Even through an ownership change the food is still great by Dubuque standards, but man... the way I have been treated by the front staff makes it such a negative experience that I don’t often go anymore and no longer suggest it to others. That was confirmed again this AM when my husband and I wanted a nice breakfast to take out. I want to support this small business and spend money there! I want to recommend this spot, but I don’t know if I can. I hope that the ownership hears that this is a real thing. Thanks to Al (the cook) for being a great human despite a negative environment!

I wanted to treat my daughters to a special lunch today...wow, SO disappointed! I thought it was odd that no one was there at 12:45. East Mill Bakery was so awesome with huge sandwiches and a large portion of fries. I didn’t mind spending $13 then for a BLT when I knew I’d only be able to eat 1/2, and have enough for lunch the next day! This BLT was on a little bun with a tablespoon of avocado. And no joke, 10 fries per plate. The cook, Al, walked over to our table HOLDING a handful of lettuce, then proceeded to put the lettuce on my plate!?! Yes! This really happened!! My youngest daughter couldn’t contain her laughter. So if you want to spend $47 for 2 BLT’s, 1 grilled cheese, 2 small smoothies and a fountain pop...head on over! At least we had a good laugh! But wow. I miss East Mill!

Awesome food and friendly service! Every experience here has been wonderful. From the coffee to the bakery items, to the soup and the bbq, everything is made fresh and taste superb!

The food was good but their ordering system is poor. My wife had the turkey and apple sandwich with homemade fries and it was excellent. I ordered the rib special for lunch. I waited for several minutes, thinking that they were busy or had a problem in the kitchen. After several other customers were served, I finally went in to check what was wrong with my order. The excuse that I got was that the specials dont always print to the kitchen. The ribs were very good but the wait for service was poor. The problem needs to be fixed and someone should be regularly checking on customers to be sure that theyre happy.

Waited 1.25 hours for food. Went inside to ask for status update at 45 mins and waitress noted would bring the items outside. At 1 hour 15 minutes went inside to inquire and said lost order. Checked credit card and paymeny was processed. When items were brought out to table they were in To Go containers with no utensils (ordered for outside dining). Also sandwich was made not to order (requested no tomato). They sent the youngest member of the team out to apologize with a free cookie. Unreal.Food was ok. Nothing worth the wait that for certain. All things considered, we wont be back.

Had to wait 35 minutes for three sandwiches and an omelette. Omelette was black to a crisp. Unfortunately didn’t know until we got home as we ordered to go. Sandwiches were not worth the time and the cost. Service was not great.

What happened?? Used to be to die for. English muffins were fantastic!!! Last time there they were not fresh. Two days later they were moldy.

Love it!! Outdoor seating was great!! Pumpkin bread pudding was delicious!!

Place has gone down hill no personality’s at all! So called girl/cook in the kitchen needs to find another occupation because she obviously doesn’t want to be their! Just plain rude.. never again waited 45 minutes for carry outs
