Poor customer service. I needed something out of the locked case, stood there forever no one came. Then went and got all my groceries. I had to check out myself and there is no room to put your groceries after you scan them. There is not a worker around at all to help you. Then as I was walking out with a cart full of groceries a worker wanted to see my receipt and told me that she doesnt see an item on my receipt well if I had a little help I wouldnt have this problem. I feel if you have a store that big and you know people are purchasing alof stuff there should be a cashier available. This is not a convenient store. I will not shop there again.

Worst customer service ever. There was not a single register open, only self checkout. I absolutely refuse to use self checkout I demand to be checked out by a real cashier. I walked out without buying anything. I doubt if I will return to this location any time soon.

Huge Store. Restrooms were clean and well stocked. However, when we went to check out, there was literally 1 human cashier. Every self-checkout lane was 20 people deep. Seriously? 25 min we waited to finally get our turn to check out, and the whole time everyone in every lane was complaining on the just of it all. Its sad.... these major companies have the workforce to do great things and you just let it slip all away. I see lots of online shopping in the future.

Very crowded, not disorganized. Customer support team is useless. I had bought batteries for an fm transmitter for the car, the package for the transmitter said aa but it really needed AAA, they made me rebuy the AAA batteries cause I had opened the aa. Not a huge deal, but it was their products fault not mine, I shouldnt be penalized for their mistake.

I visited this Walmart for the first time in over a year, and I live here, tonight and I’ll never be back. Get heckled “did you get both those waters??” Yes. I did. You can see that on your computer sir. Worth the drive to go to Galena or Plateville. Those stores are much cleaner, nicer, and managed better.

I do not like self check out for many reasons. But at this store the only option IS to use self checkout. I dont understand why. We just moved here and went there and couldnt find a single working employee until we ended up in the front at checkout. 1 guy managing all the self check outs alone. No one was even at the service desk!!!! They did have someone at the entrance but what good is a little old lady there? Not trying to be rude but people could literally just walk out of the store without paying and nothing would happen because there were no workers. If I could rate no stars I would.

Was at Wal Mart in Dubuque today. They actually had a human checking out. And she was very friendly. Her name was Angel. Thanks Angel for being so courteous. It was awesome having a human to check us out. And very much appreciated. 🙂

This place is spiraling out of control! No carts inside; clothing all over the floor; employees sitting around on their cellphones; electronic checkouts that dont except cash, or cash only; NO checkout personnel; water machine thats been broke for MONTHS; place is filthy!!! I could go on and on... If I was an inspector I would shut this place down! Their produce is unfit to eat unless you are from a third world country. This used to be a busling place, pleasant place to shop, and Im sure a major cash cow for Walmart. It is now a DUMP!!!

Havent had an unpleasant experience here. Associates have always been courteous and friendly to my family. Really enjoying the pick up service. Dont know how I lived without it!

I guess shopping at the store nowadays is the same as online. You pick it out and pay for it all on your own. Why leave the house

I definitely can see the effect of limited workforce here. Many shelves were low on supplies. Customer service desk had limited coverage.

Spot on. The employees know where everything is if you can find one. The online ordering department for pickup is a hit and miss with regards to work ethic. Some are destined for greatness as they grow up, others will be great government union employees because theyll never care and work hard.

If it is a quick trip, its fine. Get in, get out! Otherwise I visit the Galena location. Dubuque seems a little hectic and not as stocked in certain areas and not as clean as it was many years ago!

Total waist of time spent almost an hour in there trying to get a 4 dollar bottle of hair gel that was locked in a cabinet that could only be opened by 1 person who had a key that was no where to be found then they said theyd have it up front for me when I was ready to check out. Got to the check outs and one end of self check outs was open with 50 people waiting. I waited in line for another 15 to 20 min and when I asked for the gel they had no clue about it and wanted me to wait for the guy with the keys again. I left my stuff there and went to target was in and out with everything I needed in less than 10min. NEVER GO TO WALMART THEY CARE MORE ABOUT PROTECTING 4 DOLLAR HAIR PRODUCTS THAN THEY DO ABOUT MAKING CUSTOMERS HAPPY. I MEAN IF YOU CANT PROTECT YOUR PRODUCTS TO THE POINT YOU ARE LOCKING UP 4 DOLLAR BOTTLES OF HAIR GEL MAYBE ITS TIME TO RETHINK NO YOUR ENTIRE TEAM MAYBE YOURE LOOKING OUTSIDE WHEN YOU SHOULD BE LOOKING INSIDE. JUST SAYING

The people in the paint department are the reason Im giving the four stars. I had been looking for paint for my kitchen for a couple months and couldnt settle on anything. The woman in the paint department was so patient with me and listened carefully to what I envisioned but couldnt find. She picked Tea and Honey for my color and I adore it. I have since gone back to purchase two more gallons and have had the same excellent customer service each time.

