My husband called yesterday to schedule an alignment for his mini van for today at 8am. Everything was confirmed, the guy confirmed everything and he said we’re programmed for 8am. We call this morning and next thing we know we’re put down for 10am like what? Seriously? My husband was telling the person that something isn’t right because he specifically talked to the same guy yesterday and we were put down for 8am. We asked to talk to the manager and he said that he’s supposedly the “ manager “. Worst customer experience ever. He hung up the one the second time we called like okay f u! Disrespectful as h*ell and so rude. No wonder this place be having 3.8 stars.

Mario and crew were so quick to get my tire ordered and replaced so I could get on with the holiday weekend. Highly recommend them: efficient and excellent customer service!

I had nail in my tire, l was in this place one guy said we can’t fixed u have to buy new tire. I understand sometimes they can’t to repair but it not this time. I worked in tire shop 3 years and l know when they can fix or not, l tried to repair, l have set to do this but l didn’t have to much power to put plug inside. I’m a girl 👧 l was in Des Plaines Auto Clinic 480 S River Rd and they fixed in 10min for 15$. This is good service.

They squeezed me in at the end of the day to replace a headlight bulb. So now they are my go to tire and alignment place. Great staff! Thank you very much.

Seriously we had a blowout on the road. We drove up on a low spare, they were able to get us taking care of quickly with two new tires, even put air in our spare which was very low and put the spare tire and the toolkit, luggage, etc everything back into the trunk of the SUV where it belonged in less than an hour and a half. They knew that we were traveling and did everything that they could do you make sure the rest of the car was secure because the tire that blew had damaged it the front end. I highly recommend this person. There were also several elderly people that were in and out while we were there and you could just tell her I felt comfortable shopping there like no one was going to pressure sell them so it must be a community favorite.

Horrible experience. Called and came in to get a tired repair. Damage was in the thread. They insisted in selling me a new tire. Went somewhere else and got it fixed. What disturbed me the most was their unwillingness not to help after I waited an hour and a half.

I made an appointment and they took my nail out of car, charged me only $35, very happy they were able to patch my tire, clean waiting area and Mario was very professional. Definitely recommend.

Took my car in at 10:20am by 10:40am manager mario kllogjeri calls me says my car is ready but I also need new tires. I bought tires a year and a half ago with only 4k miles on those tires. I took my car in for alignment. Drove it for few days still having the same issue. Went into the store again and spoke to mario and he says he cant fix the alignment because I need tires. Then asked for refund he said he cant do it for me. Im not a rookie when it comes to a car or anything. This manager just wanted to make sale and extra commission and god knows how many customer he has ripped off by telling them things about their car which they dont need. Been firestone customer for over 10 years. They lost me cause of this manager.

Terrible service!!! Went here had 4 brand new tires mounted and a wheel alignment. Picked up the vehicle noticed wheel was shaking at about 30mph took it back to them. Mechanic took it for a test ride came back stated it was my rear suspension. Now I’m pretty car savvy and knew it couldn’t have been my suspension. Long story short turned out they didn’t mount the tire on right and also gave me and alignment for a different type on suspension that wasn’t on the car took it to another firestone and they did the alignment with the right suspension.

I been waiting for long time the guy told me that the job take abou hour and half but it take more than 2 hours, the have higt prices!

We only use Interstate batteries since I used to be a rep there. This location sells the brand. We needed a new battery, called ahead with the model, and was informed it is in stock. We arrive and Brandon, at the front desk, was super helpful. He properly tested the battery (which sadly not a lot of places that offer free testing know how to do). We were in and out under an hour with no appt. They were busy, but easily accomodated us. Prices were fair too.

Never again. Fell for the bait and switch. Sorry to say, but Ive never had a good experience with a Firestone shop.

