The food and drinks are very good at a very reasonable price (less than what I think they could charge). They have lose leaf tea for only $2.5 where as I rarely see a similar product for less than $4. The cafe is cute and good place to work quietly. Outdoor seating is comfortable and suitable for a conversation. So far I have been twice. The first time I was very impressed... Except for one thing. They got my tea order wrong (brought me a different area than I ordered). However the tea was still good and I rolled with it. They dont seem to ask for a name for the order which I think leads to confusion on who ordered what. I recommend they consider this system if they are having issues with not knowing who ordered what. That being said, looking forward to coming back here and a super positive experience overall. Im sure if I told them they would have happily replaced the tea with the one I ordered as well. Oh and one more positive comment, they have a bowl of water for dogs outside!
This is great coffee shop with chill vibes! Good place to sit and work; they even have outlets with USB ports to keep your mobile devices juiced up while you sip your coffee. The coffee selection is wonderful with various delicious flavor options. Service was very warm and friendly. Very clean restrooms. Will definitely stop here again.
Really enjoyed the vibe and the aesthetic. Good coffee. Appreciated the self serve for the drip. A space that really is made for people to work and create all day. Its designed like a coworking space almost. Theres even a conference room!
Marley behind the counter is an absolute ROCK STAR! Offered to make my two young boys an “iced chocolate milk” and it blew both their minds. The owner also came out to say hello and introduce himself. The inside is quite sleek and has a decent amount of indoor/outdoor space for people looking to work. Can’t wait to go back and get something for myself!
I adore this place; the coffee is delicious, the atmosphere is so comfy and the staff are absolutely incredible.
The staff is super nice, the coffee and environment are phenomenal, and they have gender fluid restrooms
The ambiance is great with good lighting and reliable wifi, but the coffee tastes horrible. Acidic, bitter garbage would make a better cup of joe than this place’s beans.
My favorite place to work remotely from in Durham! Fast wifi, sweet staff, good coffee, warm & bright space full of natural light, & relatively quiet usually full of a lot of other remote workers.
I 100% love this place!! The staff is amazing and super sweet. They give me the recommendations and they have never steered me wrong. The Irish Cream Cold Brew is the best and I get it every single time I go.
A lovely space, great coffee. Nice place to study or work, or just relax, great vibes
The barista Marleigh actually made my day and made Foster street a place I wanna come back to again and again. Also, the parfait was exceptional!!
Great place to read or have a yogurt and talk with friends. I come here when visiting my daughter and usually have to wait.
Great food and excellent service! Next time in town, Ill be sure to visit.
This place has the best staff, atmosphere and layout in the area! Plenty of space to study, and the owner knows his customers!
My first time there. Very cute shop, lots of space. My latte was fabulous and the workers were exceptionally nice. Will definitely visit again!
Still a five. Coffee is always amazing. Snacks are great. Nice atmosphere and friendly stagf
This is one of the places in the area that I spend long durations of time to study. It has great coffee and great atmosphere
Quiet place to study and drink coffee
Great experience, lots of dinner or lunch options to choose from. Loved it!
Foster Street Coffee is a nice, local coffee spot. It has an aesthetically pleasing, modern atmosphere. Its clean, the staff are nice, its great for a casual or formal meeting (even during the pandemic), and the menu is high-quality and no-fuss. I strongly appreciated FSCs milk alternatives—almond milk and oat milk. The bakery case is appealing! The brownie is small AND MIGHTY. 😄 It was a delicious option that paired well with my matcha latte. Parking was a bit challenging, but I found a parallel parking spot within a short period of time and paid $2 for a two hour meet-up with a friend. Apparently, FSC will validate free parking for the Liberty Warehouse Apartments parking garage (entrance on W Corporation Street). I didnt know this until AFTER my visit. Also, there *may* be free parking behind YMCA, but theres a pot-hole filled road that leads to it. You got parking options, kid. Bottom line: FSC is a great spot.
