Friendly staff. Pretty nice C.C. but Cart road need to be maintained better as its cost. Little difficult and exercisable courses.

One of my favorite courses in the area. Well maintained and run with class. The play provides great challenges with varying elevation and well placed traps.

Only a week to 10 days after major aeration, with very rough, bumpy and unevenly mown greens, St Marlo was charging full price- definitely not worth that for these conditions. Normally an awesome and enjoyable round, but as one who’s played there for over 20 years, this was a slap in the face.Also, their outsourced phone reservation service downplayed the conditions when directly asked about them!Very disappointed in the management’s decision here.

Pros: Beautiful fairways and challenging course. Very scenic for the most part. Staff to seem to be courteous. Practice facility and club house was nice.Cons: Pace of play was horrendous. The Marshall stopped by twice saying he told the group in front to keep it up. Played our round in 4:50 minutes. The greens were in really bad shape. Bent grass greens that were very soft and because of that hitting shots into the green makes large ball marks which make it difficult to repair. Some of the bent grass was burnt out on most greens. Tons of pitch marks. Very bumpy to putt on. They were on the slower side. Some of the tee boxes were in really bad shape. Extremely eroded and dead on some to where I couldn’t stand on level ground to tee off on some holes.Recommendation: Worth playing if it’s around $40. Definitely worth playing at $85 if the greens are redone and pace of play is monitored more closely. We paid $85, and I wouldn’t play it again at that price.

Pros: nice staff. condition is well kept. cart person readily available. nice practice facility.Cons: Insanely difficult layout best described this way off 90% of the tee boxes: Left is dead, right is dead, long is dead, and short might work but youll be blocked with the most uneven lie you can imagine. From there the pins will be tucked on a slope 1 pace from the edge of a mountain runoff As you can imagine this setup creates pace of play issues...

Greens are awful. A few tee boxes that resemble a batter’s box (also awful). Fairways are well kept and lay out is great. This is a $50 course until they fix issues, could be a $100+ course. A shame because this could be a premier course. Rather play Riverpines or Hampton Golf Village.

Beautiful course layout but the greens are terrible, was pretty disappointed for the price you pay to play here. Rangers need to work on pace of play. 9 holes in 2 hours and 30 minutes shouldn’t be “normal”

The layout was solid but…the greens and many of the tee boxes were terrible. The bunkers were in poor shape and mostly unraked. Ball marks everywhere on greens, some fresh but most were not. The clientele has a lot to do with it but try harder, hire people to fix ball marks and rake bunkers, give out ball repair tools, review policy with guests, etc. Mark the tee boxes under repair vs the current condition. The 1st par 5 blue tee box was the worst I have ever seen. Our friend paid for the entire group and I was still irritated at the condition!

Greens are in terrible shape. Bunkers are the worst I have ever seen. Also I was told there was a student rate when I called, got to course and there was no student rate.

The course was in great condition, greens were fast and rolled true. Something every golfer enjoys. Was looking to get some food at the turn and called in, some guy name Pete answered the phone and was extremely rude. All I wanted was to order a simple hot dog and he seemed burdened by my order. It was disappointing especially when playing at a nice club like St. Marlo. If I didn’t have to deal with a guy like Pete it would of been a great day. The cart staff was great, tipped him $5 and got my club heads cleaned can’t beat that.

Great course but had an ‘unfriendly’ experience at the pro shop today. First time it has happened but hopefully they will try and be more accommodating to regulars!

Grossly overrated and priced! Bunkers without sand, bumpy greens, pompous staff. The craft beer tap was kegged with Coors or worse to continue gouging you.

Living in the neighborhood is very nice, other than a few times security stopped us when they were wrong about what speed we were going at... Ive played the golf course several times, and each time was great. Other than the heat and a little crowding, this place is beautiful.

This place should be ashamed charging $85 on the weekend with the shape of this course, especially the greens.

