when I come in, I feel like its my own personal hardware store. They stayed open for me an extra 25 minutes after closing while I picked out the exact paint I wanted and they mixed it up and it was perfect! They never complained or rushed me or treated me any different; and thats unusual in todays society. Love love them!

Its nice not to have to go to Walmart and have a employee that doesnt know anything about what their department is and its a and Ace hardware its a local owned and I recommend everybody go to the one and park for a mall and pet the kitty in the dog but dont feed the dog

Small store big help. Very helpful people who work there. Right from the moment you walk in. I was able to get the screws I needed. I was also there to ask about a specialty tool that they didnt have and dont carry and total time in store was like 5 minutes. That and this location is close to home.

Cant give 5 stars only because I miss Bill Wheeler(owner) and the good old days atmosphere at Highland Park Hardware. But life goes on and George(Ace owner) has worked hard to bring as much of the neighborhood hardware store feel that you could possibly get from a chain store. Hes in there working right along side of his employees.They have a good selection of hardware needs and an entire back room for really cool and unique home garden things, a lot of which are made by Highland Park friends and neighbors.Thanx George! I for one appreciate you and all your hard work.

Good place but i hate the fact that they follow me around even though i come all the time and pay in cash they still be creeping on me like im stealing something... like Im a paying customer go bother people that look suspicious... Its just bothering that i get stared at the whole time im there

Ace worker showed me how to glaze a window-he was polite, informative and just plain nice to be around, (found out a week later he was the owner).Ill pay a little extra all day long for this type of service.

When I was younger I was self-employed and did almost everything in a business in the basement of a business. Then when I was 21 I opened up my own business and then opened another one at 28 years old.Where I am from we had aParker Brothers Hardware which later added Ace Hardware to the family business. I went there often because of the amazing customer service and selection of products. I am disabled and I rarely get out unless it is a Medical Appointment riding in Medical Transportation but once a month someone drives me to Park Fair Mall and I am always able to find what I need at this Ace Hardware with the member of the staffs help. I usually use a Walker but on this one trip I try to walk without it. The only reason I can stand and walk is due to an Herbal Tea that I invented. They were real busy today but I still got the help I needed.

Recently moved from Colorado to Iowa and in the process lost all but one of the screws to an antique mirror/dresser. Ace Hardware was able to match up the screws exactly! Rented a shampoo machine, all the trimmings.. supposed to return it the day of the storm.. they were very accommodating letting me keep it an extra 12 hours AFTER their power returned, which was several days AFTER the storm! My power, luckily, was restored within 10 hours! Just GOOD, HONEST people!

Went there thinking I had to cap my gas line when I remove my stove . Staff were friendly, wearing masks, and cleaning what had been touched, my hat off to you Ace Hardware.Come to find out that since I do have a shut off valve, there was no need for a cap .

COVID warning: The employees do not wear masks here. This made me highly uncomfortable during a pandemic in a state where positive covid cases are booming. You would think during a pandemic they would try to keep the community and customers safe.

The only thing great about Park Fair Ace Hardware is the convenience. I expect that being a small store the selection will be limited and the prices higher. What Im always disappointed about is the way Im treated as a customer. The employees are not very friendly or helpful.

Nasty old woman was rude to me last time I was there. I figured everyone deserves a second chance. Went back today. No problem. Paid for my stuff with my DEBIT card. She turned the receipt towards me to sign.I told her no thanks, Im good and went to walk out. She yells at me SIR YOU NEED TO SIGN!!!! I said no, its ok. She yells at me again. I walked over and took her germ infested ink pen and drew a line on the ticket and walked out. I will NEVER enter that store again.

My husband and I have lived in this neighborhood for many years and we have never gone into this store and gotten anything but above and beyond service. Its like a small town hardware store. Not only do we get amazing service, but great conversation with staff and its so nice not to have to make the drive to one of the bigger stores where its often hard to find what youre looking for. Were so happy with our neighborhood ACE and all their super duper small town, down home employees!!!!

Staff offered up help with a little coaxing. Asked for recommendation as to which screw I should use to hang a heavy TV wall mount. I was advised to mount a 2x4 to the wall, attach my TV wall mount to the 2x4... Well the idea of a brace was well received, but I cant hang a 2x4 on my wall in good conscience. Maybe they could sell sleeveless band tees, 24 packs of bud, and a mullet grow kit too.

Checked on Google said they were open till 8, ran there really quick arrived at 7:05 the door was locked. I noticed the hours on the door said 7, must be winter hours. A nice lady opened the door and asked if I just needed something quick. I nodded and said just a few bolts, she walked me to them and helped me find what I needed and then rang me up. Kudos to them for opening the door for a small 5 dollar sale.

In and out in less than 10 minutes!! Guy was right at the door when I came in, showed me where I could find what I needed and boom, straight to the check out counter!! Very helpful

I walked in to Ace today after going on a walk with my wife and son. Everyone was very helpful to us and at one point we had multiple employees helping us. I spoke with a gentleman named George and he was very kind. I remembered I had bought some light bulbs there for my garage that ended up being the wrong ones. I told him I had the receipt but it had been a few months. He was kind enough to return them. I went home and got the bulbs and while there A lady had come in and told George she was doen on her luck and her boyfriend had stolen her money. She mentioned that she was trying to get some money to buy some cigarettes.She had these little bracelets that she was trying to sell for 2 dollars. he told her that he would buy one and went to the back to get some money. I do not know how much he gave her but I am sure it was way more than the 2 dollars she was asking for. Her reaction was complete surprise. And she thanked him continuously I was very impressed with his character and laughed when he said I hope she goes and gets something to eat rather than cigarettes. Way to go George! you have definitely gained a customer for life out of me! .

I like this store a lot and will keep shopping here for years to come.

Though smaller than the big hardware stores like Menards or Lowes, Ace packs in much more supply than expected. Their specialization also means that they carry some things you cant find at larger stores as well.Employees here are very helpful, willing to assist if youre having trouble finding something, or suggest solutions to help with projects if you need.

From the first day this joint opened until ten minutes ago my impression of the associates at this store is, smart-aleck dummies.Weve had a lot of rain and Im in the market for a submersible sump pump. Every other store I visited today was sold out of sump pump so I didnt think the Park Fair Ace would have any but I thought Id ask anyway. However I dont like my inquiry answered with Haw! Haw!Ill never go back!!!

Theres not much for hardware stores on the north side, but this store carries a lot of products. Even a little lumber if needed.

Excellent selection of hardware item and tools. Customer service is FANTASTIC.

It was a nightmare nobody wears masks but me and if theres any place where the clientele looks like you could catch something thats the place.

This store is a bit pricey but they have everything you need for home repairs. The tools are of good quality so if you can afford it go for it!

Good selection, but theres two main problems with this place. First they have pretty high prices compared to most hardware stores, but the bigger problem for me is the staff is so paranoid about Seft they wont let you just look around the store you will be harassed.

Very friendly and helpful staff makes you feel at home and more than makes up for the occasionally limited selection.

Everything is way over priced 22cents for 1 single 5/16 self tapping screw do yourself a favor and go to lowes