Absolute con job! Took my car for an oil change only to have my engine bone dry days later since they forgot my drain plug gasket. I take it back to them and after an inspection they want me to hand them $600 because my “valve gaskets are bad and need to be replaced.” I refuse and go pick up my car. Before I go home, I pop my hood to check the oil and my engine cover is missing. I bring it to their attention and they have 3 out of the 4 screws to put the cover back on and tell me that’s how I brought it to them. Really? They pay no attention to detail and take advantage of those who don’t know any better. First and only time I use FireStone. Beware, your $30 oil change can turn into a $600 repair..... I had my car inspected after the fact at a different location and turns out my valve gaskets are not an issue. Why did they offer to replace parts that didn’t need to be replaced? Sketchiest place ever! Definitely avoid.

Great Service, I usually go there for tires and batteries.I took my Nephews car there the day before the coldest day of 2019. They were able to replace the car battery in under an hour. They were extremely busy at the time, but as in the past were pleasant and professional.They even had a phone charging station with 4 different connection types in their waiting area.

Had a radiator flush done. Heat then only worked while at idle. Took it back in for service was advised that it would be $70 to inspect heating components. I gave the ok to have it looked at and fixed since it could only be the water pump or thermostat. They call me back the following stating that I have a hole in the exhaust that is causing not enough back pressure and in turn not allowing the engine to generate heat. I needed to replace the pipe from the converter back at a cost of $2,250.94 I was shocked since I have never heard of the exhaust having any effect on the heat. I told the technician of this and repeated it. They were 100% positive that the exhaust was the problem. I was besides words and I told the technician to have the thermostat replaced and I would take it from there. In the mean time I had also called the dealer from the car make and explained them what I was told .... they laughed and stated that the exhaust has nothing to do with the heat. They said I could cut the exhaust out of the car and I would still have heat. Firestone called to let me know the work was done. We picked up the car and we were told that the problem of no heat is still there and that is was not resolved. Probably to make a point because I requested the thermostat to be replaced.I have been driving the car now for 3 days and the heat works perfect, it works like it should.If I was anyone else that might have been preoccupied with something, not as knowledgeable, or just not familiar with cars, I would have paid $2300 to have the exhaust fixed and still have the problem. Maybe I should apply there as a mechanic and get fix cars or at least I know how to fix the heat.Needless to say I will not be going to this place again.

Jose the mechanic is amazing! He always goes above and beyond. Every question that I ask he is always willing to answer. He is very knowledgeable and has a passion on what he does. I’ve been going to firestone for years and will continue my services with them. Staff is always friendly and willing to help.

Great experience!. I brought my car in for a suspected leak in my tire. They checked out all my tires for free and treated me the same as if I was paying for it. I would definitely trust them with my car in the future.

I travel to this Firestone location from Chicago because I always get good, honest, and professional service.Today I took my vehicle in to have several jobs done, including serpentine belt replacement, 2 new tires with rear alignment, and an oil change. As usual, they were completed in a satisfactory time and at a very reasonable price. In addition, several diagnostic tests were carried out at no charge!The customer service from Mario and his staff are always very friendly and professional.....and the coffee is good!! I highly recommend their service.

The guys at this location are awesome. They were able to squeeze us in and take care of us in a timely manner. Top notch and honest too.

This specific location seems to have a very hospitable staff with knowledge a basic car mechanics. Shout out to Manny who is an excellent customer service person. He will help you the best he can.

I used to go to the Skokie location for convenience but due to there lack of customer service skills and knowledge I started coming here. Manny the service advisor is very professional and always goes above and beyond. I don’t mind driving the extra 25 minutes for better customer service.

So polite and took care of us right before they were about to close! We had three other places deny us an oil change because it was too close to 7:00 (closing time). But not Firestone:)

Made an appointment, showed up early, waited 20-30 minutes past my appointment time until they even started to move my car. Not worth it.