Played today 9/23/20. A lot of the other reviews are pretty harsh. I thought the course was beautiful. There were a couple greens that were chewed up but that’s because folks don’t repair their ball marks. The majority of the greens were great. The cart paths are rough but it’s mainly due to them being old and roots are messing them up. .Fun course. Will play again.

Nice golf course

St Marlo is a challenge but as usual in tip-top condition. I hadnt played there since last year but plan to play again in the very near future. Its one place I recommend to any golfer seeking a great course!

Great course!

Just a warning to watch your valuables. Forgot an iPhone XR in the golf cart, and we were the last ones on the course. Only the cart boy was behind us that cleaned the cart, and when we went back to get it, he said that he didnt find it. However, we were able to track the location via Find My iPhone and saw it traveling in the neighborhood late at night, and then when we sent a message to the lockscreen, the phone was taken to an adjacent neighborhood and immediately turned off. Was last pinged in the woods in St. Marlo. Pretty sure he got scared and threw it away. Went back to the golf club to speak directly to him, but he was nervous and claimed that he didnt see it even though he was the last person to clean the golf cart. Our fault for forgetting it, but its a shame you cant trust the employees of a country club to do the right thing. Nothing that can be done, but file a police report with our suspicions. The course itself isnt terrible, just the greens are bad. Leaving one-star for losing faith in the goodness of people here.

Awful place with rude people and dirty old men trying to strike conversations. And, as others have written, the management is terrible, they’re equally as rude. I don’t recommend this place at all.

THE WORST MANAGEMENT EVER. I have never dealt with such horrible and rude people from management. Not to mention security doesnt know whats going on half the time.

1st time play here and nice view but terrible green I mean like there no maintenance at all. Sand in the bunker feel like concrete. Service was bad. When I asked for ice he just pointed his finger directly in the big building and said it’s in the restaurant????. And walked away. And I had free massage when riding on the golf car through out the game ( I called it gravel path). Sorry but Never come back here again if they are not fixing the problem.

The greens are terrible, no excuse this year with the amount of rain we had this year. They could lose all of the grumpy old men at the bag drop, marshalls and starter. Just not a good expierence with these people, they are angry, disrespectful individuals, I felt like I should be apologizing for interrupting there day. Hint, if you dont want to be in the service industry, leave. Im sure we can find somewhere to spend our money. There are so many better options. Its okay to represent yourself as the leading premier club, but you have to at least try to back it up with a result. This is a lost organization with poor leadership, save your money.

There are much better courses at much better rates elsewhere. St. Marlo green fees and range balls 90 dollars on a saturday. Greens were slow, cart paths are ROUGH, sand bunkers are as hard as concrete, and overall condition was fair.

It’s insane charging $90 on green fee and a small practice ball bucket and yet providing a little to none maintenance through out the courses and facilities. The Cart paths were in terrible shape every where and greens were so much damaged due to not only heavy trafficS but also total negligences. Would avoid this club for awhile. They need major renovation through out.

I have played St Marlo many times. St Marlo is one of the best public golf courses in the Atlanta area. The course conditions are always very good. The staff is very courteous and helpful. I would recommend this golf course to anyone looking for a challenging but fair test of golf. They also have a very good restaurant and full service bar. They have hosted many tournament outings. So if you are looking for a good test of golf or looking to host a golf outing or wedding. Give them a call.

This is extremely overrated golf course and definitely not worth the money they charge. I’ve been playing here for the past 4 years probably over 25 rounds. They have a wonderful driving range but every time I’ve played here I’ve hit off the mats and never off the grass. The tee box on par 5 # 5 has been messed up since my first round, as is the tee box on # 8 and # 11. Probably never play here again.

This is a great course. I live in the area and belong to another course but play here when I can. Beautiful layout and wonderful people. I have played many courses around the country and this one is solid! Not sure about others golfers experiences but dont pass up a chance to play if you can.

