I purchased 2 pieces of jewelery through a 3rd party. Both had warranties on the jewelery. The warrantly transferred over into my name and repairs are taken care of for me under these warranties.

I came into Kay’s wanting to look and try on some anniversary bands. I wasn’t greeted initially (which was fine) but when I was, the sales rep pointed where the bands were and continued to stay seated. I went over there expecting the sales rep to come over and help, but I stood there awkwardly for 5 minutes glancing periodically to see if the sales rep would come over. I completely understand that there is a lot of behind the scene work and the sales rep might have been busy, but the sales rep didn’t even acknowledge she was coming over to help me or that it was going to be sometime before she could come over. So, after awkwardly standing there for 5 minutes, I left.

Had my ring sent in a month after we bought it. It lost diamonds. So Kays sent it to get fixed. They told me 2 weeks. Well guess what? Ring still isnt back after over 2 weeks. I recommend u dont not buy jewelry from them, if u do, pay someone else to fix a diamond because ur ring wont be back when they say it will be.
Bought necklace. Necklace broke. I was happy to pay to fix it. Sent it in. Kay said they fixed necklace via email; they said, Weve completed our quality control review to make sure your jewelry has met our high standards. As always, your complete satisfaction is our number one priority (lying).Actually, they broke it worse (went from 1 piece to 5). Excuses and no accountability when confronted. Kept upselling the entire time. Warranty this warranty that. I completed a review--indicated poor service...then I get a call with more excuses...then asking what they can do to be better. They had three opportunities to make it right and chose not to stand behind their product and be accountable for the service they chose to offer.Hence, do not recommend.
I have bought rings, necklaces, and earrings from Kays in Dubuque. Im very happy with their customer service. They treat you like someone special. Michelle is awesome! She does everything to make sure you are happy with your purchases.
I highly recommend shopping at this Kays location for all your jewelry wants and needs. Their staff is great and always available to help and answer questions.We put my wedding set on their layaway program. It was an easy and super convenient way to get the ring I wanted since we were not able to purchase it the day we picked it out. We ended up being married before we were able to pay it off. We kept making payments and getting the amount lower. To our great surprise we recieved a call one day from Kyle saying they were giving us a huge discount for being a loyal customer and waved the rest of our payments making us able to pick up my ring that day! It truly was an amazing surprise.We are truly grateful for their gift to us and the kindness all of their staff showed us throughout the entire time my ring was there. I will for sure be a return customer and will send everyone I know looking for jewelry in their direction. Purchased a watch with lifetime battery replacement a few years ago. Never had any problems getting the battery replaced until today when I took it in to get replaced. They told me that they dont do that anymore and id have to pay an additional twenty five dollars to get a lifetime battery replacement. This place has gone way down hill. I dont think Ill ever shop here again.

Went in for a simple diamond check-up and cleaning to uphold the lifetime diamond warranty I have on my ring. An associate barely even glanced at my diamond before cleaning it and handing it back to me. Before leaving, I had to ask whether or not my diamond was secure since it’s been loose/fallen out 2 times in the past year and the associate had said nothing to me about my ring, and they shrugged and told me it was fine. Then I got home to realize that the associate did a terrible job cleaning my ring. Sad that they can’t even do a proper, thorough inspection for their customers. The store I am used to in Chicago is much better as they always show me what they’re seeing while they inspect my diamond, and offer to clean and inspect my other diamond rings (wedding band and other ring) for free even though they aren’t from Kays. THIS LOCATION IS NOT WORTH YOUR TIME.
12-7-18 dropped off my anniversary rings to be ready for Christmas. Picked up my rings... not soldered. Stopped today... same garbage. Gave a hand written note... promising her rings back, mysteriously the internet was down to correctly accept our rings. They wont be in business much longer, doing business like this. Never would reccomend.
Kay’s is a great place to get your jewelry. My husband ordered me a bracelet online and they were nice enough to wrap that purchase in to a discount we had on my wedding band, even though we purchased the bracelet prior to having the discount saved up. The bracelet actually ended up breaking within a week. I had it fixed elsewhere then it broke in another place. Kay’s refunded my husband 100%, which was very nice of them. They always clean my rings so well and have always had a quick turnaround time when it came to getting my band and my engagement ring resized, sautered, or fixed.
I applied for a line of credit and I told them to only send emails and NOT put me on any mailing lists of any kind but within a few weeks I received a bill. My wife saw the bill and opened it and a very nice surprise was ruined. When I gave my wife the anniversary ring the stone was rattling around in the box. I returned the ring and went to another Jeweler. THANKS KAYS! YOU SUCK!

