Adorable family-owned bakery with delicious food! We got the turkey panini, sweet cheese bun, apple tart, toast with almonds and raspberry jam, and a chocolate croissant. All of them were incredible. We’re heading back shortly to get a sourdough.The pesto on the turkey panini was in the top three best I’ve ever had. Wow. Felt like I stepped in Paris.

Great little bakery with good savory pastry options which is hard to find sometimes at other bakeries. love that they make their own bread and sell loaves like an old world European bakery. Pretty good sandwiches as well. The only downside is they open at 8 am. Selfishly, I wish they opened earlier and on Mondays bc I am usually in the area earlier.

The hazelnut mousse cake is beyond amazing! Not too sweet and very light. They accepted my order despite being super busy around Thanksgiving for which Ill be forever grateful. This bakery will be my new birthday cake destination spot.

Delicious polish bakery! They have gluten free cookie options which was perfect for me since I am gluten free. I had the banana coconut cookies and chocolate raspberry. They were phenomenal. My boyfriend tried the rose donut, which was so unique and delicious. We both got drinks as well! He got a pumpkin latte which he really enjoyed and I tried the raspberry chai tea latte. The chai tea latte was amazing. I highly recommend this bakery. We just stopped during a road trip, and we are so happy we did.

5 star customer service and breads. I often call ahead on weekends to pre-order bread because it sells out very quickly. The family running this business is kind and makes you feel part of the family. The savory Feta and Spinach scone is my favorite and the Sourdough bread is a staple in my house. I highly recommend this cute family-run bakery.

The hubby and I love coming here for breakfast and splitting a bunch of stuff. Breakfast sandwiches on their freshly made bread are so tasty. Definitely try the breakfast pizza if they have it. Full coffee bar, too.

Today was our first trip to Amazing Breads and Cakes. We enjoyed both savory and sweet breakfast items, along with Americano Coffee. Very pleased with our various choices. On future trips, we will try more items. Overall, we like the menu, the use of organic flour, the courteous service, and the reasonable prices. Will patronize frequently!

OMG this is the BEST bakery. Everything we tasted there tasted homemade. Wow. And the service was very friendly. Maybe it is good that they are located far from downtown Chicago were we live - otherwise I would be tempted to come in every day! :)

Been here couple times in the past year. My first experience was just grabbing some breakfast, which I had the Spinach and Tomato Souffle -so good I had 2. Then brought some sour dough bread and some bread crumbs for baking home -wife demanded I get more. 2nd time in, I brought my kids and grabbed some Paczkis and of course, more bread crumbs and while I meant to grab more of the Sourdough bread(because it was on point), I unfortunately lost to others that bought it up right in front of me. I was steered into Country bread as they mentioned it had sourdough strains in it and I have to say I wasnt let down at all. The Country Bread was soooooo good too. Now i have to try the Rosemary and Parmesan version or maybe the Rye, IDK. All I can say is that everything is wonderful here from the staff, to the food and it is especially nice to see the old timey family shop doing good things in the area. Cant wait to see what I get next round. FYI: They have gluten free and options for Vegans and everything is fresh. I highly recommend!

More stars!! An almost disaster turned AMAZING. THEY LIVED UP TO THER NAME. I ordered a birthday cake for a celebration with family on our visit to the area. Ursula was so helpful as the order was placed over the phone. When we stopped in to the bakery to pick up the cake everything looked and smelled wonderful.Ursula greeted us and upon checking on the cake it didnt seem to be found. Turned out the cake had not been decorated and with a few hours left she offered to deliver it and offered my son a complimentary latte. The cake arrived a few hours later.The cake is one of the best weve ever had. Chocolate cake filled with chocolate cream and fresh raspberries perfectly balanced sweet and tart.We will be frequent visitors during the rest of our stay.Thank you to the entire staff

Great sandwiches at lunch. The baked goods are pretty stellar but that sourdough bread is where its at. They also make a good latte. One if our favorite finds since moving here.