I am not going to completely write them off yet but it feels like that service is going down hill from previous management.On Monday 7/8/2019 I called for some tires. Was told that they werent in stock and I asked them about the rebate of $100 and they said the tires were eligible. However the tires wouldnt be in until Wednesday. Fine, I can live with that. So today comes and I am bringing my truck in to get the tires installed. I was told the time frame was about an hour and half to two hours. After an hour and half I called to see what the status was of my vehicle. Another hour or so. Alright not a big deal. After the hour was up I walked to the shop to see my car standing outside. I hope they just forgot to call me and inform that it was ready for pickup.Now the payment comes. $1079 or something close to that. I asked what the price was between what I got quoted and why this is being charged. Well it includes our tires road hazard warranty. Flag one, NEVER add a service fee without informing your customers about it! That is what car rental places do and should not happen from a auto care place.I asked about the mail-in rebate and the front worker looks confused at me, grabs some papers from under his computer screen and informs me that the rebate was expired. This honestly upset me because that was part of the reason I went to get the tires at Firestone. Flag #2, not knowing there was a rebate and not being properly informed by their corporate office.After I asked the front person what was going on he kindly adjusted the bill to reflect the difference and that I declined the Hazard Warranty.The truth to be told, I had very good experiences with this place in the past. But these days, it seems like they just dont care anymore. Ill give them one more shot and hope the service will be improved.

If I had a -60 I will give to this place !!!! Took my work truck in i had a nail in a tire it cost me 6.5 hours of down time the manager tells me I will call you in 2 hours never happen I had to call 6 .5 hours later fire stone answer was oh my tech just. Got to it and the answer I got on yeah we cant fix it I had to take to Just Tires which is 1 min away awesome guys there not like Firestone the guys there in 2 mins of arrival told me yes it cant be fix wild Firestone took 6.5 hours to figure that out and it wasnt like if they where busy just a terrible timing they have maybe if they had better management and better techs that actually know what they doing it will be a different story

Ive been a Firestone customer since 2008. In the past five years Ive bought probably 22 sets of tires for all of my cars, including snow tires and autocross tires and all seasons. Firestone is generally great - this location is utterly awful. Its run by a tyrant named Mario who doesnt let you finish sentences and then cuts the legs out from under his subordinate Jerry. Poor Jerry. Mario says its a safety issue to disconnect a rear sway bar link from a rear wheel drive sports car for winter driving. He must have a lot of experience - or hes just the boss of the Firestone on Lee Street! The heavens literally tremble in contemplation of his power and wisdom.

Once in a while I feel compelled to write a review when service exceeds my expectations. Its very nice to see a car shop managed by a car guy--Niko is a nice guy who likes what he does. Who would have known?! My somewhat unusual request involving intricate mounting and balancing of a performance winter tire and wheel setup was met with a true no problem, can-do attitude. This is a welcome and refreshing change form the blank stares Ive gotten at other shops in the past. Best of all, the work was completed in a quick and cost-effective manner. I know where they could have overcharged, and they certainly did not--an honest move. Thanks so much to the Des Plaines Firestone team!

Always trying to sell you things you didnt come here for. Twice now I came to fix a flat tire and they tried to sell me new tire. I end up going to a real tire shop to fix it for $20. Other Firestone shops are great but this one is just wow.

This place is TERRIBLE! Total rip off! I had a slow leak in my tire, every four or five days I would put some air in it and it would be fine. After a couple of weeks of this, I took it in to them to see if it could be patched. They said no, too much damage on the inside of the tire because it had been driven on while it was completely flat, (I never let the tire get completely flat). They said the cheapest tire they had was $116.00. (which confuses me because the sheet they gave me with the estimated repairs, tax and labor included was $87.00). I told them to just put the spare tire on for now. They told me my car didnt have a spare tire. They put the old tire back on for me and wished me luck. Didnt even make it a mile before it was flat. With the help of some fix-a-flat, I was able to get it over to Walmart. They said the tire was fine and could be repaired for $30, or they could get me a new tire for $58. I went with them. Also, just out of curiosity, I looked in the trunk of my car under the mat, and there was a perfectly brand new spare tire. Are these guys on drugs or just flat out thieves? Im going with the latter. Do NOT do business with these con artist!!!

Bring back the old crew or the old management. I’ve been coming here for years and was always satisfied. Now, when I come here all they care about is getting me to spend more money. Don’t tell me I need new tires.....when I recently bought tires....here!!! Check your records before you try to rip people off. I will be taking my loyal business elsewhere! Somewhere that is about service not sales! Shame on you guys! I’ve lived in Des Plaines 23 years and know a lot of people in the area. I will be spreading the word as to how corrupt this place has become!

