Its a little cramped but boy do they keep a big stock. Great specials including many of the highest quality booze and they have a great selection of the really good stuff! Really fair pricing on everything.

My wife was able to find the rum she wanted and other things here, after searching everywhere else. Parking lot a bit cramped for such a busy place but we had no problems and discovered as we left that there is parking behind it too, for future visits.

Like non other, this place is always the cheapest I may have ever seen in town. Items are mostly about 25% cheaper then the rest of similar stores... But remember, no mask, no service, is at the door, waiting for you...

Unless you get a ridiculous Hy-Vee, twice a year SUPER SALE, the prices at Central City cant be beat. Liquor selection is pretty great and they do special orders! Their whiskey selection is TOP NOTCH. Follow them on Facebook for a chance to get some VERY limited-release bourbons.

Very friendly staff! Found everything I needed but found one of the same bottles at Hy-Vee for $3 less. That was the only disappointing thing. However it rarely happens to find a bottle cheaper at Hy-Vee than at Central City Liquors!

Ive only been there once. Central City Liquors is not so centrally located if you live on the Southside. But hey, this place is truly an experience if youre in the market for liquor...or even if you arent. They have it all, as in everything. Youd be hard put to suggest a label that they dont carry, including some of the more expensive and uncommon brands. You really should check this place out.

This is one of the two liquor stores in Iowa that I frequent. Their whiskey selection is the best in Iowa, a wonderful biters area and they have a good selections of other spirits and beer too. You get special discount for buying 3 or more bottles at a time and paying in cash. I dont make it too DSM much anymore, but this always one of my stops.

Husband raves about this place to everyone. We live 2 hours away and this was my first stop in on our day trip to Des Moines for our anniversary. Very impressive and rather large selection of liquors! Staff is friendly and helpful as well. Will be back next time we make the trek for sure!!

Amazed by the selection these guys have. The scotch choices are one of the best in town. Even better too, the workers can help direct you to the flavor you are looking for. Not much to look at from the outside but once you are in the store has quite a bit of character. A nice place to stop by after getting a nice bowl of Pho across the street.

Best selection in town. Dont bother going anywhere else. Have gotten bottles there that I was unable to getanywhere else in Des Moines. Somewhat of a shady looking place but easily the place to go if you want anything else other than Jack Daniels and PBR.

Central City Liquor has an incredible selection and a very knowable staff. Rarely do I ever come out with what I intended to buy because the staff steers me to sometime better or a better value. Bring your cash and they will give you a discount.

I like this store, but the guy at the register wasnt wearing a mask even though were seeing 4-5k cases of COVID a day. Come on. Thats just irresponsible at this point. And they even have a sign on the door asking everyone to wear one.

I dont know of any liquors stores in Des Moines area that have the selection that Central City have.
