As a Duluth resident, I was excited to finally play local tourist and try this boutique ice cream shop. Both the raspberry and mango sorbet hit the spot and were refreshing and very flavorful. We went back for a bonus cone to try the Anise and were delighted by the taste and texture. It was creamy without feeling heavy. Our group was very happy with the exceptional quality.Excited to make this a regular visit now that I know how good it is. Can’t beat the view to take a moment to enjoy Duluth at its best.
We were originally on our way to the malt shoppe when we saw the ice cream cones in the sidewalk. The kids were SO EXCITED to follow them. We ended up at crank and dasher and had a great experience. The ice cream was DELICIOUS and the atmosphere is great too! Lots of fun activities like sitting around the fire or drawing chalk/playing hopscotch. They also have a water/treat area for dogs! Eating ice cream with such a beautiful view was the perfect way to end our evening!
Super friendly service and absolutely delicious ice cream. I highly recommend it!
Delclious ice cream! Certainly not cheap but you get what you pay for: quality! It’s right on the water too so you get quite a view while you eat. There was a long line so it took a bit to get the ice cream but the workers were extremely friendly. Parking was a bit nuts and it’s hidden away but worth it to take a search and find it.
Stopped at Crank and Dasher twice while on vacation. We had a hard time finding the shop at first since its behind fitzgers and we went at night. The first visit my husband got anise which he thought was good. I tried the peach and cream, it was alright. The second visit we got honey lavender after hearing a lady rave about how good it was and she was right! Definitely recommend the honey lavender, its so good! But this is a nice place to enjoy ice cream and relax by the lake or eat it along the lake walk. Ill definitely be back!
The waffle cores are fresh made and the ice cream is on point.
Great ice cream, great service, great fire to sit by😁
The bourbon butter pecan is too yummy.
Got a scoop of vanilla for my young daughter that tasted like anise. Not sure what they were going for. Ended up much happier with a root beer float from the other ice cream shop next to Fitzgers.
The ice cream was phenomenal however the service was sub par. 2 young men were quite helpful but rather unorganized and to get a couple scoops it shouldnt take a half hour. However the boys were nice and helpful
Hands down the best ice cream in Duluth - I love that everything is made fresh and with local ingredients. And the location on Fitger’s terrace is gorgeous. I highly recommend!!
Best Ice Cream in the Duluth area!! Make sure you try a waffle cone!! Plus you can sit there and enjoy the lake.
Delicious small-batch ice cream in adorable packaging! Loved the quality of the ingredients and the flavor choices. Planning to use their ice cream cart for a grad party this summer!
Exceptional ice cream and confections! Every item I have ever tasted is a delight! Whether you are looking for a special gift/celebration or just simply to indulge after a long day, Crank and Dasher is who you should choose.
Hands down best ice cream we have ever had!!!!! Stumbled upon this place when Portland malt shop was too busy. No line here n super friendly staff. The ice cream was to die for! Walked 4 miles the next day for more but they were closed ☹️ went to Portland malt to compare n it had nothing on crank n dasher! I’ll tell everyone I know to head here for the absolute best ice cream!

Crank and Dasher provided our client holiday gits this season. we received rave reviews!
Overpriced ice cream. I got one scoop it was $5 and I could eat it in 3 bites.
