We brought 7 children to this campground & slept in a large tent (9 of us). The children ranged from 5-12 years old and they absolutely loved this campground. They all brought their bikes and they were able to ride all around the campground. The seasonal people were so sweet with the kiddos and the kids pet every dog at the campground. Very very friendly campground. In the evening about 20 children from the campground were all playing hide & seek tag and one parent gave them all glow sticks. We have stayed at many many state parks and the kiddos said this is the coolest and most fun campground.
Quiet little campground. Right on the river with a bait shop on site. If you like fishing this is a great place. Full hookups on our site, gravel pad with some grass. Level.Nothing fancy, so if you don’t like things a little rustic you may not enjoy it. We liked it very much and the prices are reasonable.Call them or book through Facebook, send a message & you can pay by PayPal before arriving.
Campsites are pretty close together but enough room for a family and large camper. $200 a week/$25 a day plus electric, and Teresa the manager is very nice. Docks available for $6 a day and Superior is 15 minutes away for easy shopping. Water, electric and sewer hook ups at all the sites, pet friendly, picnic tables and fire pits at all sites.
Nice country at.isphere in the city limits
This place appears more like a trailer park rather than a place for out of town people to camp out
If I could give less than 1 star I would. I just got off the phone with the owner who I have been trying to get ahold of for 1 month. I needed 2 campsites. 1 for a tent and 1 for a camper. She was very rude and found it really hard to understand me(I had perfect reception and I am a very direct and specific speaker). She also could not grasp the concept that I needed 2 different sites. When I was asked how I would be paying I said credit card. She informed me that I could only pay with check(I would need to mail it and only after she received it would my campsites be booked) or PayPal. When I asked she send me a bill receipt to my email so I could pay it she said I don’t know how that works. My daughter calls me and tells me when it’s paid she said. I informed her I was not comfortable paying something without a bill receipt she said to bad that is how it is done. I camp ALOT and never have I ever been treated so poorly by someone I was doing business with. Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT stay here. I don’t know if it is a fake site or what, but I hung up the phone with the overall feeling that I was being punked.
Great fishing and nice people.
This campground is close to Jaye Cooke State Park and Duluth making the location ideal for us explorers. The camp host is very sweet. Full hookups with drive-thru spaces for overnighters. It is quiet and on the banks of the St. Louis River. Clean bathroom facilities with only one stall and shower; laundry facilities were inexpensive, but only 1 washer and dryer. Accommodating and friendly campground.
Beautiful place with an amazing public bathroom and private shower 😍. Costs a dollar per shower.
Very nice place. Very friendly owner. We will be back.
We didnt spend much time at the campsite other than sleeping so I really cant comment much on that. What I can say though is that the service is unbeatable. The owner is very nice and accommodating and was able to help me with all of my confusing questions. The tent pads themselves are pretty close to each other which can be good for large groups, but if youre going solo or in a small group, just camp at the state parks where things are a little more private. There are showers on site that cost one whole buck! So if youre planning on staying a while, that is good news.Lastly, the whole campsite feels very safe. Its obvious that there are seasonal people that are there which gives the whole site a community vibe. My girlfriend and I had no problem leaving our tent back at the camp site while we went and explored the north shore.
Nice friendly campground love this place will keep coming back
Casting distance from St Louis.
Very reasonably priced, only 25 a night. The owner is always on site and is simply a wonderful person. You can fish from the docks on site or walk a couple hundred feet to the boys out landing and fish from that dock. I also bring my kayaks and paddle around a bit in the river. Its gorgeous. Several people here are permanent summer residents. They have coffee every morning together and always invite my mom and me. Any time my mom comes to see me she stays here due to the wonderful atmosphere. I recommend it to anyone who likes a small town type atmosphere
Last minute stop.Very nice.
Arguably the worst campsite Ive ever been to. The owner is purely awful. We came there around 5 in the afternoon and planned to spend a weekend there. That night, there was a storm so bad that ruined the entire tent camping area. It was flooded and full of mud. There was literally no place to set up, not to mention that nearly everything with us was destroyed. So the following morning, we packed the tent up, and went to the laundry mat to dry everything we could that was soaked. After, we went to her to inform her it was impossible for us to stay due to the whole area being flooded and we would like a refund since its the morning and were going to have to find another place. She laughed in our face and told us that since it was 1110 in the morning and their camp day starts at 11, we were out of luck and she wouldnt give us a refund. This is certainly a campsite I would advise you to avoid. A penny spent here is too much.