Retail is a rough gig these days, they are doing the best they can. Every associate was working hard and were nice to me.

Always a place I go to for my things. Always find what Im looking for :) the workers are doing great for the circumstances. All places seem to be short staffed its so sad to see.

Dubuque Walmart is disgusting. The store is dirty and understaffed . I had to stand at a locked case forever just to try and get a pregnancy test. It got opened because an employee happened to be wandering by, not because they were answering the button I pushed for assistance. If Dubuque Walmart spent half as much time cleaning as they do locking up stupid products, this store wouldn’t be notorious for how gross it is. I consider myself lucky that I can swear off this store for ones that are more expensive but I can’t do this nasty Walmart anymore.

I can typically get in and out in a timely manner and normally find most of what I need if not all of it.

I do not do self check out so if you dont want to work for Walmart for free, this is not for you. Very busy and long lines

A typical Walmart supercenter. They have online shopping and pickup for groceries. Ive used the service and it worked ok. Parking lot is big. Often there are RVs and big trucks in the lot overnight. Theres a Lowes nextdoor. That makes the parking lot extra big.Right now the restaurant is closed. Previously there was a Subway store, but they shut down. No indication what will replace that restaurant yet.

Extremely bad experience since there were several customers stranded in front of self check in counters. There were tons of employees but they did nothing to take care of the customers who were trying to check out, I didnt see a single Walmart representative in front of the check-in counters checking us out which they were supposed to do. We had to do that on our own. They were just standing beside the self check-in counters and watching the show happily. Also, mens and womens restroom were dirty and full of toilet papers lying on the floor. Poor management and very bad leadership of employees. The pictures shared will explain the situation better. Shame on you Walmart.

If I could give this store zero stars I would. When did Wal-Mart stop having cashiers. I understand the self check out when you have a couple things, but when you have just shy of $400 in groceries and have to check yourself out - it is ridiculous. We will never shop here again.

Consistent as always. I had an issue with a screw that came out of my sunglasses that I got here, it was fixed for free.

For the past 2 weeks Ive made 3 trips to this store. Cant get what I need because their shelves have been empty in damn near all the departments!!

The store is dirty, and way under stocked. Did not have some basic items on our grocery list. I generally avoid the store if I can, but occasionally we end up there. Check out kines are long, even self check out.

The store needs alot of cleaning! The floors are so dirty & gross! The produce section always has a messy floor & today I pointed out to the employee that was watching the self checkout that there was a tomato smashed all over the floor there that needed cleaned up & he just ignored it! The employee I asked for a price check told me she couldnt help me with that & walked away! There are no self price checks anymore. The customer service return counter is closed alot too. Not even 1 checkout open with a real employee checking u out! Everything was self check with very long lines! The belt at the checkout was filthy! I didnt want to put my food on it! Employees never cleaned the counter/belt or checkout area at all. This store needs alot of cleaning done!! Employees were all rude that I encountered today too.

I NORMALLY DONT GO SHOPPING THERE.I WAS SATISFIED WITH THE MEAT SELECTIONS, AS WELL AS THE PRICES, AND THE QUALITY. I BOUGHT 60 EGG COUNT AND PAID 6 DOLLARS. TO ME THAT ISNT FEAR, THATS GREAT.WATERMELLON 3.89, HYVEE IS 4.99.I WILL TRY TO GO THERE MORE OFTEN.THANK YOU WALMART.......

Walmarts always a good time place to shop. So many items and also well priced and their rolled back prices are even better. Another nice thing about shopping at Walmart is plenty of room to get around other shoppers, being the isles are good and wide, and I love the self check outs!

Probably the worst Walmart Ive ever been in. Floors had debris all over so it was hard to move your cart. Trash getting stuck under the wheels. Whole look and feel of the store looked like a hurricane hit. Numerous items out of stock, shelves tore apart, product all over the store. Some of the rudest associates Ive encountered at a Walmart. The Store Manager and his leadership staff should be appalled and ashamed at what their store looks like. If I was the District Manager, and a store in my territory looked liked this, heads would roll. What a s***hole... the Store Manager should be terminated.

Its a Walmart. We were from out of town and needed some last minute flashlights to go to the caves and they had them. Alot of bare shelves but we werent necessarily looking for more then what we came for.

