Great place to buy tackle when I come to Destin Florida on my vacations I have come here to times to get my fishing equipment. People inside or courteous helpful kind. Ask any question you want they will answer it for you. I am from Texas to dont know much about deep sea fishing and they got me all lined out so Im able to catch some fish tomorrow

I would 100% go back! Brian and John went out of their way and spent more time than they needed to explaining stuff and making sure I had all the knowledge I needed before purchasing anything. It is worth your time and your money to go give your business to the shop.

Went in to check out one of the new Hobie Kayaks and possible pick up some reels. Staff was offered poor service. They never asked me if I needed any help or offered to answer any questions. I even tried to engage with one of the employees about the size penn reels I was interested in, but he couldn’t be bothered to actually come over to the counter where they kept the reels. Another employee was just wandering around,

I swear this place has the best customer service around. I went in because my son broke his Rod tip and they put a new tip for seven bucks. I was also able to buy a fishing license. John helped us and we will definitely be back for all of our tackle needs.

Went here on the recommendation of a neighbor when we moved to the area. Bought my first rod, reel, and tackle here and the staff were excellent at helping me find the right gear. They actually talked me out of more expensive gear I thought I needed in favor of a more affordable starting setup. When I started to get more settled in they helped me pick out some great new equipment as well and were more than happy to talk me through the dizzying array of rods to find what I needed. Great selection of line and terminal tackle organized by target species. Prices are in line with most other stores. Happy to give them all my fishing business and highly recommend!

Well stocked, folks there know Destin and Gulf fishing. Very pricey but you can find most any tackle you need to get on the water and catch fish

This Half-Hitch store has an adequate selection of inshore and offshore tackle. A little limited on the rod and reel selection for inshore fishing as it is tailored mostly in favor for offshore boat fishing.The prices are fair and even offer a military discount on a majority of the items. Fair prices for the area and even beats out Bass pro shops in variety of terminal tackle and surf rods. Maybe a better stock of usable inshore tackle would benefit this store as they are always selling live shrimp to many people.If you need to get rigged up for fishing in the area, then this is the place to hit up first before heading out on the water!

Ive been going to half hitch for as long as I can remember, mostly for tackle and frozen bait. This time I ended up buying my son a fishing pole and reel combo. The guys there were super knowledgeable and very friendly and helpful. they spooled the line for me and had me set up and ready to go before I walked out the door. I appreciate their help and will be going back the next time I need to buy something.

Their website will tell you one thing,yet you go to either of the stores and the product description does not match the product itself. Wasted my time driving to 2 of their locations today,just to be disappointed twice. Overall the stores are great,and the staff are helpful,and knowledgeable. Maybe once their online descriptions match the in store products,and isnt misleading, Ill stop by again.

I started coming here a year ago...used to be great..great service from John the tall big gentleman that works there. Dont expect to get good service from the short older guy in the brown half hitch outfit. Hes in a hurry to get outta there. Not very outgoing. Emerald coast bait and tackle is a great choice nowadays. Very outgoing and knowledgeable.

If you have a fishing question, they have the answer! The store is fun to explore, packed to the gills with gear and supplies. Popular with the locals, you can hear lots of great tips and news. They also offer monthly how to seminars.

Great customer service. They go out of their way to help. The shop is super busy so dont get upset if it takes more than 3 mins to get help. If you need a hobie fishing kayak this is the place to go. Ask for Barrett, he will square you away.

I call and ask if they had 150lb mono 500 yards spool he told me they dont sell spools that big so went to Navarre and got one I hate when they hire googans who dont know anythingabout products or fishing gear

They make you feel unwelcome when you walk in their store... You feel like youre bothering them... They have recommended me so many things that I should not use.. local fishermen have sworn by me things to use... Half-hitch will tell me the complete opposite... When I listen to their advice my fishing Endeavors failed... Not to mention they tell me certain products are obsolete when theyre really not... Just makes me feel like theyre blowing smoke up my ass and that they dont really know what theyre talking about.

Hands down the best local fishing tackle and bait shop for miles. Love the atmosphere, the staff and a great selection at a price that would compete with Bass Pro Shop.

A little snotty, but they have everything you need. Most of the staff is friendly, but there are 1 or 2 salty old farts (you know who you are) that you wanna steer clear of. All in all, it’s better than havin to track stuff down in bass pro!