We tried booking a site here and the woman was super rude and unfriendly. I asked about cancellation, as I do making any kind of reservation during COVID and she hung up saying she didn’t want to rent to someone asking about cancellation. She wouldn’t even allow me to respond that I was simply asking for how much of a deposit is need and god forbid someone showed symptoms of covid before we would do the responsible thing and cancel. Very off putting
Hehe
Nice campground, reasonably priced ($25/ night). I believe all sites have full hookups. Great view of the river. Be aware they only take cash. One stall bathroom/shower on site for the whole campground, costs $1 to take a shower.
Highly recommend. Great place, very nice owner. This is a great place right on the river.
Easy pull through full hookup spot. Right on river.
Great little campground, great pricing
Although the river scenery is nice, there are a few things that make this park less than desirable. The sites are tightly packed making it tricky to manoeuvre a big rig. They only take cash no card, if it is hot and there are many a/cs running, the electrical system cant cope and shuts down (presumably through the park as our neighbor also lost power). Because of this last thing we wanted to move on instead of staying the 3 nights as planned and although my husband spoke nicely to the person in the office, she was unwilling to refund our money. She reluctantly refunded one night only. Poor customer service.
Rude As all get out, would not take my kids here period
We camped there in August 2017. It was ok but I dont think I would go back. The main lady was really nice but the campsites face an apartment building so you dont have the nicest scenery. The porta-potty was gross too! I guess for $25 its a place to stay but I would prefer not to go back.
Very Understanding, I showed up with a camper that was difficult to fit, the wonderful staff, and campground occupants all helped me get into my spot and even made some provisions to make it easier, I would recommend no where more, drive to Duluth is short but you are slightly off the interstate.
For last minute camping its okay. Way too expensive. 25 dollars for 1 tent a site is excessive. They wont let you put two tents on one spot. Tent sites are across from a parking lot with lights shining on you. Just an RV park with a crummy area for tents on the side.
Very friendly
Owner Theresa and family great people super price .Lots to do in the area quiet clean.Great guests.
I was highly disappointed with the campground. The spots were very small, there was goose poop everywhere, there werent any trees like you would think a campground would have. Would not recommend.
Stayed here and was promised bathroom and showers and a nice beach over the phone when reserving. Arrived and there is 1 bathroom for the ENTIRE campground and RV park to share. It was equivalent to using a porta potty and the shower was DISGUSTING. Never cleaned and there was a live bird trapped in there. The campgrounds and rvs are practically on top of each other and you maybe on the shore of a river, but theres no beach to swim in. Did I mention the owner charger $1 per shower and the hard water that came out was awful and that while bathroom was just FILTHY. I understand a public restroom wont be perfect, but this was awful. Will NEVER go back. Take my warning. Its bad.
Meh.My wife and I were sharing a campsite with my brother and his wife. We called ahead to make sure it was alright to put a tent and a camper on the same site, we were told this would be OK with a small additional fee. When we got there, my brother had been in the site for a night already and we got out of the car to chat after driving for 6 hours. The owner stomped over and proceeded to have a meltdown about how we couldnt be on the site without checking in first! Check-in time is stated to be at noon, we went to the office 3 times between noon and 1pm and nobody was in the office!tl;dr owner threw a fit about checking in and then didnt maintain office hours to receive check-ins.
Great place, very nice owner and low rates, I would highly recommend.
Great place! Only complaint would be the shower house could use an update
Beautiful, quiet campground right on the St. Louis river
Very nice place to stay everyone is pretty nice
Great place and company!
The owner were jerks they said 6 is many for one camp site. And 17 should be camping what a ass hole they were they would get my business.
Nice place, great Chinese restaurant.
Nice place passport America
Nothing to do. Might be okay if youre a retiree that just wants to sit by the camper.