Got tires here a few weeks back. It wasn’t the worst experience.

Set up appointments for my car and my Moms car on two different days. When I brought my tires in at they appointed 8:00 AM and asked about when it would be ready, they said around noon, at 1:30 I had not heard anything from them, so I called, they said it would be done in 20 min. When I got there 20 min later, they were still working. When they were done I took them home and installed the tires on my car. I brought my Moms car in at the appointed 7:00 AM, they insisted it needed a TPMS package, which I know it didnt need, it nearly took an argument to convince them. I asked how long it would take, they said about an hour so I waited in the waiting room. One of the guys was on his phone the entire time, after an hour and a half, I asked how much longer. I got the same 20 more min. Of course it took them 30 min, being fed up with the people and the place, I left. When I got home, I noticed scratches in the middle of a few spokes, so it would be impossible for it to be curb rash and this is the first time we had the tires changed on this car. Swapping tires does not take a long time, I think they didnt start working until I asked them how much longer. On top of all that, when both the cars were driven on the highway, there was a very violent vibration through the car. They hadnt balanced the tires, which we paid them to do. We ended up bringing both cars to a family owned place in St. Louis (we were traveling for the holidays) to have the tires balanced. The technician told us they were completely unbalanced when we came to pick them up, on our return trip, both cars were nice and smooth. Overall, both experiences were awful and I would recommend tire rack remove them from their recommended installer list until they get their act together.

Firestone is Firestone. But I want to to Firestone anymore. I own a BMW and trusted them to do an oil change. Put it this way. I still ended up going to BMW to redo my oil change. They ended up breaking the sensor in my oil filter and didnt tell me. And they put one of there off brand filters in there. Nothing but problems. So I went to BMW Bill Jacob in Naperville👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Best place ever...... They told me what they did and fixed it. The funny part was firestone oil change was more expensive then BMW. So weird.... All Im saying is Firestone is not were you want to take your BMW for any thing.

When you schedule an appointment, work is completed in a timely manner. Waiting area is small, but store is surrounded by many plaza.

Payed for an inspection but didnt get any information on the maintenance of my car. Waste of money. Claimed transmission makes noise and is source of my problem. I brought it in for a wheel bearing repair, and I did not bring up my transmission at all before I left the car there. Transmission works fine!Bottom line, Ill be taking my car elsewhere.

Terrible service. Finally had time to do brakes on my sisters car. Found 4 lug nuts cross threaded and could not remove them. Waisted my time getting them to even cover labor. Should have had it towed to another shop and paid full price, rather than give them the parts sale.

For years this has been our go to place for fast, high quality and wallet-friendly service.

Came in for an alignment on my 95 Jetta and specifically mentioned the fact that VW factory service manual says to ONLY adjust the right tie rod. The manager dismissed my comment and said Well do whatever the manufacturer recommends. As Im watching them do the work, they adjust the left (which is supposed to stay a certain exact length per VW factory service manual). I work on my own cars, I brought a picture of the manual, and he dismissed me and screwed up the job. Avoid these guys, plenty of much better mechanics out there. Or just courteous people who will at least listen to you.

Cant even remove tires from the wheels i brought them. Never heard of a tire shop that couldnt do that. Deffinantly a cut rate place that doesnt have qualified techs.

I went in there today without an Appt for an oil change let me just tell you that jiffy lube and do it under 15mins and they lost a paying customer because they turned me anyway because I didnt have an appt and its was an hour wait really!!! You will be closing your doors real soon buddy

One time they broke my filter after they did oil change, and didnt let me know about that.And also I did safety inspection there,and I waited like 2 hours, but my car was ready long time ago. I made an appointment for tires replacement in two days, and when I came in, they just told me that my tires, which were ordered, was sold by some one else. Not cool, guys, not cool at all, you lost a client.

The people working there have no respect, will notify corporate. Maybe all of them need customer service classes or an a$$ wopppp...

I made an appointment for 3:00 on April 26, 2018 for an oil change. Initially, I was not happy with the customer service. But, Mario, the store manager, intervened and made up for the poor service.
