Wow. Incredible vibe. The hotel looks sick too! My coffee was great and my tomato basil croissant was super good. Great music and incredibly cozy with tons of seating.

First time to Populace, wasn’t disappointed by what we saw! Customer service wasn’t the typical barista experience very quiet but quick and attentive! The Chai latte with oat milk was spot on with sweetness and spice❤️ the latte wasn’t anything crazy but I will say totally worth the stop!

The atmosphere is the best! I love getting a cappuccino and bread in the morning from them and spend some time in the siren hotels lobby. The flavor that comes through perfectly foamed milk is unforgettable. Baristas are always helpful.

Wonderful coffee. Awesome space. Great to sit and get some work done while eating some of the best bagels in the world. Great staff as well!

Coffee is excellent, but the barista in the mornings is quite rude. Ive stayed at the hotel several times and work quite early on the table that is on the lobby. She mistreats people. They should find someone that is a morning person to deal with this... and forget about asking for something that they dont have... she gets quite feisty... not only with me but with other people that are staying at the hotel.

First of all, this place is beautiful. Like being transported back in time. Then, the coffee is delicious. We had a cappuccino, a latte and blueberry muffin. All delicious. Visited the Bay City Populace first and learned there is a second location in downtown Detroit. The Detroit location is close to home. We look forward to our next visit.

Good coffee, and its in a sweet hotel. Not the best coffee Ive ever had, but I enjoyed it, and they knew what they were talking about and were friendly.

Such a lovely spot and such friendly staff! The snacks are delicious and the coffee is always hot. I love spending as much time in this cozy café as possible.

The best espresso I have ever had in Detroit. Tried one at ASHE and I like Populace espresso better. The people at Populace are way more polite than ASHE.

Unfortunately the only positive I can write about this place is its in a beautiful lobby of a hotel. Thats it. I got my drink there and even though there were two people it took a ridiculous amount of time. This was because the two baristas were in a conversation with each other the entire time. It was such a deep conversation that at one point the woman making the drink had to ask me what I got because she forgot. I basically paid $7 for a mediocre latte so I could listen to how their Saturday night went.

Best coffee in Downtown Detroit and more importantly the best customer service!. Grace and Logan are great and I enjoy stopping in each morning! Would highly recommend checking Populace out.

Good coffee, great atmosphere, and the best almond croissant I have had on this side of the Atlantic. Definitely worth a visit.

This is the best coffeeshop downtown! I love the location in the gorgeous lobby of the Siren Hotel. There are several cute and cozy seating areas to enjoy your beverage throughout the lobby. Their cold coffee is amazing and Ive enjoyed several lattes crafted by their expert baristas.
