I had a really great experience at American Mattress with Joe. I ran him through a gamut of questions. He was professional, patient and helped me make a great mattress decision.* * *Update....while I had a great in store purchase the backend of the process has left much to be desired. My delivery date was moved without any call or information from the company. I get that products do not always come in as anticipated however the utter lack of communication is mind-blowing. If an estimated delivery date is not going to be met, it should not be incumbent on the customer to call and find that out, only to then be told it was rescheduled to another date without even asking if that would be feasible. As far as I am concerned, that is completely unreasonable. Then I got a call from Mike from corporate who was rude and stated his frustration is 10 fold compared to mine. He just kept saying he was trying to resolve the issue by telling me the date in which they rescheduled my delivery for. I was already aware of said date because I called the store myself. I tried to explain that what I am not ok with was the lack of communication. He couldnt tell me who the responsible party should have been for calling me and telling me my date was moved. All he could say is call the store manager from where I purchased. I am truly disappointed at experience.

I purchased my bed from Joe a couple weeks ago and I have nothing but great things to say about him as well as the Downer’s Grove location. First and foremost the store was clean, organized and very well lit. I don’t know if those things matter to a lot of people but I thought It was important. This was my first time purchasing a mattress for myself and Joe walked me through each and every step. He was patient with me while I tried out multiple beds and explained the different qualities of each one while letting me know what he thought was best for me. Joe was honest and very knowledgeable on all things sleep related and really took the time to help me find the perfect fit. I walked out of American Mattress with a very reasonable, very comfortable bed that fits my specific needs and is going to last me. That also gives me peace of mind. I would totally recommend going to this specific store even if it’s a bit out of your way. I haven’t slept this great in years. Also try the side sleeper pillow it changed my life! Thanks Joe!

We just bought our brand-new bed from Phil at American Mattress in DG & we were thrilled with the entire transaction from start to finish!! He helped us picked the right mattress for us and also gave us a great deal!! We had a few follow-up questions after delivery which he answered for us quickly & efficiently. The gentlemen who delivered our new bed, pillows & frame were also fantastic!!! They called about 15 minutes before they arrived & were prompt & courteous & friendly! They also wore masks of course & booties which we appreciated to protect the carpet. They also hauled away our old mattress & box spring & very nicely put the old frame at the curb for us. Overall we were extremely pleased with our experience!!!

I went to American Mattress Downers Grove for a new mattress based on previous experience. I wanted a new Pillow top Mattress to replace the old one. The manager Kevin Showed me the Serta Perfect Sleeper. It felt very comfortable in the Store and He was able to discount the whole Set and frame to my budget even if it was more expensive than my old mattress from 14 years ago. The delivery guys showed up a half hour early on delivery day and set everything up and took away my old set in just minutes. After a weeks worth of sound sleep I am very happy with my purchase.

Phil was terrific in helping us pick out a mattress. He spent time with us narrowing down the right fit for both me and my wife. He spent a lot of time explaining how technology has changed and the differences between different models. Writing a review for my mother since she doesnt know how. My mom came in today looking for a mattress for me since she knew I was looking for one everywhere(Im 21 btw). She came in and a salesman proceeded to ask multiple questions, the normal ones (what side I sleep on, how firm, etc) but then he proceeded to ask her if I was fully developed... Im not super angry because I understand what he was trying to ask since my mother told them that she was shopping for her daughter but the question definitely could have been phrased in much better.. less creepy way.. Like oh how old is your daughter, has she finished growing so we know how long of a mattress you will need... Strange experience.. definitely not coming back

Im sure other stores sell the same or similar products, so what sets any given store apart from the others is the customer service. Michael was very helpful and knowledgeable. Listened carefully to what my wife and I preferred in helping us make the right purchase. This is our 3rd mattress from American Mattress, an organization very loyal to their customers.

Came on a Saturday after looking at Mattress firm one block away. Sam greeted us and sized up my son’s needs very quickly. Sam was friendly, personable, and able to find my son the mattress that made him happier than any other we tried. He worked for us and got us a good deal. I was hoping to get the mattress that day like the other place offered, but was told I could pick it up on Monday. He made a mistake with the order. I called Monday before going over and was told it was on the truck and would be in the store by 3pm. Then a few hours later they called and said that was wrong but they would deliver it to my house Tuesday night. I arranged for the pickup initially because I couldn’t be home to wait for a delivery. Instead of being allowed to pick it up myself on Tuesday, I would not be able to until Thursday. Apparently, bringing it to their own store 1.5 miles away in town takes longer.... makes no sense and very disappointing. Eventually, we worked something out where I gave them a one hour window for them to deliver to my home. Overall, I was initially happy, then very frustrated, and ended up reasonably content.
