Went here on Thursday, stood in the front door way for 30 minutes. Was told she was the only one working and her dressing rooms were full. After a family leave I was still standing there. She then comes to get me from the front. I then ask to go to the bottom where the used dresses were, my niece picked out a beautiful blue dress, when my niece went to go into the dressing room a little boy ran from under the dressing room curtain with a cell phone. I then noticed that the so called customers were employees and I noticed them from my last time shopping at special occasions. After I caught on the owner and her employees began to raise their voice at me, telling me to get out, not once did I yell at them. The owner then yells out I have a black granddaughter what does that have to do with me buying a dress for my nieces prom. I feel so humiliated, lied to and disrespected.
I was looking for a military ball dress. I don’t usually like clothes shopping or dress shopping. It’s hard to find things I really like that are also in my size. I’ve had a few different body types over the years. I’ve always been a little bit taller than most females (not a lot taller, just a little) A year ago I had a kind of slim slightly athletic build. Right now I’m almost the roundest I’ve ever been, so finding clothes at places I know has been a bit harder lately.I didn’t have that problem here. There was a wide variety of sizes and styles. She was super friendly, exceptionally helpful, helped me pick out dresses that suited my style and occasion.I found a dress I absolutely adore. My event’s been postponed a few months, but until then I have a great self esteem dress and I don’t have to stress about finding a dress last minute. She also takes note of which event it’s for so that she doesn’t sell the same dress to the same event, which really is a thoughtful practice. If I find myself shopping for a nice dress in the future I’ll be coming back here.
The lady was very helpful and I found a dress that I love.
I called for a special birthday gift for my granddaughter and was given a great deal and received wonderful service. I highly recommend going to Special Occasions. I was amazed at the beautiful inventory they have too.
All you formal needs and extras, Bridal wear, Tuxedos etc..
Love this place, great people and great selection!!!
Looked everywhere for a dress for a military ball and was getting very frustrated due to the ball being two days away and me being 31 weeks pregnant and not fitting into anything. She was super helpful and pulled dresses for me and helped me get zipped. Found a dress that I loved and was comfortable in within 30 minutes. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a formal gown.
My daughter and I love the store. The person who helped us was very attentive, serving and with warmth!I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a dress or a suit.
Went in here on the hunt for my wedding gown. The staff was very attentive and helpful and had such wonderful suggestions. Even though i didnt find my dress, Id recommend to anyone on the lookout!
Always super nice and sweet!
Went there to find an 8th grade dress and was immediately helped to find a dress in my size. Then she was pulling beautiful dresses out of the back and they were all under 150 dollars.
Got something super last minute and they were very accommodating. Thank you so much for your help in finding me a dress.
Awesome and totally stress free experience. Found my dress way under my budget in less than 30 minutes! Easy peasy and the lady who helped me was so nice and helpful!
Awesome experience, great selection of dresses and excellent customer service. Couldnt asked for better, I would highly recommend them.
I miss this place. Wonderful dresses when it was all about dresses. Pricey but they worked with you.
Love this place beautiful dresses awesome prices super friendly
Just a very pleasant experience! Very happy with our prom dress!
Lady was rude, when we came in. Saying they close in ten minutes. We kindly explained to her that your website say otherwise. She rudely replied, that is for our prom season. (Website did not say that, so how are we suppose to know).
They made my daughter feel like a princess for the father daughter ball! Thank you!
Staff was not attentive. Too worried about upcoming fashion show.
Very nice and friendly and very helpful
The staff completely ignored me and when I finally got their attention they lied to me about the price of a gown I liked and they were extremely rude. Dont recommend this place at all.
The owner went out of her way to make sure i had everything i needed when my son passed. She made this difficult time... Special
Im not quite sure why the older review for this business, had to be so rude in their review, BUT....I would like to give an unbiased and updated review. I have been shopping around for a military gown for an upcoming ball. (Mind you, I know....and most people should realize, that this IS the busy season for them, bc proms are coming up.) With this being said, and knowing that the location of the place, is situated in a cozy small town, I really didnt mind that I wasnt being waited on attentively; because I prefer to puruse the selection on my own. In the South, we are known for our charm....and this owner is no exception to a Southern Lady. She was quite kind, extremely knowledgeable about different brands and sizes, and so genuinely considerate of every customer who came in. (No matter their budget) Theres 4 dressing rooms, and a center stage, in which one is able to preview their gown decision.I spoke personally with the owner, and came to find that she has been owning ans operating this shop for 17 yrs. Not only is it quaint, but it also has a great selection of various famous designers, in many colors and sizes. The owner makes SURE she doesnt sell the same dress 2x to the same school, in order to prevent girls from showing up with the same dresses. (This is just another example of how she goes out of her way to assist her customers.) Also, she helps the local schools run a project closet for underprivileged students, who may not be able to afford a dress for their prom. Discontinued lines or older dresses, she donates to these project closets to help the local community. All in all, I honestly can give this business 5 stars.....I consider myself unbiased, bc I have never met the owner previously, or even known of the store, until today. I didnt purchase a dress, because I am still looking, however, the owner stayed after hours, to offer to me, the opportunity to look through a selection book. (Which she said she wouldve been happy to place an order for me, for the next business morning.) She also offers a lay a way program, bc she has many high schoolers who ofter have to pay for their own dress.I believe that the other reviews on here, may not have been privy to all of the information herein. I am Southern as well, so...we tend to communicate a lot, and find out small things quickly. (Aka the gift of gab) My point of all of this is that, I believe that previous reviews may have mismudged this local Southern charming delight. This is a store where one doesnt rush....where they know and call you by name, and probably knew your mother and grandmother as well. If the door should not be open during reg hours, theres most likely a reason, anD the owner makes SURE that there ARE other ways to contact her. (Instagram and facebook.)I personally WOULD return to shop here, bc I loved the atmosphere, the warmth and hospitality, as well as a beautiful and varied collection of dresses.
Wonderful staff! Super helpful!
I love that place.
Prices are a little high for used dresses
Love this place!!!!! Mrs. Sheri is the best!!