There are a lot of complaints I have for Walmart, for starters, its way too big, making it really hard to memorize. The employees and manager or always so stubborn with rules, and there are things they claim they have, but whenever I go out with my grandparents or my mom, the item I have searched up isnt there. The prices are great compared to Target and Hyvee, and the parking lot is much bigger so you can find a spot, but getting out is a nightmare because there are at least 2 massive holes in the driveway to the parking lot, and that could cause a car crash. This store is good, but not even close to perfect!

Only one manned register open and the rest were self checkout. It wouldnt have been so bad but the lines at the selfcheckouts were SUPER LONG!

The walmart supercenter in Dubuque Iowa is most worst store to go to. You have one cashier for the whole store and 2 cashiers for the self service and the lines are at least 20 people long or longer you have to wait 45 minutes to an hour to pay for your stuff. I will never go to that store ever again!!! And if all Walmarts are going to this thats to bad because they will have to close their doors. People like to go in a store and shop .sometimes they buy extra stuff that wasnt on the list. So please do something about this problem.

Walmart Dubuque IA just gets worse and worse, even before the pandemic they were disappointing. They hire old and teenage workers and put them in unbearable situations, lack of training and leadership is a ongoing problem. There online services have gotten worse instead of better, you have one or two staff members not only pulling the products from the shelves but putting it in cars as well.Switched to Target in the recent weeks, what a huge difference…

Went shopping here and when I went to check out all they had was self checkouts. I have to scan it. I have to bag it. I have to weigh my fruit then look it up on a chart which I have no idea how to do. When the girl came over to help I asked why no checkout people. She said they were short staffed. Maybe they should train the greeter and the gistopo person that checks your receipt to make sure u didnt steal anything to do checkout. Ill go to a different store from now on.

Why dont they have any cashiers? Not one line was open. All off the self service line were full at least 3 people deap. They are making huge profits and cutting back more and more.

Disappointing I shop for my place of work which is a care facility and need to have a cashier in person check me out due to us being a tax exempt establishment and there were no cashiers needed to go to service desk which was fine but when I see a lady close her lane and not and tell me go to service counter then see her wander around. While there I had seen many staff walk around back n forth one end of check out to the other instead of opening one up its upsetting to others as well who do not use scan n go cuz of still writing checks out. Do you really need 3 or 4 staff standing at each scan n go and checking to see if u r wearing a mask. as a popular store you should really consider being customer service your priority

Staff do not communicate they had me walk from north entrance to south entrance looking for mobility cart only to have store staff give it to some lady screaming for it several aisles away as I was approaching him. Some Walmart stores seem to always have a shortage of Ada carts more so then others

August 2021- Literally just moments ago I walked away from the electronics section. I was waiting excess of 5 minutes for an employee who was a short distance avoiding eye contact. When he finally approached and asked what I wanted I asked to sign up for a credit card. He said to do so online and walked away. DIRECTLY in front of him was more information about it that he could have directed me to. Just like, why does nobody care here?2021- Last time I came to the store all of the registers were turned off. They have a set of Self Service machines. I asked an employee who had her arms folded behind her back leaning against the wall if she could ring me up and she flat out said no and pointed at the registers.

I am currently standing in line. There are zero cashiers! The self checkout bay is closed. There are also about 25 standing in line waiting for self checkouts. This is such a terrible display of customer service. I don’t want to work here and the prices are not making up for that. Save your sanity. Shop local or online bc they are not doing anything for anyone here.

No matter when ever I go there I can never find a worker to ask a question about an item. If you do there a younger employee who has no ambition to help. When I was told I had to use self checkout, I left a whole cart of groceries at the check stand and walked out to go to a different grocery store. All the real grocery chains don’t do that if they want my business.

VERY DISORGANIZED STORE. NO EASY IN/EASY OUT ACCESS TO THE PARKING LOT

So, I have been to this location twice now. The first time we went the minute we got near the produce it smelled like mold or mildew. The store is very poorly lit so it makes it look dark and dirty. I went to use the Primo water machine and discovered black mold dripping from the spout. Also, the top part of the machine was a jar and there was also a sticker showing that it had just recently been serviced. See pictures included. I spoke to the manager on duty, explaining how dangerous it could be and how they could make people very sick. He said that they would get in touch with the people who supply the machine. He also offered to let me purchase 3 bottles of spring water at the same price as the Primo water. We returned a week later and the Machine was still in the same state. Out of all the staff that we encountered during our two visits only one young gentleman was kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. We hope to be able to avoid using this store at all if possible.

Hire some people to check you out as handicap people dont like scan and go. Get a manager that want to have people working the cash resisters to wait on you.
