First time eating at a diner, definitely going to have to go a couple more times.The food was top notch, which was backed by excellent service.I had a patty melt, which was really good, and with fries, it made for a pretty fulfilling meal, which for me is hard to come by. And I also had the bread pudding, which they make themselves. And it was exactly how I think bread pudding should be.All and all, I would highly recommend this diner to anyone, and I would go as far as to say its a must for anyone on vacation in Destin.
Weve been coming to San Destin for 5 years now and this is the first time weve eaten breakfast here. I highly recommend the shrimp and grits if its being offered. Its not on the menu but seems to be a frequent special. It was awesome. Service was great along with a nostalgic atmosphere.
I dont know what these people are talking about, but this is the best place to eat and the staff is really great. Never have I ever been disappointed with the service that me or my family has had!! I highly recommend eating here if you really want a great experience! !
Its like an old fashion diner had a baby with Red Bar and moved to Destin and decided to rebel and take plastic. It is the best thing to happen to Destin since McGuires. You cant beat the food, its amazing. And such a fun atmosphere, as locals, we spent pretty much the whole time joking and messing around with the wait staff and it was a blast!
With 4 kiddos they wanted to go to Dunkin Donuts. We decided to come here. They loved it!! We will definitely come back. Biscuits and gravy, French toast, pork chops and steak and eggs! All amazing!
Exterior looks like a neat 50s style diner. Not what I expected when I walked through the doors for breakfast. First thing you see is a full service bar. Different? The Destin Diner is really hard to rate. I would say the food is average, atmosphere is kind of cool, floor was dirty and service was terrible. The pancakes are huge....would have loved of eaten them hot, but the waitress (Jennifer) did not bring us syrup. In fact, we never really saw our waitress after our food was delivered. Had to borrow syrup from an elderly couple eating two booths down. Never received refills on drinks and I had to ask the host that seated us for the check. Given other reviews on google, seems like this place might be good....but I cannot recommend it.
Tonight is a Thursday night in destin. I understand its summer but the employees were just plain rude! First we walked in and the sign said please wait to be seated. We wait, Im looking around. I see no sign of anyone. Then a few minutes pass and finally someone greets us to seat us and give us menus. We sit down in a pretty crowed area and it was very cold so we asked to move to the more warm side and less crowed. We sit to look at the menu and about 6 or 7 minutes pass and still no one has come to even greet us or ask what we want to drink...it seems like the employees ran off again and were hiding ..we waited a little longer and then we left because I was ready to order and still no one came to great us at our new spot. I am a server myself and it seemed like any few employees I saw turned their nose at us...I was excited to eat here again because when I ate here in December 2015 the food was AMAZING and service was great. Im really let down. I will not return
Food was great! Service was really slow, but it is the day after the 4th of July so I hope its not always this slow. I would definitely come back.
The Destin Diner was always a favorite when my family vacationed in Destin for several years. We were disappointed when we came several years ago and it had closed down. The diner re-opened under new ownership about 5 months ago and it is stronger, faster, friendlier, and tastier than ever before. The staff (especially Rebecca!!!) gives you the feeling that you are dining with family. The service is SECOND TO NONE. They went beyond the call of duty to get us to relax and enjoy the tastiest food we encountered the entire time we were on vacation. The grits were to die for as my husband of few words stated, cheeseburgers were cooked to perfection, Belgian waffles perfectly light and fluffy and this has now become a permanent fixture in our summer vacations. The best food and atmosphere in Destin. We loved it!!!!!

Me and my sister had lunch here. I had the Pane chicken and it was soooo delicious. The staff were very prompt and friendly with everyone. We are going to eat here again tomorrow before we leave Destin. This diner has been our best food experience this week!!
Amazing food-Yummy cheese grits, Fresh french fries and hamburgers, Perfect fried shrimp (with not too much breading like in other restaurants), Fresh salads with leafy greens (not wilted at all), Homemade Belgian Waffles, Delicious milkshakes with sprinklesSooo good!!Service was great-We were seated immediately, Waiter was great, food served quickly, our drinks were always filled and the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable of the food.Restaurant was clean and had cool decorations.Great experience!

Our favorite meal out, this vacation. Menu seemed limited, BUT it pushed us to try something less boring and it was all fabulous. Hubby had shrimp and grits, I had the Manicotti and asked for a white sauce. Holy cow, if you like cheese, it is heaven. Kids loved their food too. Very friendly service, went mid afternoon and had the place to ourselves, interesting atmosphere. A little pricey, but it matched the quality. Watch it- theyre closed Monday and Tuesday, and between lunch and dinner.

DO NOT EAT HERE! My wife and I are locals and my worst experience at Waffle House beats our time at Destin Diner. I dont consider myself a picky eater but the grits and eggs were terrible and the service was very negligent. My wifes food was tasteless. Ive never reviewed anything before but I just had to warn our locals and visiting guests. I mean no disrespect and have no animosity for the owners or staff, just trying to look out for everybody.

Freezing cold in there so by the time my food got to me my eggs were cold. No one came and checked to see if I needed anything else or to see if I needed a refill on the coffee but then again the coffee was so strong I could barely drink it. I ordered white toast and got wheat and I questioned it and he goes no, its wheat and I said I ordered white and he then said, do you want me to go get that then? Ummm, sure????
Awesome people, and food. Recommend the chocolate chip pancakes with bacon for breakfast, and BLT for dinner.
Food was awesome and the service was great! My husband had the shrimp and grits (best weve ever had!!), and I had a Belgian waffle (delicious as well).
The breakfast is excellent. Ask if they have the chorizo omellet, it is not on the menu but it is fantastic!Update 1 April 16:We have come twice in the last 2 weeks and the service was very mediocre. It seemed the waitstaff was overwhelmed and undermanned. We waited on a host when there was open table and they handed us menus and just pointed in the direction. Food is still excellent though!

We had dinner and the following day, breakfast. The food here was great. The pork tenderloin was tender and juicy. The vegetables were fresh and tasty. The ocean sea omelet was outstanding. the service excellent, prices eere reasonable. alsi the make the best hamburgers in town along with the french fries. make the destin diner a must place to go to for great food