Best coffee shop in Durham. Great vibes - check. Friendly staff - check. Dine in (hard to find dine in coffee shops in Durham what the point of a coffee shop without dine in...).
Arrived today just before opening. They opened late, around 905. Completely not set up for business. Said they were still brewing coffee. I asked about food and they said it would be 20 min. Seems they were run by employees and not management. Entirely not ready for business. If you open at 9, be ready to go at 9, not 920. Atmosphere nice but not prepared for customers. No reason to go here when food hall is next door.
I wish this place had been in Durham when I worked there! Best latte Ive had in years!
I think it’s long overdue that I have a review here!!! This place is AMAZING!!!!! Customer service is AMAZING!!!!!! I literally come here maybe 3x a day and get the Jazzy Java!! This is by far one of the best beans That I’ve tasted in life! All baristas are very knowledgeable and always are recommending new things I should put in my coffee! The energy that everyone posses as well is amazing and very inviting! I can’t say again how thankful I am to have such an amazing coffee shop in our community! Thank you foster and of course you will se me bright an early today!!!
Fair, didnt have pour overs, or single origin roast. Coffee was kept in a self serve urn.
This is the perfect spot to get an amazing latte. I am super productive here as the space is quiet and has great lighting. The customers and staff are super friendly. Try the honey lavender latte...delicious!
Like the ambiance.
Great little coffee shop with seasonal specials. They also let Crumbs Bakery set up on Saturday for some delicious vegan treats!
Great lattes, friendly customer service, and a seasonal menu to keep you coming back.
I stopped by this place Sunday morning and had a really good experience. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I had a chai latte and spinach feta croissant fresh from the oven!! It’s a very spacious, but cozy atmosphere inside. You won’t be disappointed.
Good atmosphere and friendly staff.
Terrific coffee!
Lovely staff, very clean (unlike certain other Durham coffee shops I could mention *cough*), croissants baked on site, many comfortable chairs. Also your indoor plants give me great joy.I will come back to this review and give you your fifth star as soon as you get some metal cutlery so that we can skip the plastic. :)
This is a good spot if you live in Downtown Durham or work on this side of downtown. (Better to walk or bike here, than park) Immediately upon walking in I see that the atmosphere is open and bright. The staff is somewhat friendly when I went in around 10:30 on a Thursday morning. (Great customer service goes a long way for me) I had one person in front of me and I ordered a dirty chai to go. Waited about 10 minutes for them to have my drink ready. The drink was pretty tasty and reasonably priced. They definitely do things differently here- they don’t get their beans from a roaster, beans are actually unblended. Bakery selection was ok, I see it depends on the day- Guglhupf pastries offered so I know that’s good! Parking is a challenge. Parallel parking available around 3 sides of the Liberty apartments, put its pay parking only and difficult to even find a spot. There’s parking off of Foster St behind the YMCA parking on a road that is terribly paved and full of potholes but it’s the only free option if you plan on parking there for 2 hours or less. Overall, this is a spot I’d only stop at if I were running an errand on this side of downtown or going to a show at Motorco around the corner. Not a shop I’d go out of my way to go to.
Need to fill paid 16 oz cups with 16 oz of coffee not 12 otherwise very tasty
Lovely and bright coffee spot with many caffeinated options and plants galore. Their Jazzy Java blend is my favorite. Theres a good mix of tables and chairs with a handful of cozier furniture. Good place to study, have an informal meeting, or just grab a cup to go.
Good coffee and chill vibes. Plus the staff is really friendly 🙂
They are always so nice and make my drink perfect every time. Great vibes 😁
Went to Foster Street Coffee for the first time today. My husband and I loved it. Great service, delicious hot chocolate and the best quiche Ive ever had! The owner, Tracy, is so helpful and kind!
Good coffee, nice atmosphere and great prices. The owner and staff are all extremely pleasant. I was so pleased to find a decent new coffee shop in the area where I could sit down and get some work done and enjoy a good cup of coffee without having to refinance my home (looking at you, Cocoa Cinnamon). The only gripe I have is that it closes too early at 5pm. Even two more hours (until 7pm) would make a world of difference to us folks who arent free until late afternoon/evening.