So my husband purchased me a $600.00 in rhythm White Gold diamonds necklace from Kay for Christmas it was a mess from the beginning after having to order it because they ran out! Unprofessional people is what you get there unless you get lucky to get a woman named Tanya. The second time putting the necklace on the chain broke defective chain right unless you purchase the extended warranty which doesnt cover the pendant only the chain lol your screwed never again will we purchase from Kay Jewelers !
I bought my daughter two charms to go on her Pandora bracelet. Both guys there told me I did not need a receipt to bring them back. He said they look them up by email. The last time I bought from Kays they gave me a receipt Im confused now not very happy with the customer service either. Both guys were very rude when I asked for a receipt.
I would not spend a dollar in this store after my experience. I was greeted by the manager Michelle who assisted me in my search for a engagement ring. She not only was completely clueless on anything she was just trying to sell me by telling me “its pretty and i should buy this” she couldn’t even tell me the simple 4cs I learned online before i stepped in the store. Without giving me any knowledge on the piece i was looking At she pushed me to buy. I was not willing to purchase after someone that called themselves the manager couldnt tell me more than the tag. As soon as i got up to walk out she tried to call another worker over to sell me. At this point i wanted to learn and not be pushed but cleary i was in the wrong place. Will take my business elseware and will not deal with this store again.
Horrible business. I’ll being paying off the little bit I owe left and never step foot in there again. Bought a 600 dollar necklace for my fiancé got 200 in rewards. Went in to buy her engagement ring and they said I can’t use them cuz it’s already been discounted. Now after I bought ring they gave me a pile of the 100 dollar rewards but can only use them if you spend more money. Joke. Well went to make my payment and apparently they switched banks and now I had to go in and pay my bill cuz I can’t sit on the phone for an hour with a robot going through different things. Call the store to ask about how much my payoff is and Sharon or however her name is spelled gave me a number and then hung up not saying goodbye. Call the number and I get hung up on cuz that number doesn’t service the card anymore. Call back and she instantly has an attitude. She actually helped a little bit on second call but not much. No wonder this place has horrible reviews. Don’t buy from them. You will spend thousands on something they brag up but once it’s bought they will tell you it’s worthless.

They dont even deserve 1 star. I will never ever buy anything from here again. Worst customer service ever!!! Every time I bring my ring in to get fixed or recoated it never comes in on time. Second it was late then promised it would come in by the next day. Guess what??? That did not happen and I had to call them to find out what was going on only to not get answers why. I then had to call customer service to only get the run around with them and get nothing but excuses. I did get a call back from the store to be told it would be here by then next day but then no later then friday. So which day is it again??? Its nothing but a joke and even worse when you spend how much on items there. This is not my first bad experince with them. If you want to save yourself alot of hassle and disappointment buy elsewhere. They arent very understanding and will not do anything for there mistake!!!

Kay jewelers lost my ring along with 17 others. I had ordered a custom wedding band that came back perfect but not soddered together like I had wanted. They had to ship it off to Texas to get soddered together and on the way back ups lost it. The employees acted like it had nothing to do with them when it was their negligence in the first place to not sodder it together. They rushed to get another custom band done for me and it came back 3 days before my wedding. When I got there to pick up the ring I realized it was a completely different design them I made. It had extra Diamond in it and the employees said I was lucky because it was worth more now. The worst part of it all though was the way they treated me. You think if there were 17 of your customers rings lost that as a manager you would have memorized their customers names and faces. Every single time we walked through the door we were unrecognized. Not to mention that the store was a mess with food scattered everywhere. I ended up returning my custom band and went to shamrock jewelers in Dubuque to get a new wedding ring altogether. It was. Such a shame how I had to feel about my ring around the time of my wedding when its supposed to be such a wonderful time. I will never walk through that door again and I encourage everyone else to follow.

Don’t expect any fast delivery if you order it to the store or basically any delivery at all. Ordered a ring to store and it was being repaired before being sent of which I was not informed. When the same type of ring that was not needing repairs was ordered again, it has been two weeks and still not here.
Terrible people to work with. Will never go to this store again.