Lots of options and very friendly! We like to go for a walk to grab a loaf of fresh baked bread (Parmesan or sourdough loaf are favorites) and lots of goodies for the kids (and a few for mom and dad too!). Also great for a hot latte for our walk back home on a chilly day. Highly recommend this local small business in Des Plaines!

Best breads and sweets in town.

Went there yesterday and I was so amazed at the huge selection of baked pastries they had! It was so hard to choose because they all looked appetizing and beyond delicious. Not shocked and makes sense that they have crowds of customers coming in. Even more heartwarming was the people working there, they were really sweet ringing me up and would try to find us room to sit even though they were just as busy that day. There was an incredibly kind, elderly man who went out of his way to clean the table and grab us a sofa seat, so one of us didn’t have to sit on a stool. Yes, this place indeed has amazing food, but amazing people as well! Will definitely be coming back and bringing back more friends!

As the name implies, its truly the most amazing bread and cakes! Their desserts are so good and theres always such a good variety. You can buy fresh loafs of bread, their paninis and food are great. Theirs are some of the best Ive ever had! I specifically love their raspberry chai tea latte. Love that they opened up so close to home!

Amazing is the perfect way to describe this bakery and cafe! They serve legit coffee, that will lift you up out of any funk, and their treats are always delicious, freshly made, and fairly priced. The cozy and quaint ambiance and family-owned feel makes this Cafe a wonderful place to pick up and go or sit and relax.

Really enjoyed my experience here. Stopped over for coffee after the morning rush and was able to sit and enjoy my breakfast with my fiancee. Very relaxed place. Staff was very sweet. Everything I tried was great, and even bought a couple treats to take home.

These two sisters make the most delicious baked good I’ve ever tasted! Their pies are soooo good and everyone of their pastries is wonderfully delicious. Actually words fail to describe how good they are. Hats off and congratulations to Grace and Ursula, the owners and bakers!

My wife is a fabulous baker, and excels at birthday cakes for me and our sons. So when its her birthday-what to do? Well, I decided to give this bakery a try.I ordered a 6 dia. cake, 3 layer chocolate baked with almond flour, raspberry whipped cream filling, and vanilla whipped cream frosting. It came decorated with Happy Birthday Lxxx in chocolate and a blueberry & strawberry garnish in one corner.What a GREAT cake! My wife was thoroughly surprised and delighted how it tastes! I especially liked that it was not overly sweet as sometimes happens with commercial cakes. HIGHLY recommended!

My family and I have been regular customers since the day they opened! I can’t speak any more highly about their breads and bakery items. But this review is about cake...My mom ordered a chocolate hazelnut mouse cake for my birthday and I now have a cake that I will require at my birthday till the end of time. Normally I dislike chocolate cakes because they are so sweet that you take 2 bites and you’re done. Not this cake! Everyone finished their plates and were amazed how light, fluffy and flavorful it was and wanted seconds! Truly, this was one of the most scrumptious cakes I’ve ever had in my life.Thank you for creating amazing desserts that people enjoy and want to eat and not feel like they’ve eaten a block of sugar. I will recommend this cake to anyone!

They are so wonderful and make amazing sweets!No need to make sour dough while this place is in business. They use all organic flour in their baking and sell fresh milled flour so you can try to bake your own bread too.Get an almond croissant too! And grab a great loaf of bread too!Worth the trip as they aren’t big city prices but a quick ride in a car!Update hours areTuesday-Friday 8-4Saturday 8-2:30Closed and MondayYou can go inside and pick out what you want, must wear a mask and keep 6’ distance.My suggestion is to call and place and order for bread before it runs out if you’re coming in closer to closing time.

A monument in Des Plaines. This place is a fixture for downtown and will be for many years to come. Hopefully when downtown starts to grow, it too will be a big piece of the city. Theyve got an amazing selection of breads and pastries, and the prices are pretty damn good. We always try and make it a habit to walk down here once a month for a cup of coffee and a little snack. Check it out and make it a part of your routine.

