I visited Big Five on October 5, 2021in Durango Co. A young woman named Vicky helped me shop for high top walking boots. My legs and feet dont match from having polio as a kid. Vicky totally went out of herway to help me and come up with a solution and a decent pair of shoes.She made it happen for me. Decades of shoe shopping which usually ended by leaving a shoe store frustrated and crying. Thank you Vicky as very happy with my boots. A well stocked sporting goods store. They has just what I was looking for in a stadium bleacher seat.

The last two times Ive been there. The customer service was very bad. Today on 6/12/21 the manager had the worst attitude, unfriendly, rude, opened late, people were standing outside waiting for them to open. Then when the mask mandate was already dismissed, the employees made me put a mask on, as I was doing so was told not to take another step, before putting my mask all the way on. You dont treat your customers like garbage. I will shop elsewhere from now on. Im from here, raised here. I am informing all that I know.

I was pleased to find exactly what I needed, tried on one size in a pair of Adidas golf shoe just to determine size accuracy ( this brand sometimes runs narrow ) bumped up 1/2 size and was pleased to find a nice selection of larger water thermos ( under armor 62 oz for $25.) Grabbed a pair of batting gloves, (that were neatly sold out) and checked out quickly was back home inside of 1/2 hour. Now that had to be a world record! Thanks Big 5 ! You Guys Rock!

Extremely helpful staff. I was looking for winter outdoor wear, gloves, hats, coats. Unlike other stores in Durango these guys still had a good selection, although it was not yet discounted. However, the helpfulness and sincere effort of the staff in helping me find what I needed in my size, took the sting out of paying full price. And their full price was reasonable.

So helpful!! I called to ask a few questions about getting my son some soccer equipment (I honestly had no idea what size shin guards, ball etc.)Zach the assistant manager put me on hold and went to check stock in the store, as well as let me know what sizes I needed. Thanks again Zach!

I needed to get a pair of shoes to continue our vacation because hiking in flip-flops was not working out so well (always double check to see if you have packed your shoes). The staff was very friendly and we had several offers to help. We ended up getting shoes for all three members of my family because there was a good sale and we had great suggestions from one of the staff.

Great place to shop for all out door goods

Was looking for winter boots for our son as its getting that time of season. Came here as our first stop and saw two shoes that we really liked. Ended up looking at other stores (4 stores) to see if we could find other boots/better deals, but no one else had a better selection and prices.Came here before leaving back home to purchase the boots for our son. Everyone was friendly, asked what we were looking for, and over all helpful.To his moms surprise the boots were on sale and ended up being 5 dollars off from the posted price so that was even better for us.Keep it up guy!

Worst service ever...there was none!!There were at least 4 staff talking behind the counter and getting clothes out of boxes. We were looking at waterproof bags right beside them and not a single person could even say hello....let alone make eye contact. The...I assume manager dressed in a white shirt....walked past me at least 4 times to hang clothes but could not be bothered to say anything. Hanging clothes was way more important than paying customers!I told my partner not to spend money where you get ignored by all the staff but he needed a waterproof bag for tomorrow so went to the counter. A lady went on one side and a heavier guy in a blue shirt walked up and started ringing her up...but still couldn’t talk? Another guy in a blue shirt who looked very hungover served my partner. He asked the guy are there no managers on today? The guy said there were a couple. When my partner said nobody could be bothered saying hello etc, the guy said it’s because we are busy....what??? Busy putting clothes out. Busy ignoring paying customers. Busy giving zero service to customers. Busy talking to each other. I’m sorry but Im busy taking my cash elsewhere. Never again Big 5!!

Seems that Big 5 always has what I need. I was in Colorado on a camping trip with our motorcycles and I needed an OHV tag. Sure enough, Big 5 had em.

Went to get fishing licenses. Took forever. The guy who helped us was the store manger. He didnt have much personality and seemed distracted. The store was fine, and clean but Id probably choose a different place next time.

Too many employees and they all approach like vultures. Make shopping uncomfortable and it feels like Im being rushed to choose, pay and hurry up and get gone just for the employees to stand around and socialize with each other. No retail salesmanship manners.
