Ah, the grown mans toy store! Bought my JD yard tractor and blower there 10 years ago, still use them for annual service and parts. Helpful staff, large inventory, never mind going there, even knowing I may spend a decent amount of cash.

Thank you Dustin for being so experienced and helpful today when I called Roeder Outdooor Power to help repair one of my two Deere garden tractors. I admit I am mechanically challenged but Dustin talked me through what to do, how to do it and the tools I needed. Because of his patience toward my ignorance we were up and mowing in no time without a service call or any expense.Give that Dustin a raise. Im sticking with Roeder Outdoor Power in Dubuque, Iowa forever.

I hate wasting money. I’ve spent a lifetime in pursuit of the cheapest option for almost every purchase – cars, campers, motorcycles, tools, etc. Of course, when those items failed, it was up to me to fix. My garage was filling up with broken down equipment so decided I would give the retail experience a try and purchased a used garden tractor from Roeder Outdoor Power. This was a significant expense for me and a new experience purchasing from a retailer. I honestly had deep reservations about the value of the retailer experience as opposed to simply scouring the web for the lowest cost option. I used the tractor for a month and felt that there were some problems with the mowing deck so I requested service. Not having much, if any experience with a retailer, I honestly did not know what to expect. I feared an expensive run-around. What I ended up experiencing was a level of service and commitment to customer satisfaction that has truly surprised me. Not only was my tractor fixed, the service department went far beyond my expectations. I’m certain they chose to fix the tractor correctly not just quickly or cheaply. I am now the proud owner of Dubuque’s most bad-a$$ lawn tractor. I can assure you that this extremely frugal/cheap guy is happy with his decision to purchase from Roeder.

Had to work on my mower and Im not used to working with machines. Dustin Ludovissy went out of his way and asked me to come into the shop after hours to show me what I needed to do. He went over and above what most places would do. Great service at Roeder Outdoor Power. Justin is a definite asset. For the record, the other workers there were also very helpful. Great group. Ill be a return customer!!

I was impressed by the selection of quality late model lawn tractors I saw online. I had contacted Casey in advance on a couple of units I had interest in, he was quick to respond and willing to answer all my questions and send me pictures of the units. I drove 2.5 hours on a saturday morning to come take a look and hopefully take a mower home with me. Casey was very helpful, even though it was very busy in the showroom ( I had a nice conversation with the receptionist while I was waiting). He helped me find the mower i was looking for, and service aided by swapping tires and giving it a bath for me before I loaded it on my trailer. Mark in service was great, he made sure he took the time to go over the mower with me and make sure I was comfortable with the operation and service of the machine, he also made it very clear that customer service and delivering/maintaining a quality product is very important to them. Mark and Casey are top notch!

Very knowledgeable service department. Had a problem with my JD mower. They asked me if I could bring it in and maybe they could fix it so I wouldnt have to make two trips.Dustin took care of the problem and I was on my way with in 20 minutes.Melissas crew was very helpful.

Great place to buy your John Deere lawn equipment. Please be aware of their great parts department and with their data backup of history of my account which AIDS in my parts fits the first time. Even I do not remember model # and serial #.

Always helpful in service and sales. Fair pricing and honest opinions, and have always helped me out with mower troubles in a pinch. Mobile service is great, and always keeps my mower in top condition in spite of me! Great all around people to deal with. Much appreciated.

Huge selection of mowers. I explained my needs to Jesse and Casey and they found me the perfect used mower in my price range. I came to pick it up and the blades were sharpened, the mower was washed and ready to go. Jesse helped me load it up and I was on my way. A very pleasant transaction, excellent customer service and a great price!

Very good service for parts we use them to get all our JD parts for machines that we our working on . usually we contact them with the part # and many times they have what we need in stock THANKS ALL YOU GUYS!!!

Drove to dealership 2 Saturdays in a row to look at this 1 particular used compact tractor and test drive it. We agreed upon a price and salesperson said they would contact me once it went thru the shop. I said I would bring trailer and buy it when it was done. Received email that it was going thru shop then another email the following day saying his boss sold it. Wasted 6 hours of driving for nothing.

They do good work though they have a massive backlog so be prepared to wait. Also the estimated time to get your repair done in my experience is usually a week off.

I was broke down today, and all I had to do was make 1 phone call and things happened quickly, thanks to Mel, Dustin and Joe, I was able to get back to mowing within the hour!!!!! They were all very friendly and helpful!! Thank you!!!!

Walked around for about 45 minutes looking for a new lawn mower. Nobody had even talked to my wife or myself while we were looking. Ended up going to Lowes and purchased a mower there instead.

Update:Part 2:After having the last part as my review as the first part of my experience with Roeders, I was called today by the owner who heard about my experience with his business. He assured me that doesnt happen or at least he tries hard to make sure that people dont have the kind of experience I had. Long Story short, he is sending me a check for the screw up and talking to the employee about customer service. Anyone can have a bad day and he went out of the way to make sure I was taken care of. The belt was covered under warranty and the also refunded the retail labor I was charged. I feel better about this business and will be back to try them again.Part 1. Worst customer service. I bought a brand-new riding lawn mower from them. At 5.5 hours the belt snapped. One guy in the service dept said it would not be covered under warranty because it was not a clean break. He rolled his eyes at me and said go park it out back and put my tags on it myself. Go to pick it up and a different service guy says it isnt covered under warranty because it was a clean break. They cant make up thier minds on what is warranty and what isnt. They charged me 142.87 for what should have been covered under warranty. Poor customer service, as I was treated as an inconvenience for being there, and the wont stand behind their own product. Go to a different dealer and service place. They will screw you at every turn of your mower!

I will never use Roeder Outdoor Power again. I had to call their service department twice to even get them to pick up my lawn mower and snow blower for service. They picked them up on a Friday and I was told they would be returned on Monday or Tuesday. I finally called them back the following Friday and was magically told they would be delivered on Saturday morning - almost a week after the original promised delivery date. Worst of all they misrepresented their pricing. The final price I was charged was approximately $100 more than I was quoted. When I asked for an explanation I was told it was for parts like oil and an oil filter which I thought were included in the oil change price I was quoted (every other institution Ive dealt with does it this way.) I could live with the higher price if someone would have contacted me before the work was done and would have explained there was going to be a price difference and then allowed me to authorize or reject the work. If you own a lawn mower, snow blower or other power equipment and live in the Dubuque area do yourself a favor and do not use this organization for your service work. I would describe how they handle customers as sloppy and misleading at best and and outright unethical at worst.

They act like you have no other options for mower repair, they do what they want and charge you for items even after they say they wont. Will never be back as it has happened to me twice in a row. Wont be a third time. Too bad because next time it will be a purchase of a new riding mower instead of a repair.

I was very highly impressed with Dustin Ludovissy who spent quite some with during and after my repairs. His patience and professionalism was beyond excellent. Dustin even offered to come my house after his workday, off the clock, to assist me. We soved the problem on the phone but his willingness to go above and beyond the normal expectations to assist a customer was impressive. You have a superstar employee in Dustin Ludovissy.

A big shout out to the crew at Roeders for fixing my Honda mower on short notice. Steve, Mel, and the gang did a fantasic job!