My mocha is always perfect. Really friendly staff.
Great coffee and awesome customer service!!
I love this place! Roomier and brighter than other coffee shops in Durham, making it a great place to study. Its a small thing but I also really like how they bring your drink to you rather than making you go up and get it.
Great coffee, very comfy chairs. Can actually get large sized cappuccinos. Relaxing space. Has a room with a large table for work or study. Limited food options
This place is amazing! I only had their smoothies which was good but could’ve been better. I did some work here on my laptop and have different sitting options. The inside looks modern. Will come here more often!
Love this place. Great for studying and doing work. Had an iced chai tea latte which was better than most places. Great if you need to change up your study space :)
Very friendly and lovely staff with delicious creative coffee options
Went there to grab some vegan pastries from Crum bakery. Super sweet staff and delicious food! Love the space!
Great coffee and big space to work
Tracy (owner) is a delight ! Always friendly and educates us on what local bakeries are on display this week. I had a fine cold brew coffee and a local chocolate chip/sea salt cookie for my mid-morning snack today. This shop had an advantage as the first business under The Liberty Apartments. This block is going to grow tremendously in the coming year, and I look forward to seeing the coffee locals visit other new businesses!
We love Foster Street Coffee! The coffee and teas are great. And if you want a place to get away from being crazzzzzy, try Foster Street Coffee with a calming atmosphere and comfy furniture. The staff is attentive, responsive and knowledgeable; very friendly too. Youll find it a refreshing place.
Great place! Only reason I gave 4 & not 5 stars is b/c of limited menu selection of side items at this time. Food was great tho👍 certainly a do-over
Comfy. Service was fine. If you want a good cup of black, light roast coffee, look elsewhere. Nothing to write home about. Wife’s chai latte was good, she says.
Cosy atmosphere thats good for working (quiet but not silent). Prompt, polite customer service. I ordered a cappuccino and it was good.
Awesome coffee shop! They have great music, great local pastries and will validate parking. They are new and growing, so theres always something new to try - just tried their new (not even on the menu yet) cold brew and it was amazing! 10/10. Will return.
Just stopped by and got a large latte. Place is brand new, located just off Durham Central Park. Nice location. Seems like they have a good selection of coffee drinks and baked goods.
Lovely ambiance, kind and helpful staff (and the owner, Tracy, is unbelievably sweet!) and probably the best chai latte in town.
Good coffee variety of flavors
Great atmosphere. Clean place, good coffee, comfortable.
Place is ok, seating could be much better, had to get a coffee to go as a couple due to every table being occupied by one person and a laptop, not a good place for couples
Owner was personable and professional...made us feel right at home! Tasty coffee, tea and treats with a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere! Recommended!
Great environment. Very chill but inviting. Highly recommend the Jazzy Java in the Iced Magnum drink.
$wag ma$ter flex 3000
Loved the lavender latte! Great service, peaceful yet sociable atmosphere.
Very well-made drinks and one of the quieter coffee shops.
Love this spot.. wonderful after a tasty waffle from Dames next door!
Really friendly staff and wonderful coffee thats well priced. Just an overall great place
Really great coffee shop. Nice atmosphere, good drinks ( I drink tea and their tea is wonderful.)
Great atmosphere, free parking (with validation), and delicious coffee! Definitely recommend the jazzy java.
Great coffee, found it by accident and now it’s a favorite!
Great coffee, excellent service and a comfy, classy ambience.
Consistently delicious cortados, and they validate free parking for the Liberty Warehouse Apartments parking garage (entrance on W Corporation Street).
Best chai latte in Durham!
Wonderful friendly spot, great location
Excellent place to meet!
Great place, excellent coffee
Absolutely 👍🏾
Very good coffee
Cute location/atmosphere but the coffee was less than stellar and they had one size only for drinks, not impressed.
Great service and clean
Great coffee!
Ok
Delicious 😋