Love the course great place to play but the cart path was very atrocious and could be better. I have some back pains sometimes so the cart path must be fixed

Worst experience that I have ever had. Employees made us feel like we were not wanted on the course. My team and I were doing a golf scramble and golf pros were watching our every move. Would not recommend this place if you plan on doing an outing!

HOA is a pain. Notices every month. Thousands of dollars in maintenance costs. Will not treat everyone equally.

82 dollars for green fees and cart girl goes home at 3 and bar/restaurant closes at 5 when ever tee time is booked thru 5 pm on a Saturday night. Great course poor management.

Terrific golf course! Great condition and beautiful. The varied tee boxes make it fun for high and low handicappers alike. The homes along the course are gorgeous too.

Chantel and Roxy took amazing care of us during the Childrens Hospital tournament. You couldnt ask for better service and and killer smiles every time they worked with us. Would consider skipping the golf at just sit in the bar to take in their service. Thanks!

The people especially the residents who live around the golf course are rude and completely self absorbed.

An enjoyably challenging course to play at any level. Lots of elevation changes with the greens well protected by bunkers and water. I would play this course next time I’m in the area

Course gives you a chance to play every shot in your bag. Just need to get rid of guest that dont fix there own divots. Bent greens which I love. Challenging, but fair. Food was awesome.

In town for the NSC Conference and a colleague and I were lucky enough to squeeze in a round of golf at St Marlo Country Club. The day was a bit dreary as it had rained a few consecutive days prior and so cart path only on our day there (thats ok- just helps me hit my daily steps!). I actually liked that it was an overcast day because the course was less crowded than what I imagine is the norm. The course was beautiful and in great shape. The staff was very friendly.

Lorraine is great. Course is great. Had a lot of fun. Hope others have the opportunity to enjoy it like I did.

Do not waste your time at this club for a WHILE. The greens are lost and this absolutely beautiful layout is a big disappointment solely because of that. EVERY green has sporadic growth left due to fungal infestation. They have done their best to make them playable but every green plays like a plugged and top dressed green at best. I am no course superintendent, but I think they are a LONG way from recovery. Once the greens are back, it will be AWESOME though. NOT UNTIL THEN.

St. Marlo has been my first choice for several years but recently the course is beginning to show its age. But worse than that is a five hour round on a Sunday in the fall. The course wasnt even that crowed. If golfers would learn to play ready golf and stop all this golf etiquette it would have been a 4 hour round. Stop waiting to your fellow golfer to hit his ball on the other side of the fairway then drive 10 yards to hit your ball.

It would be more considerate for the management to notify customers ahead of time if the course is closed or frost delay. Or change the greeting message on the phone system if the technical isn’t there

Super golf course.. if you handicap is over 15, play the up tees. This gold course is a challenge.

Very nice course. Challenging, well maintained. I just have one complaint and that is of the 9th hole. It is way out of place and character at this golf course. When are you going to change it?I returned to this course yesterday (4/18/2019) and it was in very good shape, the staff was great. I did notice that the cart paths are in pretty bad shape due to roots from the pine trees buckling them. You need to use caution when driving on them. Etiquette of golfers and the enforcing of these rules needs to be addressed at all courses.

Please dont waste your money at this golf course, they always overbook and like to rush all players.We have a very bad time playing there and will not go back to this course. Even free, I will not play there ever again.Save your money and play somewhere else, any golf course is better than this place.

Customer Service is not a familiar concept here! IF the reservation I booked was recorded successfully, IF the 4 rental clubs i reserved in advanced were actually reserved after I called and confirmed the the internet reservation captured everything, IF to accommodate this oversight, St Marlo would have offered the make shift set of clubs at a discount for their oversight, IF any of the representatives would have responded (after they read and opened the email of this complaint) - i might had been more willing to book cuttings here in the future. However, NONE of those IFs occurred, sadly.

If that havent fired their grounds keeper they should. Horrible. They want members but their members director doesnt work on weekends? Ill be looking somewhere else
