This place is small but has everything you need. Just not the closing time is 6 pm.. so plan ahead.. perfect for a nice wine to take back to your Edgewater stay..

Located on the east side of town, Lake Aire Bottle Shoppe is a bit out of the way of my central hillside residence, but still conveniently located right on the main road, and offers one of the widest selections of local craft beers Ive seen in any Duluth liquor store. The prices are extremely fair on any alcohol I checked and actually the best price Ive found on my craft beer of choice. They also have a wonderful selection of wines and select liquors, with nice varieties of whiskeys, vodkas, and scotches, but as every type of liquor outside of the wine/beer are competing for space along one wall, you might still find them somewhat limiting. Regardless, being the best option for finding that liquor you want near the downtown area and if going one extra mile is saving me $2 on every six pack I buy, its well worth the visit!

Its been awhile since Ive been somewhere they keep live, unpasteurized beer on the shelves instead of in the cooler. They had a decent enough selection... But who knows if its any good any more?

Lake Aire bottle shoppe is NOT ADA compliant.On Tuesday, October 13 at 4:40 PM I was denied service because I wasn’t wearing a mask. I showed them the Minnesota DOH mandate, which is not a law, states that “A person who has difficulty breathing” is exempt from the mandate. A Mandate which also states “do not approach people not wearing a mask, instead maintain social distancing”.Clerk went on the offensive and I couldn’t put 2 feet in that building without him attacking me, he wouldn’t listen to me, in fact he run roughshod over me. He did not let me speak, he kept saying “I’m sorry, policy”“I’m sorry, policy”“It’s our store policy”I asked for the manager and “he just left”.So the clerk decided to play judge jury and executioner and refuse service.They would rather deny service and be ADA non-compliant and enforce their policy.I wonder, in a lawsuit, which holds up in court? A law? Or a mandate?

I wanted to send my Brother a little Christmas Spirit but Minnesota does not allow mailing of alcohol and since I live in California I was stymied. Then I found Lake Aire Liquor on line. Taking a chance I emailed the store and asked if there was a way for them to have the Christmas Spirit delivered, Mark quickly replied that he would ensure that the spirit would be delivered. A couple exchanges of emails and my Brother is getting his Christmas Spirit delivered. Marks assistances renews my belief that there are still people out there that care about the public and will go the extra mile. I will be definitely stopping by Lake Aire Liquor and personally thanking Mark on my next trip to Duluth

One of the best wine selections in town and an excellent whisky selection. They have excellent options in all of the major categories of whisky and they are fairly priced. Also, all of the beer you could need. Local, craft, and the big domestic beer. They keep some of the more scarce bottles behind the register.

I was surprised when I saw the amazing selection of beers rotting on the warm shelves instead of in a cooler. The selection was amazing and there were beers that I have not seen at other venues, but there is no way that I am buying an unpasteurized live beer that is out on the shelf. Beers that say kindly Please Refrigerate on the side, as less of a suggestion and more of a hint.

Brimming with so many options/overflow!! And the cashier was so friendly. I found a cheap six pack compared to the nearest liquor shop which charges much more for less options!

Very disappointing service. I called the store a head of time asked them to keep two bottles of rather rare whiskey on reserve for me. They took my name down assured me that they will hold it for me. When I called in to let them know that I am on my way, miraculously the bottles are no longer there. Thank god I didnt make the drive all the way to Duluth. The staff sounded confused and high. I know for a fact that there is no room for confusion becuase the person who took tmy name down sounded very clear. Only thing I can think of is their lack of integrity.

Every time we come to Duluth, we have to hit Lake Aire before we go home. Great selection of beer and wine (much better than we can get where Im from). Our last trip, thought, we had something funny happen: The store closed at either 9 or 10p, and we got there 10 till. The lights were shutting off, and we walked up. The gentleman locking up said Were closing early. Sorry man. Try Wisconsin. Amazing. Try Wisconsin. haha

They were out of all the beers I go to that store for and when I asked if they had more the pot head employee looked in the back of his head and was like nope. Then he asked the other employee if he wanted to do illegal stuff after work.