Such an adorable place! Small local family business. Their sourdough breads are amazing, maybe a little on the expensive side ($5 a loaf ) but they use all organic flour and make it in a healthy traditional way, so it’s way worth it! All the sweets and “zapiekanki “ are delicious too. The ambiance is very cute. too bad I discovered that place around covid time, so no people can eat inside; I saw they have a cute corner with chairs and I think fire place or something like that.. idk, bottom line I recommend it!

I don’t know if there was a communication barrier but it was annoying. The almond croissant was good. Not sure why a bakery would the open on a Sunday? And during the week they open at 8am? With the Metra down the street they should be open at least at 5am. Missing out on business.

It’s great to see real “fresh” baking taking place. Nothing is shipped in and reheated like larger chains. At a fair price I’d rather make the extra effort to come here than other coffee places for a sweet treat or a hot beverage.

Mmmm.. this place is amazing. Everything we’ve tried here with my wife has been delicious (oh, and the aroma of freshly baked bread...). It is too bad they are not open on Sundays, but if you are passing by during the week, stop in and try it out for yourself.

Everything is Excellent, BUT - Owners, if youre reading this, can you please please please consider expanded hours? Most of the morning commuters for downtown get on the 6:54 or 7:11 express trains from Des Plaines and would LOVE to stop by. Unfortunately, opening at 8, you are missing out on all of the commuters and we are missing out on great food and coffee. Would love to come by more if you were open earlier!

Great bakery and the owners of the bakery are lovely too! My favorite are the macarons and matcha latte with almond milk. Yum!

Wonderful environment. Peaceful music. The menu is very easy to read. And the pastries are laid out in a beautiful presentation. I myself bought a peach infused crossiant and a vanilla latte. On vacation I was following my GPS to Panera when I passed ABC I decided to give them a try. LOVE LOVE LOVED! It the atmosphere, the food was wonderful. A quaint, lovely, little spot for coffee and a bite to eat

Lordy! I am NOT a sweets eater. But this place has amazing treats in the Polish tradition of not overly sweet. Their scones are to die for. Tortes are awesome and then some. Bread is over the top. Very nice place to get a cuppa joe too. So glad we have this gem in Des Plaines.

What a gem of a bakery. I got a selection of savory and sweet treats, and everything was delicious. The flour is organic and milled locally to order. All ingredients are top notch, and compared to similar shops in Chicago, the prices are very competitive. Super friendly staff, too. Will definitely visit again of Im ever in Des Plaines.

Today was my first visit to this bakery. I discovered it as I was walking back to my car from lunch at a place a few doors down. Everything looked really good and I wanted to try it all!I did try the Napoleons and the Macaroons. Both were really good. The Napoleons werent too sweet and the pastry cream was a nice texture. My coworker said the Macaroons were the best he ever had. I also, decided to try a White Mocha. It was amazing, better than Starbucks. It also wasnt too sweet so I wasnt overwhelmed by the sugary taste like at Starbucks, I actually tasted the good coffee. I did see Torani syrups on the counter and that is what prompted me to try the coffee. Theyre one of the best tasting syrups out there.I saw they had bread on the wall, $5 for a small regular sized loaf and $10 for the large loaf which is huge. I plan on buying one next time to bring home, along with a few other treats.I recommend trying the coffee and a few treats if you are ever driving by.

Lunch selections offer soups and variety of sandwiches. Bread is indeed amazing! The favorites are whole wheat, olive bread and baguette. For someone who has a sweet tooth, there is plenty of desserts and coffees. Everything is made from scratch and organic ingredients. So happy to have such a gem in Des Plaines!

A Polish family owned bakery with a large variety of products, all that we have tried have been excellent. Our favorites include the sourdough bread, harvest bread, small cookie variety boxes, berry paczki, and pierogies. Very kind women working behind the counter who take pride in their bakery.

They change the cookies and pastries every week. My husband and I tried their breakfast pizza, which is delicious! Also, they have a variety of pastries. What I love is that they are not execively sweet, you can really taste the flavor if the fruits. Very professional and very clean!
